Early Elvis
This CD is a scream - literally - as Elvis, Scotty Moore and Bill Black rock out on the Louisiana Hayride. There's a lot of narration between songs. It's informative, during the first listen anyway. It's the music that stands strong here.

Great music...when Elvis was still raw
First, let me say this...don't correct other people's language choice...especially when you phrase it as though we should all make a group effort.How condescending.And as far as "cleaning up the language?"Dude, you spelled the word "tonight" with a NUMBER.Worry about your own grammar before you complain about other people's word choices.No puppies were killed by his words.Get over it.

Excellent!
This is an excellent CD! It combines beautifully the Greek spirit with the European tradition and Mouskouri's voice is the prefect instrument to bring all those elements together. She sounds very fresh, bright and her introductions to the songs "break the ice" with the audience. Among the highlights of the CD are the songs from Manos Hadjidakis'music for the ancient comedy "Birds" which are unique and very rarely heard anymore. Mouskouri in her live productions of the 70ies is unique and worth to listen to.

a night never to be forgotten
listening to her brilliant voice on this cd makes my hair rise. this was her best ever, i was privaliged to be there that evening in the second row. her voice is crystal, the acompaniement great. this is a must for all Nana followers, i have seen her in many concerts, but this is my number one.

Fine big band album - also consider this alternative . . .
Actually there are TWO Johnny Hodges feature numbers in this Paris concert, EITHER ONE of which is worth the price of the whole CD package.
Finally on CD
One of the all time great albums. I've had this on vinyl for over 30 years and have been waiting patiently for it to arrive on cd. It's been well worth the wait. The first two cuts alone are worth the price. Enjoy.

Great Live Collection from Australias Greatest Singer
This is the second volume in the Anthology set celebrating John's 30th Anniversary as a Charting singer. This volume covers his hits through his "Johnny Farnham" pop period to his mainstream rock period with "Uncovered" and the Little River Band. The standout tracks are the ballads that truely show the full intensity of Farnham's fine voice. Comic Conversations and Please Don't Ask Me are the best examples. Looking Through a Tear is a great song, however, the vocals seem a bit off. The LRB tracks - No Way to Love Someone, Playing to win, When the War is Over and Justice for One are also great track. The final track (And I Love Her) is a Studio re-working of an old Beatles song.Overall, this album showcases the best live recordings of the various songs. The songs are drawn from many different concerts. A number of the tracks are from a video from 1987, some are from concerts with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 1989, the LRB era ones are from a previously unrelease concert in 1986, and there are a number from recent tours and a concert at the openning of the Palladium Ballroom in Melbourne, 1997. Farnham is reluctant too perform his firsat hit Sadie the Cleaning Lady hence the rather short version that appears on this album. Best they ever made
I have a large collection of the Four freshmen. This collection dates back to lp's.
Both sides now
The jokes and funtalk with this concert is somewhat dated. But the sound is great.
I Love These Guys
I still enjoy the Four Freshmen, and was inspired to buy some more of their music after meeting Ross Barbour at a Stan Kenton concert recently.I like the content of this CD, but as sometimes happens with live recordings,the narration is so soft the sound must be turned up high.Then the music can blow your head off if you aren't ready. Their sound is amazing, as always, and I'm happy that the tradition is being carried on by the newer Freshmen. They are great, too.I can't seem to get enough of that smooth sound. ... Read more
