5-0 out of 5 stars Yankovic to Rock Hall of Fame!!!
It's been 27 years since Weird Al first displayed his genius to the world with My Bologna, so why isn't he in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? I implore all fans to take whatever drastic actions are required to make the short-sighted entrance commitee to that august organization make Weird Al a member.
5-0 out of 5 stars There is no one like Weird Al
AGAIN, he does a fantastic job. He is able to morph his voice to handle any style of song. This one also really shows what a lovely voice he really has. BEAUTIFUL job AL, keep it up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Its Funny, hopefully it will stay that way...
I not a gigantic fan of Wierd Al, since he can become a victim of his own success (anybody want to hear "Eat It" again, ever?) but I heard "Weasel Stomping Day" on Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken show and I was laughing out loud. Hopefully cuts from this CD won't get played to death because its worth a listen. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Trick Or Treat
This is a great and smart collection. Just look at the selection of songs you get, Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, Purple People Eater, The Addams family theme, Twilight Zone and my new favorite The Martian Hop. I never heard the Martian Hop before even though it's from the early 1960s, pretty catchy song. It's a great cd and unlike other compilations that have movie themes this one has the actual real legit songs. That's the real Monster Mash song by Bobby Picket, that's the real beginning to the Addams Family show and that's the real RayParker Jr. singing Ghostbusters. It would be nice if they had more songs but you'll still be glad you bought this cd when you have company over for a party come October or Halloween Night.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Music Sung by the People that Made them Great!
A CD of fun, & silly Halloween music that you can enjoy because it's the recordings of the original singers, not the original singers brother's cousin's hairdresser's aunt.If you like Dr Demento type music, then you'll love this! My kids enjoy it as well. The 2 best songs are of course, Monster Mash and Martian Hop.Give it a try!

5-0 out of 5 stars good CD abc

5-0 out of 5 stars Musicals and Burlap Sacks...
I snagged this CD a few days ago and was absolutely pleased with it.It's just a lot of fun from beginning to end.He reminds me of a sober Mitch Hedberg in some ways but I don't want to get carried away with that comparison.I say this because both have a great knack for throwing out ridiculous ideas from DEEP left field ... stuff that makes you wonder "where the crap did he even come up with that?"But stylewise, Demetri has his own little thing happening, with a very unassuming delivery, and he likes to mix it up with other means of creativity as well, using his sketch drawings or throwing in some guitar to give things a different flavor.(I guess that makes it very low-tech multi-media comedy.)
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the most clever and clean comedians out there!
I asked Demetri back in March '05 when this CD was coming out... "Oh, around October [05]..." Well, his estimate was a year off, but let me tell you-- the wait was WELL worth it! This CD/DVD combo is packed full of creativeness. The CD performance captures basically all his material (including stuff I hadn't heard since March '05), performed in his prime, with a great audience that "got" him (not obnoxious or laughing at the wrong time; clever crowd!) resulting in a great, fun, smile-inducing, laugh-inducing listening experience. The whole CD/DVD package itself is fun, with illustrations all by Demetri, including a fold-out poster* (*professional)! His humor is for all ages; intelligent; hilarious. I look forward to his future insights!

5-0 out of 5 stars very funny, very smart, very original, demetri martin is the man!
don't listen to the previous review saying demetri has gone soft.that guy doesn't know what he is talking about and i also think he is a little bitter that he can't get any girls.the only people i know that complain about someone else catering to the 'ladies' is the guy who can't get any of the aforementioned 'ladies.'demetri martin is a very smart guy and his comedy showcases his intelligence.i just saw him live and his new material is just as funny as this cd.creating a whole new set of jokes is not an easy task, most comics hold on to jokes for a very long time and demetri, new to the public ears, is already on tour with a whole new set of jokes.he can improv, he can draw (pictures) funny material, he can come up with one liners, and best of all, after the punch line is delivered, he can still, sometimes quietly, throw in a line or two that is far funnier than the punchline.only larry david can make me laugh as much as demetri martin.demetri is really in a special class of comics, because he is just naturally funny, he doesn't have to try, he just has a really funny way of looking at things and thinking about things and he is my favorite comic right now.he can make anyone laugh, not just a specific group of people, and that is true talent. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Going to buy it...
I like to read user reviews before purchasing anything and I have to say, there aren't a whole lot here that I can really count on. You have two sides: those who LOVE Dane Cook and those who LOATHE him. The loathers of the group seem to think that all comedians should be insightful, political, have a real message. My love for comedy is complete. My tastes range from Dennis Miller, Lewis Black and George Carlin to Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Dave Atell.I LOVE TO LAUGH. That's all that matters. I'm not the most intelligent person in the world, nor am I the dumbest, but I don't think that liking Dane Cook lowers my IQ in any way. And something I found that I do with Dane Cook that I don't do with other comics...I repeat his jokes in my everyday life. His observations about everyday, random things are so dead on that when I come across those situations, I have to laugh and repeat a Dane-ism. If you don't like Dane Cook, fine. But don't belittle and disparage those who do. Everyone's tastes are different.
1-0 out of 5 stars He's the biggest thing in comedy?Really?
Man, have I given this guy a chance.Multiple chances.Listened to the CDs, saw the big HBO special.I mean, his career is red hot now.He clearly has lots of fans.Mostly college age (perhaps this should be a warning to some of you). All I can say is "maybe they'll grow out of it."He is NOT funny. His act has no bite, no point of view, no opinion/viewpoint at all.His comedy consists of spewing observations his audience can relate to (the "this is all happened to us" or "has this ever happened to you?" school of humor). He runs about manically, acting out every little word that comes out of his mouth (for those in the audience that may not be so good with words). His fans acknowledge that, yes, they can relate."Yeah! That's happened to me!""I know that reference!'They laugh, cheer, clap, and plunk down their hard-earned dollars for his vanilla wit.He never actually COMMENTS on the things he discusses in any intelligent, interesting way.He has no edge. He's not outraged by anything. He's cute 'n' cuddly.Richard Pryor must be rolling in his grave at the very fact that Cook is classified as a stand up comic."Pryor? The guy writing this must be OLD!'Okay, try this on for size:Chris Rock is good comedy.Same with Dave Chappelle.Carlin.Laura Kightlinger.Kinison.Rodney Dangerfield.Bob Saget.Gilbert Gottfried.Dom Irrera.Lewis Black.Robert Klein. The late Mitch Hedberg.Jim Norton.Patton Oswalt.Brian Posehn.DeGeneres.Jon Stewart.Bob & David. The UCB.I'm not even a big fan of Sarah Silverman, but at least she's trying to bring something different to the party.Anything but this!God help us.Let's hope he goes the way of Carrot Top and Dice soon (don't forget, Cook fans, Mr. Top and Mr. Clay were once as popular as your boy here).

1-0 out of 5 stars Totally Sucks. He can't possibly have any fans over 30.
Check out George Carlin little kids. That's a real comedian. Or if you have a bias against anyone whose popularity started before 1995 (when you were 5) Dave Chappelle and Nick DiPaolo. If you still like Dane Cook then you're officially retarded. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Please give us more Norm
I have to say that looking at the reviews, I would agree that some skits are atronger than others, but especially the best skits I have listened to time and time again and they still make me laugh.Every sketch though has at least one great line delivered by Norm.A lot of the humor is funny because it is so suddle.Even the parts that are shockingly abrasive in thier humor, have suddle undertones that make them really funny.Guests stars are all over the album. The ones I knew were Artie Lang, Molly Shannon, Will Ferrell, Jon Lovitz and Tim Meadows. The Fantastic Four sketch and Tex Hooper are probably the best, but I die laughing when he says "My hand sure hurts from that meteor...I mean phone" in Stan + Lois a skit about a guy pretending that he is Superman's secret identity to score with Lois.I disgree with the reviewer who said this was the same stuff as his Comedy Central special. There wasn't a single overlap in sketches. Not as good as watching Dirty Work but still a great album.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Disappointment
A long time fan, I bought this immediately after watching Norm McDonald do a hilarious turn with John Stewart on the Daily Show.
5-0 out of 5 stars Note To Self: Norm MacDonald CD not as good as Advertised
I gave this CD 5 stars simply because it completely eclipses 95% of the "Comedy" albums that get released because focus groups full of mongloid rednecks say the material is funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could you think of a better soundtrack that could define Monty Python any better?
I recently purchased "Monty Python's SpamAlot" and that was money well spent. The lyrics are hilarious and couldn't define the humor of Monty Python any better. It captures that greatness of the 1970s movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and adds new laughs.Sara Ramariez has an amazing voice and (if you didn't know) I truly understand why she won the Tony in 2005 for her portrayal as The Lady of the Lake.If you are a Musical Theatre Junkie, like myself, then I highly suggest that you order this soundtrack.

5-0 out of 5 stars Way too funny!!
I purchased this CD after seeing Spamalot because the songs from the show are clever, witty and, well, just plain funny. Listening to the CD at work or in the car just sends me into a great mood as I remember the show and how funny and entertaining it was.Anyone who has seen Spamalot will know what I mean and will want that same recollection over and over as they listen to the tracks. If you loved the show this CD is a must. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible
I'm absolutey dumbfounded as to why this guy has a thriving career...he really is terrible.I agree that he is one of those comics that just does the whole "has this ever happened to you..." and just animates everything buy jumping up and down. NOT FUNNY!If you've seen seen the MAD TV spoof on him, you'd realize just how much of a joke this guy's act is.Mindless garbage on a CD.I wish I could give it 0 stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Big pile of doggie doo!

this album has all the greatest Bob Newhart bits, even some I didn't know existed; if you liked his shows you have only seen a small tip of the iceburg of the button-down mind

5-0 out of 5 stars "It might go...
something like this..." With these words Bob Newhart, one of my favorite comedians, launches into one hilarious skit after another. Most of the bits here are every bit as funny as they were when originally performed, though a couple like "The Man Who Looked Like Hitler" or "Rocket Scientist" can seem dated. While I'm not opposed to the odd vulgarity (and I don't think that they either makes things funny or keep them from being funny), I enjoy the fact that Bob works so clean. It makes it possible for me to share something I really enjoy with both my older relatives (who would be offended otherwise) AND my younger relatives (who shouldn't be exposed).

5-0 out of 5 stars Old Bob Never Fails...
For some nostalgic funny memories, you just can't beat old Bob.These tracks remind me of my junior high school days when everyone was raving about the comedy of Bob Newhart. It is great to have him back in my collection! If you're not all that familiar with Bob's classic stuff, you'll be pleasantly surprised. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Could have been a genius, should have been a legend, and in time, he just might
In a world where a hack like Dane Cook, whose nothing more than a Seinfeld for fratboys and lushes, is the world's most popular, and best selling comic, it's nice to have Mitch Hedberg to one's self.Sure, he's got a descent fanbase, but they enjoy his material because it hits them close to home, they get his style, they understand where he's coming from, not because he's in a movie with Jessica Simpson and that talentless midget from MTV.His comedy wasn't so much comedy as it was just listening to one of his casual conversations with a group of people, and his insights just happen to be, for the most part, absolutely hilarious.
5-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Joy... HILARIOUS!
It is a pity that this comic died. He was truly great. However he left us some fantastic material to enjoy. I like "Mitch All Together" better than "Strategic Grill Locations", but they are both definitely worth a purchase if you like stand-up comedy. I would go as far as to say that Mitch Hedberg is in my top 5 favorite comedians of all time. Thank you Mitch, for your brilliant material.

This album makes me want to bash my head in with a blunt instrument. And I'm a pretty big Al fan.But darn it, I can't believe he actually did a Frank Zappa style parody on the last song!Whee!!!But seriously, Al really let me down with this one. After "Running With Scissors", this one takes another step down and will leave you shaking your head wondering what happened to the Al we all love.Come back Al!You're drowning in the shallow end of the pool!

4-0 out of 5 stars "Poodle, Poodle"
here is what I believe is on of his funniest albums to date. Not as funny as Bad Hair Day but still funny.

Weird Al may be somewhat predictable, but he is always amusing. On this album, he does both his best and boring work.

    2-0 out of 5 stars Hallo-wha?
Let me start by saying I've never listened to Steamroller before picking this up. I am a big fan of Halloween and have quite a collection of music/sound fx so naturally, this was a must buy when I saw it.
5-0 out of 5 stars An interest take on the usual
I wasn't sure what I'd think of this from reading other reviews, but I really did like it.I'm not really familiar with Mannheim's other stuff (but if the rest of the Autumn cd is anything like Harvest Dance, I'm looking forward to getting it), so I didn't have any preconceived ideas.I have a lot of the classical pieces on other cds, but I like the different twist given to them here. And I did like the sound effect cd.Nicely spooky (I have enough other sound effects cds with screaming and muching ghouls, etc).

2-0 out of 5 stars Could have been great but . . .
As a big Steamroller fan, perhaps my hopes were set a little too high.I envisioned more original music (perhaps a more scarier vibe than the silly one this CD has to it) and maybe a few covered tunes.Chips originals (from the Fresh Aire series)found on this CD outshine the weak efforts put forth on the covered and rearranged tracks. The sound effects disc sets a great(and creepy)mood, that should had been followed through with some new and equally scary compositions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay for being cute.
It's cute, it's catchy, it's not high art. If you're looking for a fun dance CD then this is it but the songs are a re-mix of 70s and 80s tunes with a techno twist.

    4-0 out of 5 stars A fun C.D.
The C.D. is a fun one for kids, and for getting us adults moving... The songs are all silly spin-offs of the regular ones.We enjoy mixing this with our other 'kid' c.d.s... WARNING for parents... you may want to moniter the 'Crazy Frog' web-site.One initial version is 'semi' okay, but another web-site is NOT approperate for young kids! For something fun and silly... add this C.D. to your collection.

1-0 out of 5 stars What has this world come to?
Its bad enough that a record company authorized the production of this horrible techno s*** called Crazy Frog, but them selling millions of records? What's wrong with you people?!!

It is a pity that this comic died.He was truly great. However he left us some fantastic material to enjoy.I like "Mitch All Together" better than "Strategic Grill Locations", but they are both definitely worth a purchase if you like stand-up comedy.I would go as far as to say that Mitch Hedberg is in my top 5 favorite comedians of all time.Thank you Mitch, for your brilliant material.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mitch Hedberg is stoned and funny
Reminds me of Stephen Wright with a sense of humor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jim Gaffigan is # 1
This was a great purchase. The CD kept me entertained for a long time. It's even better to watch his facial expressions on the DVD, although the DVD is pretty short. I definitely recommend this purchase. This guy is HILARIOUS!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely funny
This is one of the funniest comedians I've ever heard.I would recommend it to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hysterical
I love Jim Gaffigan! Some comedians need to be seen to be appreciated, but I think Jim's style works well even if you only listen to the CD.The little asides he puts into his act (like a member of the audience is commenting on his jokes) really crack me up.The guy is very clever and has a great delivery. After buying this CD I looked up his website and found that he was coming to the Improv in my town, so I snatched up tickets to what turned out to be a sold-out show and it was really great.Alot of jokes from this CD, but alot of material not on the CD.I listen to alot of standup on satellite radio and on Comedy Central, and I like alot of the newer comics (Dane Cook, Mike Birbiglia, etc.) but I think Gaffigan has to be my favorite- his humor is a little more universally appealing. ... Editorial Review

Biting, sometimes base satire and humor populates this 21-cut comedy-rock debut from actor-musician Jack Black and his band, Tenacious D. Sort of like a trashier, more casual and less musical Beck, vocalist-guitarist Black and guitarist-vocalist Kyle Gass, with help from Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, Redd Kross's Steve McDonald, and Page McConnell of Phish, deliver oddball musings that will appeal mostly to fans of the talented Black, whose earned a following thanks to memorable, frenetic turns in the films Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!
I went to see this play, where we live! It was just fantastic! One of my friends from school was in it! I just listening to the music and singing along! I recommend it to anyone who loves musicals!

5-0 out of 5 stars It gets the whole family singing and dancing
I bought this CD because my daughter was involved in a local production of Seussical The Musical. We play the CD all the time at home and in the car and the whole family dance and sing along to the songs. It gets you moving without realising it. It's a fantastic way to get to know some Dr Seuss stories and made me realise the importance of imagination in children, something that seems lacking nowadays. It's a beautiful story and sung wonderfully by all the performers. I highly recommend this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Regan ROCKS
This guy is great! We were introduced to his comedy by a friend that played his recent DVD at a party. Our family was instantly hooked. We bought his CD that was released years earlier and took it on a road trip to Las Vegas this summer. We had to have listened to that CD 5 times during the drive out and had loads of laughs every time. The first track is the best and sets the tone for the rest of the CD.Buy it and enjoy it!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air!
Brian Regan is freakin' hilarious!I am completely surprised that seemingly all other comedians feel the need to throw in as many swear words as possible while someone like Brian Regan can keep it completely clean.I don't remember hearing even ONE ounce of profanity on this CD.I seriously could listen to him over and over and it's even better when you start to know some (or all) of the lines in his material....you find yourself using these lines to relate to occassions in your own life.I have friends that love Regan as well and we get humor from this CD even if we haven't listened to it for a long time.I highly recommend this CD and also suggest checking out his new DVD "I Walked On the Moon".Seeing the facial expressions that go with his material just adds to everything.Order this now...you won't regret it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I gotta admit I'm a bit surprised at how generously people are rating this album.I bought it because people raved about it so much.My wife and I listened to it on our drive to Indianapolis this weekend and ... we found it very lackluster.I'm not saying all other reviews here are WRONG, I'm glad they enjoyed it.However, this album pales in comparison to other works out there. It simply doesn't measure up to the likes of Todd Barry or Mitch Hedburg. Not even close.

5-0 out of 5 stars Button Down Mind of Bob Newhart
Just as funny as the first time I heard it. A great CD; even kids can listen to it without the worry of foul language. He really knows how to tell a story with humor, meaning, and interest.

    5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic...
I have the old LP/Record, but was delighted to see it become available on CD-ROM. I purchased it for my sister. Newhart's comedy is timeless and clean. He never had to resort to "below the belt" humor to make you laugh. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Butten'd Down After All These Years!
After all this time (40+ years), it's positively amazing that this title is on any chart let alone a top 40 hit on the Amazon roster. I remember it well and this, along with The First Family by Vaughn Meader are fine examples of 1960's comedy and a startling contrast to todays accepted humor. Recommended for anyones collection. The king of pop parodies returns with another zany collection of tunes that poke fun at pop culture. There are a handful of undeniably funny moments--notably "The Saga Begins," which pairs the tune to Don McLean's horrendously sentimental "American Pie" with the plot to the first Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just a novelty, this one has genuinely good music too...
Running with Scissors is without a doubt WierdAl's best work to date. From the brilliant opening track "The Saga Begins" (which puts the story of Star Wars Episode 1 to "American Pie"), to the witty "Pretty Fly for a Rabbi" (Do I really have to say what it parodies?), and some of Al's best original compositions ever."Germs" is a humorously paranoid song about... well, germs, and "Your Horroscope fot Today" puts astrology in it's place with Ska."Albuquerque" is more or less story telling, with the music taking a definite second fiddle. As my Mum put it, "It's 11 minutes of crap!", and she's right, but what crap!"Truck Drivin' Song" is a one-joke-song which suprisingly survives multiple listenings."Polka Power" is, in my opinion, Al's best polka yet.Hey, anything that combines Hamson, The Spice Girls and Marilyn Manson to polka music has to be good.Trust me.

5-0 out of 5 stars What the...?
I've been a big weird al fan since off the deep end, so it's a granted that I'll pretty much love anything he does. Something does bug me though, and it's not this album. One reviewer made a correction that the song "germs" is not a parody of NIN's "Closer". This is correct, it is a parody of NIN's "Terrible Lie". He ALSO said "Terrible Lie" and "Closer" are on the same album. NO, they are not. OMG!!! Like. Correct Right. "Terrible Lie" appears on the 1989 NIN release entitled "Pretty Hate Machine" and "Closer" appears on the 1994 NIN release "The Downward Spiral". Also, it should be known that although the song "Germs" sounds like "Terrible Lie", it is not credited in the booklet. Trent Reznor and Weird Al should hook up on a record. Anyway, I'm OCD apparently and I really need sleep. Goodbye!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not so much a review, more of a correction!
I'd just like to correct all of the people who say that Germs is a parody of Closer, it isn't , it's a parody of Terrible Lie, which is also by Nine Inch Nails and appears on the same album as closer.Germs does NOT sound like closer, it doesn't do the Closer chorus!
