3-0 out of 5 stars ok then
I understand that people enjoy this album. I myself like a lot of the tracks a lot and am impressed with timbaland's work, but I don't understand how people can rank this as one of the best when artists like michael jackson and prince did it much better and justin is ripping them off. I guess it's cooler to like justin cause he's younger but to say he's the best when he's really manufactured and works with a bunch of big names that produce most of his work and wardrobe for him is not fair.

4-0 out of 5 stars "Tell me which way you like that", JT is back with solo CD #2
I never have a problem telling people that I never liked N Sync. The only 2 songs that I ever liked that they did were "This I Promise You" and "Gone". It even took alot of convincing from a friend of mine that liked music to buy "Justified".He told me that the CD had a r&b feel to it although N Sync strictly did pop music 99.9% of the time.Once I purchased "Justified", I was impressed by Mr. JT, as Timbaland called him on "(Oh No) What You Got)". My favorite tracks ended up being "Last Night", "Take It From Here", "Still On My Brain", "Like I Love You" w/Clipse, and "Cry Me A River" as well as, "(Oh No) What You Got".
5-0 out of 5 stars The Sexy was already here, but I likes it!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably the third greatest CD in the history of the world, behind Hasselhoff(just put them all under one title because they are all unreal) and Centerfield by John Fogerty. JT is just off tha hook with dance jams that make me breakdance like I won't get dinner if I don't slap the room around with a moonwalk. He also slows it down so you can come in high and tight with your sweet muffin. Squeeze the muffin turbo! I'm a great dancer, I know that is assumed, but this CD takes me to another level not seen since Boogaloo Shrimp tore the wall off the place in Breakin 2, electric boogaloo. I walked into my favorite club the other night, Frankendance, and "Sexyback" was playing on the system. I took off my sequin robe and it was Mcbowlerpimp cold lampin. I was doing moves that no one had ever seen or smelled before. I moonwalked in a rhombus pattern!! There was no name for that so we called it chunderwinkles. I was on fire, so they sprayed me down with an extinguisher and I kept going. I was getting women's numbers in the middle of dance moves. I know, you can't pull that off. Jabs had to grab a pen and paper because I couldn't keep up with all of the offers of love for the evening. I can take the game to levels not seen since Ricky Schroeder on Silver Spoons. I tell you this story to lay out my only complaint about this CD. JT didn't bring the "sexy" back. I ran a newspaper ad in July of 2003 declaring that I had decided to bring the sexy back. I was laying low for awhile and locked the sexy in a treasure chest like a pirate would have. I didn't think the world was ready for sexy with everything going on in the middle east. In July of 03, I figured I would take the sexy out of the box and bring it back. I brought it back at 10 lies in 03. It was front page news in the Syracuse paper the next day. Sexy was back. I'm OK with JT taking it worldwide, but I thought I would let everyone know what's up. Average and me were close when I was 4, but I moved 3 time zones from it the next year and haven't looked back. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars VERY OVERRATED........
I just don't get all the praise for this cd.I approached this project very enthusiastically and was very disappointed.
5-0 out of 5 stars I was questionable...
At first I wasnt sure what to expect from Christina this time around but she gave me a HUGE surprise with Back to Basics. The first cd is just as good as the 2nd. I must say that the 2nd disc inspired me to go to church! LOL thats how good her vocals are. She is inspiring and proves that she belongs in the music industry for years to come. Good job

5-0 out of 5 stars A remarkable CD set. Great songs, great voice, andgreat spirit.
This is a truly remarkable CD set. I grew up listening to Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, and the Motown singers (no, I'm not that old, I was just the guy dressed like a punk rocker, and liking the Sex Pistols, but actually loving classic Jazz, Blues, and R&B best after being introduced to them by a guy I became friendly with who was a music teacher). It is fairly remarkable to see this diminutive woman and pop phenom known for her slightly raunchy Hip-Hop songs show her true range. From the first time I heard Aguilera several years ago I thought: "This woman really has a set of pipes, I wonder if she'll ever begin to explore her full range." Well she has, and the result is wonderful. I have a feeling it must have been infuriating for her to be in the shadow of that Spears chick, the fellow Mouseketeer, who was all package but really didn't have the voice or style to sing anything real in any idiom. Aguilera pays homage to her antecedents; the numbers stylized versions, some deliberately recorded to simulate the kind of "in the can" sound you encounter when you hear an old Tin Pan Alley classic. Still, these songs remain hers. I am quite astounded. I doubt this album will appeal to many people much over forty. I think even octogenarians would be rocking in their walkers, if they gave it a chance, but that probably won't happen. What I hope is that Aguilera's fan base in their teens and early twenties will be inspired to listen to songs like Dinah Washington's version of "Cry Me a River" or Billie Holiday's "Mean To Me" and know where Aguilera is really coming from. Aguilera is a student of the Masters who came before her (she lays this out so well in the Hip-Hop styled intro), yet she can also deliver the goods. It gives me real hope. Not everything in the music business is, in the end, prepackaged, and there are those out there still carrying the torch and passing it on. Kudos to Aguilera! She may be a tiny woman, but she has a giant voice, and a real spirit. ... Read more

Janet Jackson opens her much-hyped, post-wardrobe-malfunction return to the studio with the following proclamation: "I've covered a lot in my 20 years, and I've uncovered a lot in my 20 years." There's a pause, then a giggle. And then comes an honest breakdown of this disc's DNA: "I want to have fun," chimes Janet (or J., or Miss Jackson if you're nasty and can remember that far back). Fun, then, is what we get. With a light heart, a light vocal touch, and no shortage of quips and unstaged-sounding between-song cut-ups, Janet and her Jermaine Dupri-helmed posse pull together a Sunday afternoon picnic of a disc: "Enjoy," among Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Breathe, Feel Sensual, Imagine It Or Make It Happen!
While the years have passed and artists have come and gone few have remained but a few. Janet Jackson has been around longer than most and this album is her celebration of how she's covered a lot in her 20 years. This CD is about having fun, not being serious, and just feeling great!
    4-0 out of 5 stars JANET'S BACK!!!
hey i just bought this cd from here, got it today... i must say ur reviews did help me in this purchase. I was not always a big fan , but i do love her older work Rhymthm nation and velvet rope are my favs. This cd is very good and quite surprising to me., because i was not fond of the single call on meat first but it grew on me and it was not till i heard so excited that i was interested in buying this cd. So u should definitly pick this up!!! U wont be sorry:)
4-0 out of 5 stars One of Janet's best
For the first time since her "Control" album Janet Jackson uses Executive Producers other than Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis; Jermaine Dupri takes the lead role this time around. I have Janet's entire disography so you can trust me when I say that this is one of her best albums to date. The lyrics aren't really deep or profound, the production isn't the best in the world, and she's very breathy with her voice, but there's something special about it. The album sticks with the listener long after hearing the tracks. Typically, a Janet Jackson album has some depth to it, some social issues, abuse, or even "taking control", but the subject matter on this album is very light. This is probably her simpliest album lyrically.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not her best work
When I heard DejaVu, I thought her CD was gonna be off the chain. I was anticipating her release date. I bought it the very fisrt day. Her CD is nothing compared to her first. Dont get me wrong, she has a fews songs on there that you can get down too. DejaVu, Get me bodied, Upgrade U, Irreplaceable, and Listen are the only songs on her CD that I can listen too with out turning. All the others I think the beats sound the exact same. You can tell who produced what. She said that this is her best CD. I think the total opposite. Dangerously in Love was her best. She showed everyone that she not only can sing R&B, but different genres as well (Rock, Pop) and they still all sounded good. You can ride to the whole CD. B'Day she only stuck with with one genre, and not only that the songs did sound the same. There are not enough songs on the CD, and not enought slow songs. I think she rushed it being that it only took her 2 weeks to record. I am a true Beyonce fan, but I think she should have took more time, and she could've done a whole lot better.

3-0 out of 5 stars What Happened to Beyonce'?
Jay-Z has ruined her. Anybody seen that video where he has her dancing around like some crazed African princess? It looks ridiculous and is way frenetic. I got dizzy watching it. Plus the cover photo of this CD looks like some third rate product from the 1960's. Beyonce, dump Jay-Z and get back to your roots. I like her old stuff much better than this but three stars because hey, it IS Beyonce'.

2-0 out of 5 stars Needs an "Upgrade"
This album was a real let down from Dangerously in Love. You'd expect a more mature, grown sound, still without alienating her younger fan base. Yet instead we got remedial Destiny's Child lyrics circa "Bills, Bills, Bills" & "Bugaboo". Sure, you can dance to most of the tracks; great club beats. But for all that she is hyped up to be (the next Diana Ross), she needs an "Upgrade" HERSELF. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Leave the Trench & Shades at Home
I am a 28-year-old mother of three and I'll have to admit, I just about went to the store in a trench coat and dark shades to buy this CD! I was thinking this was just too "teeny-bopper" for me. Yet, the Making the Band 3 series had me real curious to see what the final product would be. And to my surprise, this album was not a let down at all! I loved the first rack and it had me going all the way to the end! There are a few snoozers on the album, but for the most part, worth the buy (without the disguise).

2-0 out of 5 stars Lukewarm
I was a fan of the show and really liked all the girls that made the group. I think they are all very talented, beautiful, and are ready to work hard to make it in this business. With that said, I was rather disappointed with the CD.. Some of the tracks don't sound very "clean", they sound like drafts still rather than being polished. There are a couple of good tracks on there but I'm surprised that with the kind of talent that went into creating this record that it doesn't sound better. I don't think that's the girls' fault though but rather production.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent debut!! Definately worth the wait!
I first heard Danity Kane's songs on the show Making the Band 3. I watched the show religiously for the two seasons that these extremely talented girls have been there. I really liked the samples of the songs I heard so when I bought the album I was absolutely not disappointed. I love that it is so upbeat and fun(although there are a couple of slower songs). I constantly find myself dancing and rocking my head with the beat of these tracks(People in the cars next to me on the highway must think i'm insane)! I can honestly say that I really like every single song on this album A LOT! Diddy has really found magic in these 5 women. Their voices are absolutely beautiful and the mixture of them is entrancing! I can't wait to see what they create next! ... Read more

After seeing Mamma Mia in Las Vegas I purchased the ABBA Mamma Mia CD.Then I thought I would like to have the original songs and ordered the ABBA-Gold Greatest Hits.I enjoy it a lot; but I prefer the Mamma Mia CD which takes me back to the fun night of actually being in Las Vegas and seeing the musical.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love ABBA
ABBA is still going strong after all these years. Agnetha and Frida's voices are superb, especially in "Dancing Queen," one of their most famous songs.
5-0 out of 5 stars ABBA Rules
Music is relative, and the group Abba set a standard. Not everyone is an Abba fan, thank God. But for those who appreciate them, they are definitely here to stay. For me, Abba didn't begin to fully blossom until the last albums. THE VISITORS and SUPER TROUPER were excellent examples of how much imagination they truely had. To me, everything else was a springboard for them to grow. It's too bad they stopped just as they were beginning to grow. At least they left a hint of true genius. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars 3-1/2 stars -- Not exactly sure what the rush was
Admit it, guys: after catching how good Rihanna looked in the video for "Pon de Replay" and especially "If It's Lovin' That You Want", many of us were crushed to learn that she was only 17. But then I heard that she was already dropping her second album, A Girl Like Me, and the time between the release of this album and Music of the Sun was even shorter than the time between the release of DMX's Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood and It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. In other words, I didn't understand why Rihanna released this album so quickly; maybe it was to get out of her contract with Def Jam?
2-0 out of 5 stars Room For Improvement
Rihanna burst out on to the music scene in the summer of 2005 with her hit single "Pon De Replay". Her debut album, "Music Of The Sun", was released just 3 weeks after the single hit #3 on the Billboard Pop Chart. After a failed attempt at a second single, the repetative "If It's Lovin' The You Want", Def Jam brought in C-List producers Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (Christina Aguilera) to produce the singers sophmore album.
4-0 out of 5 stars Huge Surprise! Album actually is real good!
One of the biggest surprises for me actually this year in terms of music. I mean we had some great offerings like Christina's Back to Basics, Nelly Furtado's Loose, and John Mayer's Continuum(also include India Arie, Mary J Blige, and Bob Dylan). And then we had some disappointments like Beyonce's BDay (come on now and JT -to his fans- is not impressing me either with "Sexyback"). And in terms of new artists the only ones that I had liked was Natasha Bedingfield, Chris Brown (my adolescent relatives got me hooked on that), and Carrie Underwood (yeah you read it!). The reason I'm throwing out names is because Rihanna the artist behind "Pon De Replay" was the last person recently I expected to make a good album, because in some cases I was right before (Ciara being an example for me). But in Rihanna's case I totally misjudged and was glad to have listened to the album. What I love most is the variety of songs in terms of genre (rock, pop, hip/hop, island, r&b). You'd think after listening to "SOS" it would sound all alike and then you're hit with the next two tracks sounding so different and yet good. This was not something you would expect considering her first island-dance album that failed to hit platinum. The album's production is very polished (another surprise) and enjoyable. Now Rihanna isn't the best singer but she knows her limits and tries to stay within them (unlike some artists who I will not name). I'd recommend it but it isn't for everybody. But it is fun and entertaining music. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Tu es mejor en espanol
I love Shakira and have listened to her for years, but honestly she sounds so much better when singing in spanish. I am not a fluent speaker of spanish, but you can tell she has more feeling for the songs she writes and sings in spanish, than those in english. This album is good, but not her best. Hightlights on this album are Hips Don't Lie, and the re mix of La Tortura. I would recommend her first album, Fijacion Oral 1 over this.

1-0 out of 5 stars She has lost her unique identity
The question is: What has happened to Shakira? Where are her familiar, latin, explosive songs? This album has nothing that gives it an original Shakira identity, it's more like Shakira is trying too hard to lose her latina tamperament and become another Cristina Anguilera. I listened to the album once and afterwards could not remember the tune of a single song! The only interesting track is 'Don't bother' where the music is fine but the lyrics are so uninspirational! Furthermore, I'm getting a bit tired of seeing her in every single music video throwing liquids on her body and shaking her hips. Especially when you try to be a rocker, this nonsense a la Jessica Simpson seem so cheap, like you're trying to market yourself, not the music. Plus, she repeatedly 'thickens' her voice which sounds pretentious and at the end of the day, bad.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hits Don't Lie?
When i first purchased Shakira's Oral Fixation vol. 2, i was of course skeptical about what i was getting myself into.I purchased Laundry Service back in 2001 so i was hoping to hear a continuation of Laundry Service.Boy was i wrong and i must say, im glad i am.Laundry Service was an overall adequate listen, nothing memorable besides Whenever Wherever and Underneath your clothes. The first song of VOL. 2, "How Do You do" is so great! The raw beauty that comes out of this womans voice is just compeling yet at times i find myself wishing i could understand some of the stuff she says. I find her pronunciation confussing and tiring at times but with repeated listens to the entire album, i have found that it takes some getting used to.Once you get over the fact that Shakira's voice is unusual, you will see that her voice is a wonderful passionate instrument on its own.

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh GET OVER IT!
Jeez, I almost vomited when I heard that he was coming out with another CD. He has some of the worst vocals I have ever heard, and plus he needs to get over the fact that he split up with Jessica. What's Left of him? NOTHING.
5-0 out of 5 stars Emotion You can Feel
First of all, I have to say that if you read my reviews, you can clearly see I'm not a fan of this genre of music.I tend to be more of a hard rock/alternative kind of guy. However, my girlfriend at the time turned me onto this CD, after she kept on playing it in her car every time I got in.I have to say, I was blown away.
3-0 out of 5 stars Sing a Happy song
I like the fact that he had something to sing about. and he sang about it in a way he could connect to the people have this cd.But can a man wine anymore than he does about a lost love one song about losing love ok 2 is fine even but the whole record became depressing after a while I couldn't take it so if you are in the mood to be brought down by a person wining about love then this is the cd for you. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Jessica at the top of her game!
I've liked Jessica from the start of her career in the 90s but I became a bonafide fan after Newlyweds. Her album at the time, 'In This Skin', was alright for me, it had a couple standout tracks but mostly filler. I didnt like it because it was really boring with ballad after ballad.
3-0 out of 5 stars Average Fare From Average Talent
True talent never fades. It builds on its legacy with each succeeding generation. That's why people are still buying CDs by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and country singer Patsy Cline. Jessica Simpson is a nice, good looking kid (with a really weird dad). But she's not particularly talented. Her voice is often overwrought and its painful to watch her facial gyrations when she sings. This was obvious when she teamed with Jewel for a duet on one of hers and Nick's specials. Jewel's voice was lyrical and seamless, Jessica's was forced and unpolished. She might have a future in acting as she has a comical, self deprecating quality that's endearing. But the music is nothing special.

    5-0 out of 5 stars JESSICA...LOVE THIS CD !!!
I really think that most of the people leaving reviews for this cd are those who have issue with Jessica herself. Read the reviews by Amazon, Allmusic.com and most all reviews for this cd are raves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Earth, Wind, and Fire Get Spectacular Compilation Treatment
Earth, Wind, and Fire was one of the most feel-good, uplifting, influential soul bands ever, and they will always be remembered for their diverse songs and exuberant performances in which many members got up on the stage and danced and sang.
5-0 out of 5 stars What a POSITIVE MESSAGE from the past
Just listen to "SING A SONG" and try not to sing along in a falsetto voice! It never ceases to amaze me that EWF's message was one of positivity, self esteem, and was UPLIFTING!
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent collection!
I bought this CD about a year ago.It is a dynamic, excellent collection of Earth, Wind & Fire's best songs. They go from 1973 to 1981 with the hits and even included the heavily requested Reasons. When I first heard them in 1978, I thought that their 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976 hits were all new, all off of one new album. But these songs from various years just showed me the massive impact they had in the '70s.The live band, the emphasis on horns and a complete band playing music and tearing it up.And funky songs like September, Serpentine Fire, Getaway, Boogie Wonderland and others. Maurice White's knew what he wanted out of this band and they're still doing it over 35 years later with live performances in 2006! Although I miss Maurice in the band, Verdine White, Philip Bailey and this other fellow are keeping his dream alive.Other favorites I like are Let's Groove, That's the Way of the World, the mellow After the Love has Gone and others. They chose a good 17 for this collection, and while it's not the most perfect, it fully compiles their success of hits and well requested songs! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars I refuse to gush *just* because it's Madonna
Despite the seemingly endless fanfare and continual play on the floors of retail clothing stores across the country, I must say I was disappointed with this album - even despite approaching it with the most modest of expectations. I have always seem Madonna as a highly effective marketer, rather than a songwriter, and that impression was firmly entrenched by this album.
5-0 out of 5 stars ZOWIE...
One word... Amazing!!!Well maybe more words... Madonna continues to go beyond what any of us ever expect. This album is about 5 years in the future if not more. It's hard to believe that someday we'll listen to this CD as something out of date, but now that I've listened to it about 6 times, I already consider her albums, "Music" and "Ray of Light" not as cutting edge as they were when they both came out. This album surpasses them beautifully. As my friend Drew said best, "...she knows how to set a trend and set a trend very very well."Again, AMAZING CD.Keep it coming, Madonna. (ps. I love the fact that I'm only about one year older than her, which continues to make me feel good---that I ain't old at all.) (Another ps. While the reviewer before my own posted review doesn't like the album, which he/she is entitled to, I must add that this IS a disco album, so what it lacks in lyrics [somewhat weak; you have to listen between the lines], it makes up for in music composition, which is robust, very unique and yes, for the die-hard Madonna fans, very dance-able.)

1-0 out of 5 stars Stuck in the 70'S
This ALbum is total trash, the only good track is "Get Together" Other than that...........its totally not worth it. But everyone writing reviews are madonna queens so they will enjoy anything she puts out. 2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Disappoint . . .
This album is really hard to rate.It is an awful album and I would not recommend it to anyone, yet it is better than what I thought Paris could do and I did not get bored listening to it.The production is phenomenal (think Britney's last album "In the Zone") and Paris, while not a genius at writing songs, did co-write almost all of the songs.Virtually no one cares about these things though. The sole determinant of whether you like or dislike this album is whether you buy into the Paris Hilton Brand.
1-0 out of 5 stars Move to France, Paris
This woman can't sing or act and she's nasty. Why line her pockets for a bad product? I don't get it. She looks stupid, she's devoid of personality or talent, and a major skank. Yet the world hangs on her every monosyllabic utterance. Have we degenerated into a nation of low life idiots or what?

3-0 out of 5 stars Infectious but over-produced
Love her ot hate her Paris Hilton is a star in her own right- successful perfumes, a best-seller, a hit TV show and many inspid movies under her belt she has now decided to tackle the music industry. The album is full of infectious club/pop tracks like "Stars Are Blind", "Turn It Up" and "Nothing In This World" but the over-production rises speculation as to wheter Paris can sing or not (most probably not!). That aside, the album is a step in the right direction of what pop music should be like. ... Read more

In the United Kingdom, New Zealand-born Natasha Bedingfield and brother Daniel Bedingfield have seemingly taken up permanent residence at the top of the pop charts. He's an earnest rocker with a dance music bent. She's an altogether more exciting prospect--a singer-songwriter who refuses to sit still, charging through decadent R&B ("Single"), jittery electro-pop ("I'm A Bomb") and first-class balladry ("I Bruise Easily"), invoking the likes of Beyonce and Gwen Stefani. And, okay, sometimes Nelly Furtado. An all-star production team, including former Robbie Williams collaborator Guy Chambers, makes for a debut that sounds like an instant greatest-hits set--just add cheekbones. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars First Greatest Hits of the most successful female pop artist of all times
This is a greatest hits collection defining the first 7 years of Madonna's career (1983-1990) that established her as the most successful and influential female pop-rock artist of all times. The first three singles "Holiday", "Lucky Star" and "Borderline" are from her debut album Madonna (1983). It was really the title track from the album "Like A Virgin" that gave Madonna the breakthrough. She defined her image as the liberal young woman who was not afraid of or ashamed of her sexuality. an image that continues to influence females' artists even today (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Shakira, and many others). It was really Madonna that created the "sexy, liberal young woman image" for all her successors to follow. "Like A Virgin" was followed by "Material Girl", where Madonna boldly states the nature of the modern world and how she openly declares she shares the very same nature.
4-0 out of 5 stars Madonna
I like this artist because she is a controversy person. She didn't care about what you are going to think about her. She is unique. She was the first female artist to have control of her music and image. I like how she manipulates the media and her public with her music, videos and her sexuality. She started from nothing and now she is a celebrity who sells a millions of records. Madonna is one of my favorite artist. I enjoy listening her music.

5-0 out of 5 stars As "greatest hits" albums go, they don't get much better than this.
"The Immaculate Collection", however unfortunately titled, is a superior career summary of one of the brightest-burning pop stars we have ever seen.
