3-0 out of 5 stars ok then
I understand that people enjoy this album. I myself like a lot of the tracks a lot and am impressed with timbaland's work, but I don't understand how people can rank this as one of the best when artists like michael jackson and prince did it much better and justin is ripping them off. I guess it's cooler to like justin cause he's younger but to say he's the best when he's really manufactured and works with a bunch of big names that produce most of his work and wardrobe for him is not fair.

4-0 out of 5 stars "Tell me which way you like that", JT is back with solo CD #2
I never have a problem telling people that I never liked N Sync. The only 2 songs that I ever liked that they did were "This I Promise You" and "Gone". It even took alot of convincing from a friend of mine that liked music to buy "Justified".He told me that the CD had a r&b feel to it although N Sync strictly did pop music 99.9% of the time.Once I purchased "Justified", I was impressed by Mr. JT, as Timbaland called him on "(Oh No) What You Got)". My favorite tracks ended up being "Last Night", "Take It From Here", "Still On My Brain", "Like I Love You" w/Clipse, and "Cry Me A River" as well as, "(Oh No) What You Got".
5-0 out of 5 stars The Sexy was already here, but I likes it!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably the third greatest CD in the history of the world, behind Hasselhoff(just put them all under one title because they are all unreal) and Centerfield by John Fogerty. JT is just off tha hook with dance jams that make me breakdance like I won't get dinner if I don't slap the room around with a moonwalk. He also slows it down so you can come in high and tight with your sweet muffin. Squeeze the muffin turbo! I'm a great dancer, I know that is assumed, but this CD takes me to another level not seen since Boogaloo Shrimp tore the wall off the place in Breakin 2, electric boogaloo. I walked into my favorite club the other night, Frankendance, and "Sexyback" was playing on the system. I took off my sequin robe and it was Mcbowlerpimp cold lampin. I was doing moves that no one had ever seen or smelled before. I moonwalked in a rhombus pattern!! There was no name for that so we called it chunderwinkles. I was on fire, so they sprayed me down with an extinguisher and I kept going. I was getting women's numbers in the middle of dance moves. I know, you can't pull that off. Jabs had to grab a pen and paper because I couldn't keep up with all of the offers of love for the evening. I can take the game to levels not seen since Ricky Schroeder on Silver Spoons. I tell you this story to lay out my only complaint about this CD. JT didn't bring the "sexy" back. I ran a newspaper ad in July of 2003 declaring that I had decided to bring the sexy back. I was laying low for awhile and locked the sexy in a treasure chest like a pirate would have. I didn't think the world was ready for sexy with everything going on in the middle east. In July of 03, I figured I would take the sexy out of the box and bring it back. I brought it back at 10 lies in 03. It was front page news in the Syracuse paper the next day. Sexy was back. I'm OK with JT taking it worldwide, but I thought I would let everyone know what's up. Average and me were close when I was 4, but I moved 3 time zones from it the next year and haven't looked back. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars VERY OVERRATED........
I just don't get all the praise for this cd.I approached this project very enthusiastically and was very disappointed.
5-0 out of 5 stars I was questionable...
At first I wasnt sure what to expect from Christina this time around but she gave me a HUGE surprise with Back to Basics. The first cd is just as good as the 2nd. I must say that the 2nd disc inspired me to go to church! LOL thats how good her vocals are. She is inspiring and proves that she belongs in the music industry for years to come. Good job

5-0 out of 5 stars A remarkable CD set. Great songs, great voice, andgreat spirit.
This is a truly remarkable CD set. I grew up listening to Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, and the Motown singers (no, I'm not that old, I was just the guy dressed like a punk rocker, and liking the Sex Pistols, but actually loving classic Jazz, Blues, and R&B best after being introduced to them by a guy I became friendly with who was a music teacher). It is fairly remarkable to see this diminutive woman and pop phenom known for her slightly raunchy Hip-Hop songs show her true range. From the first time I heard Aguilera several years ago I thought: "This woman really has a set of pipes, I wonder if she'll ever begin to explore her full range." Well she has, and the result is wonderful. I have a feeling it must have been infuriating for her to be in the shadow of that Spears chick, the fellow Mouseketeer, who was all package but really didn't have the voice or style to sing anything real in any idiom. Aguilera pays homage to her antecedents; the numbers stylized versions, some deliberately recorded to simulate the kind of "in the can" sound you encounter when you hear an old Tin Pan Alley classic. Still, these songs remain hers. I am quite astounded. I doubt this album will appeal to many people much over forty. I think even octogenarians would be rocking in their walkers, if they gave it a chance, but that probably won't happen. What I hope is that Aguilera's fan base in their teens and early twenties will be inspired to listen to songs like Dinah Washington's version of "Cry Me a River" or Billie Holiday's "Mean To Me" and know where Aguilera is really coming from. Aguilera is a student of the Masters who came before her (she lays this out so well in the Hip-Hop styled intro), yet she can also deliver the goods. It gives me real hope. Not everything in the music business is, in the end, prepackaged, and there are those out there still carrying the torch and passing it on. Kudos to Aguilera! She may be a tiny woman, but she has a giant voice, and a real spirit. ... Read more

Janet Jackson opens her much-hyped, post-wardrobe-malfunction return to the studio with the following proclamation: "I've covered a lot in my 20 years, and I've uncovered a lot in my 20 years." There's a pause, then a giggle. And then comes an honest breakdown of this disc's DNA: "I want to have fun," chimes Janet (or J., or Miss Jackson if you're nasty and can remember that far back). Fun, then, is what we get. With a light heart, a light vocal touch, and no shortage of quips and unstaged-sounding between-song cut-ups, Janet and her Jermaine Dupri-helmed posse pull together a Sunday afternoon picnic of a disc: "Enjoy," among Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Breathe, Feel Sensual, Imagine It Or Make It Happen!
While the years have passed and artists have come and gone few have remained but a few. Janet Jackson has been around longer than most and this album is her celebration of how she's covered a lot in her 20 years. This CD is about having fun, not being serious, and just feeling great!
    4-0 out of 5 stars JANET'S BACK!!!
hey i just bought this cd from here, got it today... i must say ur reviews did help me in this purchase. I was not always a big fan , but i do love her older work Rhymthm nation and velvet rope are my favs. This cd is very good and quite surprising to me., because i was not fond of the single call on meat first but it grew on me and it was not till i heard so excited that i was interested in buying this cd. So u should definitly pick this up!!! U wont be sorry:)
4-0 out of 5 stars One of Janet's best
For the first time since her "Control" album Janet Jackson uses Executive Producers other than Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis; Jermaine Dupri takes the lead role this time around. I have Janet's entire disography so you can trust me when I say that this is one of her best albums to date. The lyrics aren't really deep or profound, the production isn't the best in the world, and she's very breathy with her voice, but there's something special about it. The album sticks with the listener long after hearing the tracks. Typically, a Janet Jackson album has some depth to it, some social issues, abuse, or even "taking control", but the subject matter on this album is very light. This is probably her simpliest album lyrically.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not her best work
When I heard DejaVu, I thought her CD was gonna be off the chain. I was anticipating her release date. I bought it the very fisrt day. Her CD is nothing compared to her first. Dont get me wrong, she has a fews songs on there that you can get down too. DejaVu, Get me bodied, Upgrade U, Irreplaceable, and Listen are the only songs on her CD that I can listen too with out turning. All the others I think the beats sound the exact same. You can tell who produced what. She said that this is her best CD. I think the total opposite. Dangerously in Love was her best. She showed everyone that she not only can sing R&B, but different genres as well (Rock, Pop) and they still all sounded good. You can ride to the whole CD. B'Day she only stuck with with one genre, and not only that the songs did sound the same. There are not enough songs on the CD, and not enought slow songs. I think she rushed it being that it only took her 2 weeks to record. I am a true Beyonce fan, but I think she should have took more time, and she could've done a whole lot better.

3-0 out of 5 stars What Happened to Beyonce'?
Jay-Z has ruined her. Anybody seen that video where he has her dancing around like some crazed African princess? It looks ridiculous and is way frenetic. I got dizzy watching it. Plus the cover photo of this CD looks like some third rate product from the 1960's. Beyonce, dump Jay-Z and get back to your roots. I like her old stuff much better than this but three stars because hey, it IS Beyonce'.

2-0 out of 5 stars Needs an "Upgrade"
This album was a real let down from Dangerously in Love. You'd expect a more mature, grown sound, still without alienating her younger fan base. Yet instead we got remedial Destiny's Child lyrics circa "Bills, Bills, Bills" & "Bugaboo". Sure, you can dance to most of the tracks; great club beats. But for all that she is hyped up to be (the next Diana Ross), she needs an "Upgrade" HERSELF. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars disappointed
i really, really, reallllly wanted to like this album, but, even after multiple listens, the majority of the tracks here just seem like filler.i fell asleep halfway through the record.it's a shame that the bonus tracks steal the show here ["transistor" and "making ladies" especially].it's almost as if they were trying too hard to sound fresh... when all they had to do was let their new york roots grow out.the packaging seems very gimicky.i like that they took risks with this one, but sadly, it doesn't work.*cringe* despite my opinion of this album however, the scissor sisters ROCK and more power to 'em.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real gem!
The Scissor Sisters have done it again, folks. This album just may be better than their first one.You might even catch your mom dancing to it, or at least tapping her foot. The world of music just wouldn't be the same without the Sisters!

5-0 out of 5 stars YAAAYYYY!!!!!
This CD makes me so happy! It's like the Sisters took all the little soundbites from a late-night TV commercial selling a definitive "Music of the 70's (and maybe the very early 80's)" collection - you know the ones where you just hear the title of the song as the other song titles are scrolling by and the one you're hearing becomes blue or green or whatever color the other ones are not? - so they took all those 'bites from Helen Reddy and the Partridge Family and Leo Sayer and Pink Floyd and Blondie and they scrunched them all up into a marshmallow-like ear-pleasing spongy fluid and made a CD out of it. It's so dang cool!Favorite lyric of the year... "I can't decide whether you should live or die... you'll probably go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry."I have a couple of coworkers whose voice evokes the rampant humming of thatline inside my head. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars New album, new sound
Like some other reviewers, the more I listen to this CD the more I like it. I found it to be a good CD to listen to for relaxation and exercising the imagination. Few tracks are memorable, but I felt it was all worth it for Goodbye Milky Way and Sitting on the Moon. I really like how Enigma creates a different sound and mood for each of their albums. I know of some music artists who never do that, and each album they come out with is predictable and the same. With Enigma, I always look forward to their releases because I know they'll have some new surprises.

4-0 out of 5 stars Give it Time
I completely agree with ROCKET's review. At first I said, "ehh, its OK." But as I listened again and again--with a good sound system--I was addicted. I still feel its not as good as their first four albums, but definitely better than their last.

2-0 out of 5 stars This is not the best CD
Enigma always was enigma bcause of this samples enigmatics ,gregorians ,africans voices ,thats why enigma was good ,this is not enigma music this is eurodance or trance or what ever and enigma is not the king in this type of music ,so I dont think this is a good Enigma's CD ,I think this is a little better than Voyageur CD ,but is not enigma anymore .the must beautiful song is Goodbye Milky way .. the music is not bad at all ,but it is not enigma's music .this is a different thing. ... John Legend proves that he is indeed capable of living up to the tall prophesy of his name (adopted or otherwise) on this great new album featuring a smorgasbord of songs that recall everyone from Otis Redding to Lauren Hill to Jeff Buckley. Some of the songs may be a tad too long, and "Coming Home" feels middle-of-the-road, but these are minor quibbles for an album studded with standout tracks.Destined for multiple Grammys. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An ecclectic, thoroughly entertaining record
I first heard the Scissor Sisters' music when a friend of mine played me a couple videos of theirs. At first, I thought it was Fleetwood Mac (please note, I was listening and not paying any attention to the actual video). When I heard it was a relatively new band, one with such a distinctively retro sound, I immediately became interested.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best CD I've bought in years
So rarely do I buy a CD that I find myself listening to over and over again without getting sick of it. This is the first CD in many years I've been able to play repeatedly, loving it more each time I hear it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good, Though Not As Good as their debut; 3.5 Stars
After making both one of the most hailed and one of the most controversial albums of 2004, Scissor Sisters had to find a new path for their much anticipated sophomore album TA-DAH. You have to feel some sympathy for the quirky band considering how do you supercede or surpass a gay concept album the quality of SCISSOR SISTERS.Sure TA-DAH once again affirms the sexuality of the majority of the band through glamorous pop things, but it is nowhere near the level of SCISSOR SISTERS.With that said, TA-DAH is consistent and nearly as good as SCISSOR SISTERS, though it isn't as exciting. Here you don't have the "gay-concept" think as heavily as ingrained as the debut and the listener must rely on the pop, dance, electronic arrangements more as opposed to the lyrics such as "t*ts on the radio" or "I left My heart in San Francisco/ at a motherf**king disco".While there may be no hit the size of "Take Your Mam", the Sisters have definitely still got it, if not to the same exciting level as they did before.

I am a 28-year-old mother of three and I'll have to admit, I just about went to the store in a trench coat and dark shades to buy this CD! I was thinking this was just too "teeny-bopper" for me. Yet, the Making the Band 3 series had me real curious to see what the final product would be. And to my surprise, this album was not a let down at all! I loved the first rack and it had me going all the way to the end! There are a few snoozers on the album, but for the most part, worth the buy (without the disguise).

2-0 out of 5 stars Lukewarm
I was a fan of the show and really liked all the girls that made the group. I think they are all very talented, beautiful, and are ready to work hard to make it in this business. With that said, I was rather disappointed with the CD.. Some of the tracks don't sound very "clean", they sound like drafts still rather than being polished. There are a couple of good tracks on there but I'm surprised that with the kind of talent that went into creating this record that it doesn't sound better. I don't think that's the girls' fault though but rather production.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent debut!! Definately worth the wait!
I first heard Danity Kane's songs on the show Making the Band 3. I watched the show religiously for the two seasons that these extremely talented girls have been there. I really liked the samples of the songs I heard so when I bought the album I was absolutely not disappointed. I love that it is so upbeat and fun(although there are a couple of slower songs). I constantly find myself dancing and rocking my head with the beat of these tracks(People in the cars next to me on the highway must think i'm insane)! I can honestly say that I really like every single song on this album A LOT! Diddy has really found magic in these 5 women. Their voices are absolutely beautiful and the mixture of them is entrancing! I can't wait to see what they create next! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Subtly, strangely catchy..brave new world robotic pop..
From the beginning of the title song on Thom Yorke's new solo album, with the grainy piano sample and all, I was prepared to not like this album. This album is predominantly electronic, and I really like electronic music (Warp, Aphex, Global Goon, Boards, Plaid). I even liked Radiohead's last few albums more than anyone I know, most of my friends despise them. But I was hoping Yorke would do something on this "side project" more like old Radiohead, honestly. Right, expectations dashed, and once I got over that, I could appreciate this album for what it is.
5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant. You just have to give it time.
I was immensely dissapointed with this album the first time I heard it. But I kept listening and one day it just clicked. First it was Harrowdown Hill...possibly the best song of the year in my opinion, then "And it rained all night" then slowly every song on this album became a masterpiece, there is a certain gradiousity in this albums simplicity. Seriously, If you like Kid A, Amnesiac, or Hail to the Theif...you will come around on this. One of the top 5 albums I've heard this year.

1-0 out of 5 stars Thom Yorke: no talent big-mouth with nothing to say
Funny how black kids outta Harlem and Watts know the score when it comes to capitalism (it works if you let it) despite having never benefited from it, yet rich white kids view it with nothing short of contempt and disdain, as if "work" were another dirty four-letter word.

5-0 out of 5 stars Y UN DIA VOLVIERON
Para todos los fans de DPM, estos 2 DVDs y un CD son simplemente extraordinarios.
2-0 out of 5 stars hold the camera still
cinematography is crap..too many cheap effects...jump cuts, makes for a rough viewing especially compared to devotional or one night in paris..also the sound is flat...does not seem to be very inspired...

5-0 out of 5 stars The best DM live dvd by far
This is by far the most enjoyable dvd by DM. Yes i am sure that Devotional DVD and Exciter DVD were great but in terms of denstiy and powerful, it seems that this dvd is better, Anton is great for making music video but i don't think he is good for live performance as the camera angels in Devotional DVD and Exciter DVD looked plain and focus too much on the screens and stage (which he designed).Yes, i agreed with other reviewers that there're a bit too much of effect on this

4-0 out of 5 stars Everything old is new again
A friend introduced me to two songs from this group and I got hooked and ordered a few CDs.I've listened to this one over and over again and while I like some songs more than others it was definitely money well spent.
4-0 out of 5 stars Oldtimer likes it too
I've been a fan of Pink Floyd since the 70's.I never much cared for the whole disco movement in the 80's, so why do I like this album so much?Maybe it's just that good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good stuff.
Don't pay attention to people leaving one star reviews, all they have to say about the album is that they can't believe that anyone has the nerve to cover Comfortably Numb this way.

Anyone looking for the key to Abba's enduring appeal should look no further than "Voulez Vous" and "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" for their answer. There was an innocence to the Swedish quartet, even when they were singing about one-night stands and the invitations to them. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ABBA Gold vs Mamma Mia
After seeing Mamma Mia in Las Vegas I purchased the ABBA Mamma Mia CD.Then I thought I would like to have the original songs and ordered the ABBA-Gold Greatest Hits.I enjoy it a lot; but I prefer the Mamma Mia CD which takes me back to the fun night of actually being in Las Vegas and seeing the musical.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love ABBA
ABBA is still going strong after all these years. Agnetha and Frida's voices are superb, especially in "Dancing Queen," one of their most famous songs.
5-0 out of 5 stars ABBA Rules
Music is relative, and the group Abba set a standard. Not everyone is an Abba fan, thank God. But for those who appreciate them, they are definitely here to stay. For me, Abba didn't begin to fully blossom until the last albums. THE VISITORS and SUPER TROUPER were excellent examples of how much imagination they truely had. To me, everything else was a springboard for them to grow. It's too bad they stopped just as they were beginning to grow. At least they left a hint of true genius. ... Read more

Some music is celebrated for its elegant subtlety; Pink's slams you over the head. Four albums in, she's not changing her formula.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not much replay
Although I enjoyed some of the songs on this disc, it rarely ever makes its way into my stereo now. Some of the songs are a little slow for Pink, yet some are very catchy and melodic.Merely a decent pop cd.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST CD EVER!
OH My God what can I say about this CD! Nothing Short of that!! RUN GET IT AND LISTEN! Its a girls girls music! Alicia/Pink is coming across so mature and so dead honest, her music and lyrics her magic moment voice sound many different ways in all her songs here. I currently listen to this in my Suv, at home and in my Mp3! One cant helped but get pumped and want to learn every single lyric. Pink is an inspiration, she makes me want to learn to play some insturment or sing. This music here is awesome to work out to.
5-0 out of 5 stars Still Alive and Rockin!!
I would have to say this is by far P!NK's best album, replacing my first favorite "Missundastood".This album probably got the most play time of all my CD's this summer. The honest lyrics and catchy beats stick in my mind for hours of happiness.I was happy to see an equal balance of up-beat, girlpower anthems and soulful songs.A must have for every girl, woman, etc. ...
