Bring me two free albums
Don't I wish they would. Unfortunately, I'm going to have purchase it. My cd player died and ate my original copy of this double album.I think this is one of Garth Brooks' greatest albums which, from me is high praise. I am a fan of Garth Brooks but not a fanatic fan,if you understand my meaning, and I have do not always want to purchase his albums. This album, however,is different. Even if the album I originally purchased had not met its doom in the jaws of a cd eating player, I'd probably want a second copy of it. The selection of songs is fantastic and those special extras, the long versions of The Thunder Rolls and Friends In High Places just add to the enjoyment of this great double ablum. I consider it a must buy.

Got this cd in Limited Series box & I love it
I got this Double Live Cd in Garth Brooks Walmart Limited series box and it is my favorite. I have never been a big Garth Brooks fan but I did like some of his songs like Friends in Low Places but now I like his more upbeat songs like Papa loved Mama, Callin' Baton Rouge and Tearin' it up. I also like more serious songs like The Thunder Rolls, Unanswered Prayers and Standing Outside The Fire. I don't really like the other Cd's that came in the box other than the dvd with music videos and live performances. The double live sounds great and yes he does let the audience sing like in unanswered prayers but its still good.

If you don't know Garth, you're missing out!
I must have been under a rock all my life b/c only recently a friend of mine introduced me to Garth Brooks.I don't know why I was so against opening up to country music all these years, b/c this stuff is truly a pleasure to listen to!

CD t hat makes you smile!
What a great CD.A talented artist with intelligent,funny lyrics at his best LIVE!

Captures Great Energy of LIVE Peformance :)
After seeing Lyle in Oshkosh, Wisconsin last month, I find that I have been playing LL's live album in the car over and over remembering what a professional performance I saw at Leach Amphitheatre.It was a warm night,with temps in the high 80's with a half-moon rising over the nearby river, much like a Texas night. Lyle played for two and a-half hours.It was a great and relaxing time for my wife Debbie and I.A perfect evening. WOW!

Best Lyle Lovett to date, with most of his signature songs.
If you're unitiated, your first thoughts tend to be to think of Lyle Lovett as primarily a Country Music guy with odd hair and who married Julia Roberts - that's from a random sampling of my younger musician friends. Then, I pop in Lyle Lovett Live in Texas, and let them listen to "Penguins," the opening track. The tight drums, horn section and bass guitar work always gets them frowning, and saying "THAT'S Lyle Lovett???" followed by a series of comparisons of this music to some music they already like.

This is a great live recording of beautifully executed bluegrass music by Ricky Skaggs and his band of incredible musicians.My tastes in bluegrass generally run to the more traditional - but this album would appeal to the "newgrass" crowd AND to people like me.The instrumentation and vocals are simply superb - one would be hard-pressed to find a better group of musicians in bluegrass music today than this group.This album has a little bit for everybody - real Stanley Bros. classics like "On a Lonesome Night" and "How Mtn. Girls Can Love" - original instrumentals by Ricky Skaggs - smokin' versions of Monroe tunes like "Uncle Pen" and "Get Up John" - the latter, in particular, simply blew me away.The recording quality is superb - in general, this is a fantastic album and I highly recommend it.

Thunder Struck
Phenomenal recording.Brilliant band.Scaggs & Co. will knock the John Deere hat off the top of your head, and maybe take some of your skull with it.These guys are a veritable bluegrass army to be reckoned with.This CD from Charleston captures the live energy wonderfully.One of my faves.

BEST EVER!
I am a true fan of bluegrass...but this album takes the prize!I bought this for my husband for Valentine's Day and we can't quit listening!My 6 yr. old and 3 yr. old go around singing "Black-Eyed Susie", "Simple Life" and of course..."Country rocks, but Bluegrass RULES"! The last instrumental on the album is GREAT...it is over 8 minutes long and keeps your toes tapping the ENTIRE time!If you like Bluegrass...after listening to this...you will LOVE it and will want more of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. great songs, poor recording
This would have been a great show to have witnessed.Very few liverecordings have the quality of sound that we are so accustomed to thesedays and this is no exception.This recording does convey the spirit ofthe event and the sheer enjoyment of the musicians in performing. Hopefully their studio recordings have the same good qualities and goodrecording as well.That is what I am purchasing next and advising whoeverreads this to do.

Since I live in Austin, Texas, I was one of the lucky ones that was able to attend both shows from which this album was recorded.As with most live CDs, the recording cannot meausre up to the live show, but the music onthis CD is great.Read more

One of the 3 or 4 Dwight Yoakam albums you need to own
Even if you have his greatest hits, the Reprise box set, or albums containing the studio versions of these songs, this live album is STILL a MUST. The energy and musicianship, not mention Dwight's own incomparable vocals, are fantatsic. And there are great live versions of songs you can't find anywhere else, like Rocky Road Blues, Fast As You, Long White Cadillac, Two Doors Down and more. Whether you're just now catching on to the genius and talent of DY's music, or are already a fan with lots of his albums, this is one you won't regret owning. It'd certainly one of my top 3 favorites.

Now, if this doesn't stop you, nothing -will-... unless you're truly the adventurous sort. I am -not- a country music fan. I'm not even a Dwight -fan- (unless I'm seated in front of a stage he is -on- or a movie he is -in-.) I admit to being a rocker, and a -progressive rocker- at that.

I purchased two of the Patsy Cline CDs as family gifts. They were a big hit to the over 50 crowd. Patsy is a favorite.

If you are a Patsy Cline Fan
This is a wonderful collection/story that honors Patsy Cline.It is entertaining and the recordings are great!You will enjoy this CD tremendously, if you like Patsy Cline.

Homage at its best!
I saw Mandy Barnett play Patsy at the Ryman in Nashville and was sure she was lipsyncing. I was truly blown away. She has Patsy down to a "T". Of course anyone who expects the real Patsy will be disappointed because this is just an excellent interpretation of the famous country star. I would recommend this for anyone who saw the play or intends to. It is a wonderful reminder of a real friendship between Loiuse (through her story telling) and one of country musics pioneers.Read more

In spite of his many new forays into the world of acting, Randy Travis will always be country music's Great Stoneface, an unreadable character with one of the five greatest male voices in country history. Travis's singing is so rich, so spot-on, he could revarnish an entire patio with a single three-minute tune. Travis live is just like Travis on record, except that when he has a good audience there's a buoyancy not usually found on disc, which happens to be the case on this concert album. Clocking in at nearly 80 minutes, the CD is a companion to the DVD, released simultaneously, but it's more than just a Travis hits package: it's an hour and 20 minutes of Travis at his best, doing his best tunes, for an audience that really cares. 18 x 3 minutes of the same stuff
When travelling the States (frequently coming over from Europe) it�s hard to avoid Randy Travis on any of the stations, and I must admit that I have hummed along to a lot of his songs, too. Nice live music, but sounds a lot like the studio versions
This is a nice album of early live hits at Austin City Limits. The only draw back is many of the songs sound very similar to to the studio versions. Compared to the DVD (which I liked better) much of the dialog with the audience was cut out of the CD. Dwight fans will like this, but it's hard to recommend it to anyone else. It's okay, but nothing spectacular. Dwight's other live album is much better and easier to reccomend. A newer Dwight Yoakam live album would have been a better CD by New West Records.

I love this album.It features Dwight singing in his pristine 80s vocals, which I consider his height.This is the best live album I own.It'sa smokin' good deal at 14 bucks for this vintage Austin City Limits 1988 treasure that has been newly released from New West Records.The only drawbacks for me is that it didn't have my favorite song on it "Long White Cadillac", which he probably hadn't recorded yet anyway.This is a perfect collection of his early and best work live. ... Fireworks! This CD has it all!
Of all the Live CD's out there. The top 3 favorites are #3. Bee Gees "Live"....#2. Jim Croce "Live"....#1. Alabama "Live". One of the 80's/90's best (concert) country groups is Alabama. When these guys put on a concert you could feel the energy, heart and soul pouring out into the stands. This CD contains some of their best hits from their first two Greatest Hits CD's but, performed live. From the first song "You Can't Keep A Good Man Down" to the last "My Home's In Alabama" this one delivers! Although they could have included the song that pays tribute to us "The Fans". Alabama Live is still worth listing to after all these years.

More tracks than the LP version
I have it both on vinyl and cassette, but the cassette has more tracks.This is one of the best live country albums I ever owned.And it's a bargain too.

Worth hunting down for the Alabama fan
Since several of the tracks seem to be duplicates of 1988's "Live," only the true completist would call this a must-have.The Jeff Cook-fronted "Takin' Care of Business," however, is an unexpected surprise, showing the group's versatility and Cook's strength as a frontman. The cd itself does not say live, BUT, it IS advertised that way and the copy I bought, did have the additional sticker on the front that DID advertise it as LIVE.Good collection from a great band, but if you're a fan, you've probably got every single song on here, and were disappointed that it was not indeed live... Pretty shady marketing... probably no fault of the group, but still deceptive....

Farewell Boys....you'll be missed.
The title says it all.It's their Farewell Tour album.By producing this album they allow a different variety of songs on one album for their fans.If you didn't get to go to any of their shows on the Farewell Tour, then you wouldn't realize that the songs on this album are songs that they sung on this specific tour.That's why the title says American Farewell Tour.Nowhere does it's a live cd.Please stop your complaining and give my Boys the respect they deserve.

This album shows just how awesome Tracy Lawrence can sing!!!
My very close friend told me about Tracy Larence (Live) but sort of didn't believe him that there was such an album out their. Reason being was because i had never heard of it.We both love Tracy Lawrence and we alsofeel that all his songs seem to have meaning to them and thats what reallycounts.He has a good voice and it seems that every album he comes outwith seems to make it to the top of the charts. In the album you can reallyhear how his fans really appreciate Tracy Lawrence's music and just like meyou have to listen to believe it. So I thank my dear tweety bird forletting me listen to the CD. To everyone this CD is definetly worth it!!!!!

Not what I'd hoped
I had high hopes when I stumbled upon this import, because the track list included some of the Mavericks' best songs. I was particularly encouraged to see that the program featured "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down," a song I'd watched them perform on TV. That performance, which must have run at least 10-15 minutes, was a tour de force, with great solos by several members of the group. I assumed the reason for this CD's short track list was that "Bottle" and the six other songs appeared in extended concert versions. For the most part, that proved to not be the case: The whole disc clocks in at only about 30 minutes and "Bottle" appears in a relatively prosaic three-minute version. Don't get me wrong: There's not a bad track on the album, and Mavericks fans should enjoy every minute. There just aren't enough of those minutes, and "Bottle" in particular will disappoint anyone who has seen what the Mavericks can do with it.

You'll play this one over and over again...
I bought this CD about 8 months ago, put it in the 6th disc slot in my carand have never removed it.This is a great CD -- all of their best songsperformed live!!The Mavericks are hard to categorize -- they aren'treally country and they aren't really alt country.But, if you are readyfor something that is a little bit different and haven't yet become aMavericks fan, get this CD.My favorite song on this CD, Rancho Grande,really showcases the Mavericks talent and unique taste.

Live recordings of his Greatest Hits
This collection is priced right, but you might be better off spending a little extra money buying his one of his other "Greatest Hits" CD's such as the 2 CD Razor & Tie compilation or "The Very Best ofGlen Campbell" on Capitol Records unless you are already a fan.Thisis a live recording and not a compilation.Many of his best songs are onhere but many of them are in medley form, but this does exhibit Glen doingwhat he loves best, and this is a good album at that. ...
