Awesome
This CD is the first of Take 6 I heard and have been a fan ever since.Their vocals are awesome!You will not be disapponted!

The Best
So here's how I first got aquainted with Take Six.I turned the radio on as I always did, years ago, to fall asleep.The disc jockey said, "you've got to hear this group.They're amazing", or something to that effect.As the album started to play I couldn't believe what I was hearing.I sat straight up in bed and my ears clung to every note.The next day I went racing around town to find the album but to no avail.It was sold out everywhere.I finally got hold of it and played it to death.I taped it for my dad (a musician) and he took a copy to his brother (also a musician).They went racing to the record store (I wasn't giving them my album) down on Park row in Manhattan.The poor clerk said that people had been asking for it all day long and the shelves were empty.Then he said, "you guys are musicians aren't you?" and they said yes.He let out a big heavy sigh, went into the storage area and came back with albums.After that my dad and his brother called all of there musician friends and had a listening party for that album.They claimed they didn't want any women around chatting and laughing while they were trying to listen.I couldn't even get in and I was the one who brought it to their attention!Oh well.

To make this quick, I've reviewed many of the comments about this album and I'm just here to confirm the overall prevailing consensus that this is a phenomenal album.It's equally impressive that this album is nearly twenty years old and still, in my opinion, the best a cappella recording ever.There have been comparisons to other notable groups such as the Manhattan Transfer, Vox One, New York Voices and the Real Group.The most noted of course is Manhattan Transfer, but seriously, they can't even hold a candle to these six talented African-Americans.My second favorite group would have to be New York Voices, yet some would argue and say the Real Group (Sweden) is just as talented...not so.In skill...maybe, but talent....no way.Why you ask? Simple. Take 6's debut album featured ALL ORIGINALS and it won a Grammy! HELLO, that's unheard of people!Is there any wonder why it's considered a classic.From a musician's perspective, I've never understood (nor will I ever understand) why people praise artists who simply rearrange standards made famous by others...that cracks me up.Think about it, you'll appreciate this and all music more.This inspirational jazz classic is a must for any afficionado -- buy it! ... Can't stop listening to it!
One day while out driving around I heard the song "History" and it stuck in my head.I finally broke down and bought the CD.It's WONDERFUL.I usually skip around on CD's (from song to song) because usually you only get 2 or 3 good songs.You can put this CD on and leave it, just let it play.It's so good.Matthew West is so talented, he wrote/co-wrote every song.I love the music (not too hard or soft, not the same sound over and over).These songs really deliver the message of God's unfathomable love and grace, which is something we all need to hear more of.Just ordered his "Happy" CD!

Get up and dance!
Very few albums are good all the way through. This one deserves 5 stars for sure. It's catchy, makes you feel good, and has a great message.What inspired me to pick this album up was flipping through the radio I came across the song, "Only Grace", and it was just what I needed for my day.Pick it up you won't regret it.

From Seeing him in concert
After seeing matthew West in concert after he came to my college university and sang for a packed chapel full of UMHB students, I was completely blown away and touched.His songs were so beautiful and had good rhythm and beat to them that I couldn't help dancing along as he sung them.Going into the concert I thought I wouldn't like him, but I did.So give them a chance, you won't regret it and get their cd today! ... One Church Project
This album was recorded live at the West Los Angeles Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) back in July of 2004 and I am telling you the Americans do know how to record a live album in contrast to some of the British live projects.
C'mon...It's Kurt Carr!
I have enjoyed Kurt's music in the past and it was just hard to imagine him being able to keep up the awesome work.But, he did. Believe me, the whole cd is great.Every song seems to flow right into the other and they are SO encouraging.If your down and feeling like you've given much and gotten back little, in addition to prayer, listen to this cd!Where your prayer may be "Woe is me", after listening to this cd it'll be nothing but praise! Go on, what are you waiting for?It's Your Time for God's Favor!

Kurt Carr is just BAD!!!!!
Kurt Carr is a man who has a passion for music.His ability to think outside the box and bring something unique to gospel music is uplifting (aka Let God Arise). As a person who only listens to gospel music, I have a deep respect for those writers and musicians who continue to develop quality church music. And Kurt Carr is definitely A1 on that list.

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound
Very disappointing. Not at all consistent with the usual quality of SSQ.There is only one song that somewhat redeems the album "Forgiven Again".
What a wonderful and inspirational blend of voices.
I saw this group on one of Bill Gaither's specials and knew I had to own their music.The songs took me from tapping my toes to my eyes welling with tears for love of Christ.Thank you for your dedication to our Lord and putting it in music form to share with the world.It is an excellent selection of songs that are beautifully done. All inspired by love for the Lord.

Absolutely incredible
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound have put out an album that honors the old Southern gospel quartet sound, while adding new wrinkles with new material. An absolutely incredible album, and a must-have for all gospel quartet fans. Plus, they're extremely fine Christian men to boot; see one of their shows and find out first-hand for yourself, as they're generous with their time to fans. They have a lifelong fan in my daughter; their message and energy struck a chord with her, and helped to pull her out of some troubled times. God bless each and every one of them. Testimony is the sixth release for Virtue
Testimony is the sixth release for Virtue, following a maternity break for two of the three sisters. Having been around since 1994, this outfit has moved a long way on from their New Jill Swing beginnings. And, rest assured, Testimony exudes the sonic and spiritual strength and maturity that such longevity should bring.
Virtue's Best Album, and I thought the last one was good!
Excellent album! This is just the kind of album I like. It clearly speaks about Jesus, but the musical arrangements are modern and lean more towards R & B. I'm listening to it right now. I actually got fixated on Tack # 1. I had to put it on repeat. I would strongly recommend investing in this album. As for me, Virtue is now officially my favorite Female Gospel Group. Fortitude wins out for Best Male Gospel Group.

Contemporary Praise and Worship
Well, let me first start off by saying that I think this is Virtue's best CD. It's like a contempory praise and worship album. It has something for the young and mature in Christ and for the young and old in age.

Ruben Studdard has found his "niche"...
I bought this CD for the song, "Center of My Joy."My best friend used to sing that at church and since she died 11 years ago, I haven't been able to listen to it. Not until I heard a snippet of Ruben singing it on amazon.com did I feel ready to let that song minister to me again.Ruben has an amazing voice and I love that he allowed the gift God gave him be used to bless others and lift the name of Jesus.I like the whole CD, my favorite songs are: Center of My Joy, of course; I Need an Angel; Shout to the Lord; Restoration and Ain't No Need to Worry.Ruben did a good job of re-making some classics like Shout to the Lord and Restoration. Outstanding
Stacie Orrico has got to be by far one of the best pop singers I have heard in a while...she reminds me of Christina Auguleria when she first came onto the scene.Stacie has an amazing voice, one that will blow you away. And the first song that I heard by her was Stuck and it was alright it made me notice her with how she kept the bridge of the song riding and how smooth her voice was, but I didn't get to really hear her skills still I heard There's Gotta Be More To Life" and when I heard it I said to myself "I'm going to go get that!" and thats exactly what I did.Her voice is very powerful and she could very well be in a leauge of herown, I put her up there with Christina, Beyonce, and Mariah and that is saying a lot! I give 2 thumbs way way up!!!!!!

Pretty good
This is the only ablum out of 3 that I own by Stacie Orrico, and I really like her! She has a great voice, and the songs are very well-written. I really like it that her songs are sweet and encouraging in some ways, which is probably her way of spreading the gospel to others. I've had this CD for quite a while, but I wanted to write a review to share with others about what I think of it. The first song I ever heard by her was "More to life", and I was blown away by that song! I loved it! I gave this 4 stars because it wasn't NEARLY as good as I really thought it would be. You'll see why right here, when I talk about these songs.

good variety of music
I love these two cds and believe anyone of any age would enjoy them.They are terrific contemporary worship songs that point our minds to God.My favorite songs are "All in all" by nichole nordeman, "In Christ alone" by geoff moore and Adreinne Liesching, and "Your Love, O Lord" by Third day.There were a couple songs I didn't really care for like Out of Eden's version of "Every Move I Make", "Let Everything That Has Breath" performed by Matt Redman (I like the original version done by Cademan's Call on the City on a Hill cd much better.), and "The Happy Song" byby Delirious.They are not horrible songs though. All the songs sounded up to date, no 80's sounding stuff.If you are looking for great pop worship songs that aren't too loud but not too quiet and boring either, then this is the cd for you.

WOWWORSHIP:YELLOW
I love every song on this CD.The songs are uplifting and familiar.This is one CD you can play over and over again.

The WOW albums are great because . . . . . . . . . .
What makes these compilations so great is that the songs ARE NOT always performed by the original artist or songwriter. The reason this is so special is because you get to hear other artists take on a song that makes it almost it's own new song. An example of this would be ZOE Girl's version of "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul" from WOW Red. The song by itself is great, but then ZOE Girl's version adds tons of power and depth. Another great thing about the WOW series is that when the original artist does perform, they may do a modified version of the song that you cannot get anywhere else. An example of this is "Draw Me Close " from the Katinas on WOW Yellow or Chris Tomlin & Steven Curtis Chapman doing " We Fall Down" from WOW Red. I love hearing different artists sing the same praise songs because they bring a different flavor and vibe to the song. Never heard it, but.....
I love Cece's voice. She's so incredibly annointed, however I've never heard this album. Actually, I'm not even rating the album itself, but Cece's incredible beauty. I mean seriously...she's an incredibly beautiful woman. I mean like seriously, seriously hot. I seen her on TBN not to long ago and I was like...whoa! Who's is that fine sister?!?!?! I don't know who she's married to, but take it from this single white boy...brother...you are incredibly blessed of God to be married to a woman that beautiful and that talented. You should thank the Lord Jesus everyday of your life for that woman. SHE'S HOTTTTTT!!!! God bless you Cece! We love you!!!!

Now....CeCe has done it "one mo time" This CD wasn't even scheduled to be released.... she just went with the spirit and "bammmmmmmm" hereit is....From open to close I believe this CD was purposed... I was asleep one night... (I sleep with the TV on) and I believe I was watching something on TBN that night...however, I woke up about 3:00 am...(good singin wakes me up) and I had been going through some things...and taking myself through some other things....and the songs were ministering to me....tears were falling...and I had never heard the music before...(which is weird all by itself) but I believe she was doing this mini concert and promotional for this recording...she has such a stage presence...the way she spoke about the songs even touched me.....I must admit...I got a bad copy....but believe it or not...this was the last bad copy of any CD I got...from then on...I've brought originals legally...(lol) all I can say is "HALLELUJAH"... I could go on and on..but Im rendered speechless...from open to close....my heart was filled, my thirst was quenched...my mouth began to speak adoration to God........the rest is history....."POWERFUL AND MOVING"

Although there's only one new original on Iris DeMent's first release in eight years, the music throughout ranks with the most personal she has made. DeMent's quavering vocals invest this collection of traditional spirituals with an unwavering conviction. "This is my story," she sings on "Blessed Assurance," written more than 130 years ago. "This is my song." In her liner notes, the Arkansas-raised artist explains how these were the first songs she remembers hearing, and that this music has always provided comfort during hard times, a comfort that isn't necessarily (or at least not narrowly) religious. On "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "God Walks the Dark Hills," DeMent accompanies herself on stately solo piano, and the emotion is as pure as the arrangement is unadorned. On other tracks, DeMent and co-producer Jim Rooney enlist homespun support from kindred spirits such as guitarists Mark Howard and Bo Ramsey and a call-and-response chorus of harmonizers including Stuart Duncan. The self-penned composition, "He Reached Down," is a folkish recasting of the Biblical "Good Samaritan" parable. I sent this to my sister during the last days of her fight against breast cancer.She had mentioned how old time hymns "The ones you know the words to" brought her a lot of comfort.
As close as I'll get to having my Mom and Grandma back again
Nobody who knows me will ever describe me as "religious," but I grew up in a family that was off-and-on "church," in the old-time-religion way.My mother and _her_ mother sang constantly as they did housework, and their repertoire was mostly hymns and gospel songs.Many of them are on this CD, and DeMent's rough, untutored voice isn't unlike what I grew up hearing.

I understand that Iris DeMent has a very strong fan base and that this review will likely ruffle a few feathers, but...Ewww!I am sorry, but I just don't get it.I find her voice grating and somewhat irritating.The album itself has many songs that would otherwise be quite lovely, but with her vocals I just can not get into it. ... Marcus is blessed with a soulful anointed voice. Loved his performance on "Come Home" from the Andrae Crouch project "Mighty Wind". Like soulful legends of the past he's blessed to interpret lyrics and take the listner into the heart of the song. There's not much more I can say. Great cd, nice DVD bonus
Well, Casting Crowns put out a GREAT sophomore album.The music is uplifting and encouraging.For a few bucks more, you can pick up this DualDisc, which gives you access to two live songs (Praise You In This Storm and What If His People Prayed) as well as an Iworship version of "Lifesong" which was fun to watch.You also get a nice video about getting help with running a youth group, if that interests you.

Loved It!
I have all of New D's albums and I really liked this one too. This choir is defaintly on fire for the Lord and their enthusiasm, their energy has inspired me and my youth choir. But I do wish that there were more songs on this album, more new songs too. Rain defaintly had that. But nevertheless, this was a good CD.

Happy Birthday, Jesus and other selections
My wife and I had been searching for the song we heard on K-Love called "Happy Birthday, Jesus".It's sung by a little girl (beginning and end) with a backing choir in the main part of the selection.After enough Googling, we finally found it on this CD.

I ordered this CD and was not disappointed.Brooklyn Tabernacle always has high quality Christian music...but I ordered this CD for the song Happy Birthday Jesus.A very touching tribute to Jesus in honor of his birthday, and IT IS ALL SUNG BY CHILDREN!!!

Breathtaking
The Soweto Gospel Choir performs gospel music, traditional African music and even pop music using the call and response vocal techniques that are associated with Soweto Township in South Africa. I've never heard this music performed by such a large ensemble of singers and the results are as soulful and deeply inspiring as any music you are likely to hear on this planet of ours.
BLESSED
I just can't seem to get enough of listening to this CD. From the first song to the last is all good. It is very uplifting. I may not understand the language but I feel the message of the songs in my heart and soul. This is one for your collection.

While I don't always understand the words, the spirit of this CD has touched my heart and brought me to tears.It's amazing to me how we can worship the Lord in our own language and others are moved who don't even understand the words.This CD reaches inside and grips your heart and soul... Classic Christian Rock

Absolutely outstanding, The Master inspires a master
I heard "Only Jesus " in the 80s for the first time , and the music have stuck with me for 20 long years . When I saw that it was released in CD it was a happy day . This is areal masterpiece and I'm a musician, I'm a composer and I say that with boldness.Songs like "the best", c'mon , who can improve that ?.

Excellent Gospel Wedding CD
My husband had this CD and the previous one that came out in 2001 (entitled just "With This Ring") before we got married.When we were engaged we knew right where to look for our songs.We had "Finally I" sung in the wedding and "Come Take My Hand" was our first dance song at the reception.Since then, I've recommended both CDs to two friends who've gotten married or known someone who has in the last year and they all used one or more songs from it.I'm actually singing You're the One with my brother-in-law for a friend's wedding this weekend!As someone else said, these are just beautiful, God-centered songs that anyone will love - Gospel and non-Gospel fans alike.

All that I hoped for
I heard this song on the radio late one night and it brought tears to my eyes.I had to find it and importantly I wanted it sung at my vow renewal ceremony.I will soon be celebrating my 25-year anniversary and am planning the ceremony I've always dreamt about.After 25 years of marriage we've experienced the "good times" and the "bad times" that are purposely stated in the marriage vows.It is abundantly clear that my husband is the one for me--the Lord told me so the first day I met him, and he still is today!In addition to "You're the One", we're using 3 other songs from the CD in the wedding. The entire CD is inspirational, heartfelt, and absolutely beautiful.

Total Praise
This album is an absolute must have!!!!Israel has got to be one of the most annointed praise and worship leaders (let's not forget New Breed because they are powerful as well).I've had the honor of seeing them minister, in an amusement park no less, and the spirit of God moved in such a mighty way.That just proves that when you're annointed it doesn't matter where you are, the mountain top or valley low, God will move as you minister.Live from Another Level is a cherished collectible too.Powerful man of God!!!!

What a way to invite the Spirit!
This CD is fantastic. The music selections are great!
Peaceful listening
Steve Cumming played this version of God Be With You Till We Meet Again on his last broadcast show for classical WRR radio in Dallas. If there was a dry eye in the listening audience, I would be surprised. In addition to the song he chose, this recording has all of your favorites performed with beauty and majesty.
