5-0 out of 5 stars He just keeps getting better....
For the last several years, John Reuben has been garnering himself quite the following in the Christian music world. As someone who has listened to him since his first CD (Are We There Yet) I have been able to see and hear the progression of his music and his message. For those familiar with his earlier CD's this one goes in a slightly different direction. Instead of it being just John, DJ Manuel, and occasionally Alan Augusta amongst a few others, John opts to go with a full band set up and delves into the rap/rock genre. And if I say so, he does it very well.
4-0 out of 5 stars I agree with T-Rod's review...good but not great
Several good songs like "Nusiance" and "Out of Control""Sunshine""All I Have."
5-0 out of 5 stars unique, powerful
John is the most unique rapper in the Christian hip-hop areana. Each album has built on the one before, culminating in this CD.Having established himself as a rapper and gaining a fan base, John is now unleashing the hard truth. The most well known song on the album is Nuisance, but certainly not the only hit. Each song is a fresh (sometimes hard) reality check that continually inspires me.I especially love 'Sales Pitch,' it is agressive lyrically, vocally, and musically.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nothing groundbreaking, but good rock nonetheless
If you like rock and roll then I'd reccomend Monday Morning to you. This album offers crunchy guitars, but nothing that will stick in your head. Almost generic rock if you will, but I like it. Be warned though. If you're looking for a christian band with exclusive lyrics, keep on moving because there's not much to see here. That said, it's a good album.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's good
This is one of those cds where I had to listen to it a few times to really start appreciating it. I love the first song "Sunshine". That's what led me to purchase it in the first place. After listening to it several times, several other songs are becoming favorites as well.

1-0 out of 5 stars STOP IT!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Band, Great CD
I have owned this CD for a while now and still listen to it daily! I know them personally and am not only impressed by there music but by their faith and by the ability to not let "fame" get to their heads..
3-0 out of 5 stars A little disapointed
I loved Downhere's frist CD, so I purchased this one. I was slightly disapointed. The songs are much more repetative and quite a bit rockier. I liked the old stuff better. However, the quality is still good and I haven't decided not to listen to it yet, so It's not that bad.
5-0 out of 5 stars I just heard them live
These guys just played at my church and I have to say, Wow.What a fun buch of gentlemen who really play well and have a good time.I am on our tech team so I interacted with them for several hours setting up and tearing down afterwards and they are special. They stayed almost 3 hours after the show to sign autographs for the fans (Avalon the night earlier only lasted 90min.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Best in 10 years
Wisdom is a breath of fresh air.It was a trip back to the differing nuances of his Regathering and Heart of the Shepherd work. I love Wisdon.Swift to Hear, Slow to Answer is a beautiful, meditative peace with JMT's guitar riffs in the background adding a beautiful flair to a neo-classical piece. Just a great work that will be way too underappreciated.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great New CD!
I was blessed to receive this CD as pre-release in last May when I saw John Michael Talbot at a bookseller's convention. Like most of his works, this too is quite mellow and contemplative.I have enjoyed listening to it from the first time on!I do not completely agree with all of his theology, but the theology is not shoved down your throat and I can still appreciate the work.5-0 out of 5 stars JMT is my favorite
John Michael Talbot has been writing and singing some of the most beautiful, peaceful music I've ever heard. A long time fan, I have every one of his titles and "Wisdom" will find a place in my collection. I'd highly recommend his music if you like calm, classical music that exalts God. Unlike most of modern day Christian "rock" Talbot's music transcends this age and I believe remain a classic always. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Not quite as gritty as Ashley Cleveland's other work, but if you like singing along to CDs, this will give your throat a real work-out.I hurt after a couple days of owning my copy, and even missed a turn while driving my library delivery route while belting out "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" --a duet with Ashley Cleveland, so to speak. She probably would have quit, had she heard me.If you like your rock with a good bluesy/countryish flavor, this hymn collection is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars These Hymns Rock
If you think of hymns as being dull-the music uninteresting-Ashley Cleveland's Men And Angels Say may change your opinion. These are not hymns as your father and mother heard them.
4-0 out of 5 stars Men and Angels Say!
Well, after hearing this recording, I came - up with this conculsion: This recording is almost like her "Lesson Of Love" recording that she recorded back several years ago with a few exceptions. One of them being not on the Reunion record lable. Ashley Cleveland seems to be a good record artist ( and it was made known in this recording really well )!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I saw this recording performed in concert a number of years ago.The music is phenominal.Anyone with an appreciation for Handel's Messiah living in the day of modern music will love this.I am on my 2nd copy of the CD because I wore the first one out.It gets me in the spirit for the holidays every year.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent modern production with minor flaws
I had this record on cassette tape for a number of years and quite nearly wore it out, so I think I can speak with some confidence.First, this is intended as a contemporary version of The Messiah with songs performed in the unique styles of contemporary artists (contemporary as of ~1994, that is); thus criticisms that it doesn't measure up to the original are misguided - lofty comparisons in the album's liner notes notwithstanding. There are some minor dislikes: for instance, I was irked at first listen by the electric guitar that needlessly elbowed its way into "Comfort Ye".(That said, I probably wouldn't remove it now.)Even Carman's fairly cheesy version of "Glory to God" (which includes an over-the-top narration of the words of Isaiah) is an energetic and certainly enthusiastic production.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This version of Messiah is uplifting and although all of the artists are not classically trained, the performances are beautiful.Larnelle Harris and Steve Green have trained voices (Lornell majored in voice).I attended New Young Messiah in 1990, and have sung backup for both Steve and Larnelle.Franklin doesn't know what he's talking about. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sedimentary Rock!
I like several of Petra's compiliations! Especially "Petraphonics" and that's not dinosaurs either. Layer upon layer of guitar chords and pounding drums! The album arts on these albums are really cool.
5-0 out of 5 stars "Upon This Rock....."
Petra is a ROCK band. They've cranked out hits for over three decades now.Secular arena rock fans should have no problem listening to these guys. They fit perfectly into anyone's rock catalogue and sound right comfortable there. They are perhaps the most influential Christian band in any genre. You could make an argument for Amy Grant in the pop genre, but she sang secular tunes to reach the masses whereas Petra has always been about the Gospel.
4-0 out of 5 stars THE ONLY PETRA GREATEST HITS YOU NEED
First off, there are way to many Petra 'best of' cds out there. I am sure it's the record companies decision and Petra had little to say on the subject. With so many out there you might have a little trouble deciding which to go with. I would highly recommend going with this one as it is more complete than the other ones. You get all the essentials of Petra like "Shakin' The House" "Hit You Where You Live" "Judas Kiss" and "Angel Of Light". This best of cd features both singers and gives equal time to each one.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Christian Bands
I had listened to more current Delirious music and liked it. My wife had ordered this CD and gave it to my daughter. It sat around for awhile. She pulled it out the other day, started playing it and I went, "I didn't know we had this, this is great stuff!" When Delirious was a young band, (Known as "Cutting Edge" back then), they were more centered on worship type of music. Not as heavy on the metal, more string guitar stuff, but very good. It has some of their all time classics, "I could sing of Your love forever" and "Did you hear the mountains tremble?" Many others you can sing to in the car and worship Jesus. I highly, highly recommend this CD!

5-0 out of 5 stars this is what it's about
Not much to say, except that this is an album to get. It will have some songs that are familiar to most, and many that aren't. But that's the beauty of it. Martin Smith writes well, and expresses the feelings of his heart. He loves God, and desires nothing but to chase after Him. Such a yearning is what worship is about.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Modern Christian Worship Band
Simply put, this album is a great example of a modern worship band's ability to make great music.I have spent several years searching for Christian bands that can play music that appeals to me.Raised on alternative rock music, for years I considered Christian music weak.Delirious is one of the bands that has changed my mind.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Compilation Album Ever
This is the best compilation album I have ever owned. It has all of my favorite Christian songs, all of which are songs that sing praises to God or sing songs of sweet surrender. These songs hit me at a sweet spot. I know that the folks who put this album out were just trying to make some money off Christian music listeners, but they have no idea how helpful it is to keep me focused on my relationship with God when I'm working and when I'm at home.
5-0 out of 5 stars My refuge
After a long day, this album was my refuge. The songs offer so much to meditate on. The title of this album is not far from the truth. I am not what you might call a religious person, in fact, one of my closest friends gave me this album a while back as a birthday gift. It was in my "listen to it later pile", slash "never listen cause it sounds too religious pile". I felt moved the first time I heard the whole album. It is a powerful collection of songs. A deeper sense of meditation and prayer can be felt from every artist. I listen to this album when times are difficult and when I need some time with my thoughts. It's a great buy, and at $1.99 used, its a bargain. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars pioneer in contemporary gospel
All kinds of elements including rock, pop, and of course the traditional choir-style gospel make this album crossover, and with some short preachings and testimonies by Andrae, one can imagine the recording was more of a church service than a concert. The songs include "Perfect Peace" and "Just Like He Said He Would," both of which has a taste of typical 1970s pop music as well as the famous versions of the hymns "I Surrender All," "Revive Us Again," and "Power in the Blood." This album also inspired Donnie McClurkin to record his live album in London.

I have been listening to this for a while now. I seem to be growing out of it. My first concert was a Stacie Orrico concert. I was 7. (I'm now 12.) I don't seem to like her as much anymore, but I still think she has got major talent. Bring up the age level, like she did in "Stuck," and I think we'd have a winner. Praise God!

4-0 out of 5 stars GOOD LIVE ALBUM FROM STRYPER
First off I want to say I really like live recordings. Mistakes and all,raw is the only way a live album should sound. Examples are Poison's Swallow The Live or Power To The People cd. It is so raw that it almost sounds like a bootleg. Dokken's Beast From The East is another great one...as well as Tesla's Replugged double cd. The last two being a bit more polished so even the raw sound comes though on your stereo really good. This Stryper cd is the same. Sounds a bit muddy, you can hear guitar reverb and to me that is a good thing. Roberts drums sound great! I personally don't like a band to make a live album and then produce it, editing mistakes and adding overdubs, etc. The quality of a good live recording is here.
5-0 out of 5 stars STRYPER LIVES!!!!!!!
STRYPER ARE AWESOME LIVE.I CAUGHT THIS TOUR,SO I KNOW.IF YOUR INTO THEIR ALBUMS,YOU'LL BE INTO THIS.A LITTLE POP METAL,A LITTLE HEAVY METAL,BUT IT'S ALL GOOD.CHECK IT OUT,IT'S OLD SCHOOL AT IT'S BEST.LOUD N' CLEAR N' IN YOUR FACE!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gives me chills!!!
Never made a review before, so will make this short and SWEET (Pun intended :)I grew up listening to these guys since day one.Although my timing is a bit off, I just picked this CD up today. This is by far one of the best live recordings I've ever heard! It's hard, heavy, and I don't think any of the band members made any goofs while performing. If you love the heavier Stryper tunes, you HAVE to get this. You will not be sorry! The bass, heavy guitars, the perfect playing......get it before it's almost impossible or highly priced, you won't be sorry! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My fav. band
Plus one has been my favorite group for the past couple of years. When I first heard The Promise I thought "I have to get a copy!" So I did. I listened to that for about a year before getting Obvious for Christmas 2002. Now I know all the songs by heart! I have to admit my sister and parents hate this CD. But they don't care if I get my head phones and listen to it. The great songs are Camouflage (an energetic song about not hiding our faith from others), Use me (a song that says how we want to be used by God), Let me be the one (this one tells us how much God wants to lead us and protect us and help us get through), Under the influence (this song is a broadcast that we love God and how he helps us to become more than we are), You (this song talks of a person who thought he didn't need God but found him and realized how wrong he was), I don't care (this song says that we don't care what others think of our faith but that we will do whatever God wants us to do), Kick me (this song tells the Christians that put others down because that other person has made a mistake to not blame them because they themselves have stumbled down the path and taken a wrong turn), Going crazy (this song tells how hard life is without God and His guidance and how we can't live without Him), Start to fly (this song is meant for people who don't have a deep enough connection with God and not enough faith and how they shouldn't give up because what's happened in their past), Calling down an angel (this is for those who have doubts about God and how He's going to help them find that He is true), Forever (Forever is a long time to be without you in my life, I wanna keep you by my side `cause forever is a long time. The chorus), and Who am I? (Who am I without God? What could describe it better?). And ten of these great songs are written by the band members. I think anyone from about age 8 to age 20 will love this (provided you're christian).

5-0 out of 5 stars This is just what people need.
In this world nowdays people don't care about God and that he created them and don't even give God a chance you should because he can really help your life so I encourage anyone that isn't going to church or doesn't know God to read this message. And get this CD it has great songs and the words are just magical and make you feel good plus is a good way to help you just know how much God loves you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Even Baby's Love Them
My baby Casey was 10 months old, unable to walk, but she could stand against the couch and shake her legs to "Big, Bad, Billy."My Church gave me inspirtation to help with our outreach ministry. My family loves to sing along with "Go Fish."

2-0 out of 5 stars Warning to Parents
Music is upbeat but content is deceiving. It appears to be aChristian tape, but some songs were disturbing."Lady Bug" is about a little boy that fries bugs with a magnifying glass. The majority of the song focuses on gross details with a brief tag that the boy is a thug. (Little boys are more likely to pick up on the how too's of bug incineration.)Very concerned with "My own Church".It encourages the mindset that corporate worship is on the same level as going to a circus. It is disrespectful and in poor taste. The artists are talented, but trying to appear not to take their faith too seriously so they appeal to secular market as well. Dissappointing at best, if you were looking for a good Christian cd.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it
This is a Christian album that's musically worthy of being compared to great classic rock bands of the 60's & '70's (including The Beatles).Great message, too.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
I am so excited about this CD.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love these guys
I gotta be completely honest and say that I just got this CD a few days ago. That is because I had the tape when I was much younger and I am really getting back into these guys. Their music is truly great. This is my favorite album of theirs with "Great Lengths" and "Merry Go Round" not to mention all of the other great songs. A must have for music fans. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Worth Listening To
Other reviewers have done a good job describing the lyrical content: absolutely straight out of the Bible. This is true.
5-0 out of 5 stars Magnificently intense, lyrically deep Christian hard rock music
First of all, Disciple totally rocks! The majority of the album is full of great heavy metal music that hits hard and will totally fulfill your headbanging needs. The guitar riffs are very original and clever, the drums are very good and fast, and Kevin's vocals combine a lot of screaming, talking, and singing to blend with the music seamlessly. 5-0 out of 5 stars Another great disciple album!!!!
A must have for all christians who love hard rock!I have only heard samples of this on but i love what i herd! you gotta check it out! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I had fun with some of the songs in my song-by-song blow-by-blow list below. Be not deceived, however. Kevin Max could very well be the next Sting or Peter Gabriel. I honestly cannot think of another artist with such a gap between talent and popularity. Hands down the man is underrated in every way. What is the deal??
5-0 out of 5 stars Short but great
This EP is wonderful.I wish it was a full album as the songs here are great but you have to wonder if he had enough songs for an album but chose instead to only offer up the best.Either way, this EP is better I think than Stereotype Be.The songs seem to be more melodic taking you on a journey together as well as individually than Stereotype Be.I hated dc Talk breaking up and I still hope and pray that they reunite and put out many more albums but it's good to see Kevin succeeding in reaching out and challenging himself to produce better music.

5-0 out of 5 stars between the fence and the universe
This is a solid EP. Criticizm towards Kevin Max regarding whether or not he's still aChristian, and towards his music is ridiculous to me. The beauty of Kevin's music is that he doesn't put his message right out there in the open.

5-0 out of 5 stars Haste The Day.Christian hardcore at its finest.
As I Lay Dying and Still Remains also are two christian metalcore and hardcore bands at their finest."Burning Bridges" and "When Everything Falls" are two great CD's.Once you buy these albums you wont regret it.Even though this CD has more singing this can still match up to "Burning Bridges" and pretty much does because Haste The Day knows what music they make and they know the path they have chosen. One of 2005's hit albums that you should buy along with "Burning Bridges."

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Cd!!!!!
"When Everything Falls" is one of my favorite cd that I listen to. This cd has great music and lyrics that will keep you hooked on for many years! I love this cd, and I would recommend you to buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Long Live Jimmy Ryan
This is the last Haste the Day album to feature Jimmy Ryan at the mic, which i've seen the band with the new singer and even though he'll be a good replacement they are just going to loose something! but with that out of the way this album takes everything that was amazing about Burning Bridges, and takes it one step further! this album seems that HTD has taken a more structured approach to song writing. The last album was more hard intro, slow clean middle, hard break down end, now they have went more with a verse, clean chrous, verse, chours, bridge..... and so on approach! which is good i like it just as much if not better! this album is amazing, everything from the music to the vocals and as always the lyrics, Haste the Day is an amazing band and Jimmy will be greatly missed! ...
