Medicine For The Soul
I have been looking for a Christian prayful mediatative soothing CD to help my nerves through these troubling times and found this CD to be my answer. His voice pitch, musical ability, choice of songs, etc., can provide medicine for the soul that no anti-depressant, psychologist, alcohol, drug, or new-age mumbo jumbo can provide. There is truly powerful comfort in this CD's presentation. If I have trouble sleeping, this CD resolves the issue. I hope others can find the same strength that I have found through his prayerful music.

Nuwine, You Are The Man!
The tracks are bangin', the lyrics are hard-hitting, and the bass is wall-vibrating. Nuwine has created another great cd. I've been a Nuwine fan ever since I heard his first album "Da Bloody 5th, and I must say that this is cd is tight! But, unfortunately, I have one problem with the album: it has too many tracks that he doesn't rap on, and there is only 12 tracks. That's the only reason I give "1998" 4 stars instead of 5. But the tracks he does rap on rock. This cd isn't the same quality as "Da Bloody 5th or "When Thugs Fly", but it still is better than most cd's that come out today. The best tracks are, without a doubt, "One Million Souls", "Dead Serious", and "Wake Up and Die". Nuwine, keep doing what you're doing. You rock. And rap fans, despite the couple of tracks that don't feature his unique rap style, it still rocks. You need this cd!

PHAT!!!IT'S BUDDA MAN!!!
This has got to be the best christian rap album ever made.I don't care who you are or where you're from or how much you think you know aboutchristian music, this album will show you something you never thought you'dsee.Nuwine and Fred Hammond have the same fire.Fred for the moresubdued, Nuwine for the G's.

This album is phat,but I bet you're wondering why I only gave it 3 stars.This album collaborates the best from his 3 grapetree albums,which in my opinion "Ra Ra Ra" and "westcoast ridaz" are 2 of gospel rap's best hits ever(Easop rocks the mic).I gave it three stars because this album(w/ 2 exceptions) doesn't even touch the surface of his new disc "Me Vs. Industry".How talented is it he has sounds of Jay-z on "Hey young world" and Ludacris on Blazin CD
This Album is blazin and its off the chain. Im a christian rap collector and know when a album should be bought. LG Wise comes from the number 1 christian rap label in the world...Grapetreerecords. All their rappers represent. I think LG Wise is 1 of the hottest rappers in the christian rap industry. I recommend this album to serious listners who love to bump music in their ride.

Dig it
Some people don't like the sound that comes from the dirty south. However, if you do, or you don't know but would like to find out, you should check the chilled out art on this joint. Lil' Raz. helps define the phrase "Soldier for Christ".

West Coast Style Christian Hip Hop
A-1 Swift was the first Husband and Wife rap team in the history of Hip Hop, Christian or otherwise. Others like them have come out since (New Breed) but they were the first. They were also one of the first Christian Rap groups to specificaly represent the San Francisco Bay area, along with T-Bone. Hardcore Christian Songs
I have never listened to Larry Norman sing.I have, however, listened to the songs on this album.Not only is the music excellent, but the lyrics are tough, heartfelt and inspiring all at the same time."The Great American Novel," "Why Don't You Look Into Jesus," "Six O'Clock News," "The Outlaw," and, last but not least, "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" are songs that don't hammer non-Christians, but send a message to all people to look at themselves and study their hearts. Most of the people interested in this album are Larry Norman fans and couldn't find his albums online. They are in for a treat. More than a best-of album, or an honorary collection of cover songs, "One Way-Songs" serves as a lesson in how to write a rock song without losing faith. This is the good stuff, done by some good bands. Will the Real Larry Norman Please Rock Out?
Maybe it works in a backwards sort of way if Pat Boone sings heavy metal, but if the Osmonds did a tribute to Ozzy, who wouldn't think it was ironic? The only reason I could think that artists officially tagged as "contemporary" in radio format lingo would be singing songs by some long haired rocker named Larry Norman who always says "turn it up" to the guy running the volume controls at his concerts would be because they think he's very cool and want to pay tribute to a mentor and pioneer.But no, the liner notes of this CD are noncommittal at best, and with a couple exceptions, notably Grammatrain, the versions of his songs are about 180 degrees from what you'd expect from Larry Norman.Read more

Top notch hip-hop
Thoughtful, creative, hip-hop that deserved a wider audience, all the SFC discs are hard-to-find.Others are "Listen Up", "Phase 3", and the awesome "Saved Man in the Jungle".
One of the most underrated hip-hop albums!
"Illumination" is one of the most underrated hip-hop albums. Almost every song is highly compelling. The arrangements are creative and fresh as the artistic integrity is high.Most songs have a jazzy feel, either by using old jazz samples or the creation of original music. In fact, most of the music sounds like it was played by actual musicans with real instruments -something which can be rare in the genre's typically processed soundscape. This aspect will appeal to those who enjoy music by performers/groups such as Us3, Guru and the Roots. The disc even has a few jazz meets poetry tracks. Sup the Chemist has a great singing and rapping voice. His vocal style is surprisingly cleanwith regards to articulation and pronunciation. As with most rap music from the time period, the song themes revolve around urban authenticity. 'The Vibe' and 'Phat' are the two tracks that will run through your mind hours after the stereo has been turned off. I was surprised to eventually find out that this is a 'Christian Rap' album. The primary evidence for this is track eight, which is the only 'preachy' song. If you're like me (and not a Christian), I recommend that you not let religious orientation interfere with your enjoyment of SFC (Soldiers For Christ). While it is a tragedy that this album is currently out-of-print, you could pick up a few used copies for under five bucks at the time of review. Give this unappreciated gem a try! ... Read more

God bless these guys, but this album is low quality. I got this cd for 1 dollar so I guess I can't complain. I would recommend cross movement or grits instead.

These guys are THE PREACHAS. These guys have some pimp songs especially "rollin funky" and "God side Jam". Tha preachas that brought the word also brought the rythm boooy. I hope the guys keep up the good work and produce more cuz they could count on me to buy them. ... Read more

THE NEXT LEVEL FOR A GREAT SINGER!!!!!!!!!
Desiree Coleman-Jackson (aka Dez) has come a far way from her original reocrding with Motown, release back in 1988.It seems that her voice has gotten stronger in the past decade.Perhaps that is due to the 'purpose' of this recording.Changing her style of singing soul to gospel is perhaps the best move of her career.Though, her career hasn't blown up as it should have with the incrediable God-given talent she has to work with. The change was not a surprise to me, back in the late 80's, it was signs that Desiree heart was else where, and with this recording, it is quite apparent where it was all this time..Sing for Me is an extremely well put together piece of work.You can feel her spirit as she sings her heart out on some of the tracks on this album.Giving all she got and then some more when you think she is done!Not only that, the mixture of rap, dance, and hip beats that help bring home some of our younger generation of listeners.Most gospel artist stick to basic "traditional" sound for their recordings, which is fine, but in the process they are losing the interest of our youth.Thats where recording like this one steps up!With the octive strength of Mariah Carey and the presence of Patti Labelle, there is no wonder how an artist such as Dez, would still be around. This recording is truly an enjoyment to play at any church function and any other activity you want to be lifted by the joy of Lord.Sing on Dez, Sing on! The name may have changed, but the voice didn't.This recording has truly been a blessing to me as I hope the same for others who have been wise enough to purchase this recording!

This is a very good CD, it has uplifting, spiritfilled songs for everyone!The powerful voice of Dez just rings out thoughout the CD, just getting stronger as the CD goes on.When you are feeling down play DEZ.I suggest that everyone gets this CD.

Organic Soul
At a time when so much 'contemporary Christian' music is slightly behind the trends along comes Bryan Duncan showing no interest in trends at all! Blue-Eyed Gospel Soul!
Bryan Duncan has a voice that demands to be heard.When I saw the song titles, I was surprised to see him cover Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed", but it's a dynamite cut.My second favorite song (so far) is "If You Pray For Me".This is super R & B Gospel with tons of brass and beat.Give this CD to somebody who thinks that gospel music can't entertain as well as bless!I love this CD! ... The best in (west coast) Christian Rap...

Awsome
Furthermore's Flouresent Jellyfish C.D. is awesome. It's a funny, hip-hop/rock c.d. that displays Christian themes.If you aren't a hip-hop lover, and despise it, you might hate this c.d.It's a great c.d, and it's worth a lot more than you'll pay for it!

Good Hip-Hop/Alternative
This album has 10 quick tracks, and every one is good. I really don't like rap, but this reminds me of early Beastie Boys...in fact the last track "Melted Vinyl" is similar to a song off of Paul's Boutique. One of the best Christian Rap cd's ever!
Prime Minister has proven himself to be better than all the rest of theChristian rappers, featuring 16 awesome tracks on this cd! It was a greatmove to feature Antonious on this album. The best songs are Round &Round (The World Goes), H.U.S.H., and I Wish (I Could've Told Ya). If youlike Dr. Dre-like background music and awesome lyrics, this cd is for you.This is one awesome album!

Don't Bother
