5-0 out of 5 stars Most cherished CD
This is one the most cherished CDs I own.No matter if I'm angry, anxious, scared, whatever my state of mind...when I pop this CD in the player, I am drawn into the presence of God.I haven't run across another CD that is so full of authentic and sacred music. There is no track on this CD that fails to move me to a place where God and I are alone.Wonderful purchase.

4-0 out of 5 stars Reflective and Soothing Music
This recording always relaxes me.I can put it on and find that my mindwanders with it...thinking about God and coming back to the present thendrifting back to God again. The music has a soothing presence that drawsmy spirit to the Lord. Also, I have never grown sick of listening to thiscollection. The songs tend to blend together, and then the next thing Iknow the music is over and I am sad to see the songs end. 5-0 out of 5 stars The best prayer CD
This is the best CD for praying and having a quiet time. This helps mekeep focusing on His words, and tomaintain close retionship with Him. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic Bryan -- Still Strong Stuff
I recently purchased a used copy of this album at an online auction house for quite a bit more than it's on sale for here.(Shoot.)It's still worth every penny.Bryan Duncan's 1989 album still holds up musically (except for "Don't You Wanna Rap" which was NEVER in style - sorry Bry - but after 10 years, I finally got the joke).Notable songs include adult contemporary hit "Stand In My Place", smooth "Strong Medicine", intimately jazzy "Lies Upon Lies", and joyful "Hand It Over".Every song has an infectious hook and are very sing-alongable.If you're a BD fan, you'll really dig this project!

5-0 out of 5 stars Life changing
In this world we suffer loss and pain. Bryan's songs share the loss and pain that God also suffered. You are drawn close to Him as you listen to these wonderful songs. You will be inspired. Your life may be changed -mine was.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
This is an awesome CD.God has blessed Antonious with talent beyond measure. The beats are great and the lyrics give a good message.Recommended for all hip-hop fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can I get an AMEN!!!!
Up until this album, I always thought Grapetree was like the No Limit ofGospel rap...a lot of hype, but nothing to really get excited about.Butthen I heard Antonious!Antonious is definitely the tightest down southrapper of the Christian circuit.Lil' Raskull is ok, but Antonious issimply BLAZING!!All of these tracks are on point. The beats are like OFFTHE CHAIN!!Especially the intro. You'll wonder why he didnt do a wholesong off the intro's beat. It's PHAT!!!"Oh Yeah" gets u rowdyquick! You'll be knocking the speakers out of your trunk on this one. There are also riding tracks such as "In God We Trust" whichcalls out people who worship money and material things and "DropDown" which tells us to humble ourselves in front of God, "MakeIt Right", "People Change",and the list just goes on andon. If you like ANY down south music, pick up this CD.Even my friendswho aren't Christians like to listen to this CD.WHAT DOES THAT TELLYOU??? I dont really care for "Tell Me" though.Grapetree hassampled that song to death. But he makes up for it on the other 12 tracks. If this was the Source, he'd have 5 mics.

5-0 out of 5 stars k-lee june 9th 2000

4-0 out of 5 stars I like rap. I just don't like MOST rap. I love John Reuben.
John Reuben has put together a tremendous album. The musical tone goes from the silly(Jammin' John and Mixin' Manny) to the serious(All in All), and finishes with a beautiful song about his wife.
5-0 out of 5 stars great great great
John reu is definitely the best christian rapper out there. this cd is funny, serious and just awesome. Hindsight and Pro. Rapper are pretty even, and pro rapper is also a must have if u like hindsight.

1-0 out of 5 stars ridiculous
honestly, who's the man who signs these "christian" rappers? why do they all have to sound so corny? it irks me because i'd really like to see christian rap become huge. what christian rap needs are some more groups like the gospel gangstas who've lived that thug life and have come out of it thanks to God's grace and through salvation. there shouldn't be these guys from out in the sticks of iowa who sound like the wiggles and rap about corny topics. christian rap should sound almost exactly like secular rap in flow and beat and slang but with christian lyrics. it truly is possible and i guarantee will cause nonbelievers to turn to the truth. last year i tried so hard to get into christian rap. i tried and tried and tried. however, it just wasn't possible. so now the only type of christian music i'll listen to is steven curtis chapman or jars of clay or paul coleman trio. christian rock artists do a good job keeping abreast with what's hot. why can't the rappers do the same? you got me. for now i'm stuck listening to the likes of dipset, nas, jay-z, jadakiss, and t.i.. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Stuff
This is one of the best hip hop albums i've ever heard.Right behind John Reuben's 3.Lyrically its awsome and very intellegent.he has a unique way of rapping, it almost sounds like he's telling a story, which I love. The beats/instrumentals are also very good.Useing the usuall orchistra stuff with some nice beats.Comparing this to any secular rapper would be insane because it is so much better in every way possible.5-0 out of 5 stars SUP'S A LEGEND!!!!
What an awesome man he is.... Sup, i first heard him on DJ Maj Full Plates and i just thought of him as a funny awesome rapper with a good style and good lyrics... But i then realized that when i bought this CD he has his serious songs to and the funny awesome ones too.... he is just a good emcee with a smooth flow telling the world the Christ is no.1 in a very funny way and awesome way.... No matter if he's good or bad. He's still the man and keepin it real and staying closer. Today he's my favorite Christian rapper w/ B.B. 5-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational
The reason I give this album 5 stars is because the lyrics are from the heart of a young woman who has a testimony. She has lived the life of her music and expresses it from the heart, not fiction. She can sing and rap! All talent from God is good talent. Though not commercially perfect, I prefer the realness of music over mainstream anyday. Ayeesha is definitely underated. The first time I heard this cd I became a born again christian at 25 years old. 4 years later I still love listening to her cd. God bless you for making such a wonderful inspirational cd!

4-0 out of 5 stars Something worth rappin about
Ayeesha came forth wit-it.Baby girl hit some heavy topics, such as, suicide, domestic violence, depression related to bad situations, child abuse as noted on tract 12, "Dear God", and making moral decisions.Girl friend can sing and rhyme, and with God,making her the tripple threat package. You can hear her influences of 2Pac, like with the song, "Roses"., dedicated to her "Mama".And you can hear a little Missy in Ayeesha's vibe also.I appreciated Ayeesha's Boldness as noted in the title tract "listen Closely".She's "Readin" somebody...She did'nt hessitate to minister and share her faith with us .And that, along with the boldness is what cought my attention with this artist. It's a good album alternitive for the teen and pre-teen youth if you wanna give them a break from the shallow pop that's bumbarding our kids tempanic membranes...

4-0 out of 5 stars A Tight CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars This CD is a must for anyone who is with the Lord!
This CD is just remarkable. The lyrics alone are worth the purchase, let alone the hip-hop beats. I enjoyed their first CD and when I found out about this one, I was all over it. I listen to this when I can, it's a great "booster" if you need your "God-mode" turned up! PRAISE THE LORD!! THIS CD IS WELL WORTH YOUR PURCHASE!!

This album has got to be the best. I love this group. This group is all about God and nothing but God. Its awesome. I love the lyrics and the beat. I would give anything to meet them and to have their CD again. I let a friend borrow it and she was gonna give it back, but they had set it on top of the car and by the time they had realized it, a truck had run over it :(I miss it so much. 5-0 out of 5 stars My First Exposure To Mars Ill
I came across Mars Ill from their interviews on the Scribble Jam 2003 DVD and after going to their website and finding out that this was their most popular and successful album, I decided to check it out.To my surprise, I wasn't disappointed.ManCHILD can definitely handle himself on the mic and back by Dust's on time production make this a must have. My favorite cut would have to be Planes and Trains featuring Pigeon John and Rhymesayers' own Blueprint, telling by the production on this album, Dust's influences include jazz and blues with almost every track containing a hint or sample of a jazz or blues track.I would have to apologize for my first impression of the group,I recently found out that they are from Atlanta(home of the crunk sound that I despise and I was hoping that Mars Ill didn't fall into that disgraceful category), however I wasnt again disappointed.Underground hip hop has a fan for life.

5-0 out of 5 stars one of the best of 2004
i hated this CD when I first picked it up but in the past few months it has really grown on me. Dust is an excellent producer and puts together some really funky catchy arangments that are truly original manchild is a class a spitter and seems to get better and better on the mic with each release. (for a white guy his lyrics are amazing) its good to hear that christian Hiphop can still be original and creative

5-0 out of 5 stars 3rd listen a charm
When I first listend to this CD I wasn't all that impressed. After a couple more times though it started to grow on me. Now I just hit play and let it go all the way through. It's definately a more layed back CD and quickly becoming one of my favorites. Check out cut 03 'Planes and Trains' feat. Pigeon John and Blueprint (very tight). Other favs are 05 'Black Box Artist', 09 'Alpha Male', 12 'Sideline Speech', 13 'Next Door', 14 'Piecemeal' and 17 'Lump Sum'. I should also mention that the content is good. Repin' for God but not in your face preachy (as some take God related music). A good CD for unbeleiving friends. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nuwine keepin it real
Nuwine has always thrown out dope tracks, but this has to be one of his best. The album starts with the song "Ghetto Mission" which gives the alubm a good start. There are a couple tracks that are ones to skip, like the song "Hell." But overall this is a must get for every rap fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm sorta feelin' this one
Nuwine presents a somewhat diffent album from his previous albums with 'Ghetto Mission'. Because all his other albums besides 'Da Bloody 5th' kind of stunk, he came out with this one to make a comeback. Joining Evander Holyfield's record label, Nuwine chose some of the best producers I've heard. But, out of the 21 tracks featured, half of them weren't that good. The other half was, though. Another problem I have with this album is Nuwine's sudden change of rapping style. I don't know if he was trying to immitate DMX or Mystikal, but I much prefer his style back on 'Da Bloody 5th'. For instance, on the track "Lunchbox", he doesn't really rap, except on the chorus, which is pretty darn good. And on "Hell", he pretty much wastes the incredible background music, not counting his 30 seconds of rapping. But, despite my complaints, he did come out with a good album. The best songs that make this album worthwhile are "Drownin'", "Guitar Slim", and "Test". I also like "Bad Day", which is total 2pac-style. Well, even though I have some problems with it, I rotate it about every day, just listening to "Drownin'" alone sometimes. Nuwine fans, check it out; Other people, check out "Controverse All-Star" by Lil' Raskull first.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty durn good
This is a fun album by Knowdaverbs. He has good danceable beats for most of his songs and lyrics are entertaining not to mention spiritual of course. Fav 2 songs: *Equeena and *Good Measure. Others include *Strange Dames *The Syllabus *Call of the Dung Beetle. I only give 4 stars b/c it sometimes seems that Knowdaverbs has kind of a talkie feel to his rap and it gets kind of monotone after awhile. Also, some of the beats were kind of bland. But other than that he's fun, check him out!

5-0 out of 5 stars Why's everybody hatin' on Knowdaverbs aka Verbs?
There's no reason of dictating him or dissing him like that. That's wrong. I mean C'mon yall gotta snap outta it for a change. This guy can rap the world w/o putting no negative thoughts into his lyrics. He's more like a brother to Christ. I think everybody should pray and help this man 'cuz he's servin God on this album. 'Specially check out Unlocked (it's a classic must-have). 'Specially if u like mainstream rap artists from Outkast, Tribe, Digable Planets, De La Soul, The Roots, Common, Talib, Kanye West, K-oS, etc. and some Christian rap artists like John Reuben, Mars Ill, Grits, Flame, Corey Red & Precise, Gibraan, Applejaxxx, Shai Linne, Timothy Brindle, The Cross Movement, KJ-52, The Procussions (one of my favorite gospel rap groups), etc.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is my story!
I heard this CD and I personally think that it was garbage. The beats are whack and his lyrics are whack. I understand he trying to win souls but it's not working. I couldn't even listen to the whole Cd because it was so stupid. Don't even think about getting the other one. That one is just as bad. If I was a christian and this was the first CD I heard...
