5-0 out of 5 stars AWesome, a must-buy!
Loved the mix of tunes, I have SHARE THE WELL which I also love to recommend ....enjoy any time day or night. Play it when you are cleaning the house and be blessed!!

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the better Caedmon's Call albums
I enjoyed this beautiful album released in 2003 called 'Back Home'. This is probably their best if not close to their best album for this contemporary Christian band that infuses soft rock sounds with folk popish sounds. On this 13 track CD there was a number of standout songs again filled with Christian style messages of faith in one's self and in God. Once again Caedmon's Call star with vocals sung with deep felt sincerity as well as lyrics that are beautiful to listen too and the listener will be able to understand these words clear cut.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fresh, Crisp, and Clear!
This compilation, with the signature song "Only Hope," represents a fresh, crisp, clear sound from one of the premier Christian contemporary bands today.

5-0 out of 5 stars good mixture
The first album I got from Spoken was "echoes of the spirit still dwell". As I looked for more of them I had to realize that they changed their style in almost every album. I liked their heavy style and was shocked as I heard "A Moment of Imperfect Clarity" for the first time. The new album "Last Chance to Breathe" is a good mixture of both styles! I like the heavy parts (especially in "Bitter Taste") as well as the more melodic songs ("September").
1-0 out of 5 stars Tooth and Nail's Typical Rock band become even more trendy.
This Cd is awful in just about every way. It is a perfect example of how Tooth and Nail has lost thier edge in the scene and has become a victim of the trendy scene and emo kids. The vocals are weak, the sceaming is passion-less, and the guitars sound like played though a toy microphone. they are the worst band ever. not to mention absolutely weak live.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good but lacking slightly
This album has grown on me more and more . Spoken are my favourite band by far . Travis Wyrick did a good job on the production andn Spoken have moved a little farther down the line with their songwriting . There are some great songs on here , but I dont like the Cindy Lauper cover - a bit out of place as well as " bitter taste " where Matt's vocals are radically different to the rest of the album where he is so good . He is at his best when he is singing melodies and not strainging the scream as he does in " bitter taste " . Overall , an excellent album . 9 of the 12 songs are absolutely great , the other 3 ok . I cant wait for their next album , because the havent lost the plot like thousand foot krutch have ! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars If you want a Christian 6teen Stone era Bush, pick this up!!!!
Yeah this CD is very early Bush-like in nature. There is a little bit of Nickelback and Creed too in there for flavor. Whoever said that Vince sounds like Dave Grohl should go have his head checked.....IMMEDIATELY!!!! Anyway, I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. The songs start to sound alike after a while but definitely the best tracks are "Watching You Die" and "Faith Like That". Worth getting if you like any of the above mentioned bands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Christian Rock... Not For Everyone
As I was surfing amazon I came across this album.I was in need of some christian rock... seeing as it is in short supply. This album is great, I most rock fans could enjoy this album. Some songs are better than others but for the most part every song is different and as its own appeal.
5-0 out of 5 stars One could almost confuse this with Foo Fighters
Vocalist sounds almost exactly like Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters on most of the songs. The cd starts out with Watching You Die, a hard hitting grunge anthem.Tracks 2, 3, 8 are also kinda hard grunge rock songs. The rest of the cd is slower paced music but still very catchy. This is a christian rock group, and it definitely shows in the lyrics, but whether you like christian music or not you owe it to yourself to pick this hard/soft rock gem up. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Hard yet innovative rock
The hard yet innovative rock of Fleming and John on Delusions of Grandeur puts most contemporary rock bands to shame. One has only to listen to Letters In My Head to hear this.In some ways, their rock is simple.Screamed lyrics and super-cool, thrashing guitar have been rock standards for decades.Yet they manage to achieve a very musical sound, with tunes that will get in your head and not annoy you while they're there. For those who like thought-provoking lyrics, their message is certainly not that of most cookie-cutter rock hits.Listen and learn.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Originality
Original. This is the best word to describe Fleming and John. Every song on this album will blow you away. I can't think of any artist that is truly comparable. But Delusions is not just original- it is fantastic. First of all, John plays most if the instruments. His talent is unprecedented- amazing. Check out track 10&11, which go together, for a unique Middle-Eastern sitar sound not often heard in popular music, but F&J not only pull it off but add some unrivaled flavor. Fleming's vocals- what can I say? They actually took a while to grow on me, but soon I began to realize how unbelievably talented she is. This is one of those albums that is so good that it's really hard to choose the best tracks, but I guess I would have to say that "A Place Called Love," "I'm Not Afraid," "Love Songs," and "Rain All Day" could be considered stand-outs. But, like I mentioned before, every track brings something unconventional but exceptional. Buy this album- you will be a life-long fan!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Band That Deserves Accolades
I feel lucky to have been living in the Nashville area when Fleming & John were just finishing their first CD.I attended a local concert with a group of friends and bought the first release of the Delusions of Grandeur CD immediately after an impressive concert.Several months later, I even got to spend some time with the drummer and some friends on a weekend getaway!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I Will Not Forget This CD!
This CD always makes it back into my CD player rotation. It is one of my favorite worship CDs for these reasons: it is raw but passionate and it is extremely catchy.Being a praise band, I have loved doing covers of I Will Not Forget You, You Are So Good to Me, You Have Redeemed My Soul, Tender Mercy, and I Could Run Away. These are some of the best praise songs of all time! This CD was recorded in a circle (thus the band name) and it is the best circle of the circles by far.I love the unique folksy songs and you can just picture the musicians playing in a circle with their eyes closed praising to the one true God above.Ben Pasley and Don Chaffer have written brilliant songs that will always find a place in my CD player.Only criticism is that the female vocals sometimes sound a bit whiny. But for the most part, everything sounds great and I wish there were more out their singing with such passion!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome God Praise
100 Portraits and Waterdeep have an uncanny way of presenting music that sounds like something God would want to hear! They sing Psalms and praise in such a fresh and simple way.I just love this CD.The simplicity of the songs seems to enable a deeper connection to the Lord while I listen.

5-0 out of 5 stars true worship that's simple and beautiful
'enter the worship circle' is a worship experience you don't want to miss! the lyrics are simple so you can catch on quickly. the music is simple [guitar, i think] and let's you focus on God rather than the music. the worship is so fresh and real that it just draws you in and encourages you to worship God. no fancy sound effects or instruments. there's also a booklet that gives you some advice on how to write your own worship music. it's an amazing cd :) a definite must-have! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great album!
I love the new song "When God Made You."I was able to play that during a video montage for my parents' 50th Anniversary party.Needless to say, there were tears everywhere. The rest of the album is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good CD. One of the best in my collection.
I just love this CD. How could you not like it? It has several different styles of music included. Nearly everyone could find a song that they like on here. From "More Life In My Day" (a fast paced louder-yet-not-rock song) to "God Made You" (a 'love' song) to "For the Glory of Christ" (a praise and worship song) there is something there for everyone. Also Keith Green had his own "style" of music that you can usually recognize as his and this CD has one of his songs on it.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Christian albums ever!!
'More Life' is the best Christian album I have ever had. Especially the song 'For the Glory of Christ', that song has been my prayer ever since.

3-0 out of 5 stars Reasonable - But Not Their Best
This is Audio Adrenaline's second studio album. The band was still searching for a style at this stage of the game, and the album remains somewhat uneven. Having said that, the band does challenge the views of faith on songs like "Scum Sweetheart" and "Jesus and the California Kid".The songs "My World View" (featuring Kevin Max Smith of DC Talk) and "Don't Censor Me" are excellent indicators of the outstanding band AA would become, and "Big House" remains a benchmark of Christian pop/rock.Overall, though, anyone wanting to find out more about AA should start with "Underdog" or "Bloom".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great sound and message - geared to young people
I find this CD to be good for anyone who wants to hear pop-rock with good lyrics.
5-0 out of 5 stars A good variety of songs
I really like this album because of the variety of the types of songs. Audio Adrenaline tries different types of sounds, not just stick to one kind of beat. I absolutely love this album, and the songs are cool. I especially like the guitar in the songs, especially in the song "Big House."

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Band, Great CD
I have owned this CD for a while now and still listen to it daily! I know them personally and am not only impressed by there music but by their faith and by the ability to not let "fame" get to their heads..
3-0 out of 5 stars A little disapointed
I loved Downhere's frist CD, so I purchased this one. I was slightly disapointed. The songs are much more repetative and quite a bit rockier. I liked the old stuff better. However, the quality is still good and I haven't decided not to listen to it yet, so It's not that bad.
5-0 out of 5 stars I just heard them live
These guys just played at my church and I have to say, Wow.What a fun buch of gentlemen who really play well and have a good time.I am on our tech team so I interacted with them for several hours setting up and tearing down afterwards and they are special. They stayed almost 3 hours after the show to sign autographs for the fans (Avalon the night earlier only lasted 90min.)

3-0 out of 5 stars Hmmm...
I have been listening to this for a while now. I seem to be growing out of it. My first concert was a Stacie Orrico concert. I was 7. (I'm now 12.) I don't seem to like her as much anymore, but I still think she has got major talent. Bring up the age level, like she did in "Stuck," and I think we'd have a winner. Praise God!

5-0 out of 5 stars My fav. band
Plus one has been my favorite group for the past couple of years. When I first heard The Promise I thought "I have to get a copy!" So I did. I listened to that for about a year before getting Obvious for Christmas 2002. Now I know all the songs by heart! I have to admit my sister and parents hate this CD. But they don't care if I get my head phones and listen to it. The great songs are Camouflage (an energetic song about not hiding our faith from others), Use me (a song that says how we want to be used by God), Let me be the one (this one tells us how much God wants to lead us and protect us and help us get through), Under the influence (this song is a broadcast that we love God and how he helps us to become more than we are), You (this song talks of a person who thought he didn't need God but found him and realized how wrong he was), I don't care (this song says that we don't care what others think of our faith but that we will do whatever God wants us to do), Kick me (this song tells the Christians that put others down because that other person has made a mistake to not blame them because they themselves have stumbled down the path and taken a wrong turn), Going crazy (this song tells how hard life is without God and His guidance and how we can't live without Him), Start to fly (this song is meant for people who don't have a deep enough connection with God and not enough faith and how they shouldn't give up because what's happened in their past), Calling down an angel (this is for those who have doubts about God and how He's going to help them find that He is true), Forever (Forever is a long time to be without you in my life, I wanna keep you by my side `cause forever is a long time. The chorus), and Who am I? (Who am I without God? What could describe it better?). And ten of these great songs are written by the band members. I think anyone from about age 8 to age 20 will love this (provided you're christian).

5-0 out of 5 stars This is just what people need.
In this world nowdays people don't care about God and that he created them and don't even give God a chance you should because he can really help your life so I encourage anyone that isn't going to church or doesn't know God to read this message. And get this CD it has great songs and the words are just magical and make you feel good plus is a good way to help you just know how much God loves you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD.....one thing though:
One note about the acoustic tracks: "Shut Me Out" and "Somewhere In The Sky" are originally written as upbeat, harder-hitting rock songs. They sound somewhat odd as acoustic tracks. The bridge in "Somewhere In The Sky" has Jon Micah yelling and screaming- IN A "QUIET" ACOUSTIC SONG!!!! I'm sorry, but i have to say it just sounds dumb. (my apologies to Jon Micah :)
5-0 out of 5 stars Kutless Does it Again!!!
This is an Amazing Album, Even the Acoustic songs. I pre-ordered this album on there site and got it today. The dvd alone is Awesome. You get all 7 videos they made. Looking forward to future Albums from Kutless.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy, lyrically deep, musically complex - Kutless' best stuff yet!
I'll start off by simply saying that this album just blew me away! It is probably their heaviest album yet (even moreso than their first self-titled album) as they really rock out pretty much throughout the entire album. "Shut Me Out," "Hearts of the Innocent," "Beyond the Surface," "Somewhere in the Sky," "Million Dollar Man," and "Legacy" are just a few of the highlights. There are some great "slower", but still awesome ones on here in "Smile," "Promise of a Lifetime," "Mistakes," and "Changing World" as well.

Editorial Review

Jennifer Knapp's third major-label release is filled with moments of agony and wisdom, as Knapp find ways to describe the daily struggles of everyday life with clarity and insight. The music ranges from the guitar-based, folk-rock writing style of her previous work on such tracks as the beautiful "Say Won't You Say" and the confessional "In Two (The Lament)," but she also shakes the walls a bit with the rocking "The Way I Am." As Knapp's muse matures, so does her confidence in trying different sounds, thanks in part to producer Tony McAnany. Several tracks here are heavily orchestrated (by the London Symphony Orchestra, no less), including the poignant closer, "No Regrets." As her many song-stories of faith testify, Knapp knows that the human condition is one of longing for something more. On Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Christian album ever...
You may think that's not such a glowing recommendation, given the fact that the overwhelming majority of Contemporary Christian Music is subpar at best. However, this album sets the bar that all other CCM albums should be judged against.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Lyrics, Great Sound
As with her first two albums, Kansas and Lay It Down, Ms. Knapp combines a beautiful sound with meaningful, Christian lyrics. Her sound is rock at times and folk at others.
4-0 out of 5 stars The Melissa Etheridge of Christian Music
Jennifer Knapp is an excellent musician, somehow managing to spin folk, rock, and Christian into one musical category. She has a distinct voice that is just gritty enough to grab your attention and soft enough to make it oh-so pleasant.I haven't heard a song by this artist that has fallen short yet.

Editorial Review

ForeFront Records' newest act--The Benjamin Gate--is in keepingwith the label's tradition of introducing truly cutting-edge Christiansounds. With a roaring chorus of guitars and singer AdrienneLiesching's enigmatic vocals, this South African fivesome cover newground on the musical map. Sure you'll listen to the call-and-answerchoruses by Liesching on "All Over Me" and think about the Cranberries,or, for older fans, maybe even Siouxsie and theBanshees. But the similarities end with the Godly message stampedon each riveting rocker. Think Christian bands can't shake sonicfoundations? Check out the fury of "Lay It Down" or the enthrallingalternative rocker "Secret." And for those quieter moments, the Gategives us the lonely sounding and moving ballad "Hands." It may take afew listens to grow on you, but this release is a thoughtful anddynamic debut for a world that sorely needs it. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good sound
Now, I may not be the best guy to judge music, but I've really enjoyed this CD and keep on coming back to it. As a Christian Band, the Gate has deeply engrained their beliefs into their music, in other words, you can tell. Nice rocking sounds most of the time, good vocals, found these guys (and girl) through pandora.com and simply had to have the CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars The more... the better
The more you listen to this music, the more you will like it.As an American that has been to South Africa twice, I find their adventurous and stalwart character represented here yet again in their stand for their faith in Jesus Christ. One can only have admiration and appreciation for this project.May you be once again reminded of the greatness of God and his unlimited compassion in this cd as I have been.

3-0 out of 5 stars Music: Phenomenal Lyrics:repetitive repetitive repetitive...
Benjamin Gate were a South African Christian alternative rock band led by female vocalist Adrienne Liesching. ("The actual Benjamin Gate was one of the original gates in the walls of ancient Jerusalem that they used to herd the young sheep through," explains the band's drummer, Brett Palmer. "For us, that directly relates to youth, and our music being a gateway between the church and the world." Now you know where the odd name comes from...) They released 2 albums before breaking up when Liesching wed fellow Christian rocker Jeremy Camp. Along the way, the group traded in gnarly guitar riffs but with plenty of "techno" touches (phased keyboards and filtered vocals) and the powerhouse tender or tough vocals from 19 year old Adrienne. The comparisons to Garbage are probably about the best in terms of sonics, though this group tends to be "heavier" than Garbage usually is. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of Their Best
This is without a doubt my favorite O.C. Supertones album. And I believe it to be their best. one of the things that seperate these guys from alot of other bands out their that their album songs are great. But if you have seen these guys live they are even better. That is a mark of a truly great band. And they are Christian so you know that they are going to be clean. They are incredibly goofy in their songs and concerts. lol. I mean they bring a surfboard to their concerts and go crowd surfing that is hilarious. They have crazy stage antics. running around doing the first thing that comes to mind. It's like an ADD convention with lots of great music.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great cd. A true ska favorite
Amazing album. I've been listening to the Supertones since their roots. This is a true third wave ska album. It's more rocky than poppy like five iron frenzy(r.i.p.), but definately different than poopy third wave ska like No Doubt). If you like this album (which you will!) check out The Isrealites, Plankeye, Fanmail, Five Iron Frenzy, The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, The Insyderz, The Skatalites, Tastysnax, The W's(more swingy), and Ghoti Hook.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth it
Not being a huge fan of Michael W. Smith doesn't mean you can't appreciate this CD. This CD works because the worship doesn't become a smarmy, meaningless amalgum of non-discript "pop gospel," much too common nowadays. Instead, each song is like an intense, honest prayer. Some artists' prayers are gritty; some are less so. Even MWS is good! DC Talk's "My Will," Crystal Lewis' "Salvation Belongs to the Lord" and Third Day's "Agnus Dei" are the cream of the crop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worship music at its BEST
Michael W. Smith organized one of the best, if not THE BEST compilation of Christian music I have ever heard. This album has NOTHING BUT CLASSICS and I would be lying if I said I haven't listened to it 50-60 times in the last couple years. The indirect tribute to Rich Mullins at the end just clinches the heart and creativity of the CD.(I would give this CD 6 stars if I could!)5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome worship CD that stands the test of time!
This album came out over 3 years ago and it is still one of my favorites. It came out before Praise and Worship music really took off in popularity (it was always popular, I mean the more "modern" worship songs). This compilation was put together by Michael W. Smith, whose newest album "Worship" is due to be released on 9/11/01. Every single song on this album is unique and a real work of art. There isn't a "weak" song on this album! The artists include newcomers (back in 1998 they were newcomers!) Chris Rice and The Katinas. Actually, the Katinas' song on this album, Draw Me Close, was the first I had heard them. Later, they came out with their own album, which many people rushed to buy after hearing them on Exodus! Even though all the songs are so different from each other, the album works together as a whole to bring you to throne of God, in worship! It's just incredible! Actually, my favorite tracks are the last half of the album, which you can't listen to here on Amazon! You'll have to trust me on this one - this album is a must-have for any Christian music fan. My favorites are actually the last 3 songs on the album. Third Day does an INCREDIBLE job on Michael W Smith's "Agnus Dei" (from "Go West Young Man"). Such powerful worship!! The next song is Crystal Lewis' renditon of "Salvation Belong to Our God" and then Michael himself sings Rich Mullins' song "I See You". Rich Mullins died in a car accident less than a year before this album was released. His life and death had a powerful impact on Michael W Smith, and "I See You" is an amazing ending to a fabulous worship project! I'd have to put this album in my list of all-time favorite Christian albums! Please check out my other reviews of Christian music and Christian books. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Album to fall asleep to.
After making "Them," PFR broke up in 1997.This cd could of been better had ithad some killer rocking tunes like "Them". 5-0 out of 5 stars Missing band
I, like so many others, was disappointed at PFR's split in 97.Of course, this was marked by periodic reunions (the Phoenix benefit concert, "Kingdom Come", etc.).So, finally, the band reunited to do an album.4-0 out of 5 stars Not so late, but still great
1997 was not a great year for those who like good Christian music.Rich Mullins died in a car accident, and PFR announced that they would soon stop recording together to pursue individual projects. At the time, PFR was possibly the most original, most musically talented band in Christian music, and their decision was heartbreaking for their many fans.Read more
