Front porch music!
You don't have to be particularly religious to enjoy this cd.Down-home comfort music just doesn't come any better.I'd start namin' off favorites, but nearly every song is a potential earworm.

Great bluegrass touch, masterful delivery!
Oh, how perfect could it be! This Randy Travis worship album is perfect all the way around. Not only does it present excellent bluegrass arrangments (this music is REAL- you can even hear the picks stricking the strings of the instruments!), but Randy's sweet, emotional voice makes all of these old songs a brand new experience.
No one is perfect, but..............
this album comes close.I gave it five stars for many reasons, even though I think he should have left a couple of songs out (But, that may just be me), and included others better suited to him.But, that's true of most artist's albums.How many times is there a 20-song album that is perfect on every song?I would think "never", and that is true of this album also.I've seen many other lesser albums rated 5 stars, even with one or two mediocre songs, but this album one has 20 songs on it. How much more do you expect for your money, Elvis singing a duet with Jesus?O.K. maybe that isn't funny, but you get the point.

These Songs' are worth Owning
It was late 1989 or early 90',pretty near the end of the concert when Rich started playing that familiar little piano intro,I imediatly recognized it and thought "Why in the world is he playing that song?That's an Amy Grant song!"Then,just as quickly i remembered,"He wrote that song!He has every right to play it as anyone else".Rich made the keyboard sound like an orchestra that night, even though he was backed by a full band.During "If i Stand" he noticed I was singing along to every word and stopped playing and singing and said that it was really humblingto him to see the crowd know all the words to his songs.I met him after the concert and he was very nice,though his hair looked like it hadn't been combed in days.I still have the album he signed for me and I remember chatting with him on this and another occasion a few years later.This man,like Keith Green was one of a kind.His albums are all brilliant, but this one is a definate must have.His version of "Sing your Praise to the Lord" blows Amy Grant's out of the water easily."Verge of a Miracle",a song written for one of Rich's friends who tried to commit suicide has a message that is as relevant now as it was back then when it was written."My one Thing" is a catchy pop song with a great chorus.I think we can all remember the first time we heard "Awesome God",we knew it was different than the other songs on the radio at that time,who knew then that years after his passing ,that it would be sung in churches all over the world in different languages.The music is timeless,the production is superb, the songs and the message are sent from above.I reccomend Rich Mullins music to everyone!Enjoy!

Praise experience
This CD has many of the praise songs that are both familiar and appreciated. A good listening experiece to take you into another realm. Definately recommended.

Beautiful, Anointed Worship
Although Matt Redman is a great song writer and musician, his true anointing is as a worshipper.This excellent live recording allows us a glimpse of Matt's sensitivity to the Spirit's leading in worship, without ever compromising production quality.

This is a great CD! Although, since it is a live CD, so all of the songs don;t have that off the radio sound. Also, many of the songs have been recorded by other artist other than Matt Redman, so, although they are HIS songs, they don't always sound the same as what you have heard before. Superb worship
Third Day set high standards for themselves when they released Offerings: A Worship Album, in 2000.The second in what will hopefully become a series of worship releases by the Georgia quintet, All I Have To Give equals, if not surpasses, the first effort.With six new studio tracks and six live concert cuts, this CD will gratify fans who are eager for exclusive material, and inspire thousands to sing along in worship to God.
Good follow-up to the first
This album is a great worshipful album, with mostly slow to medium tempo worship songs."Creed" is probably the most uptempo song on the album, and I find it a bit jarring in the context of the album.It's a great song, but doesn't seem to "fit" where it is in the album.

Superb Mountain Soul
This generous collection of many standards from the gospel and "mountain soul" tradition is priceless. Randy sings them with genuine feeling and fervent conviction; you truly believe in his belief in every word he sings. The instrumental accompaniment is professional to the nth degree with some dizzyingly fast guitar and Dobro solos. Yet for all the virtuosity the musicians convey warm tones and heartfelt emotions throughout. Randy Travis brings new meaning to these timeless standards.

Travis Going His Own Way
I like RT because he is not afraid to explore his own musical directions, wherever the spirit may take him.The old time spiritual feel is complimented on this collection of recordings by a masterful interpretation on Travis' part.Congrats on a big success :)A song I wrote called "Changes" is modeled after the Travis graceful style.

This CD Makes Every Day Sunday Morning
I've been a fan of Randy Travis since his 1986 debut, STORMS OF LIFE. While I still enjoy his secular albums, Travis's warm baritone is the perfect instrument for gospel music, and GLORY TRAIN (his fifth gospel album in six years) is arguably his best. A Great Love Opera for All, Not Just Gay Men
This is an excellent album by a duet with wonderfully blending voices. Read the words your first listening and you will realize that it is, more or less, an opera, telling of their falling in love with each other. But it's message of love is universal and it's not just for gay men. They bring a great deal of soul and heart to yours.

Amazing Voices!!
The first track, "Trying to Get to You," is awesome!!!If for no other reason, this album is worth getting for that one song.This duo has a clear, intelligent sound that transcends all walks of life.

Romantic, playful and poingnant

Singable?Worship+Able
This is a good CD and I've often seen people comment on how "canned" and "unsingable" a a CD set might be but it shouldn't apply to this great compilation.
Conference Memories
I think what many people do not understand about this CD, as well as Sacred Revolution, is that they are live recordings from conferences such as OneDay and Passion.The songs on these CDs are mere snippets from the over-all experience of each conference.To me, they serve as reminders of the conferences & bring back memories of what I learned & experienced there (which, at a Passion conference is always profound & challenging).Unlike at a concert, where the focus is on the music & audience enjoyment, the songs at a Passion conference specifically coincide with what is happening, either the message that was just given, or perhaps the focus of the moment (missions, prayer, adoration, a specific verse etc).The CDs contain the "most memorable" songs & moments for those who participated, which probably doesn't necessarily resonate with those who weren't there.The artists on the CD all have their own albums, which are probably more representative of their musical abilities & are produced for a wider audience.If you haven't attended a Passion conference, you may not "get" this CD.So instead of complaining about this album, I'd recommend all the artists' individual projects: David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall, Shane & Shane, Christy Nockels.

poor excuse for worship music
This is a pep rally on CD; an unsingable, emotionally charged pep rally.It really upsets me that this is the face of today's Christian music.The melodies are not easily singable at all, and the songs use all the same musical cliches.This is worship manipulation at it's best.If you read the words to learn something concrete about God, you will find nothing of substance.They talk about actions to give God and our response to God, but no meat-and-potatoes of WHY we should be doing this.God IS great, but WHY?This is VERY disturbing, and completely unacceptable for congregational worship. ... From the early days of her career when an energetic teen-aged Rebecca St. James burst on the Christian music market, she defied conventional wisdom. The voice was unlike any other, the music sported styles from classical to 80’s new wave to techno-pop, and the net effect was like a breath of fresh air to casual listeners and fans alike. After a worship- focused release and extensive touring, this likeable Aussie is back with her best effort to date: If I Had One Chance To Tell You Something. The overall mood is transparent, open, and a revealing set of songs that chronicle the highs and lows of a woman embracing her faith. "God Help Me" is a great starter, a dark and smoldering rocker with a sense of urgency and RSJ sings "I’m running out of time to live/Running out of love to give/Running out of life within/God help me." "Shadowlands" and "Alive" also are lively, rock-tinged tracks showing she has plenty of spunk left. Not quite TRANSFORMing but one of her best nonetheless
This album's being hailed as St. James' return to rock and indeed the guitars are more in your face than on past efforts but it's not likely to remind anyone of P.O.D. or Linkin Park. Rather, it's more of rocky pop sound not unlike Evanescence or Kelly Clarkson's last release (uncomfortably so at the beginning of "Alive" which apes "Since You've Been Gone" so closely as to risk lawsuit.)
One of Rebecca's best!!!!
I got this CD for Christmas and I LOVE it!! This is my 2nd favorite RSJ album(the first being Transform). It is different than her previous albums. It has more of a rock sound to it than her earlier projects. If you don't like RSJ,but like rock,than you would like this album. I told my friend Savannah(who hates Rebecca St. James) that this album had more of a rock sound because she likes rock. She bought this CD and liked it!! If you believe this 14 year old girl and buy this CD, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!!!!

Wow!
Okay, this has now officially trumped "Wait for Me" as my favorite CD, and I just got it today. My favorite songs are God Help Me, which is an astonishingly dark, agonized cry for help which I have felt enough pain to relate with; Alive; You are Loved, which expresses a desire I've always felt: to be able to speak directly and anonymously into someone's heart, telling them something that they really need to know but would be kind of awkward to say aloud -- usually, as Rebecca says, it's 'You are loved'. Then I also loved Shadowlands; Love Being Loved by You; I Need You, which is such a simple, moving song about a really close friendship that it makes you want to cry; Beautiful Stranger, about how whenever you help anyone, absolutely anyone, in need, you're doing it for Jesus; I Can Trust You; and Lest I Forget, a soft song that says in its chorus,

Hopes were higher for the first all-gospel release by Del McCoury, perhaps the finest singer in bluegrass, whose a cappella "Get Down on Your Knees and Pray" has long been a show-stopping highlight of his live performances. Though the album showcases McCoury's keening tenor and the virtuosity of his band, the results fall short of divine inspiration. Most of the material tends toward the obscure; whatever the spiritual message, some of the music simply isn't as compelling as the range McCoury typically offers on his secular releases. It's hard to believe that it took Del McCoury more than forty years to record his first all-gospel album, but THE PROMISED LAND was worth the wait. This 14-track collection is a treat for the ears as well as the soul.

Promising Album Fails To Deliver But A Handful Of Gems
I believe that no active bluegrass act sings and plays traditional bluegrass music better than the Del McCoury Band does.I have gone to see this band play more often in the 1990s and 2000s than any other band.Not only are their performances of the highest caliber, they are very entertaining to observe on stage.The new bassist/baritone vocalist, Alan Bartram, is a positive addition to the group.Having said all this, since the late 1990s the Del McCoury Band has veered further and further away from traditional bluegrass music with each new album.There's nothing wrong with this shift, but anymore it is difficult for me to consider them as a traditional bluegrass band.Since I prefer my bluegrass in the traditional vein, I was hoping that their new gospel release, "The Promised Land," would find them returning to the traditional roots of bluegrass.It does, to a fair degree.However, it still disappoints.

`Winans', `Hawkins' and `Crouch' are like brand names
`Winans', `Hawkins' and `Crouch' are like brand names - with gospel heritage and guaranteed quality attached to whatever they produce.And Vickie Winans is as seasoned a singer and minister as the more popular Winans or BeBe and CeCe.W2WSoL is a double CD (1½ studio, ½ live) appearing to be aimed at a wide Christian audience; the artwork oozes class with Mrs Winans in a Cinderella frock unsuitable for rush-hour commuting!More importantly there's a range of music styles so there's something for everyone, so to speak.
Welcome Back, Lady!!
Vickie Winans has returned to the forefront in a marvelous way!A double cd packed with soulful, jazzy, heartfelt tunes that makes a listener want to pull the car to the side of the road, as I did to thank the Lord for blessing me throughout my life. I can already envision many in the traditional gospel community being conflicted about this project because there is little that would lead you to an overall churchy feel.And while I can appreciate that sentiment, I am certainly not disappointed in Vickie's effort right about now in the least. Mario's tribute to his mom with 30 reasons, literally had me in tears.I can only hope that my son can see the same in me!The only thing that left me with a question of "why" was her photo collage insert.Vickie is by no doubt a beautiful sister, as is her mother but I didn't quite understand the necessity of such.

You Go Vickie
I just picked up this one mainly because I love "It's Alright".I didnt much like the video though when I saw it.It featured a marching band which I understood the concept since the song has a very heavy drum/bassline to it.But I did wonder where the direction towards God was.If you listen to the song...God is there, dont know why she left Him out of the video though.But, then again it seems like a lot of Gospel artists are doing this in their videos.Overall, I loved the album.It was 100 times better than her last effort.I had a problem with that one since it was about 50 remixes of about 5 songs.This one is a double CD and has something for everyone.It has upbeat tempos for those who love the R&B sound, some with Jazzy tempos (which I loved), some with slower more churchy like feels.I believe it is a very good CD.I was quite frankly surprised that I would like it this much...especially after the last one.Glad I stepped out on faith and got it. ... A winning follow-up to "Worship"
When I first heard this album, I had to admit that my first thought was that this was not as good as the first "Worship" album.I felt that parts of it were a bit too slow, and not as many contemporary worship standards were on it.Well, as time has gone on, I have grown almost as fond of this album as the first "Worship" one.
A great blend of Worship Music
I enjoy various tracks of this album, I enjoy track 1, but then find myself searching ahead to track 8 on... but the music from track 8 on is awesome.The only track that does not fit the album at all is the last song, not even sure what this song (I think it's about the Statue of Liberty) is doing on an album of praise and worship music to God is beyond me.All in all, worth the money for some very well arranged christian music.

Still Very Much Jazz Piano, But With Gospel Influence...
Award-winning Ramsey Lewis has produced a live CD that is not such a radical departure from his jazz piano style that it should both his regular jazz fans while reaching out to a broader audience, Christians (if they hear about it).WITH ONE VOICE, despite the title, is pretty much an instrumental CD, with some vocals provided by a gospel choir, Smokie Norful and on perhaps my favorite song, the 8-minute "Healed Heart," the R&B sound of Darius Brooks.The CD opens with a unique, choir-accompanied cover of the upbeat and well-known "Oh Happy Day"--and Lewis doesn't cut this track short, but gives us 6-1/2 celebratory minutes. Other notable songs include "Trees," which has some interesting strings, and "Keep the Spirit," with its reggae beat and sounds accompanying the piano.This is just a delightfully fresh, worshipful CD, nice for a gift--even to oneself(!), something to have playing in the background as I go about routine activities.For clarification, though this CD has been described by some as a "gospel" CD, and in a way it is, it is still primarily a jazz style CD.

My CD "With one voice", by Ramsey Lewis was in excellent condition when I received it.
amazing blend of Jazz and Gospel
This is the freshest sound in jazz in years and one of the best. The fusion of Ramsey Lewis' driving piano with a large choir is amazingly powerful when both play off the same melody lines, but even the soft sounds at times are beautiful. Simply Brilliant
Mat brings together so much in this album.Every song has an interesting beat and rhythm to it.What ties it all together for me is Mat's voice and the way he uses lyrics is unlike anyone I've heard do such music.

"I Will"...continue to listen to this cd!
This is what real anointed, young, Gospel sounds like. Its not forced to be "young sounding", it just is. Although you hear more of today's generation, a person who listens to John P. Kee would still like this album because you can still hear that influence. 5 Stars all the way

Love this cd. I saw them on TBN with Kirk Franklin and they sang the song "Yours" and I was like Imust get their Cd because that song is great. So, I went out and brought it and so far I am in love with it. My fav. songs are Yours, Surrounded, I Will, Latter Rain, Cover Me.

This album is fun and profound...
Amy Grant's "Collection" is a great place for anyone to get a taste of the first decade of Amy's musical career.This album includes most of her biggest hits and best songs.When I listen to this album, it brings me back to the days in the mid-80's when my family would listen to her cassette tapes in our car on family vacations.There really isn't a bad song on the album, though "Angels," "Sing Your Praise to the Lord," and "El Shaddai" are three of the best.As many times as I've listened to these songs, this collection is still a lot of fun, and it includes some great spiritual depth, as well.I'd recommend it for anyone.

God was in this album
At first I was not a major fan of youthful praise because I never really fell in love with their music, even though I did like a couple of songs they did. However, this album gives me a different view of these gifted young singers. The album is good from the beginning until the end. I could not find one bad song on the album. The best most stood out song on the album has to be Incredible God, Incredible Praise. I listen the this song atleast once a day because our God truly deserves Incredible Praise. This Cd Has songs for the old as well as the new. You will not be dissappointed in this album because the music on here will be a bleesing in your life. Keep up the good work youthful praise and let God continue to use you.

This is an awsome extension to their album A Collision. I like bluegrass, or hoedown music and that is what most of this is. Some songs have a heavy feel to it, though. I believe this is so because it says in their "album booklet" that their pastor died. They already created an album about death, A Collision, but they didnt expect this. So they remixed or "Acoustic-ted" some songs. I like this album, and Im sure if you like David Crowder at all, you will like it too. P.S. I love the banjo.

David Crowder*Band produces another great album! B Collision is a great addition for any Crowder fan. With faves from A Collision remixed and reinvented, this album is a real gem. There are even a few live versions of some other greats like "I Saw the Light". Don't forget the full version of "Everybody Wants to go to Heaven". It is definitely one that gets stuck in your head!

Stellar Kart is STELLAR
I love Stellar Kart so much!! They sound like Relient K and Hawk Nelson mixed and i love both of those bands.

Let Down From "All Gas, No Brake"
First of all, nobody can argue that Stellar kart is defining boundaries in music. But that's not what they set out to do. This guys are pop punk, and with this album, much more on the side of pop. The effect on his voice (it's definitely not raw) gets old fast, and adds to the lack of distinguishable traits that would make their songs unique. Most of the second half blends into a one big piece of pop for me. But I do like Stellar Kart, I really enjoyed their first album, it was much less produced and much better, in my opinion. So from a fan that enjoys MxPx, Relient k, Hawk Nelson debut etc, I would not recommend this album. The first is much better, and it is money worth spending. And I definitely do not agree with the below reviews statement that it beats MxPx And Relient K's latest album. And the blink 182 reference doesn't make sense with me.
