Incredible CD
I have one word for this CD 'INCREDIBLE'.
Best Corporate Worship CD of all time!
Yes, David Crowder Band is my favorite to listen to, but this is the ultimate in corporate worship.A praise and worship band could easily do a whole set of just these songs and the crowd would sing along loud with every word.My favorites include: Enough, Not To Us, Wonderful Maker, Famous One, Unchanging, and Come Home Running.But let's face it, there's not one bad song on here.And judging how good "Arriving" was, Chris Tomlin has proven that he is the real deal.He has a great voice, great song structure, and you will always find a bible-centered message.This CD is timeless and I will have it forever (or until the CD disintegrates from being overplayed!).

Awesome way to say "Adios"
For me, I've never been really big on Audio Adrenaline. Most of the songs on their albums have been hit or miss so it was never worth it for me to own an album of theirs. Even their old greatest hits album didn't work for me, but not this one. This one's chunky. It has the best of the best of their songs (minus "Dirty" from Worldwide) and what better way can one say "Goodbye" while going out in a "Blaze of Glory"? I reccomend this cd to fans and "hit or miss" folk like myself.

A great way to go out
I am truly sad to see these guys go as you can tell by my nickname I am a huge classic rock fan but no matter who I listened to I always came back to these guys. They are Christian Rock at its best. I have all of their albums from their self-titled debut to this one. I'm still going to wait for their anthology but I don't think its going to happen.

This is a superb album that deserves to be in the collection of any fan of great Christian rock.

Bland, bland, bland
They were going through some blah years I guess when they recorded this one and "Sea of Faces". Usually praise and worship songs stir the soul but I found this CD lacking in the thing I like best in musicians - emotion. The sound of the songs ground me down. Kutless' "Strong Tower" really started to lean by the end of the CD. I was actually glad when it was over!! It has since gone on my CD shelf and hasn't gone into my CD player again. Maybe I can sell it on Amazon or some auction site? Hmmmmm

Step out of your preconceptions and actually LISTEN to this great album!
This is not your parents' worship album. You'll know that from the first guitar riff on We Fall Down, Strong Tower is a combination of new music and traditional worship songs with Kutless' own spin. The second track, Finding Who We Are, is sung with real conviction. "In You, we're living. In You, we're moving. In You, we're finding who we are." It's completely believable, and it feels like the lyrics could've been written just for them.
5 Stars, All The Way
LOVE this CD.I keep it in my car for my interminable commute to work and back.The band knows how to rock out, but the spirituality comes through strong.

Praise and Worship at it's finest
This Shekinah Glory Live recording is just outstanding. Both CD's are uplifting and inspiring, but the second CD with the 5th track and the 11th, Praise is what we do, I listen to it over and over.

By this time, her voice had taken on a slight huskiness, which only strengthened its emotional power. Much of the credit belongs to Vince Gill, who adds tasteful mandolin runs and gorgeous tenor harmonies, as well Emory Gordy (bass, bass vocals) and Carl Jackson (guitar, baritone vocals). An Enduring Performance of Classic Gospel Works
I picked this albumn up in cassette format back around 1991, after having seen Emmylou and her "Angel Band" perform one of the songs on Garrison Keillor's "Prairie Home Companion" PBS special. We played it continuously at home and on road trips--my kids remember singing along to "Drifting Too Far From the Shore" with their stuffed animals.I love the vocal arrangement and fast picking on "We Shall Rise". "Who Will Sing for Me" and "Someday My Ship Will Sail" are especially moving. You cannot go wrong in adding this to your collection.

Bluegrass gospel by a master
If you like Bluegrass and you like Southern Gospel, you'll enjoy this recording very much. Ms. Harris is in fine form on these selections. My only "beef" with the album is that she isn't as faithful to the standards (e.g. the title cut "Angel Band") as I would like. However, that's a personal opinion, and not a criticism of her talent and virtuosity.

Devotional masterpiece
Angel Band is one of Emmylou Harris' more obscure albums, a flawless gem of mostly traditional songs where her spiritual expression reigns supreme. Backed by acoustic and bass guitars, dobro, fiddle, mandolin, mandola and viola, the vocals are particularly impressive with the tenor of Vince Gill, the baritone of Carl Jackson and the bass of Emory Gordy interweaving perfectly with Emmylou's gorgeous voice.

Revolution Before "Revolution."
When the single "Stomp" was released on radio and debuted on MTV, controversy loomed over the heads of Kirk Franklin and God's Property, the Texas-based young adult gospel choir. What people failed to realize was that this song was a sigh of relief for everyone in gospel music. It inspired a new and youthful Christian audience and no artist or any album created before it in the history of gospel music had sold anywhere close to 3 million records. Regardless of the album sales, although 1997 would prove to be a successful and even tumultuous year for both Kirk Franklin and God's Property, the album does what most gospel recordings are supposed to do; edify God and create an awesome atmosphere of praise & worship. It's a phenomenal record and one of Kirk Franklin's greatest projects ever produced. There is so much depth on this album. The sound quality is outstanding, God's Property has powerful voices, the vocal & musical arrangements are essential and the spirit of this album is revolutionary. This album was also bolstered by the audio sweetening of Mark Williams & Kevin Bond and guided by production duo Buster & Shavoni, who produced with Kirk Franklin on the "Whatcha Lookin' 4" album. Not only did Kirk write and produce 9 of the 13 songs presented but also got some help from G.P. members Greg Brown, Larron Vaughn, Myron Butler, (before introducing Levi) & Robert "Sput" Searight (producer/keyboardist/percussionist) with writing expertise. A Different Handle on Handel
This recording was given to me as a Christmas gift, and quickly became one of my all time favorites. I love Handel's Messiah, and consider it one of the all time greatest classical works ever composed for voices and instruments. That said, this contemporary interpretation is also wonderful. It features some of my favorite artists (Stevie Wonder, Take 6, Patti Austin); I especially love Tevin Campbell's "I Know My Redeemer Liveth," which never fails to move me. I not only listen to this music at Christmastime, but whenever I feel the need to be lifted and lightened.

The Best Christmas Album
I've had this CD since it first came out, have bought and given many copies to friends (some even on cassette tape - remember those?), and play it year round.This is simply my favorite piece of Christmas music and is one of my top 5 favorite CD's of my entire music collection.I play it LOUDLY in the car and at home and have been known to break it down, measure by measure, in order to figure out the arrangements.I've performed the traditional Messiah more times than I can count and love it, yet I am delighted and astounded every time I listen to this fresh, innovative and dynamic piece of music (like I said, year round).Thank you, thank you to all the musicians, artists, engineers and technicians who put this piece together.I agree with a previous reviewer - I think Handel would be so very pleased that his work is standing the test of time.Open your mind and your ears and enjoy.

One of the best
I am one of those who not only loves great music, but lyrics that make me think.Switchfoot has hit on both with this release.Meant to Live, This Your Life, Dare You to Move headline a cd that challenges us in our lives and point us to something greater.Sample these songs especially and see what you think!

Doesn't spend much time in my player...
I tend to rate music by how much I play it.Interestingly, though this is probably my third favorite cd in my collection, it doesn't find my stereo very often for some reason.Hence, only four stars.However, I still highly recommend it, as the songs are solid and there isn't a single 'bad' song on the disc.

Good stuff...
I'm not a huge Third Day fan, and I find the worship album genre to be totally saturated.However, this album emerges near the top.
Not your Grandma's worship album
I love Third Day, and this album, while a different feel from their other, more "rock" cds is fantastic.I love worship music that doesn't feel drippy or trite, and this is it.From the beautiful "Love Song" to the powerful remake of "Agnus Dei" and the great cover of Dylan's "Saved" this is a picture perfect modern rock CD.The song "Thief", basically a narrative of the repentant man on the cross next to Jesus is very thought-provoking and moving, and don't miss the hidden track at the end.

I love Third Day and, of all their CDs, this is the one I keep putting in the car stereo.I just saw them a couple of weeks ago on their current tour and they played several songs from this CD (my favorites are "Consuming Fire" and the one they said was their most-requested song, "Thief").

I heard a cut of this cd on XM Radio and wanted more!
Jonathan Elias's Prayer Cycle is a spiritual vocal symphony.He used well-known artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, and others that I don't know, but are best choices!
all I can say is WOW
One word ties this together. One sentence makes this seem clear to me - not only moving, ever changing, or realistic. The Prayer Cycle not only changed my views, but created new ones. Powerful, enriching, and perfect. A perfect way to relax, remember, and love. A must for everybody, this album reflects not what one can do, but one needs in order to accomplish, motivation and desire.

I found this CD by chance sitting in the case of another CD in a meeting room in a Dominican retreat center. Within a minute through the first track I was absolutely hooked.

It may seem curious to the casual music observer that Texas-based pop band Sixpence None The Richer, who had one big hit in "Kiss Me" and one semi-hit with their version of the La’s "There She Goes" would have enough material to release a greatest hits collection in full album form as opposed to, say, an EP. While both tracks are included here ("Kiss Me", in fact, shows up twice), other songs culled from the band's archive, as well as contributions from assorted compilations, provide plenty more listening pleasure for Sixpence fans as Leigh Nash's sleepy vocals complement catchy hook-driven melodies in slickly produced studio arrangements. Some of the brighter spots on the record are actually covers of other artists' greatest hits that force Sixpence None The Richer out of their comfort zone and into more intriguing territory, such as on Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" and ABBA's "Dancing Queen". Three previously unreleased songs are also included. Read more

Should've been a 2 disc set with "Best of the Early Years"
1. Loser Like Me ~ A catchy song with quirky, honest lyrics. This is one of the 3 all-new songs, and a prime reason to own this album.
The last reminder is the best!
Farewell, Sixpence None the Richer. The duo of singer Leigh Nash and musician Matt Slocum split almost exactly two years ago, but their music continues to live. This CD is no exception. It contains the best of their songs, from the immensely famous and catchy "Kiss Me", to the lovely cover version of "Don't Dream It's Over". I have another country's edition, one that has 19 tracks. Some songs from this US version are not in the edition I have, and vice-versa.
Very good pop music, but none of the songs are good enough to earn this a "5" - you'll still like it a lot - 4.5 stars
Sixpence None The Richer was one of those early 90's pop groups that churned out some decent, not great, pop music hits. They weren't as good as any Prince or Michael Jackson pop song, for example, but they were at least not entirely cheesy. The vocals, however, ARE pretty cheesy and are most certainly a guilty pleasure. The songs definitely have a unique sound to them as the band definitely found their sound, and they all are relatively decent or good. The lyrics are all fun to listen to, but none of them are that interesting longterm - they're essentially just really really catchy. For casual fans of the band, all their hits are included on this CD ("Kiss Me", "There She Goes", "Loser Like Me"...etc). The downside to the album is that the songs are all basically novelty songs that neither inspired future musicians nor stuck with most people to form any sort of following. However, if you liked their songs then you'll love this collection. Highly recommended!

Stellar debut!
Friends of mine bought tickets for all of us to see Mark Schultz about 5 years ago. I had no idea who he was, only that he was a "new" Contemporary Christian musician. I cringe at that label, because there is so much garbage out there that calls itself "Christian". I figured that I ought to know the songs, so I took a listen at the samples on Amazon. Even from those short snippets, I knew he was something special. I ran out the same day and bought the CD. Every song is worth listening to! I love his mastery of the piano, and his voice is incredible. He is one of those rare songwriting masters, also. He can tell a great story in his music, and not only are you wanting to hear the music, you'll find yourself dying to know how the story ends. He'll make you laugh and cry. This CD is not to be missed; and I don't just mean for Christian music fans, either!

A great album...
I first became familiar with the music of Mark Schultz when I heard "Remember Me" at a friend's wedding.Shortly thereafter, I bought this album and have since become a big Mark Schultz fan.
Mark Schultz "He's my Son"
This song is one of Mark Shultz' best, he has so many good songs, but this one really reaches deep down into your heart and touches you.Although you don't see the progression of this father son relationship it is obvious from the lyrics that this father was a good dad who spent time with his son and nurtured their relationship as a father should. The care, love, and compassion that this father shows for his child who is dying of Luekemia is the same love that Jesus speaks of in the gospel of John. In the song, after explaining the suffering his son is going through he pleads with God to "Let me take his place somehow"It says in the bible in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." It is so refreshing to hear a song that expresses the great love a father has for his son and to know that God the father loves us in the very same way. Jesus layed down his life for us and that is the greatest love of all.
