5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Music To my Ears
I am a very younge mother of 2. But this music is great. I am new in the christian world. And some of these songs...like...NEVER ALONE....and MIRROR...YOU LED ME....are some of the songs that have touched me and made a difference. I do not even remember how I came across them but I believe it was the good Lord. I have always been infulenced by music. This music has taught me and guided me. A wonderful insperation and great music for everyone... yes that is mom and dad included...my husband likes them...as much as he hates to admit it. I say it is a great buy....there are a 1 or 2 songs on the CD I could do without but overall...just wonderfully put together. I look forward to another CD from them.

3-0 out of 5 stars Girl, At Least the Bar Wasn't That Low
Here's a Punk/Rock Christian band that is okay. Their lyrics are cheesey but the band does produce decent melodies. The singers' voices aren't displeasing to the ear and are even used in interesting counterpoint. The track "Never Alone" is the best one on the record and it is also the only track with decent arranging and decent lyrics. It was in fact the cause that attracted my attention to the band and the reason why I purchased this fair sounding album. This record could have been worse, but it also could have been a lot better. The drummer at least holds the band together and performs nice rolls and rhythms.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very good Hard Rock CD with a Christian stance.
To be honest:The music itself on this CD reminds me A LOT of the music on the "Josie and The Pussycats" Soundtrack.Very similar music overall.

5-0 out of 5 stars A 'Top of My Lungs' review
I considered myself an avid PCD fan. First heard about them from my college roomate who had 'Turn up the Radio' and thought they sounded cool and their tunes catchy. I then picked up 'Let my words be few,' 'let your glory fall', 'let the worshippers arise', and some of their older stuff.

Editorial Review

Some Christian mainstream acts spend entire careers aiming for crossover appeal. Call Brian Littrell a little different because he is going against the grain. This Backstreet Boy has traded--for a moment at least--international glitz for a trip back home to his roots, spiritual roots that is, with Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Impressive first Christian album...
When I bought this album I had no idea who Brian Littrell was except a burgeoning Christian artist. Then, one day, while reading up on him at his Web site I found out he is a former Backstreet Boy. I read his testimony and was very impressed. I believe his music backs up his beliefs. This album is very good. My favorite songs are Welcome Home, Over My Head, and I'm Alive. Gone Without Goodbye is a good song but very sad, so I can only listen to it occasionally.
4-0 out of 5 stars The obligatory inspirational album
After somewhat of a dry spell, Backstreet Boys made a comeback last year with the album Never Gone, which tricked a lot of people into thinking they were still relevant. It wasn't a bad album, but it was easy to tell that things weren't the same: there were only two songs released from the album, there was no tour to promote it, and the guys made very few TV appearances. In addition, Brian Littrell, who was initially the lead vocalist, only sang lead on, like, two songs on the whole album.
5-0 out of 5 stars ......WOW....................
I always thought Brain was one of the best singers from his BSB days...he does an amazing job with his debut...this CD is so peacful and relaxing...he has an amazing voice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A CD that truly keeps on giving
This is my first Chris Rice CD that I have ever owned but after many of his songs have been on the radio for years I took a chance on a purchase and I am completely satisfied. This is truly a CD that keeps on giving! The words and different song styles combines with excellent vocals make it a great listen to wake up to in the morning, or fall asleep to at night. You truly feel God's presence and peace when listening to this CD, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Short Term Memories
I am not going to review each and every song on this CD... suffice to say that the CD is wonderful. If you are a Chris Rice fan , this is a must have, and if you are not yet a fan, this would be a great place to start.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good

4-0 out of 5 stars lift him up.
I think this album is not as good as hez first album. His first album is i,ll make it back in 86. thats the real hezekiah. Now dont get me wrong lift him up is hot,but 2 of the songs u people heard on his live recording at radio city 2 is from his 1st recording i,ll make it. Now hez is my no 1 gospel choir, but i really hope he brings back his sound from the old days.
1-0 out of 5 stars LIFT HIM UP! ENOUGH SAID
I List Hezekiah Walker , Donnie McClurckin and Micah Stampley as gospel vocalist with the most range and you hear how much range he has at the end of lift him up, he is almost singing soprano. This album takes awhile to get used to.There is a Mix between live songs and studio songs, different from all of the rest of Walkers' albums. My favorite song is lift him up, and im pretty much satisfied with the album because it lifts me up when i listen to it.I wasblessed to see Hezekiah Walker live and he sung lift him up, ive played in my car ever since and its hard not to shout off of it.I must say I like the live recordings better because i love live instruments .The one thing i must say is that Hezekiah Walker does not dissapoint and his music is about ministry and not about all the technical stuff that musicians and song writers worry about. Hez carries an anointing nobody else carries, he is a pastor first and a singer second, his albums are not about lyrics there about ministry and lifting up jesus.so if you are someone that cares more about lyrics than anointing you might want totry someone else whose anointing is not as powerful as Hezekiah Walker.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Buy!
First let me state that, I really loved this album. You will not regret purchasing this album.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic
I've owned this cd for over a year now and this is my absolute favorite Christian cd to listen to. I'm always searching for a fresh sound and quality music, and this one did it for me. The whole cd is awesome. Both the arrangements and vocals are excellent. This cd is nice to worship to by singing along to it or it is just as nice to layback and listen to and meditate about God.Some of my favorites are "Be Though My Vision", "Amazing Grace", "It is Well with My Soul", "By and By", "Power in the Blood" and "Just a CLoser Walk with Thee". If you are looking for something old, yet a little fresh, give this one a try.In my opinion, every song was sung, arranged, and produced with perfection.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best cd I'v e bought in a long time
Because of mp3s readily being available, I have found I no longer buy the whole cd but just my favorites. After listening to the previews, I bought the whole cd and am so glad I did A cross between updated classic hymns and soulful sound, Selah has outdone themselves on this one. Some songs I have to play again from the emotion they stir. An outstanding compilation with a tremendous sound of harmony and haunting depth of heart.

4-0 out of 5 stars The old days brought alive
I really enjoyed the CD by Selah because it brought back my days in the pews listening to the classic hymns and yet the new arrangements brought them alive. I encourage you to try this CD because there are wonderful words in the old hymns. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My goodness, best ccm album since Jesus Freak
Listen up please. I am here to tell how awesome Leeland is. I have been searching for an awesome( something that is different) CCM album to come out for years. Don't get me wrong, there has been alot of good ones in CCM, which I am not even bother to list cuz it is going take forever. But problem with most CCM is that alot of the bands sounds like rip off of secular bands and alot of them have good intentions but most of them have no idea of the word, creativity. Man, when I heard how good this album is from jesusfreakhideout, I orderedthe cd right away. Man, these guys know how to rock. Best praise and worship album album ever with hints of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, U2, and Coldplay. Yeah, just give a listen to the album previews on Amazon and you'll have a glimpse of what I am talking about. Don't miss out on the good stuff.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing album!
I saw the title video on TV and couldn't wait for the album to come out. It's a beautiful collection of songs and some of them really grab your attention.I hope they go far.

4-0 out of 5 stars A strong debut
The hype on this band has been astronimical, so when I got the CD I was a little suspicious of what I'd find. Could they be as good as everyone else said? Well, they're definitely good. "Reaching" is a great song and deserves a ton of radio air play. "Beautiful Lord" makes an incredible worship song. Most all the tracks are good, though those two in particular really stand out. Hindalong did a great job in producing, and Leeland's vocals show promise for a long future (he's a teenager and rocks harder than most adults). I look forward to what they come up with next. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars CeCe Winans- Purify Us All!
I know I just wrote a review for Kirk Franklin's Hero, but the first gospel album I bought before that was actually CeCe Winans' Purified.I had come to the point that I really needed musically something to reach my spirit as overall I'm not getting it from just our everyday played mainstream music.Especially since I'm going to church on the regular now and totally enjoy when our singers put it down, I have been looking back to listening to more gospel music.Sure, I still listen to some mainstream music with it's crazy ways at time (I'm not changed totally, but I am in the process of changing), but it turns me away from it more than it turns me on to it.Maybe it's the good Lord speaking to me.I don't know, but back to the topic at hand.I was so glad that CeCe was the first album that connected to me.I put it into my Discman one night and just loved it from the very start. It is just so calming to listen to her music, it's like anything that you go through at the point is totally lost for awhile as you listen to her lovely voice. As someone said before I wrote mine, the album is very soul-soothing!Momma's Kitchen is one of my favorites as we all can relate to the song, at least virtually most of us with those good memories of growing up and being together with family and sharing those good times and wanting to go back to that.So beautiful! You Will is just as lovely, but Pray takes the cake for me.This was the song that prompted me to buy her CD as I heard it on the Celebration of Gospel on BET.So great of a concept and I totally love the beat and feel of the song!Something we all can take from when times get rough and to just speak to God through prayer and just talking to him.All I Need and Just Like That keep the theme of great songs rolling along, all the way through I Promise (The Wedding Song) up to the last three: A Place Like This, Purified, and He's Concerned.Such a beautiful woman with a lovely voice singing some wonderful music that can take some of your pain away. This is an album to buy if you are looking to get back into gospel or just want great gospel music. Thanks, CeCe!5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow! That woman is beautiful!!!!
I love Cece's voice. She's so incredibly annointed, however I've never heard this album. Actually, I'm not even rating the album itself, but Cece's incredible beauty. I mean seriously...she's an incredibly beautiful woman. I mean like seriously, seriously hot. I seen her on TBN not to long ago and I was like...whoa! Who's is that fine sister?!?!?! I don't know who she's married to, but take it from this single white boy...brother...you are incredibly blessed of God to be married to a woman that beautiful and that talented. You should thank the Lord Jesus everyday of your life for that woman. SHE'S HOTTTTTT!!!! God bless you Cece! We love you!!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars You Can't Fail With CeCe.
For a true Christian Spirit that glows through Ms. Winans, you'll always find her music sung straight from the heart. A Precious Pearl in the Gospel community, "Purified" continues in the CeCe tradition, of lifting our souls to a higher plain. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 2006 Top 3 Albums
If this album didn't come out at its destinated time, 2006 would have been one of the worst years for gospel music.Outside of Kurt Carr's cd, this album makes singing gospel music worthwhile.Donald Lawrence knows how to send out a group and bring in a new era of singers. That's basically what this finale does, it brings into the forefront the future of the gospel music scene. We have new artists emerging in Blanche (McAlister-not sure if she is going to just do the first name like MaDonna, Cher, Mandisa, ummmmm, think about it!!!!!!!!), DeWayne Woods (thanks for the testimony and great Sunday morning rocking song - this is hint to all church musicians sing this song when church is a lil dead and pick it up), The Murrills, LaJeune Thompson (sang girl), and Sheri from the duo of Ted & Sheri. There are so many hits on the whole cd from God Is, God, You Are An Heir, Giants, Blessing from Abraham, Encourage Yourself, of course all of the older stuff. One thing missing is Kelly Price should have guested on I Walk With God or bring back Stephanie Mills.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD/DVD
I love D. Lawrence, he is an extremely talented gospel artist.
4-0 out of 5 stars You Done Good Donald!

I love Matthew 28, Giants, Encourage Yourself ( At first I thought it was Sheri, from Ted & Sheri). He difinitely went out with a bang on this one!Buy it! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars why?
why do so many people rate this so high? its very mundane, and tends to rip off other mundane music (making it more mundane). with the exception of the techno track, this is a pretty boring album, yet another album for fans of christian music to be ashamed of (if they can detect its mediocrity).

4-0 out of 5 stars Unrefined Brilliance
Mute Math is a band ready to conquer to world. Combining elements of rock, electro, industrial, jazz, and experimental, they have a sound that at first listen sounds slightly crazy. The second listen, however, was much better--I love it! Paul Meany's Sting-style vocals provide the perfect vibe to their already hopping sound. And if you haven't seen them live, do it! Watching Paul play keytar on top of his piano is a site to behold.

I actually saw these guys when they opened for Switchfoot.THey were replacing athlete due to a birth in the bands family.I guess if you like bands that are loud, musically untalented and generally obnoxious sounding then this is the band for you.I don't know how anyone can praise their lyrics you can't understand a word the singer says while singing.I really wish athlete had been there, then at least we wouldn't have left during the open set. ... Editorial Review

The WOW collections to date offer something for everyone and seldom disappoint. However, WOW Hits 2005 may have set the bar higher in terms of variety of new acts and a bountiful harvest of creativity. If we are to take the producers of the WOW collections at their word, then these Purple and Silver discs offer the year's best. Several good listens later, you'll agree that there is a bright future ahead for contemporary Christian music. Sure we have the bigger name acts of Mercy Me ("Here With Me"), Newsboys ("You Are My King"), Jars of Clay ("Show You Love"), and maybe the year's best single from Steven Curtis Chapman "All Things New." But there's plenty of new blood as well with Matthew West ("More"), Kutless ("Sea of Faces"), Building 429 ("Glory Defined"), Bethany Dillon ("All I Need"), and bonus baby Day of Fire ("Cornerstone). Praise and worshippers will be pleased with the inclusion of David Crowder ("Open Skies") and the delightful Zschech ("Pray"). While WOW Hits 2005 gathers a lot of radio hits, there's no doubt that more critical voices may clamor about various omissions. Ask a roomful of Christian music fans to put the year's 30 best on a WOW release and you'll get a roomful of answers. But all can agree that WOW Hits 2005 proclaims that the year 2004 was a good one. 5-0 out of 5 stars The best album yet from an amazing band!!
This CD is a MUST HAVE for the collection of any Christian music fan! From the opening track, "The More" to the close of the album, every song is worth multiple listens. You'll find yourself singing along with "A Better Way," an instant classic, encouraged by the message of "Little Is Much," and singing with the angels on "Unbelievable.""The Real Jesus" is a unique and refreshing look at who Jesus is compared to how the world sees Him.Down Here combines an amazing talent for writing music with a gift for penning lyrics that can touch you deep down. The blend of guitars, piano, and fantastic vocals make this album one you'll surely keep in your CD player. This CD comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...buy one for a friend, too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Down Here delivers a variety of solid Christian rock
I had never even heard of this band until I recently heard "Better Way" on the radio. After listening to the track samples, I purchased the album, and our whole family has really enjoyed this new set of songs. The music itself is good, including the piano-based themes like "Surrender".But what is really enjoyable and impressive are the vocal abilities of the two lead singers.Although you could compare individual songs to various other artists in terms of style (Petra, Queen, Moody Blues, and The Cult come to mind), it would be difficult to categorize the overall album. What you can say about it is that it is a beautiful production of music and voice, and it glorifies God while inspiring others to do the same. Thanks Down Here!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't be Wide Eyed and Mystified.Get this CD!
Despite a Dove Award nomination for Best New Artist, Christian rock band downhere has a small but loyal following.Their lyrics are wonderful, however, and they deserve a wider audience. This CD, their third, just might do it.

4-0 out of 5 stars BILLY -- NO LONGER A KID
Once again, I broke my own rule about buying CDs without having a chance to preview them first, but considering how much I have enjoyed Billy Gilman's previous albums, I decided to gamble on this one -- and won.
5-0 out of 5 stars Billy is beauty, and he is now - as well as forever.
First off, I need to thank Mr. Billy Gilman for delivering another favorite song of mine - "Let Me Remind You Again". I need to thank Mr. Billy Gilman for letting me enjoy the most wonderful music... ever. Unlike all the other young boys who started singing before their voices changed, Billy is truly a survivor. Not only has he improved himself over and over until this day, but he has also made himself a Legend in his own lifetime. Forever will I enjoy his music, and forever he will remain.
4-0 out of 5 stars Not quite as good as 'Everything and More'
I have been a great fan of Billy's music ever since 'One Voice', and I did enjoy this new CD, but in my opinion it is not as impressive as 'Everything and More', which really showcased Billy's talent across a spectrum of styles and featured many songs which were moving and had quite profound lyrics. This CD marks a return to mainstream country music style and rather more predictable (if still good) love song lyrics. I also felt that there was less variation in the tunes. So... I will continue to support Billy and buy his CDs, but I hope next there'll be a bit more depth and mix of styles again! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars That's right, some of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
I just bought this CD for myself and I love it!It would be great for students in a private school, or for Christmas, or sitting by a campfire at summer camp. These religious tunes are probably the most beautiful I have ever heard. My favorites are "He's got the Whole World" and "Michael Row the Boat."Up till today, I never even knew that the "he" of the first song mentioned in this review refers to the one-and-only God.Basically, this is an ideal CD to have in every child's house and every grade school since it teaches children to appreciate God more than anything else in the universe.Just ignore the fact that track 29 is substantially different from track 14.I must say these wonderful songs are waaaaaaaay better than some of the dull kids TV shows that came out recently.Oh, and if some of you animé fans out there like shows like "Water-spider Wonder-spider," you'll like this, too!Get it and you'll see what I mean.

5-0 out of 5 stars A cute cd for kids and GREAT value!
I bought this cd for my daughter, after looking at a LOT of kid's cd's for Sunday School/Christian songs. She really loves the songs in Sunday School and tends to sing them throughout the rest of the week, so I thought she would probably love something like this.
4-0 out of 5 stars SUNDAY SCHOOL SONGS
THESE SONGS WERE HELPFUL. SOME WERE HARD AND SOME WERE EASY. THE EASY ONES HELPED ME BEST FOR MY AGE GROUP OF CHILDREN ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Kutless IS Awesome
This Cd is GREAT, a bit softer than some of the other ones with an attitude of relaxed acceptance and hope.Every song is good, I prefer the harderstuff but this is still definately worth getting.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally one as good as their first
I thought that Kutless was getting a little lax in their songwriting skills after "Sea of Faces". This CD shows they've regained their focus on their music. A must-buy for you Kutless fans!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Christian rock
With Hearts of the Innocent, Kutless has further solidified their standing as one of the top Christian rock bands. This album features a combination of the edgy style of their first cd and the melodic rock of Sea of Faces. The result is simply excellent rock.
