I can't believe anyone could call Michael W. Smith's performance on this CD "flat".
Could Be A Lot Better
This is an album with several good songs on it.I just don't think that they were done as well as they could have been.

The Best Album In The Hirstory of Forever!!!
This album is truly amazing! I think that Plumb is great! This is the only album I own of her so I don't know what the others compare to this one, but I've heard clips of Beautiful Lumps of Coal and I have "Stranded" from CandyCoatedWaterDrops and they do NOT compare to this. And J. Alfred, I really enjoyed reading a review from a different point of view. Now to the review:

Every song skipped
I was very unhappy with the CD. Every song skipped the entire cd. It is very confusing to try to listen to the ABC song when every few letters, the song skips to a later part of the alphabet. For $4, it was not worth paying to ship it back and try again.

My 16 month old granddaughter loves this CD.She knows a few of the songs and motions to go with them.When the music is on, she stops what she is doing and just sits and listens.

i've had this album for years and i'm listening to it now writing this review. i've never watched the movie but the preacher's wife soundtrack is brilliant. whitney takes on gospel and wins--by a mile. every track in the album is good, trhey still sound great over five years later. and the good news is it only goes up from that level. every song is soulful and showcase a mature, strong whitney who has a few collaborations with the georgia mass choir and a few other artists.

Jeff Majors One Of A Kind
Sacred Chapter 6 is simply a Master Piece, with track two on this incredible project "Gods Gift" in my opinion Jeff Majors greatest song in the history of his Sacred series. This song has all the ingrediants great writing, great instrumental tracks, and like Q, Jeff has a way of getting the right singer to bring to life his compositions, in this case Kelly Price. Press(ing) On for Encouragement and Relaxation
I have enjoyed listening to Selah's Press On as they have an easy listening harmonic vocal blend with excellent choices of arrangements for new and old songs.The orchestration is beautiful.

Absolutely Great!!
I absolutely love the songs Selah has released. The words are VERY balanced with the music so you can REALLY understand them (with exception to those in the African language but that's another thing that makes them so unique and wonderful-the way they intertwine their "missionary roots".) Be sure to read the stories behind the songs inside the inserts. The songs are all so inspirational they bring tears to my eyes. Keep them coming SELAH!!

Selah comes back with even more power in their second CD, 'Press On'. The first CD, 'Be Still My Soul', was a perfect collection of hymns, reamped to fit a very soulful and expressive group of singers. 'Press On' carries the banner on with songs such as 'There Is A Fountain', 'Wonderful, Merciful Savior', and more, including some African renditions (Todd and Nicole Smith were missionary kids living in Africa) of hymns.

Be Still My Soul - by Selah
If you enjoy classic gospel music this CD is for you.I love all the songs and Selah has a unique version of each classic hymn.I believe it is one of their best CD's along with "The Hiding Place."Both makes your soul want to worship our Saviour and joyfully sing along.

I finally found the Christian music I was looking for!
I have realized since having a child that I am rather critical of the arrangements of many music CDs for kids.This CD is wonderful.All of the reviews are true.The Cedarmont Kids are singing in a "normal" manner and are easy to listen to.By normal I really mean just plain singing by kids that you can listen to for an extended period of time.This is not a jazzed up CD which is what makes it perfect for me. I really wanted a few CDs of Christian music that included songs that I heard as a child.This CD is so well produced that I feel it would be a welcome addition to any Christian parent's CD collection.I think that I may start including Cedarmont Kids CDs in my baby shower gifts since this is one item that can be used for several years.

Just great music!
This music is a blessing for my heart and my ears. I can't remember enjoying a soundtrack that much since "The Preacher's Wife" was released. Sure, "The Fighting Temptations" is musically much more up-to-date. There is some traditional gospel like Shirley Caesar's and Ann Nesby's songs and great contemporary gospel by Beyonce, Angie Stone and the others. There is also some great so-called secular stuff. In fact, there isn't a song I wouldn't enjoy. The album is really uplifting. I can't get enough of this music ;-)
This is a really good fun catchy album
especially if you saw the movie, you can visualize the song performances which were great, with Cuba's hilariously frenetic thrashing about (directing) through every performance. Its got great inspiring Gospel mixed with some good ol fashioned devils music.

I have been listening to this album now for ELEVEN years...
...and i still enjoy it just as much as i did when i first opened it.This is in my opinion Jars best album to date, it will appeal to a crowd drawn to a more melodic, acoustic, timeless type of sound.It will not appeal to people who are looking for top of the line, wicked head banging, rave dancing drum beats.This is a great album to just listen to, letting it play in the back ground while studying, working, reading, or sit down with it and really just reflect in prayer letting the savior minister to your soul.The lyrics are poetic, deep, and meaningful, i only wish Jars would go back and re-create this type of sound with a new album.

A masterpiece.This is my "trapped on a desert island" CD.
I bought this CD 11 years ago when it first came out.After more than a decade, it still sits in the #1 slot in my changer.Although "Flood" is the song from this CD which received the most airplay, I feel it is the least representative of the work as a whole.Those who bought it specifically for this particular song may have been disappointed by the rest of the CD.Some reviewers stated that they very much disliked the drum tracks on some of the selections, but they never bothered me - there is so much more to enjoy.The music on this CD has an exquisitely woven texture of acoustic melodies and intimately poignant lyrics which never cease to inspire me to honest reflection.Jars of Clay does not offer the stereotypical "praise-fest," but instead lays bare the realities of a personal search for spirituality and oneness with God.Pride and self-doubt, innocence and shame, sorrow and hope, and thankfulness for a Savior are colored through the tracks with what I can only call "powerful delicacy."The acoustics and strings are so soulfully and interestingly layered with the vocals that I can listen to a single track several times in a row and be drawn in by something different each time.I generally tire very quickly of songs and so invest in precious little music.This is the only CD I have ever owned that I could literally let play, track after track, repeatedly, for hours.The sound has not become dated and I have never grown weary of it.This is my "If you were trapped on a desert island and could only have one..." CD.
Spiritually Uplifting
I can not say enough about this album from Jars of Clay! When this album was first out a friend of mine gave it to me in the hopes that it would strengthen my faith.... And did it ever!!!! These guys have a special and unique sound and the words are both biblical and poetic..Since having heard this CD, I have bought but then have given it away two or three different times in the hopes it would be as spiritually uplifting to others as it has been for me! OMG!! This is Relient Ks best CD yet. You should buy it, even if you didn't care for their other CDs. Because....well...it ROCKS!!!

Very Pleasing To Listen To
I enjoyed just hearing the snippets, especially the first track "Now That I Have You". I like the flavor of that track, as well as the single "Shine". Its funny that I have not found this CD in any of the music stores around here. I recommend this effort to any avid lover of gospel music. As always, Salvador ministers to the soul.......

Best Dino Christmas CD to own
I own just about every Dino/Rat Pack Christmas album they have, and I think this is the best Dean one to get. The sound quality is great, it has all the songs in one place (plus alternate versions), quotes in the liner notes, and the picture on the cover and the one inside aren't too bad, either ;) .

Nostalgic masterpiece!
Whenever I think about Christmas, I inevitably began to recollect of my childhood and the fond Christmas memories that go along with it.This album, along with those by Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams takes me back to those simple days when Christmas meant family and waking mom and dad up at 5AM to see if Santa came yet.It's like the smell of chlorine at the swimming pool every summer....it's simply memory evoking..i love it!

For years, I wondered, why there was no real Holiday album by Dean Martin: The answer is that simple: Dino cut two Christmas albums, one for Capitol and one for Reprise, but each of them contained only a bunch of Christmas-related selections. Once again, Great Sound, (Good) Lyrics
My purpose in highlighting (good) lyrics is that the lyrics are NOT as good as the sound. They are occasionally quite catchy, and sometimes even worshipful, but most of the time these guys are singing in metaphores. WHY OH WHY! But I am definately impressed with the mature musical sound these guys have developed, and semi proud of their lyrics compared to complete ride the fence bands like "Switchfoot."
Loads of fun, depth, and great music on a tiny disk! Rock!
First off, I really enjoyed 'Letters to the President.'I thought it was a great debut for Hawk Nelson.There was enough fun and depth through it that I could really see them going places, and I hoped they would.

This is the first Nicole Nordeman CD that I have bought.It is very good.
No Doubt, one of the best Contemporary Christian recordings...
I have allof Nichole's albums, but her latest one "Brave", and although all of her work is always beautiful, thoughtful, haunting, and wonderfully and refreshingly very Christian, this work is undoubtedly her best.
Another milestone for Nichole
She continues to touch my soul in the deepest places.She sings what I'm thinking and praying about.Not afraid to expose her own weaknesses and insecurities about faith and God.
