LOVE THIS CD
My daughter and I listen to this CD every night before bed time.I have my favorite songs and she and I dance around and listen to the beat.I sing the songs and she's learning them (she's 2).We have a great time listening to this CD and she listens to the characters talking or singing.It's a plus for every child who loves the Sesame Street characters, including Mommies & Daddies.

I bought this C.D. when my daughter was 16 months and she loved it from the start! She's now 2 and still wants it every time we get in the car. Every song is wonderful. Of course she has her favorites; Monster Song-"Wubba, wubba" she calls it or Hands, Shoulders, Knees,... As the months have past the request have changed to Oscar's trash song or Big Bird's Ab-c-def-i. Now our entire play group has the C.D. and we all find ourselves singing along or quoting lyrics. None of the kids can get enough of it. You'll find yourself singing the tunes in the shower too. It has all the songs I remember as a child growing up in the 70's. I'm so happy to share it with her. Fun, Upbeat CD
My 10 month old son loves this CD. He doesn't really watch Sesame Street yet but he loves the Sesame Beginnings DVD's so I bought some CD's for him to listen to at home and in the car. He loves the Elmo one, he pulls himeself to stand and bops his little behind! A great CD for your baby, toddler and preschooler.

My 23 month old loves this!!
I bought this CD for my 23 month old daughter, thought it would be nice for her to listen to songs sung by her favorite character on Sesame Street.She loves this CD!!!When she gets in the car she says "Elmo", "Elmo!"The songs are cute and fun for the whole family to enjoy!!!

If only they made Elmo Sings Bob Dylan and The Beatles Tunes
My 20 month old wants to listen to this album exclusively.If we put onother CDs or tapes, even other Sesame Street music with other voicessinging, she says "Elmo.Elmo.Elmo" until that wonderful,high-pitched voice comes through the speaker.It really is quite funny tohear Elmo singing everything.I've heard this CD a few hundred too manytimes.We need a new Elmo compilation.A definite favorite of ourdaughter's and her Elmo-loving friends. ... fantastic set of cd's
while it is true that a lot of this music has already been released on other sesame street cd's, this is a wonderful collection of songs.we keep them in our car & our boys (ages 3 & 1) love to hear them over & over again.with 3 different cd's to listen to, that's a lot of music without repeats.while i don't think that some of the newer stuff with guest artists measures up to the older songs, there's enough to keep everyone happy.

Wonderful gift!
Excellent buy.I bought this item to sing to my newborn daughter and she just loves it.I grew up watching Sesame street so I knew all the songs.Her father even enjoys the compilation of songs.It is a very animated cd; you can never get bored.An excellent gift for a babyshower or a preschooler.

Great Variety of Music
The CD contains a little bit of everything, but all songs familiar to my daughter.

A Must for All Ages!!!
My 3 month old loves to listen to all types of music. I am a working mother, so when I pick him up at daycare, I have chores that need to be done when I get home.I put this CD in, and it keeps my son happy and occupied while he listens to Elmo and his friends.I play this CD over and over again! It is fantastic since most of the songs are ones I grew up with, and I know the words, so he can hear my voice singing along. I don't think it's great but my kid loves it!
Some of the accents are terrible and there is FAR more English than Spanish (the songs sung by Elmo and Rosita are a little painful to listen to!).BUT, my daughter (3) loves it.When our first copy was stolen out of our car, she asked for it so many times that I had to go out and get another one.Still, if you really want your child to be exposed to Spanish I think there are better options.

Awesome CD
I need to buy another one of these CDs because mine is worn out! I teach Spanish to preschoolers(2-5)and they love these songs. The lyrics are fun to sing and it's great for dancing. This has been the best bilingual CD for kids that I've found so far.

Excellent children's intro to Spanish
This is a standard play in our home. My kids LOVE the way the character's repeat each Spanish sentence after Luis, Bob, Maria and the Muppets.The songs are catchy and infectious. We love to listen to this one in the afternoon, and after a lively session of sing along and dancing, it's off for naptime!Buy the video too, it's fun and festive and will give your little ones a taste of Spanish culture. On the other side of sesame Street:
A brilliant CD for children, and adults alike. I got this CD, because one of the kids I babysit LOVES singing along with the sesame street videos, so I figured he would enjjoy dancing and singing along to the CD aswell. I was right! He loves singing along to all the classic sesame songs, and I love singing along too! Makes me remember my days as a little girl when I sang the same songs! Very cute. Kids of all ages will get a kick out of this CD. =)

so sentimental
I nearly cried as I listened to some of the samples of this great cd. I had forgotten some of the beautiful sesame street classic tunes like "Me" sung by Grover and "Imagination" sung by Kermit. This is a great album to give to your kids if you want them to develop a healthy self image and a good imagination. I think preschool and kindergarten teachers would do their students a favor by purchasing and playing any classic Sesame St. music. I am so grateful my parents let my siblings and I watch only positive tv shows and listen to positive music.

Platinum Too, Platinum's companion
Where would Platinum be without Platinum Too? This cd is great fun for the whole family. It is so easy to be silly when one of the Sesame Street cds is on. It is great at home, but really great in the car on long road trips. A great buy, [for any age :)] Highly recommended by "torri'smom" who once was a Sesame Street kid herself.

Very Entertaining!
My son has just become a huge Sesame Street fan, but I didn't want to constantly plop him in front of the tv to give him his "Elmo" fix, so I decided to buy him this CD.I was hoping it would help him laugh, dance, and have fun with the characters without zoning out at the screen.And it has!He loves the CD and likes dancing along...especially to Happy Tappin' With Elmo.
My kids Favorite (i like it too!)
I bought this for a car trip when all we had was a cassette player about 4 years ago.My kids love it so much that the tape is worn out and i need to buy the CD.Some Elmo cd's can get a little annoying when played over and over (Elmo's high pitched voice is a little grating at times) but this one has enough variety that it does't bother me. It's really fun to dance to!

Great for Toddlers!
I bought this for my almost 2 year old son and my 3 year old daughter.They love it!It makes them dance and move around.Some of the songs they already know from Seasame Street and Play With Me Seasame but there are also songs they haven't heard before.I like it because it has a good variety of songs and it doesn't drive me crazy to hear it again and again.It has also been great to keep them entertained and having fun in the car as well as at home. ... Whether it's the classic "'C' Is for Cookie" or "MMM Monster Meal," young kids will get a kick out of the frivolous fun while learning language set to song. Fun for all ages
We used to play the tape 10 years ago for our kids when the were younger.We came across the tape recently and played it for an adult friend.He found it extremely catchy and humorous (as we did back in the day), so we are ordering the CD so we can share the fun.

good but difficult to understand sometimes
it's hard to understand sometimes when Elmo speaks with his baby voice and the way he sings. My kids keep asking what he said.. all the time. may be need to take some time to get used to it.

My son and I love it
I bought this CD for my son's 2nd birthday.He likes it (especially Elmo) and I like it.There is a songor story for each letter, they are all different, and they are all fun.I'm not tired of hearing this yet. The tunes are catchy, but I guess they could drive you nuts when they are stuck in your head.

Awesome flashback CD!
I LOVED Bert and Ernie when I was a kid, my best friend and I always said I was Bert and she was Ernie! But this CD is fun and happy just as they were on the show. I especially loved the Patty Pat song bc it's very fast and cute for the kids. My son loves listening to these CDs and he's only 10 mos old! Great buy for your baby, toddler and preschooler (and the kid in you!)

Not the favorite cd
This has some cute songs, but is not our most requested Sesame Street cd.It can get annoying when played over and over, but the kids seem to enjoy most of the songs.

I am eighteen, and I, my thirteen-year-old brother and my seven-year-old sister all LOVE this cd.I've even caught our mom singing along!

Music for All Ages
You don't have to be five years old to enjoy this kind of music. This CD appeals to every person of any age. Kids and adults alike will get a kick out of listening to this amazing soundtrack from the equally amazing movie. Every song is perfectly appropriate, and you'll be happy to know that none of these songs are too babyish either.
I love that bird
I had this album on cassette when I was younger, my mom gave it away about 18 years ago, but I still remember all the words to all the songs. Once in a while one will come back to me and I'll start singing out loud. No one else seems to remember them! I bought the cd to prove I'm not crazy.

A CD I DON'T MIND LISTENING TO OVER & OVER & OVER
There are very fun children's CDs that won't drive you crazy, but Seame Street CDs are always enjoyable for my little one and myself.Sometimes I have even found myself humming the tunes during the day. (How embarrasing!)

Kids Favorite Songs, Vol 2
This cd is a great alternative to watching a DVD or video.My son loves Sesame Street characters but I hate having him sit in front of the tv all day.So, I put on this music and he dances and listens and plays with other toys.Not for the exclusive Elmo lover however, since it features lots of different Sesame Street characters not just Zoe and Elmo as shown on the cover.

Ahhh, the good ol days
This a fun CD, even for adults. I love kids music that isn't TOO much like kid's music such as other obnoxouis purple characters. This CD is funny and great bc the songs are based off popular songs of the 60s, 70, 80s and even 90s. (Rebel L? That's hilarious!!) My son is only 10 mos old and loves it. This is our "in the car" CD!

A nutty masterpiece
This one took some getting used to. Most of the songs are takeoff of an original famous song or genre.None follows the original music exactly and at first I found this quite disconcerting.The words were funny, but I kept expecting the original tune.I still feel this way about some."Hey Food" doesn't work because "Hey Jude" is one of the great songs of all time and it's annoying to hear an inferior takeoff."Let It Be" is less great but still better than "Letter 'B'".But some of the takeoffs are masterpieces in their own rights.Forgive me, but I almost like "Rebel 'L'" better than the original, whichI adore. And the genre parodies (Spector-ish girl groups, a generic Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley song etc ) are easier to enjoy.I'm glad I persisted. ... Read more

Did you like the original 1975 version?
If so, try this website http://www.stef.net/sesamestreetchristmas/ where you can get the original for free.This version is okay, but is missing a few of my favorite tracks, and I was happy to see that I could download the original online.Just for those who would like to know...
The original album is MUCH better!
Sesame Street records should have found themselves a good burner and copied the original 1975 release on to a CD to be manufactured. The two new songs were fair, but are no replacement for the tracks omitted from the CD from the original. For one thing, several cast members; Will Lee's Mr. Hooper, Northern Calloway's David, and several others have sadly passed on now, so I was even more saddened to discover the classical "Christmas Story" removed jump-cutting immediately to Ernie and Bert's HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS. Also David's beatnik NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS ON SESAME STREET was such a cute tune from the original. Luis and Maria's Spanish Christmas songs SALUDO and ARRURRU were also removed. Why? Probably to add Elmo and all of the new characters in to replace. For instance when Harry incorrectly praises "Wreck the Halls" as his favorite carol he is corrected by David in the original, this time Elmo corrects him. Oh the Memories

Great Sesame Xmas CD
We actually are enjoying this music as we speak!My son loves the "Rockin Around the Xmas Tree" song.I'm not a fan of the Count singing "Let it Snow" but outside of that it is a really great CD of classics that little ones are sure to love.I even catch myself walking around singing "Elmo wants a hippo for xmas".Great CD.Well worth the money.

Awesome Holiday Fun
My children, ages 3 1/2 & 2 LOVE this Christmas cd.They get very excited when they recognize the monster singing the song.It is great for singing and dancing, and is just awesome holiday fun!

Doesn't Live Up to the Hype
Elmo is probably the most creatively consistent of the Sesame Street gang, however, this particular collection was a bit of a letdown following his brilliant string of hit records.I even went several months without listening to this before a friend of mine talked me into giving it another shot.He claimed it was an underrated classic on par with the famous John Denver/Muppets collaboration.I do not find this to be so, but it is still a good release.There was a rumor in the late-80s that Elmo had converted to Judaism, but this Christmas release seems to say otherwise, unless he is simply cashing in on his celebrity and selling out his religion, in which case I would be very disappointed. ... Great catchy songs with super lyrics
These songs are, like the best of Sesame Street, funny for kids and fun for adults too.There are a variety of musical styles, from Polka ("Transylvania Polka") to Andrews-sisters Boogie ("Boogie Woogie Piggies") to Waltz ("Batty Bat").My 4 year old loves hearing "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea" sung by a harried Grover, and he also loves the bird sounds on "This Song is for the Birds" - sung with an East Coast accent.My 6 and 9 year olds still enjoy "Captain Vegetable" which is in the style of an old-time TV show about superheroes.I think my favorite is "Monster in the Mirror", which has a bass line that reminds me of the Munsters, and talks about how kids shouldn't be afraid of seeing their reflection in the mirror.
Sesame Street's "Silly Songs" Rocks!
Sesame Street's Silly Songs CD opens with Ernie and friends singing "The Honker-Duckie-Dinger Jamboree" and ends with Grover singing "Monster In The Mirror." In between, you hear "The Batty Bat," "I'm Proud To Be A Cow," "Love in the Junkyard," plus ten other entertaining songs for children of all ages. Older kids will enjoy singing along with their favorite Sesame Street characters from the television show and movies. Both my one-year old son and I have been entertained for hours listening to this CD. He loves the funny sounds. "Oh, Look What Our Baby Can Do" has many realistic baby noises, mostly centered on the process of expelling gas from either end of the baby. I like the catchy tunes and educational messages. "The Boogie-Woogie Piggies" teaches kids their ABCs to a swinging boogie-woogie beat. In addition, "Captain Vegetable" encourages kids to eat their veggies, and "Keep The Park Clean For The Pigeons" teaches kids to use trashcans, or even their pockets, to discard trash. This CD is a ton of fun and comes highly recommended by our family.

An encouraging sign for Sesame Street collectors
Leaving aside the music on this album for one moment, let me first thank the good folks at Sony Wonder and Children's Television Workshop for finally getting it (almost) right with the Sesame Street Records reissue program. For years, Sesame Street collectors have waited in vain for straight CD reissues of the original records; this is about as close as we've come, and surprisingly so. The reason for my surprise is that HAPPY BIRTHDAY features Northern "David" Calloway on a pair of tracks (the album's two best, incidentally), and Sony Wonder has had a policy of removing cast members who have departed (literally, in the case of Calloway, who died in 1990), replacing them with inferior re-recordings of the vocals (by minor characters such as Hoots the Owl or major pains like Elmo and Zoe) over the original backing tracks. (For a well-considered editorial describing the problems with the Sesame Street reissue program, Amazon/Borders.com customers should check out the review by Michael J. Chrush of the horribly botched MERRY CHRISTMAS "reissue," though to call it that is stretching the term considerably.)
