Editorial Review

"Gotta catch 'em all," shouts teen-popper (and 1999's Buckner & Garcia) Billy Crawford on this kid-phenom soundtrack. Engineered to capture not only preteen fans of the Japanese anime craze, but Top 40 listeners who might fall for singles such as girl group M2M's peppy "Don't Say You Love Me," it's loaded with familiar zillion-selling names such as Britney Spears, 'N Sync, Christina Aguilera, and 98 Degrees. A mixture of light dance-pop, innocuous romantic ballads, and "Eye of the Tiger" drama keeps things moving. G-rated through and through, the disc's nonstop chirpiness might eventually wear on parents' ears even as they acknowledge the catchy hooks. The younger set will love it without qualification. 5-0 out of 5 stars The most amazing thing I have for any category ever.
This is a Pokemon CD(duh).Like the other Pokemon CDs,it has pop music. As it might make your ears bleed if you don't like pop music, and but few songs are actully about Pokemon, this is outstandingly awesome to me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Although some of the songs may not be as heavily-based around Pokmon itself as they are in the 2.B. A Master CD, the songs on this CD are still pretty catchy to any Pokmon trainers out there. The CD also comes with an awesome poster for the first movie; a must have for any Pokmon master.

5-0 out of 5 stars these cd
is (in my opinion) one of the best pop cds of the 90s

Editorial Review

While the inclusion of novelty songster Weird Al Yankovic (here with "Polkamon") and new-waver all-stars the B-52's (here with the playful "The Chosen One") sharpens the proceedings with their individual visions, most of the performers here have been coached by producer David Foster or other music industry veterans. Most successful is former disco diva Donna Summer, who emerges with the dramatic tune "The Power of One," which sneakily includes the Pokémon theme featured throughout the film. Twelve-year-old Alysha may be a burgeoning teen star with her surprisingly mature interpretation of "Dreams." The emphasis is on the current teen-pop trend. Editorial Review

Pokémon fever continues to burn hot, as evidenced by this catching symptom: a high-octane pop soundtrack for the animated television series. Dream teen group Johto borrow from the elements that make Backstreet Boys, Britney, Christina, and 'N Sync sensationally popular, repackaging their sound Pokémon-style for young audiences. If you love Pokmon, this CD is for you.It may be cheesy stuff, but I just bought this CD and I love it.(I'm 19 years old).A must have for Pokmaniacs!

5-0 out of 5 stars It really deserverse 5 stars. Really?
This CD goes up with the rest of those pop songs out there. It's great! Kids can listen to it and there parents don't have to have a worry about anything bad happening at all. Even teens can enjoy it. My older sister who is 15 loves All We Wanna Do. I love pop songs! This is definatly one CD that pokemon worked hard on.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love It!
This is a great CD! I really love it and hope you will too, as this CD was made for Pokemon Nuts like me!

2-0 out of 5 stars Make it stop!
How can this cd possibly get so many good reviews? How?It hurts your ears and possibly could give you serious brain damage if you listen to it for too long, ie, 5 or 6 minutes. If you like anime music, get the Laputa/Castle in the Sky soundtrack or anything! Laputa is a work of art and is so soothing. The score is breath- taking. After you think about it, "Pokemon Christmas carols" is pretty funny. lol.Laputa is really worth the money, and you can get it new from a third-party seller for 15$.Pretty good deal.
4-0 out of 5 stars Happy Pokemon Christmas!
You have GOT to get this CD. I love it! But, if you don't watch the show, you'll probably hate it. So, this CD is definately only for people who watch the show - either that or REALLY little kids. And obviously, don't buy it if you don't celebrate Christmas. Oh, and you can tell that Rachel Lillis was really nervous when they were making this CD, as she jumps into her parts a bit fast and also in "Winter Is The Coolest Time Of Year", she was supposed to be doing the voice of Misty, when she slips into Jessie. I kinda feel sorry for her. Anyway, she still did a great job singing, especially in "I'll Keep My Home In My Heart".

My son, who just turned 11, loves this CD, except the "mushy" parts.(but what do you expect). Was a soundtrack for his birthday party.

This is a pretty good album. I got it when I was only 13 and now years later I can still enjoy it. Sure, it's a re-release of Totally Pokmon, but at the time I couldn't find it and I found that the tracks were on this soundtrack. Basically this is Totally Pokmon V. 1.2, and if you don't already have Totally Pokmon this is definitley worth it.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best since the second movie soundtrack...
This CD gives what you want, and more. It comes with all of the main themes of the movie, (Mewtwo's theme becomes even more evident when you don't have to look and listen to characters) and even some music which you can't hear due to voices and sound effects.
5-0 out of 5 stars So beutiful that words can't discribe it.
I have this Cd and it's hard to belive that this wonderful music didn't win any awards. Whats wrong with them just because it was made by the people from pokemon doesn't mean they don't work. It's like a priceless gem. If your a music fan or a pokemon fan or anyone I recomend this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pocket Monsters Otaku, Rejoice!!!
First and foremost, don't think it's "lame" just because it's "Pokemon." This is the Japanese version, and I treat it much differently than I do the dub. DON'T LET OTHERS FOOL YOU. There WERE changes to the English version. As for myself, I feel that the music [of the Japanese version] is very good. I just never get tired of listening to the songs on this cd! If you are Pocket Monsters fan, or even an open-minded Pokemon fan, get this cd.

4-0 out of 5 stars Just Because It's Pokemon Doesn't Mean It's Bad...
There are two entries for this album from two different manufacturers. One is a bootleg (I believe). This one is the real thing (I also believe). So I'm going to use the same review I used over on the other one. The review follows...5-0 out of 5 stars 11 Promos including Mew? Ummmmm...... YES PLEASE!
I have to admit, when I first ordered this item all I cared about was the promos. But, when I slaped the CD in my CD player I was amazed and surprised! It actually sounded pretty cool? I'm the webmaster of theCyber gym and I think that if your into Pokmon as much as I am, this CD isa MUST! The mew promo alone can run up to $60-$100! 5-0 out of 5 stars The Rivals!
This is a great CD and my favorite one I own. It has 5 tracks on it but only four songs, which is kinda a downfall but it's worth every penny!5-0 out of 5 stars I CHOOSE THE RIVALS!!!!!
Well actually this pokemon cd is one of my favorites. *eek can't decide really, because I love em all ya know!* >_< But it's totally awesome and unique too! I ordered it from amazon a few months ago, and was soo surprised, when I got it. Waa I don't remember ever seeing another one like it, it's 3 inches! Oh how kawaii! ^_^ The cd cover looks like one of those vacation brochures, and the artwork is super great! Well ok, now for the songs: Rivals is super kewl, and has a nice beat and is the Orange Island battle theme, sung by Rica Matsumoto a.k.a Satoshi. Bonus: You could hear some of the pokemon like Charizard, Pikachu as they're battling. "Awesome"! The next is in English, Type Wild, and I have to admit it's one of my favorites, it's about Satoshi's (Ash) sneakers, and his journeys, and days in Masura (Pallet) town. Really cute and addictive too! "Watch it, the beat is just real fast, happy and hyper"! "hey just like Satoshi!" :P I listen to this song soo many times, *gaa* I can't keep up anymore! O.o The last part of the song, is sweet and is sure to inspire you! Then there's Pokemon sandwich, which is sweet, and fun. And finally Hey Pikachu, which is cute and funny, with nyasu a.k.a Meowth. Nyasu is singing about cute lil Pikachu, Pika replies and Nyasu is just singing about how great he is or whatever, *do I sense a little jealousy maybe?* hee I may not understand Japanese real good, but what the heck, this cd rules! Oh when I opened the cd, guess what I found: A cute lil yellow ruler of pokemon with stencils! So if you also crave free stuff *like I do* ^_' hey what are you waiting for fellow poke freaks go buy it already!!! ^_^

5-0 out of 5 stars Myuutsu owns all, hehe
As is typical *sigh* the Japanese stuff is way better than it's American replacements. The music on the cd is great, and seems to work better to me. The booklet thing is really cool, as it has lots of neat art in it, and the drama is excellent (being a huge Mew/Mewtwo fan, I'm a little biased), and it was awesome how it expanded even more on Mewtwo's backstory.
5-0 out of 5 stars Myuutsuu no Tanjo... what I think...
This CD is so worth anything you go through to get it (cash, waiting time, etc) What should be known is there are a few surprises in store for the buyer. Not bad surprises though, they're really good.
5-0 out of 5 stars Myustuu no tanjo- Its worth the wait!
It took me about 2 years or so before i actually could get the real thing but once I did close to a year ago now I was so happy! The Japanese version of the world of Pocket Monsters is very different than what you would expect to see in america and this cd shows it.The Birth of mewtwo (Myustuu No Tanjo) contains one book and 2 cds in one case. The first cd contains 5 chapters to it.It starts from before Mewtwo was even discovered and a bit of a preview of how he came to be.It starts off with Sakaki (Giovanni) narrarating about the discovery of pokemon and eventually it gets to telling the story about the team rocket founder Madam Boss ( Sakaki/Giovanni's mother) talking to her top Team Rocket agent Miyamoto (Jessie/Musashi's mother)who tells madam boss aobut her new discovery, the legendary phantom pokemon mew!Madam boss learns what Miya tells her about mew and Miyamoto is sent to the Andes mountians in South America to chase after mew.Once Miya finds mew she tells it about how she left her daughter to capture it and asks if she can but mew flies away and leaves Miyamoto to be crushed by an avalanche.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Pokemon Soundtrack Ever
Well ever since the Pokemon fame had hit the west there was one thing missing in North America and that was a good Pokemon soundtrack to back up its raging popularity. Its pretty sad that this cd wasent avaliable here when it first came out. This cd has around 42 tracks I belive it has all the background music from the tv show such as gym battle music , victory badge , butterfrees goodbye , team rockets motto . Those are to name a few if you like watching the tv show and like the music played in the background in various scenes then this cd is for you. This cd is suitable for all ages it is worth the money....

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good-- wish there were more like this
I've proudly owned this cd for over a year, yet still I listen to it as if I'd just received it.I wish subsequent Pokemon BGM cd's were released for later seasons. As far as the music in the Spero scene not being included, it is, technically.Remember this is a Japanese Import soundtrack. It does not contain the American BGM that is inserted into the show at times.Having imported episode 1 from Japan, I've learned the music THEY use for that scene is Track 22-- the Main Battle Theme.Hope this helps.

5-0 out of 5 stars American Pokemon anime fans behold!!!
This is one of those hidden gems of the Pokemon universe. I've been a fan of the dubbed anime ever since it started, and I was surprised that they never released a "score" soundtrack with the background music. Eventually, I noticed this Japanese CD, bought it immediately, and I couldn't be more happy with it! The first track is the Japanese anime opening song, which is actually pretty good, and the rest of the tracks are the background music from the anime just as they were used.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow...
This soundtrack is really different from most Pokemon soundtracks, as it's sung by the most modern, best singers! Here's some opinions from me:4-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad - a few songs are good.:)
After owning 2 B A Master, and being literally blown away by Mew vs. Mewtwo, I figured I'd check out the soundtrack. I was hoping that they'd have the actual score from the movie in there - but oh well - some of the songs are just gorgeous. My personal favorites are The Main Theme, Lullabye, and Brother My Brother.Vacation is okay, I've just listened to it so many times. The only thing I don't get - is why is there a love song on there? There was no romance involved in the movie - even with Ash and Misty. Brother My Brother is just beautiful, while Lullabye is cute and a fun-type of song, and the Main Theme is awesome - who'd have thought of making it a techno thing? (and of course, being a fan of techno makes it even more awesome.) The only thing I didn't like was having NSync and Britany Spears on there. They easily could have replaced them with some of the scores from the movie. *sigh* oh well, guess I'll have to just get the score soundtrack. :) But all in all, I really love this album , (even if it is just for 4 songs,) and would reccommend it to anyone who likes uplifting music. :)

3-0 out of 5 stars Ah, so this is what a single is.
Luckily this CD's price isn't as high as a normal CD's.1-0 out of 5 stars this blows
I relly hated this CD. THREE SONGS. Release some more with it please. Thank YOU

4-0 out of 5 stars What in the Poke' World?
This CD is aucutally one of the best anime CDs out there. The first track, Poke'mon World, includes the full song with exclusive lyrics. Although a good song, most of the words end in the first 1:30 and the song is 3:18.The second track, Pikachu's Winter Vacation, is very catchy, but very short. Rip off? No, although the only thing Poke'mon about this song is in the chorus when they say, "Pikachu's Vaction" twice. The third track, insrumental version of Winter Vacation, is very good, adding a saxaphone solo in there instead of lyrics which aucutally enhances the enjoyment. There's also the Enchanced CD stuff which includes the music video of Poke'mon World(the same one off of the Orange Island episodes), a cool screensaver(lots of movement and cool pics), and 4 backgrounds(2 are the same except with a different background, one with Pikachu, and the other the title with Charmander's evolutions). All in all, this CD is pretty cool... if you like Poke'mon(or cheap CDs)! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Bootleg.
I'm pretty sure this cd is unofficial. I got a copy a while back and it is not that great. You can tell it is not an official copy because they used the wrong logo, and there are no mentions of WB or Nintendo's officially licensed product seal anywhere on it. The quality of the songs are also very low. One of the singers pronounces Pokemon "Pokeman," and the other sounds like he is singing into a jar. The instruments are simplified a bit, and the whole thing is lacking. It is definetly not as good as the real song.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice to see this has been released.
This single is a lifesaver. Finally, they have decided to release a Pokmon single. Now all we need is the Pokerap. ^_^

3-0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing... a few great tracks
Pokemon Genki Ippai, My personal Track Description and Rating
5-0 out of 5 stars Finally! Another Pokemon BGM Collection!!!
Overall this includes music from the Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto anime seasons. Plus there are music that were taken out from the US Hoenn dub, that only existed in the Japanese version of the anime. Anyone who likes the BGM from the Pokemon series, would be excited about this release. It has 32 tracks total, which also includes a few vocal songs, but the majority are background music from the anime. This features several never before released TV bgm pieces. Although not all of them that existed in the series are included, among some of them that are included are one of the Ruby/Sapphire battle themes, and Johto battle theme, plus more. Hopefully there will be another TV BGM release, so they can come out with the rest. There are too many Pocket Monsters CDs with songs on them. Let's hope that by purchasing this item, it will show them how much we like the tv bgm. Just got it, and it's awesome. It's about time we got another CD like this. If you really enjoyed the music from the anime and like remixed versions from the games, this is a must have. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I could not believe my ears, really!!
I own several Japanese Pokemon CDs, and this one is my most favorite one. Why? It is all Team Rocket! And as a big Team Rocket fan, this CD was the first one I wanted to own. And I really don't regret buying it. I had read many praises on this CD before I bought it but still I was surprised when I opened this neat package. It contains CD-shaped hardcover story book with lots of Team Rocket pictures with comments in hiragana, katakana (Japanese alphabets) and kanji (Chinese characters) on 48 full-color pages. You can follow the story on the CD much easier when looking into this cute book, but I highly recommend to read translation of this drama into English before you'll listen to it... It helped me a lot to understand what was going on at all. The next thing you find in this package are two booklets with sketches of Musashi and Kojiro. Neat! It is great if you want to learn how to draw them. And the last thing and the reason why you wanted to buy it - great CD with 7 tracks. 4 of 4 songs on this CD are in my Pokemon songs top ten list. They are so cool! 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!
This CD is a must-have for any Team Rocket fan! The CD Drama is really cool, you should find a translation when you listen to it though so you know what is going on. This CD also features the songs Lucky Lucky, Umi, Through Eternity(Pokmon Elite Four Theme), and Rocketto Dan Yo Eian Ni, Team Rocket's official theme song! The book is cool too, get it now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Something dubbers could never mess up
This is great. Although it's confusing unless you know Japanese, there's a book with pictures, that I understood. The CD drama had sound effects aswell to guide you through it.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Could be better
If you want an expensive CD with only three songs and a whole bunch of useless computer screensavers and wallpapers, then this is for you. I paid [more] for mine and was very disappointed. I reccomend you buy either 2BA Master or Totally Pokmon if you want a good Pokmon CD!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE best American single from Pokemon
This single is possibly the only true Pokemon single released anywhere in America. Whilst, yes, there is the M2M single from Pokemon The First Movie (which had a rare Pokemon non-album instrumental 'classical movie score mega-mix' for a b-side, entitled "Mewtwo Strikes Back Suite"), the Donna Summers single from Pokemon The Movie 2000 (which also had an instrumental Pokemon b-side, however this time actually being taken from the PKM2000 sountrack, "Dance Of The Bellosom" if I remember correctly), and that apparently unofficial "Theme Song" CD-Single (which by the way does NOT include the actual original first theme song, but rather a dance mix cover), this is the ONLY true Pokemon single, having been available in US and here in Canada for some time now (also available in different languages in different countries, especially definitely including Germany), since it is not sung by some old artist nor is it a non-Pokemon song from a Pokemon CD, if you know what I mean.5-0 out of 5 stars awsome cd
This is a great cd. I love it. I am so happy that I got this cd for my birthday. This cd is so cool you have to get this cd. ... Read more
