3-0 out of 5 stars not very satisfied
I got Vol 1 and Vol 2. But my daughter doesn't like them. She prefers children singing. So it is not a successful purchase for us. I also agree with some other customers that one person singing all the songs is a little boring.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good songs
Songs are great. it's a little slow for my kids. They loves the the beats. But they still love to listen to this CD.

2-0 out of 5 stars BE ADVISED!!
These ARE NOT the original Cheetah Girls! Unfortunately, you won't realize this until AFTER you have purchased the cd. This bit of information is inside the cd case. I don't believe that my daughter is aware of this ruse because the girls on the cd sound pretty close to Raven and the others. BUT...if you want to hear the original singers, do not buy this cd.

Now my 10-year-old can be one of the Cheetah Girls. This is a great quality CDG for fans of the Cheetah Girls movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!!
This is a wonderful book and cd.The music is my 3 1/2 year old daughter's favorite of all her children's cds.She has been dancing to it now for almost 1 1/2 years and consistently asks to listen to it.An added bonus was that my wife is Japanese and new the lyrics to "Donguri" and sings along with my daughter. The truth is, I like it as well.It is not only a great children's cd but a great folk album. This and Garcia/Grisman's "Not for Kids Only" are my two favorite albums that my daughter also likes.Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It
This is a cd for everyone!!! Lisa Loeb rocks! My son is two and loves it! He will dance around the living room hours.

Editorial Review

Laurie Berkner serves up a heaping helping of whacked-out, slaphappy lyrics and get-you-moving acoustic guitar licks. The littlest listeners (Berkner's fan base barely skims the surface of the six-and-up crowd) will want to slip on their dancing shoes for such originals as the opening track, "We Are the Dinosaurs," on which a pack of prehistorics prance around, stopping only to eat their food when they're in the mood and take a rest over in their nest. The blues-soaked "I Know a Chicken" teeters on frenzied, shaky eggs and an over-the-top tempo, and the sweet, musically simple "123" tickles sentimental sides with its "koochie-koochie coo / I love you" refrain. Besides her surefootedness with her own songs, Berkner also nails a number of traditional tunes here, most notably "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain," "ABCD Medley," on which she artfully melds the ABC song with "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," and "Wimoweh (The Lion Sleeps Tonight)," a gloriously kiddified rendition of the already infectious original. Overall, this record reflects Berkner's knack for stacking on the fun. Best of all, because of its standout instrumentation, parents are apt to groove along ungrudgingly, thereby setting the stage for a squabble-free shared musical experience. Whaddaya think of that?Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great children's cd.
I bought this for my almost 2 year old daughter to listen to in the car. She loves the "elephant" song and enjoys the entire cd. Saturday we brought my 5 year old niece with us. She loved the cd and sang along with most of it. The best part is I don't mind, even kind of enjoy, listening to it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Children's and Adult CD
This is a wonderful CD and one that you yourself find singing to.We love most of the songs and my children are learning all the words to the catchy little tunes.Would highly recommend it.It also helps that we have taken a music class that used a lot of the songs, therefore they are familiar to us. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Part of the Sea!
When I was a very little girl, my parents told me the story about a little mermaid that written by Anderson. This was one of the most wonderful stories that I couldn't forget. Several years later, I watched the movie "The Little Mermaid" of Disney. I was deeply attracted by it. And what attracted me most was the music in it. Then my parents bought this soundtrack CD for me as my 14th birthday gift.
5-0 out of 5 stars I loved this movie!
I loved The Little Mermaid!Total family entertainment. The music is awesome and clever- great voices wonderful to watch.
5-0 out of 5 stars Works with iPod
To all those who might hesitate to buy this wonderful CD, of one of the greatest Disney movies ever, because of a review here on Amazon that the CD could not be downloaded to the iPod. This is NOT true. I got my CD yesterday and downloaded it directly onto my iPod without any problems. Now I can hear the gorgeous music of "The little Mermaid" wherever I want!!! Don't hesitate to buy this CD, the songs are great and a must for every fan of Disney movies and this in particular. I, also had been concerned about buying this CD, becuse this review said it would not work with the iPod. But I did buy it then and it DOES work !!!! ... Read more

Best of SchoolHouse Rock! Audio CD: Original titles from orignial recordings. Also recommended for those car rides where you can sing along with your kids. My oldest has not been exposed for a week yet, but already can sing several in parts. Rating: 4.5/5
5-0 out of 5 stars Schoolhouse Rock STILL Rocks!
I loved it as a kid, and now my kids love it -- they're going into 2nd grade and kindergarten soon, so neither has any real understanding of government, grammar, etc., but they sing along with most of the songs, and I think when they start to learn these things in school, the songs will make it easier for them. They're fun, they're catchy -- sure there are a few favorites that aren't there, but almost all the other ones will keep you humming through your day :)

Editorial Review

The appeal of this album isn't limited to children--though the gentle repertoire and soft acoustic musical accompaniment will surely soothe little ones at the end of a long day, adults will find the silky-smooth vocals, beautiful harmonies, and creative production just as engaging. Parents will enjoy listening to the metamorphosis of Loggins's 1969 Top 40 hit "House on Pooh Corner" to the updated '90s version. And with titles like the traditional "All the Pretty Little Ponies" and "To-Ra-Loo-Ra" and covers of Paul Williams's "Rainbow Connection," Jimmy Webb's "The Last Unicorn," and John Lennon's "Love," Mom might find herself borrowing this CD from the nursery when it comes time to kick back and relax after the kids are asleep. This cd is so realxing and delightful!I have listened to it for years and it always gives me a great feeling.I listen to it at the destist's office, on airplanes, and I even had it playing as I gave birth to my daughter.Loggins has a beautiful voice and the arrangements are the best.Get this cd if you have a child or ever were a child...that pretty much covers everyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars We LOVE this CD!
This CD is absolutely fabulous! It was given to us as a gift for my first son... and its now a standard baby present for us to share with others. The music is soft, the songs are a mix of the familiar (Like Rainbow Connection and Too La Roo La Roo La) and the new. Its also not condescending- we didn't go crazy listening to it every night, and the baby found it comforting. Now our second boy is loving it, too! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent album for the whole family
Our family loves this album. It isn't just a series of quiet soft kiddy songs, but some that rock and some that are quiet. We can sing along with all of them. Our kids (2 to 9 years) like this album a great deal. It is a bit quirky, as might be expected from TMBG, but that adds to the variety of the music.

4-0 out of 5 stars My kids love it, and yours will, too
I have been "making" my kids listen to the music of TMBG for years, but I no longer have to "make" them listen. My 6 and 7-year-olds actually "want" to listen to songs like "No!," "Clap Your Hands," and "Four of Two."Although this is not TMBG's best CD (some say it is "Flood"), this is my kid's favorite TMBG's CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely perfect!
I teach a class of awesome pre-schoolers ages 2 and 3.I often get kids' music to play for them. This CD is by far the class's favorite. They love it!And I do too!It has appeal for kids and adults. These guys are so talented and in touch with their inner child. There are so many singer-songwriters who didn't make it who put out kids' music, thinking that a kids' audience will be easy: but they're wrong.Kids know what they like and they really like this album. It is a real stand out in an oversaturated market.Bravo and thank you! ... Editorial Review

From the reggae-tinged title track to the light blues of "Drive My Car" to the irresistible tease of "I'm Gonna Catch You" and at all stops in between, the 20 tracks on Laurie Berkner's fourth record for kids dance off the disc and into the imagination, with a Goldilocks just-right ratio of silly ("Do the Dragon") and serious ("I'm Me and You're You"). Driving home her reputation as an Ani DiFranco for kids is the earthy "Running Down the Hill." "Shortnin' Bread," the Southern traditional, will compel kids to tie on aprons and tap their way across the kitchen floor. The Hawaiian thank-you number "Mahalo" and the Eastern "Boody Boody Ya Ya Ya" draw upon world music, but otherwise, Berkner's days of shaking her noodle head (a favorite dance ditty off an earlier disc) to the delight of 2-year-olds seem numbered. 5-0 out of 5 stars What a Relief!
Thank goodness for the Laurie Berkner Band!I just couldn't take the kiddie-songs any longer, and my personal music collection had to be reviewed before I put it in the player. With this CD, driving is a breeze. Not to mention the lyrics are creative, fun, uplifting and this is a great help for my 19 month-old to practice his words. The lyrics are clear and easy to memorize.Thank you!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Great Music for Everyone
I am so happy to have discovered Laurie Berkner! This is made for kids but--it is SMART, SOPHISTICATED, QUALITY kid's music. My daughter and I love this mostly up-beating easy listening CD.The songs are very well written and performed.Berkner's positive and well-adjusted attitude really shines through in her lyrics. This is a delightful collection of songs that both child and parent can enjoy together. It just feels good!

For parents, listening to Dan Zanes provides not only instant Raffi relief, but also the warm sense of belonging to the right crowd. On each disc he trots out a posse of cool friends like Sheryl Crow, Suzanne Vega, and Lou Reed and he delivers his openhearted lyrics with the rare roots-rocker's gift for stirring grace into grit. We love Dan Zanes in this house.Partly because we love roots music, partly because it is very listenable for everyone, Mom and Dad included.Like other DZ choices, this is chock full of guest apperances. If you're a fan of the videos from Noggin and the Disney Channel this is the CD to start with."Catch that Train" is also great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Is this somthing that I would listen to everyday? No.
.....But It's genius is in the fact that this can be played in a children's room to help them sleep as it is quite soothing and infantile in typical lullaby fashion. but best of all you can stay in the room with your child and not have the urge to blow your brains out to a crappy predictable lullaby from the 'Play-school company over and over and over again. I can listen to this and enjoy it many time's. Get it if you are also ready to choke the stuffing out of mickey and Disney Babies: Lullaby and the such. I have also noticed that there are lullaby versions of Nirvana and Coldplay which I will also be getting. now if they will just release that Motörhead lullaby I'll be set!

5-0 out of 5 stars ...This is the coolest thing ever.
So, I'm obviously not an infant, but I have to say- I LOVE THIS CD. It's complete genius. I love Radiohead, and these lullaby renditions of their songs are very soothing and sweet-sounding. I like falling asleep listening to music, and this CD definitely does the trick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enough songs so as not to completely drive a parent crazy
My nearly 3-year-old son did not appreciate this CD until he was about 2 1/2. Before that, I could listen to whatever I wanted. But now, it seems to ground my son, and reassure him. He asks for his music, and will not get out of the car until a song is over. The songs, often accompanied by children, are actually fun to listen to, and fun to be, well, fun with. My 1-year-old daughter remains unphased by anything except classical music.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best for road trips with kids!
This is a really fun collection for kids and parents who loved the muppet show or muppet movie. If you have a long car trip ahead of you it's a nice way to keep kids happy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Passing fun memories on to kids
I just loved the Muppet Show when it came out in the '70s, and my twin girls seem to really respond to the music today. It is fun and silly and enjoyable to listen to.

Editorial Review

Baby may not love jazz just yet, but boy is (s)he about to: This disc, the first in a series cooked up for Verve by Andy Blackman Hurwitz--who just happens to be the guy behind those nationwide "Baby Loves Disco" parties that allowed parents to shake their groove things in the name of musical education--amounts to a musical motherlode for the roots- and rock-dominated kids' category. It's not just the artists these 17 thoroughly considered tracks trot out (though with Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Steven Bernstein of Sex Mob, and John Medeski of Medeski, Martin and Wood on board, droppable names abound), it's the attitude. Jazz may be known for its cool cats and smoky sophistication, but here it's pure, fizzy fun. And with depth. "Old MacDonald" becomes a bandleader--one who can bring it--ticking off his players; "Banana Boat Song" sails off somewhere both adults and kids will want to go; and "The Wheels on the Bus" do some funky maneuvering here. Stops in between to highlight individual instruments are smart enough to seem straight out of "Sesame Street," which is to say they're masterful. So is the rest of this disc, down to the red-hot closing sax riff. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're a jazz fan and a parent, why don't you have this album?
Everyone has a friend who has a collection. Maybe she collects ceramic cows or Tupperware or Elvis dolls. This fascination borders on fanaticism and it's ever so costly, but it makes finding gifts for your friend very simple.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great music for baby AND mom
I bought this CD with a gift card, because I wanted some soothing music for my daughter's naptime. In looking at the titles of the pieces, I didn't recognize very many, but in listening to the CD I found that I recognize much of the music.I was pleased at how calming it was and found myself humming various pieces throughout the day.
5-0 out of 5 stars Baby Mozart - Music CD
I love all of the Baby Einstein DVD's, so the music CD has been just as good as the DVD's.I play it all the time when my son is in the car and it seems to calm him and keep his attention.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite CD!
I received this wonderful CD as a shower gift and began playing it for my son while I was still pregnant, placing the earphones around my abdomen. We would listen to it twice a day, along with some other CDs, up until the day he was born. After he was born, I didn't play the CD for two weeks, but when I finally did, after the first few notes, he immediately stopped what he was doing and with wide eyes turned his head toward the sound. He was completely quiet and focused for much of the CD! I would not recommend it for "sleepy time" if your child is easily startled awake as the intro is a bit robust (as are a few of the other pieces). As often as we have listened to this CD, I never grow tired of it, and, it seems, neither does he! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Radio Disney: Move It
Some of my kids favorite dance songs, old & new, put together on one CD done in Disney style.

4-0 out of 5 stars MOST played CD in my daughter's collection
This CD goes everywhere. We play it at home, in the car and my daughter takes it to daycare as well. I originally bought this CD for my daughter, who loves the Cha Cha Slide song from Disney Radio, but she loves ALL of the songs. She especially likes to hear "We Will Rock You" a few times over.Be prepared though... if you can't hack listening to the "Macarena" or "Who Let the Dogs Out" replaying in your head... MOVE IT and keep searching!
