5-0 out of 5 stars Aladdin Soundtrack- Really DOES take you to a whole new world!
ONE OF THE BEST CDs, BY FAR! I've been buying many of the major disney soundtracks, -the Lion King, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast- and then I came across Aladdin. This is definantly one the top with them all! I never get tired of this soundtrack. Some very amusing dialogue and songs, Robbie Williams does a great job, especially in soundtrack 8, Prince Ali! You'll be singing it all day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful soundtrack!
This soundtrack, a joy to the ear when watching the movie, is just as wonderful to hear on cd.It's fun revisit favorite songs from the film like "Prince Ali," "a Friend Like Me," or "A Whole New World." Then too it's grand to hear the instrumental score to the film on disc.My daughter and I play the cd in the car and it makes our drives so dramatic!I like that she enjoys the more classical music at age 3 in addition to the vocal/character parts she recognizes from the movie. For me as a parent, it's delightful that some of the Disney films like Aladdin have music and characters adults can truly enjoy. A gem - clevel lyrics, beautiful music, fun to listen to and sing along to!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
The music is awesome and clever- great voices.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Captivating
Bookended by one of the best modern era Disney songs, "Strangers Like Me" and the timeless "When You Wish Upon A Star," this collection from Disney is definitely worth the money. It includes some of the best songs that you and your children have ever heard.Whether or not you've seen all of the films represented here, it's a good bet that you will recognize most of these songs.
5-0 out of 5 stars TheAudible Heart and Soul of Disney
This, as well as volume 2 and 3, is the finest collection of songs ever assembled by any movie company in the world. They have a timeless quality to them that makes them just as enjoyable now as they were so many years ago. They remind me of my childhood, and they help me relax after a long, hard day of work. hey lets face it, second instalments are difficult whether it's movies, tv show spin offs, or aparently even cd collections. well, sadly was the case for disney's greatest volume 2. even though this is an increadable cd that anyone who bought the original should own, it just doesn't seem as great or epic as the first.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Carl Stalling Project
Music from Warner Brothers cartoons "Golden Years" (1936-1958).
5-0 out of 5 stars Warner Brother's King of Music
Even if you do not recognize his name, Carl Stalling is a very familiar composer. He wrote the soundtrack for many of our young lives as the composer for Warner Bros.' "Merrie Melodies" and "Looney Tunes" cartoons from late 1930's to late 1970's. Hal Willner has compiled this CD that for the first time lets you hear the music on its own, and lets you realize just how much of the cartoons' impact came from Stalling's music. 5-0 out of 5 stars one of the best avant-garde albums I've heard.
To truly appreciate this music, remember that it follows the action of the cartoons. Musically, it has no conventional sense of rhythm, time, or progression. Very quirky, fun, and enlightening. Essential stuff. ... Read more

Editorial Review

There have been at least two generations who were first introduced to ghosts, haunted houses, and mysteries from Scooby-Doo and his pals--Shaggy (the goofy stoner), Freddy (the responsible one), Daphne (the looker), and Velma (the brains, and a sentimental favorite). But did you know that Scooby is only a nickname? (For that matter, so is Shaggy.) Or that there have been four separate theme songs, for the series' different incarnations? (That's including the lean Scrappy-Doo years.) Filling out this collection are the oh-so-groovy tunes that served as background and chase-scene music in some of the best episodes of the series, like "Seven Days a Week," from Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Scooby-doo review
We played this in the car on our vacation and our two girls loved it for the most part. They remember the songs and could sing along. They just love Scooby.

3-0 out of 5 stars Come on, get involved, til the mystery is solved.
This CD features music from various Scooby-Doo shows.Of course, the theme songs are all here. There are also some bubblegum songs that played on the original show during the chase scenes.Remember the show where the Scooby Gang teamed with a guest-star every week?Well, the songs sung by guest-stars Jerry Reed and Davy Jones are here. The songs from the later shows are mostly sung by Scooby and his pals, and are rather silly. The CD ends with a fun dance mix of Scooby-Doo music and quotes.A lot of the music on this CD isn't particularly good, but it's a fun nostalgia trip.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yeah, it's spongebob music.
This is great, so many songs you've heard in the series on one CD; however, none of the songs are normal song length, except a few.I hoped they had extended each song to include two verses,,,,oh well.......most songs are under 1 minute, so the CD actually turns out to be very short.

5-0 out of 5 stars my kid loves it
It's got the music from the Jellyfish jam episode, the Gary Come Home song, and bunches more. My kid loves it, and if she's happy, well then I'm happy.

5-0 out of 5 stars For all lovers of Spongebob!
This is a very good album. It's got alot of very very good songs on it, such "Sweet Victory" or "The Campfire Song Song." The only song that I am a little upset about not being on the CD was "The Very First Christmas." This collection of songs really is better then the first album. 5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great CD
The fun, zydeco songs on this are awesome. I've been telling all my friends how much I love it, they think I'm crazy, until they hear it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr Levine does it again!
Dragon Tales and More Dragon Tales are vibrant and fun. With Joey Levine on most of the leads is fantastic. Not to mention the songs that are written by him. Editorial Review

These prewar gems from a long-neglected artist have been remastered and now sound better than ever. Scott's career as composer, bandleader, and electronic-music pioneer is just beginning to be rediscovered. Here, he mixes swing jazz with classical forms, exotica (long before there even was such a thing), and his own hyperactive melodies to create a timeless sound. Many of the bouncy tunes are recognizable from their constant use in cartoon soundtracks over the years: the classic "Powerhouse," a jittery mix of an edgy scherzo and a relentless march (as well as a favorite of Looney Toons composer Carl Stalling); the jaunty "The Toy Trumpet"; and the dizzying "Dinner Music for a Pack of Hungry Cannibals." Scott's original recordings with his Quintette (which, strangely enough, consisted of six musicians) are a delight, and the invention and energy never let up. --Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The reviews here are just as bad as the music on the cd!
I just received the CD (12/05). Before I bought the CD I read almost all of the reviews and they whetted my appetite to get this CD.BIG mistake!I heard it last night and it is aggravating to sit through.I love music based on the Scott premise but not Scott's!With the exception of two numbers, I never heard any of it before.I never saw a cartoon that featured Scott's compositions (and neither did he!).
5-0 out of 5 stars Scott is a genius plain and simple
Sure, many people haven't heard the name Raymond Scott. However, plenty of people know his music. It has been used in both Looney Toons and Ren and Stimpy, not to mention countless other cartoons, and has been sampled to death (by artists such as Soul Coughing). However, his music can stand on its own merits and is much more than just incidental music for cartoons. In fact, Scott never composed a peice specifically for a cartoon. His music is incredibly surrealistic and zany, perfect for a cartoon. Despite the fact that this is music of its time, it sounds incredibly fresh. There wasn't much like this around in its day, and there is even less like it around today, which makes it an unique listen. This is the most logical starting point in your appreciation of Scott's legacy. If you like this music, check out the incredible double-disc set "Manhattan Research Inc", which also contains a booklet. A legend entirely deserving of his cult reputation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bug music!
I stumbled upon this album accidently, and now I am completely addicted to Raymond Scott. This album in particular is wonderful, for you will recognize tunes from various cartoons of the past, like bits used in older Warner Bros., and much older MGM cartoons. You cannot listen to this cd and remain in a bad mood, it's impossible. My daughter calls it 'bug music' (she's 2), and has to dance to it every day, and so do I!Really, it's one of those 'must haves'. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great mix of The Pillows past work
Hmm, FLCL, what a great way to start to become a Pillows fan.Without this amazing anime, I would never of met one of my now favorite bands.Though that's how many americans met them.
5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING
Knowing that there are probably not a lot of FOOLY COOLY fans out there I think that this soundtrack is AMAZING. The music in the series went perfect with the story. The music in the bacjround of a animated show should be uplifting and make you want to dance or hear it again. that is why I rated the soundtrack 5 out of 5. I also think it is a perfect deal for CD ADDICT and CD KING OF PIRATES, because byou would all the tracks from the show.AMAZING

5-0 out of 5 stars Power Chord guitar with a wild ride!
I tripped over "Fooly Cooly" on Adult Swim around 2:00am one night and thought that it was the wierdest things I'd ever seen. Now I've got the whole series on DVD. Even after watching it repeatedly, I STILL think it's one of the trippiest, acid-induced, wacked out, STRANGEST series anywhere. The visual style (and the plot line) is truly something from a seriously deranged mind. In other words: I loved it inside the first 5 minutes.

1-0 out of 5 stars SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS!
This is the worst album ever and has the worst songs anyone could ever think of. This crud makes the littlest, tiniest babys hate it!!! Everybody, save a few bucks and tell your little kids NEVER!!!!!! Spongebob, even though I love your show, for this I want you to DIE!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Enough Songs.
This CD left out a few good songs such as The Campfire Song Song and a few other Hawaiian Guitar tunes that were played while on the show. And also it should have that song where Plankton had his scary dramatic music playing on his record player and also The Georgian Chant that was playing as a background when Sandy knocked on SpongeBob's door to take him to the doctor in that episode Suds. Even though those two are like only two seconds long, I think they should've been on this CD. And also a few tunes from The Krusty Krab training Video would be nice. Also those suspense music they played in the background of certain episodes would be nice too. This CD is okay but just doesn't have enough songs. Here's a list of songs that are missing:

I think all the songs in this soundtrack are worth listening to, but this soundtrack is not so good as "Return to Pride Rock". Because many good songs were not in this soundtrack, such as "Song For the Children" "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "I Want to See the Moon". Well, I don't like this soundtrack, but I appreciate the cover of this soundtrack was cute. So I rate it 4 stars! ^_^

3-0 out of 5 stars A warning for those who liked "It's Terror Time Again"
I don't know why, but for some reason, the two songs from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island are not sung by the original group (Skycycle) who sang them. And while "The Ghost is Here" sounds fine, TTA was horribly redone. The new singer has a nasally voice and delivers several parts of the song poorly. Unfortunately, the original version of TTA is not on any other Scooby Doo CD, nor is it on any of the 2 albums released by Skycycle. So for those who want to listen to the awesome original version of It's Terror Time Again, you'll ether have to find an MP3, or hold a recorder up the the TV.

I already said a lot of what I wanted to say in the my review of the first OST (see that for more details) But, this is basically just a mix of stuff from their 5th album through their 8th one. They stil however cut many of the songs down, one being Patrica used to be much longer and with lyrics, it was from their 6th album Little Busters, and I'm pretty sure Nightmare was cut down as well. This is still a great way to be introduced to The Pillows and still shows their great variety, but the one reason to get this CD would have to be the song I Think I Can, which was espically made for this CD, meaning you can't find it anywhere else, this is the only album that The Pillows made with this song in it, and it is quite a good one (course all of them are aren't they?)
4-0 out of 5 stars It's Missing Something
When you buy this soundtrack you know that your buying it for 12 songs and not 17 because five tracks are Japanese Drama's which take up about eight to ten minutes a piece. You come to accept that they're not going to change the entire soundtrack for the American fans and you leave it alone. The problem comes in when the Drama's take up way too much time and some of the other songs are shortened to fit the disc so they won't have to waste cash on a 2 disc. I feel that fans all over would have been more excited to see five more tracks from the Pillows instead of those drama's. The dialogue is probably very good and entertaining but if you don't know Japanese there pointless to you. Great songs like White Ash are limited to only 1:19 and it is so good that you want it to be longer because when your really into it it goes off. 5-0 out of 5 stars FLCL great music for bad people
Well the FLCL anime series would not be what it is without its soundtrack. The Pillows' music compliments the weird and energizing tone of the series. Its always good to have an open mind when listining to this stuff. This OST is Brilliant ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great CD!!!!
I have all 5 CD's and it is an awesome collection! All of my favorite songs are on the 5 CD's and every Disney fan like I am should have this collection!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with these CD series...
There isn't one single song from the 1977 classic "The Rescuers" included in this collection, I don't see why Disney chose not to include any of those songs which are all gorgeous, when they did include unmemorable and weak songs instead, I've seen these CD's with songs that aren't half as good as "Tomorrow is Another Day," "The Journey," "Someone's Waiting for You" or "Rescue Aid Society."

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't remember any great tittle.
I'm probably the biggest Simpson fan in my town (Belgrade - Serbia),that's the reason I bought this album. I got it about two years ago,and I can still listen to it. This album is funny, but still there's a harmony in songs. I'll rate every single track:
3-0 out of 5 stars For simpsons fans
The simpsons is one of the most famous t.v shows ever they released tons of stuff, dvds and more but they also made music albums and this was their first one they did.`the simpsons sing the blues`was released in 1990 at the time of the first season.
4-0 out of 5 stars NICE, THIS STILL EXISTS!

Editorial Review

The second volume of the master Warner Bros. cartoon composer's work downplays the head-spinning montage of the first in favor of just-as-head-spinning complete scores. They aren't from the studio's best-known cartoons but from some of Stalling's most impressive tempo-warping, all-systems-go pieces, augmented by a few mini-pieces that illustrate the way he could transform barely familiar show tunes and classical themes into wild, rubbery jokes. Even without images, Stalling could make an orchestra suggest a "Flea-Ridden Sheep Dog" in 24 seconds flat and run enough changes on Stephen Foster's "Camptown Races" to match every mood in a Foghorn Leghorn cartoon. The head-snapping reversals of his scores anticipate much later avant-garde music. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Stalling's CD
As well as Stalling Project Part I, These recordings are more modern fidelity, less classic and more musical techniques. The improvisations appreciate me more than Part I. I like all tracks especially one from "Zoom and Bored" Salute Maestro!!!!
3-0 out of 5 stars The Carl Stalling Project Volume 2
More music from Warner Brother Cartoons 1936 to 1958.
4-0 out of 5 stars A nice follow up
I really did like the slice-and-dice format of the first disc : I think it helped keep that cartoon zaniness without the visuals. I would recommend both volumes - I listen to them alot while I'm programming! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars one good tune and the rest stink
can you guess what tune is best on this cd. well if you guessed SCOOBY DOO WHERE ARE YOU than you are correct. thats the only reason why i bought this. the song rocks.i just wished it was a longer song than just one minute. five stars for scooby doo. no stars for the rest.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Great Classic from HANNA-BARBERA!!!
This a GREAT Hanna-Barbera classic theme song cd. I just want to know who is this John "Q" Public guy? He continues to write consistant negative reviews on Hanna-Barbera shows...Maybe we should all write a negative review on him!!! 5 STARS for all the wonderful Hanna-Barbera shows and 0 (or even lower stars) for that goof "Q" public(who really doesn't speak for the public!)

3-0 out of 5 stars Re-Hash of previously issued tracks with precious little new
This compilation is basically a pick-and-chose of the tracks found in the Hanna Barbera Pic-a-nic Basket and other previously issued CD.s, with a very few previously unreleased tracks such as 'Penelope Pitstop' and 'The Wacky Races'.If you are a big fan of this music (as I am), get the Pic-a-Nic Basket and you get everything. If you want just the basics, then get this. ...
