i just started to appreciate louis prima's band-this remastered double cd offers an excellent listening experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars Jump, Jive, An' Wail!
Songs from Louis Prima and Keely Smith with Sam Butera and the Witnesses. Songs are great. Compilation includes songs from "The Wildest", "The Call of the Wildest" and "The Wildest Show at Tahoe".

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast, funny, and worth every penny!
I was skeptical about buying a compilation CD set for fear it wouldn't be good... but I was wrong! I can't get enough of these CD's. I do Swing dance and Lindy Hop, and I think some of the tempos to these songs are a bit fast for dancing, but excellent for listening to when you just want to be in a good mood!Keely has a great voice, and Louis is just plane hysterical :D ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Goin' Down The Stoney End Is One Fantastic Ride
This was one of the most exciting periods of time for me and many other Streisand fans. Barbra actually had a radio hit with the single "Stoney End" which made its chart debut in mid-October 1970 and ultimately peaked at Number 6 in Billboard. To already have been a Streisand fan and to have friends buying this 45 while pumping up the volume when it came on the radio was absolutely thrilling. My favorite singer was finally getting through to my classmates. It wasn't considered strange to be a Streisand fan at that time because she was such a powerful force in film, TV, concerts and recordings, she couldn't be ignored. Adding a hip quality of music to the movie star was thrilling.
3-0 out of 5 stars The only Babs I own.
Firstly,I am not a Streisand fan.Too much ego for me.Having said that, this CD contains the only two songs by her that don't make me want to cover my ears,"Stoney End"and"Hands Off The Man(Flim Flam Man)".The first is the hit of the Laura Nyro classic, the second is from the George C. Scott film,"Flim Flam Man".The sound quality is very good.If you are like me and can't stand Babs, but, like her early 70's hits, give it a listen. As stridently, idiotically and myopically Knee-jerk Liberal as Babs is,she inarguably has pipes on her.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great album of Barbra's from 1971!!
Barbra Streisand's Stoney End album from 1971 is one of her well known titles from the early 70s. This album is fun to listen to. Here is my own summarization of the tracks on this title:

Editorial Review

This new recording by pianist/vocalist/actor Harry Connick recording on Branford Marsalis's label, is a delightful and diverse, thirteen track saxophone/piano duet. In this setting, these New Orleans homeboys display their dizzying interplay and invention with the kind of ease that can only come from years of friendship. Marsalis’s throaty tenor and silken soprano lines blend beautifully with Connick’s Errol Garner meets Thelonious Monk and Professor Longhair pianisms. On "Valentine’s Day" and "Virgoid" Connick’s left hand is steady, with a trace of the Latin tinge. It's beautifully contrasted by the the Broadway-type tunes, "I Like Love More" and "All Things." The pianist's performance on Marsalis’s "Steve Lacy" – anatmospheric elegy to the late sax giant – and the boppish title track -- proves that, to the contrary, familiarity breeds good jazz, not contempt. It also reminds us that there’s more to Connick than Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Its all marsalis.
This album is fantastic but I was expecting more Harry.Obviously he's on every track, it is his album after all, but Branford really steals this album. His sax is great, and this album made me a fan of his.I love Harry, but some of his piano on this disc is too simple and at times it blends in so much you almost forget its there. All around good album.

5-0 out of 5 stars Connick is a brilliant pianist
I saw a concert with Connick a few years ago in which he went from piano to piano on stage and played so amazingly. Before that I never knew what an amazing musician he was, )I had thought of him mainly as a singer). This CD totally shows off what Harry can do. We all know about Marsalis's mastery but know we hear how Connick can match up with the best with out even using his voice. Awesome!

Editorial Review

Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of T.S. Eliot's poems may not have become Broadway's longest-running musical without the original cast to begin the raves. Which is why every aficionado of this theatrical classic will tell you that this is the one you have to own (although they'll probably tell you that you need the import original London cast album as well, the show having originated on London's West End and all). But this is the one with Betty Buckley singing "Memory"--the song that turned her into a star. While the complete two-disc set is an appropriate length for the musical that helped set off Broadway's "operatic" phase, this 57-minute highlights CD includes most of the familiar numbers, omitting the overture, "The Naming of Cats," "Bustopher Jones," "The Moments of Happiness," and the mini-epic "Growltiger's Last Stand." The show is now also available--in its entirety--as a home video, but the music still stands on its own, though some cynics have wondered why so much music only produced one hit standard. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The best of Cats?
As a casual fan, I found this "highlights" disc perfect. I saw the play, and this includes every track that stood-out to me. The music is all top-notch of course. The huge hit "Memory" is here, and basically every song about every cat in the play. I've seen many plays through the years, and I always liked Cats the most because it's fun and catchy, unlike "Les Mis" or some of "Phantom". Anyway, the fanatics can get the double-disc. I'll enjoy this "Selections from" along with my similar collection from "Rent".

I'm Jakob Balen, someone obsessed with CATS.Here are the songs.
4-0 out of 5 stars Best Moments for this Groundbreaking (but tired) Musical
"Cats" was extremely important for its time & paved the way for many future musicals. Currently, its the longest running show in Broadway history ... thankfully, though, Mr. Webber's masterpiece, "Phantom of the Opera" will take the crown in early 2006.

Editorial Review

In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967 and reissued on compact disc in 1988, collects Patsy Cline's biggest hits--all of them from the country singles market--including "Walkin' After Midnight," "Sweet Dreams (Of You)," "Crazy," and "I Fall to Pieces." Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's "countrypolitan" sound. Before Shania Twain found a new (though not necessarily improved) way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist. Read more

Patsy Cline will always be considered one of this country's best female vocalists. Her distinct sound and style made her songs instant classics. The 12 songs compiled here are her best works, in my opinion. If you want to hear how singing should really be done, add this one to your collection. You won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just for fans of jazz
I am not reallly a big jazz fan. Neither am I particularly fond of Ella Fitzgerald's more upbeat recordings, although I find her vocal range and timing impressive, to say the least. However, I love this album. I bought it only recently and now it's among my absolute favourites - never mind that the rest of my collection is more likely to feature Franz Ferdinand, Erykah Badu, U2, Arctic Monkeys, Metallica and Kate Bush than jazz standards.
5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Ella
What nobody gets is that any review only expresses the opinion of the reviewer. That opinion, as a recommendation for or against an artist's work is valueless and the one I'm about to give is no exception.
5-0 out of 5 stars How do you describe perfection?
I was going to write a review until I read Chris from London's Spotlight Review. He sums up my sentiments exactly, so it's enough to say that, out of all the hundreds of jazz CD's I have, this has to be coolest.Ella really is unbelievable and without equal.I listened to 'Angel Eyes' (the second track) about 20 times before allowing the player to go on to the third - awestruck and spellbound. There just aren't the words... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Overlooked Classic in the Streisand Catalog...."Why Did I Choose You"
Barbra's 1965 TV show of the same name made waves by scoring multiple Emmys that year, including one for Babs. The TV special was still filmed in B&W, but was revolutionary in its concept and approach.A newcomer to television, Barbra instantly made a name for herself in front of millions of tube watchers.
5-0 out of 5 stars Barbra Streisand: My Name Is Barbra (1965)
In May of 1965, Barbra Streisand released her fifth album entitled, MY NAME IS BARBRA. I have enjoyed this album as much as I did with her PEOPLE album. A lot of great songs on here for all Barbra's fans to enjoy. Let me explain on.
5-0 out of 5 stars The wonder is right here!
A soundtrack of sorts to the Emmy Award-winning television special of the same name, the Grammy Award-winning MY NAME IS BARBRA became another Gold-selling smash for the then-unstoppable phenomenon known as Barbra Streisand. This album hit #2 on Billboard's Hot 200 and it contains all of the new songs featured in the show, as well as some new recordings to replace the songs that had already appeared on her pervious records.A semi-concept record; the first portion is devoted to songs about the child in all of us ("I'm Five," "Sweet Zoo"), next some songs about the transition from child to adult ("Jenny Rebecca," "Where Is The Wonder"), and finally, songs from an adult perspective ("I Can See It," "Why Did I Choose You?").Throughout the course of this cycle, Barbra gives beautiful renditions of "My Pa" (which is the song "My Love" from The Yearling with different lyrics), as well as the definitive versions of "Someone To Watch Over Me" and "My Man."A fantastic complement to a spectacular show. ... This new compilation of Eartha Kitt classics is a great clear and crisp C.D. for lovers of 'The Worlds Most Exciting Woman'. This 'Lounge' set is truly exceptional and contains many hard to findgems. Included are superior early 60's re-recordings of 'Just An Old Fashioned Girl', 'C'Est Si Bon' 'My Heart Belongs To Daddy' and a fantastic uptempo version of 'I Want To Be Evil' that shows this feline Catwoman at her best. Miss Kitt is in peak form here doing standards such as 'Love For Sale', 'Whatever Lola Wants', 'Never On Sunday' and the rare 'Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend'. She purrs and growls her way through classy and distinctive renditions of 'Mack The Knife', 'A Lady Loves' and the festive tease 'Santa Baby'. Definitely for thebachelor pad or cocktail party. 5-0 out of 5 stars Avoid this with your heart broken.
During the fifties Sinatra released a series of concept albums. Many of those albums are truly excellent. Where Are You is among the best of those releases. Gordon Jenkins is responsible for most of the arrangements here. Where Nelson Riddle's arrangement were often downbeat and somewhat tongue in the cheek, Jenkins' arrangement tend to be very Lush affairs. Tears seem to be poring out of every string arrangement without ever drawing away to much attention from Sinatra's voice. Even though this voice has been immensely popular over the years, ironically it has also been one of the most underestimated. Mainly because Sinatra has an image of the suave showman, the ladies man. His appearance was one of the main factors in his success, cool and nonchalant. This album shows how deceptively nonchalant he actually was. Although his singing always sounds loose his timing is almost perfect. Classics as Autumn Leaves a delivered with care and great respect for the material. His deliverance ofI'm A Fool To Want You manage to choke me up every time. This album is not to be approached with your heart broken if you want to keep your eyes dry. This truly is a deserving classic. One of Sinatra's many.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sinatra as You Want to Hear Him
If you have any appreciation of Frank Sinatra, buy this album. It's hard to imagine he could ever have been in better voice. As stated by other reviewers, the selection of songs is melancholy and Sinatra's delivery creates the impression he's been through all the experiences they suggest. His range is unstrained, his phrasing incomparable and his breath control more than adequate.I do believe few singers could have sung some of the songs at such a slow pace while maintaining musicality. One can enjoy the album on several levels. Listening is such a pleasing experience, though, one soon wonders just what elements are at work here and this leads to more analytical listening. In that regard, the selected songs comprise a cohesive whole. One is not bounced around adjusting to a variety of moods. Sinatra's phrasing in itself is worth a listen-through--the delay in ending a word, his choice of separating or closely linking words, etc. I found a striking difference between the Gordon Jenkins tracks and those with Nelson Riddle.Jenkins' arrangements were works of art.The introductions and interludes were truly musical experiences in their own right. When Frank was singing, though, the orchestra became unobtrusive and the arrangement seemed to encourage him to sing the song as he chose.I'm sure some will disagree but I found Riddle's arrangements less imaginative and more workmanlike. Moreover, Sinatra seemed more constrained by the Riddle arrangements, not as free to do it his way as he was on the Jenkins tracks. This is not to imply that there are four bad tracks on this album---there are none. It's simply that the Jenkins tracks were magic---masterful orchestration and Frank at the top of his form. This CD is certainly one of my most satisfying musical purchases.

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of My Personal Favorites
Sinatra singing, Gordon Jenkins conducting : that's an excellent association! Here, Jenkins's music truly emphasises Frank's deep voice. The songs, all very good, are sung with style and grace. The mood is sad and melancholic and will, without a doubt, bring tears to your eyes.

Blessed by an impeccable showbiz gene pool (her mother was Hollywood legend Judy Garland, her father producer Vincente Minelli), Liza Minelli seemed to effortlessly fuse Garland's song 'n' dance acumen with a boisterous, footlight-bred persona rivaled only by Ethel Merman. This 16-track collection is a fine introduction to her body of work, especially as it's the first anthology to cull material from her keyat different labels. 4-0 out of 5 stars Legendary
Liza Minnelli is without doubt one of the dynamos in music history, daughter of legendary entertainer (Judy Garland) and film director (Vincent Minnelli) Liza Minnelli was destined to follow in her famous parents shoes. At first Minnelli had to release herself from her mother and find her own platform, and boy, she did indeed. The legend began in 1963 when she got casted in an off-Broadway show called "Best Food Forward" but achieved real fame as her performance as Flora in the Broadway show, Flora the Red Menace. The show was the beginning of a collaboration between Minnelli and Fred Ebb and John Kander (who would go on and write many of her signature tunes). For the first time Sony music has managed to compile many of Minnelli's signature cuts. From her glory "Cabaret" to her high-strung days of "New York, New York" Sony has compiled the original versions. Minnelli's legend is based on her powerful vocal chords, her amazing, bubbly character and her incredible driving force. In recent years she's been better than she has in years, a friend of mine caught Minnelli in concert in Cannes, France, in the summer of 2005 it was a show she would never forget. Regretfully Minnelli was never able to convert as well to the recording studio, "Losing My Mind" is a bold, but daring electro-dance version of Sondheim's classic and "The Singer" reveals Minnelli's powerful voice, but unfortunately falls flat to the ground as nothing more than a simple tune. In retrospect, if Liza had found the right producers she might have been able to create something along the lines of the stuff that's on her 1996 album "Gentle" she would indeed have been able to sell a lot more records than she has. Her power was always her live performances, when it comes to performing live, no one's her equal. She has an amazing driving force and she never gives in. She always gives 100% even if she's not feeling well. Minnelli knows that this is her platform and when it comes to rank, she's always a step or two above her rivals. When all is good, Sony manages to pull together some of the songs most associated with Liza Minnelli, from "All That Jazz" to "Liza With a Z" sit back and enjoy one of the world most beloved entertainers.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best compilations
This is probally the best Liza compilation to date. The other one to look at is "The Ultimate Collection". The songs on this CD are some of Liza's best. I was glad to see "Stepping Out" and "A quiet thing" as they are almsot always overlooked. This will also appeal to long time fans for the unrealeased tracks, "Me an My Baby" and "There is a Time". There are some things missing though. How can you leave out "Mein Herr" from Cabaret in a Best of album? It is Liza's most iconic image with the chair and bowler hat. Also what about "City Lights" from THE ACT? Perhaps her best song, and one of the better known ones, "But the world goes 'round" is also missing. Another gripe is the song "Old Friends". They take it from The "Live From Radio City" album... not the complete song, and only about 30 seconds long. WHile there is a full version on Three Weeks at Carnegie Hall. There are just too many songs identified with Liza Minnelli to fit on one CD. I am still waiting for a double CD compilation, or a well deserved Liza box set. If you really want an ultimate album, try Liza, Live AT Carnegie Hall (Three weeks at Carnegie Hall). It is a double album that showcases all of Liza's best songs up until 1987. It also has songs she had never sung before as well. It is expensive though, being a double album. @0-27 dollars. But it is Live and Liza is always at her best Live. She has more Live albums than most any other artist. If you have a chance to actually see her live to not pass it up! If you are just looking for a $12 compilation, just to get a taste of the great Liza Minnelli, this album may be for you.
5-0 out of 5 stars LEGENDARYMIXOFMINNELLICLASSICS~BRAVOLIZA!!!
Liner notes by the late and great Fred Ebb say it all when he states "when you see Liza live, you know as you leave that you've just experienced something incredible that can never be repeated. A moment in time.Herein lies the joy of recordings..."From the top opening with the Kander/Ebb classic "Cabaret" which won Liza the Oscar for Best Actress then flowing into a stunning "Some People" from Gypsy, it is clear that Liza Minnelli is at the peak of her incredible powers in this collection and there is nothing finer. A triumphant live performance of "There Is A Time" is stunning and a trilogy of definitive performances from the musical "Chicago" make it clear that it was a sad loss that Liza didn't star in the movie as it would have been a blazing masterpiece for sure!!!! Lost treasures abound and "Quite Thing" from the Tony Winning "Liza Live At The Winter Garden" is a haunting ballad from a great concert that should be released on Compact Disc as it is one of Liza's greatest ever recordings.Studio recordings like the Pet Shop Boys produced "Losing My Mind" which topped the British charts show how American Radio has foolishly overlooked this great singer and another lost opportunity for a mega-hit is the magnificent "The Singer" which would have been a huge hit if given any airplay at all!!!"The Singer" was produced and arranged by the same team who did Cher's 70's hit singles and has the same infectious "Hit" sound yet it is totally original and completely engrossing.Epic performances of "New York, New York" and "Stepping Out" close out this collection of legendary performances and Liza continues to this day to thrill audiences wherever she appears!!! In San Diego by the Sea in August 2004, Liza gave a magnificent performance and received numerous standing ovations from a sold out audience who were all mesmerized by this legendary talent who remains peerless...Thank You LiZa!!!!! ... Unlike some of Tony Bennett's numerous other "tribute" records, there is little about the packaging of STEPPIN' OUT that screams "dedicated to Fred Astaire!"In fact, not having glanced at the self-penned liner notes before playing this CD, it took me `til the medley that is track 15 (and which makes two overt references to the dancing legend) to realize that, hey, this must be a Fred Astaire tribute! As the kids say, d'oh!

This cd is down right cool. While his voice doesn't match what it was in the 50's and 60's... who really wants that?People grow older and their voices change. His voice is in fine shape on this cd however. This cd really swings. He comes across as the epitome of cool. The Fred Astaire songs are fantastic. The Ralph Sharon Trio a wonderful choice to accompany him.Like the best of his cd's which honor others (Perfectly Frank), he doesn't try to copy the singer, he doesn't copy the arrangements, he just comes across as Tony Bennett being Tony Bennett.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Disc Swings!
I have rarely heard performances swing like this. Tony Bennett and the Ralph Sharon Trio click perfectly. I want more like this. You don't have to have the chops of a 20 year old to swing and swingin's the thing as these guys show. I have an embarassingly large and varied CD collection and I count this among my favorites. ... Thsi is one of my favorities and Im the sort of person that likes the early 70s opus.
1-0 out of 5 stars A Barbra Fan- but this one's a stinker
I am truly a fan- but I recently listened to an old cassette of this album and struggled to get through it. Except for a few tracks (On My Way to You and All I Ask of You), this album is embarrassing. It has not aged well and ranks, in my mind, as one of Barbra's worst efforts. I actually threw the tape away- a first for me!

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbra Streisand: Till I Loved You (1988)
In October of 1988, Barbra Streisand released her thirty-first album entitled, TILL I LOVED YOU. This album is just amazing. There are not too many fast-going songs. Well, there are some up-tempo songs, but they are not dance-like, they are simply smooth and peacefull. Every song on here is definitely a winner.

Editorial Review

This collection spans the years from 1948 to 1960, compiling 20 of Dean Martin's best cuts from his tenure at Capitol Records. Dino did his best work during this period, so it should come as no surprise to find that this compilation is as solid as a week-old meatball. From "Powder Your Face With Sunshine" and "That's Amore" to "On an Evening in Roma" and "Ain't That a Kick in the Head," it's all primo Dino. His voice is sweet and supple, and his sense of fun is infectious (unlike on many of his Reprise recordings, he really seems to be enjoying himself here). If you're only going to buy one Dean Martin record, this is definitely the one you want. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Capitol Collectors series: Dean Martin
A very good selection of twenty Dean Martin songs from a number of years.

5-0 out of 5 stars AFAITHFUL FAN'S REVIEW
In 1989 I purchased the cassette tape of this album.I lost the tape, and cannot say how excited I was to see this on a CD.Even though I have everyone of these songs on other albums, I am purchasing the CD because it is one of the most delightful combinations of Dean's hits currently available.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of Dino's Capitol Years
This CD is a collection of Dean Martin's best songs from his years at Capitol records from 1948 to 1960; while many Dean Martin favorites were recorded in the first decade of his singing career, few of these songs were top 10 hits, which I find amazing and tragic.Even the wonderful song "You Belong To Me" never surpassed #12 on the charts. This is a great mix of Dean Martin trademarks such as "That's Amore," "Memories Are Made of This" (Dean's first #1 song), "Return to Me," and "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" alongside less familiar but no less wonderful tracks such as "If," "I'd Cry Like a Baby," "Standing on the Corner," and "Innamorata."Overall, these songs offer even more proof to my theory that there is no such thing as a bad Dean Martin song.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Why change the background?
The soundtrack is great, because of Patsy's voice. I don't understand why they had to change the background for the movie- All they had to do was use the original 4-Star material that Patsy recorded. Maybe they weren't able to do so, due to copywrights and such. Whatever the case, even if I like the original backgrounds better, they are an interesting change. My favorite track is "San Antiono Rose." It's always been one of my favorite Patsy songs and it sounds great with an alternate background. I recommend this album to add to your Patsy collection if you are a fan!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Patsy Cline Is The #1 Greatest Female Vocalist Of All Time!
I truly love this cd!The new background instrumentation added to update certain tracks are just the greatest.San Antonio Rose, Seven Lonely Days, Blue Moon Of Kentucky, and Foolin' 'Round truly shine on this CD.The CD also contains the essentials:I Fall To Pieces, Sweet Dreams, Walkin' After Midnight (in a new jazzy-type horn arrangement), She's Got You, and Crazy. This CD is extremely essential and a must-have for anyone who enjoys listening to female singers.Your Cheatin' Heart and Half As Much also feature new arrangements, and the fresh new sound these songs are given is what makes the soundtrack CD unique and very essential to own.If you only buy two of her CD's (I own dozens, including her 4 CD box set), Irecommend this one and 12 Greatest Hits, which also includes Leavin' On Your Mind and Faded Love.I love this CD and play it all the time!I could never say enough about how I think Patsy Cline is the greatest female vocalist I have ever heard. She is definitely the undisputed voice of the century. No other singer, no matter how good, could ever duplicate her songs. It's been said many times that other singers can sing the words, but only Patsy Cline can sing the songs. She's simply the best female singer of all time. And easily one of the most influental singers in the history of any genre of music.Patsy Cline is and always will be the best!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars 100-Proof Dino
This recent CD of Dean Martin's 1967 Sands engagement remains among the few live recordings from the King of Cool. It's essentially the same Vegas lounge act that Dino performed throughout the 1960s. However, there are a few musical additions (notably "Welcome to My World," "If You Knew Susie" and "Babyface") -- and some intriguing off-the-cuff remarks about ex-partner Jerry Lewis. The overall sound quality surpasses most bootlegs.

5-0 out of 5 stars DINO ISTHE RANDIEST!
Man, it's like you're in a front seat at Dino's gig in Vegas.
5-0 out of 5 stars King of Cool Classic Concert
Relaxed, funny, but ALWAYS the consumate pro, "Dean Martin Live from Las Vegas" is a previously unreleased gem from the Capitol vaults. It is classic Dino, great standards seamlessly blended with irreverent humor. This CD is part of the Las Vegas centennial celebration and features live preformances from Bobby Darin, Frank, and others.I don't agree with the other reviewers who criticized the mono soundtrack. This is an essential purchase for all serious Dino afficionados.Dean is in fine form, and the sound quality is excellent.Buy it, enjoy it, and realize that you are listening to one of the finest vocalists of all time. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty average Connick release
Many of his fans cringed at the experimentalism of STAR TURTLE and SHE. Unfortunately, I think their relief at Connick's return to the big-band style of WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, WE ARE IN LOVE, and RED LIGHT, BLUE LIGHT is making them a bit too effusive in their praise for this album.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Mix of Old and New
Harry Connick Jr.'s "Come By Me" is a fabulous mix of fresh arrangements on beloved standards and refreshingly beautiful new and original songs. He uses both Orchestra and a return to the Big Band style for some wonderful variety. The more I played it, the more I loved it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not the Best
I think Harry Connick Jr. is a great singer and musician but this album was a major disappointment to me.The arrangements were uninspired and he seemed to be going through the motions.Others apparently love it so I will merely offer a dissenting opinion. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fall In Love All Over Again.
A Bargain? NO! This is not a bargain, This is a friggin steal. Two Johnny Mathis albums for less than what we pay for the new stuff. Someone at Sony marketing has definitely dropped the ball on this album. Why it is so difficult to find is beyond me. This is nowhere near the usual one hit plus twenty cut outs or "B" sides you usually get in one of these twofers. This album set hits the spot like a "balmy breeze on a night in May" or "like a cool mint julip on summer day." Johnny Mathis "hits a new high in my estimation." In a word everything about t
