5-0 out of 5 stars BEST RY COODER SLIDE SOLO EVER!!!!
To be honest, I only like one song on this CD. The rest is pretty bad, in my opinion, with a chorus of black singers and Ry mostly in the background. HOWEVER, the track "Jesus on the Mainline" contains an UNBELIEVABLE and epic slide solo by Ry. This solo (greatest slide playing ever recorded?) makes this an essential disc. Definitely the best guitar playing by Ry this side of A Meeting by the River. Its soo good that this is a must have, even though [I personally think] the rest of the CD pretty much sucks. BUY IT ANYWAYS!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid Live Ry Cooder
"There is so little live Ry available, it's great to find a live CD from a great era of Ry's work. This CD comes from the era of transition from Chicken Skin Music to Bop Till You Drop, with most from the former(along with similar stylings).

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Americana, Cooder-Style
Ry Cooder put this incredible band together in the late '70's, combining the soul stylings of vocalists Bobby King and Terry Evans with conjunto king accordianist Flaco Jimenez, and Ry's own amazing slide guitar work. This is a band in the truest sense, traversing American music and bringingfresh, creative interpretations of songs like Woody Guthrie's"Do-Re-Mi", r&b classic "Smack Dab In The Middle",and the Mexican torch standard, "Volver, Volver".This albumintroduced me to Flaco, and led to a series of trips to furniture stores inDenver's Mexican neighborhoods--the only places you could find hisalbums,at that time. Leave it to a master musician and musicologist like RyCooder to find these talented people, and create something so unique. Thisis a live album in every way. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I didnt think it was possible...
for Tracy Nelson to get better.I remember hearing Down So Low when it first came out and was stunned.Until listening to this live recording, I didnt think it could be improved upon.. but I guess age and experience have given her the ability to make it even more mesmerizing.I bought the CD, got in my truck, drove off, put in the CD, and started to listen.I pulled off the road because I didnt think I should be driving.
5-0 out of 5 stars Ditto what all the guys said!
I really can't top the first three reviews. They said it all. I will add that I was glad to see a version of "God Will", since I love that song. Hearing it sung by Tracy, who has been my favorite singer since I first heard her back in Madison, Wisconsin, in college, was a real thrill.5-0 out of 5 stars Missing Out On This CD Is A Crime!
Devotees of singer Tracy Nelson (and I certainly number myself among them) have been waiting for years for an official 'live' release from this phenomenal artist.Tracy has released 21 albums prior to this release, all of which have their wonderful moments and some are downright clasics(including 2001's independently released EBONY & IRONY, as well as I FEEL SO GOOD, and MOVE ON from the 1990s (both on Rounder Records), and several re-releases from her early days in the 60s and 70s).It's all great stuff, but even folks who love her studio work have been known to come out of one her concerts utterly astonished. It's almost as though even the best studio settings cannot do this astonishingly powerful singer justice.Read more

Editorial Review

It's not the familiar, fiery playing of Stevie Ray Vaughan that tips listeners off that this set's first disc has captured an extraordinary moment in modern blues history; it's the jarring, rising chorus of boos that accompanies it. As with previous musicians as disparate as Dylan and Stravinsky, Vaughan's willful tweaking of staid genre conventions initially infuriated purists. Though few could have imagined it at the time, Vaughan and company's July 17, 1982, show at the Montreux Jazz Festival (included here in its entirety) ignited not only a brilliant career, but a widespread revival of the blues as well.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars get it on DVD
I bought this in a 2-DVD set for my husband this past Christmas; he is a big SRV fan.The DVD set is absolutely fantastic. The music is great, but Stevie Ray is also so awesome to watch, especially the 1985 concert. It is a must-have for SRV fans; get it on DVD, you won't regret it!

5-0 out of 5 stars 1982 Amazing. Short, perhaps his best.
I have been a fan since his first album. I bought this to keep the collection complete, thinking it was just another live set. The first disc, from before his first album was recorded, is a brilliant, hungry and energetic set. I understand now why David Bowie and Jackson Browne had to introduce themselves after this concert. Short, yes, perhaps his best. The second disc is great from years later. Buy this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some of the very best live SRV
Well, first of all, the 1985 Montreux show is very good. The fact that several of the '85 cuts were released back in '86 on the "Live Alive" album is a bit of a drawback, but the music is excellent. Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band perform superbly throughout the set, resulting in magnificent renditions of "Texas Flood", "Ain't Gone 'N' Give Up On Love" and several more.

Robert Nighthawk's slide guitar was revered by the likes of Muddy Waters and B.B. King. It's easy to hear why on this raw, lively, and relaxed recording of Nighthawk and a few of his cronies, including harmonica ace Carey Bell, playing outdoors at Chicago's famed Maxwell Street Market. It's the kind of setting Nighthawk loved (for more of the music recorded there, also check out the three-CD set Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nighthawk: Master of the Slide
Robert Nighthawk is a true master of slide guitar. His slide playing is low-down, dark, emotive, and causes me to make all kinds of strange facial expressions. Nighthawk had a relaxed singing voice and a decent variety of blues lyrics, though his real strength was his killer guitar playing. However, the song "Mama, Talk To Your Daughter" keeps me from giving this album 5 stars. The singer, who is probably not J.B. Lenoir, doesn't have the greatest voice and sometimes forgets to sing directly into the microphone. The song is also very repetitive, and is better when it's kept to three minutes or so in length, like Lenoir or John Lee Hooker's versions of it. Don't get me wrong; this is an awesome album, and one of the top three greatest live blues albums of all-time. The thirteen minute interview is very enjoyable and revealing. Nighthawk seems like a quiet, reserved, humble man, and it's a shame that some of the slide playing he demonstrates in the interview didn't provoke him to disregard the interview altogether and play entire songs! One can definitely see where Muddy Waters' solo on his live version of "Streamline Woman" came from; Muddy borrowed it from Nighthawk. As another reviewer said, if you are interested in the California, studio-produced, obnoxious, crappy music that is an indication of the downfall of Western Civilization, avoid this album because you won't like it.If you are interested in authentic electric blues, forget about Vaughan, Clapton and Johnny Winter for now, and get to the heart of electric blues- Robert Nighthawk, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf.

4-0 out of 5 stars Real Blues the Way It Was Meant to Be Played
Ashlee Simpson fans would not appreciate this CD.This is real blues played live in a relaxed setting.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the all-time classic blues records
Robert Lee McCullum, called "Nighthawk" after his song "Prowling Nighthawk", was one of the major innovators of electric blues. He was a stylish and extremely versatile slide guitarist, and the man behind blues classics such as "Anna Lee" and the definitive reading of "Sweet Black Angel" (a song which is usually associated with B.B. King, who re-named it "Sweet Little Angel").

5-0 out of 5 stars sneaks up on you
i scored this record from the buck bin yesterday. the owner of the shop looked at it like maybe it shouldn't have been in there but sold it to me anyhow. he said i should run home quick and listen to it because james booker is a revelation. right he was - when side one finished i didn't even flip over the record, i just plopped the needle right back at the beginning.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hear it again (exponentially) and feel good
If you love New Orleans jazz, esp. piano songs, you'll love this album.I end up listening to this album almost every day at work -- it's inspirational in the best sense of the word. I bought this CD because I love Prof. Longhair and Dr. John and was looking for new influences; read the above amazon reviews and decided to give it a shot. You should too.James Booker's voice and piano will shake your soul and make you love humanity. It's a feel-good CD, a really-feel-good CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Gem

5-0 out of 5 stars Alan Haynes is the most impressive guitarist I've heard live
Why doesn't Amazon have Alan Hayne's "Live at the Big Easy" album?I want to hear him by himself!I was in Austin for a conference, and accidentally wandered into Joe's Generic Bar on 6th Street, and was totally blown away by Alan Haynes!Apparently, he's better known in Europe than in his home country (the U.S.), and that's a real shame for us. I can't ever remember being so impressed, and I would have been just as impressed if he had been playing Carnegie Hall, and I had paid $50 for tickets.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not Much Better Than This
Jim Suhler is good but Alan Haynes is great!... Check out the Red Guitar he has, it was Stevie Ray's on the Albert King Record- IN Sessions. Alan has been playing since he was 8 years old and is tremendous. Buy this CD and go check him out at Joe's Generic Bar on 6th Street in Austin (every tuesday night!). He will rock your world!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Delbert - Live From Austin
To start with, I DON'T like country music. With that said, this CD rocks.I had to try a Delbert McClinton CD after listening to Imus drone on daily about Delbert McClinton and started out with this CD.I am particularly a fan of tight bands and they just don't get tighter than his.The twangy ones I can do without but overall this CD rates a 6 on a scale of 5.And if you get the chance to see him and his band live, well, don't miss it.Pay any money. You will not be diappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars McClinton Rocks Austin City Limits
For lovers of good clean rock and roll with a bluesy flair, this album is one of the best buys around.Backed up by a terrific band, including a fabulous horn section, McClinton runs through his own classics like "Givin' It Up For Your Love",and "Back To Louisiana" as well as covers like Otis Redding's "I've Got Dreams To Remember". McClinton's raunchy voice and energetic style prove that he sets the standard for live perfomances. The album's only drawback is that at less than 40 minutes in length, the party is over before you are ready for the fun to end.Nonetheless, it remains one of my favorite albums, bar none. An absolute must have for any rock and roll fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent compilation of Delbert's best work
Although live, this is an excelent recording and I think that a live performance is the only way to hear Delbert at his best.I also have the Ultimate Collection CD, which it is not the Ultimate collection, it is missing Standing on Shaky ground and several other great tracks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars At Sugar Hill
Sugar Hill was an upscale blues joint in San Francisco, and Sonny and Brownie played it just 6 months after it opened, this CD being the results of that engagement. And it's a beauty. Often on record dates with these two giants, Brownie takes most of the vocals, with Sonny singing 2 or 3 songs; on this one, Sonny sings just as much as Brownie. (Early in their career Brownie once told Sonny that if he wanted half the money he was going to have to sing, not just play harmonica.) Sonny is an old-time blues singer, preferring older forms, traditional verses, all done in his raspy, unrefined voice. Brownie is smoother in voice and likes to experiment a bit with the blues form. For example, BORN TO LIVE, sung by Brownie, is 32-bars long, with a bridge, though it's drenched with blues feeling. WORRY, WORRY, WORRY also is slightly different, and includes a "whomp" at the end of each phrase. Sonny sings JUST ABOUT CRAZY, which sounds very much like a work song, while I FEEL ALRIGHT NOW is a secular spiritual. Both men are in excellent form here. Blues fans should find a lot to love on this CD.

4-0 out of 5 stars ****1/2 - a great live date
This December, 1961 recording captures Sonny and Brownie at the famous Sugar Hill nightclub in San Francisco.
5-0 out of 5 stars An overlooked classic?
This live album captures a pair of legends at their best.Sonny and Terry fueded through their long careers but perhaps those very emotions fueled their amazing energy on these tracks. If you in any sense consider yourself a fan of the blues, you *must* own this album.Read more

Editorial Review

Think of Big Bill Broonzy as Leadbelly with sharper teeth. Like the seminal Texas strummer, Broonzy worked in the songster tradition, using guitar purely as accompaniment to his storytelling rather than a means of virtuosic expression. But Broonzy's political lyrics--especially the famed color-line critique "Black, Brown, and White," with its warning "if you're black, get back"--are more direct. So are his onstage observations about racism and poverty in America in the two just-unveiled concerts on this two-disc set. As the liner notes explain, gin and the warmth of Broonzy's audience loosened the native Mississippian's lips on these nights. Nonetheless, his openhearted delivery of originals like "Just a Dream," later covered by his disciple Muddy Waters, and the standard repertoire of the early folk-blues era ("Midnight Special," Leroy Carr's "When the Sun Goes Down") is on the mark. An improvised stab at "Guitar Rag" and a "Happy Birthday" to a new acquaintance testify to the informality of these sets. They also lend breadth to a rare self-portrait of this highly influential bluesman as an inspired entertainer. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A-MEN, brother reviewer...
Yeah, man, the "official" reviewer just doesn't get it AT ALL. This is one of the best ROOTS recordings EVER - and I don't say that lightly. Remember...this is 1971...LIVE, a 2 LP recording, at the Fillmore...I mean, the Allman Brothers - WITH DUANE - did their recording that same year. Now, how many acts could have gotten away with playing a tune with nothing but a banjo and a TUBA, for cryin' out loud! ("Tom And Sally Drake")? Taj Mahal, that's who. Taj engages the audience as well as anyone ("Gimme some help...GIMME SOME! - You can do it...if you're jacked up to it...) and standouts here are the norm. "You're Goin' To Need Somebody On Your Bond" is the groover, with Taj 'gettin spiritual' with the blues, and doing the back and forth with the crowd. Also a highlight is "Ain't Gwine Whistle Dixie No Mo'", where every band member gets a piece of the action, and my spine tingles at the thought of John Simon groovin' on the piano, and John Hall doing a GREAT guitar solo, and ending, with Taj whistling over the many horns. No, if you don't get it, you don't get it...but I was 15...and I got it. This is Taj's moment in Time, Live - History, I believe it's called - and he grabs on and holds tight. Any fan of blues, jazz, roots, gospel, or African-American music History has to consider this a MUST HAVE CD. Period.

4-0 out of 5 stars Taj Always Had His Own Style
This is an excellent Taj Mahal CD. The album is fun and relaxing and must have been a great show to see. The quality of the music is great considering it was taken from a live performance. Although, a few times on the CD when Taj is talking between songs, the sound drops very quiet for a short time but quickly shoots back up to a good volume. The use of horns is a great change on this album and the other musicians on the stage sound great throughout. This is a good CD which will spice up any blues collection by providing a sound different from most otherblues albums.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is it!
The "official" review doesn't take into account the power of this album as a whole. The chemistry is there, and this has the raw energy of the best blues. One of my favorite albums of all time. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Few blues partnerships were ever as successful and satisfying as the union of Sonny Terry's down-home harmonica work and Brownie McGhee's polished guitar lines. This generous, 18-tune live session catches the late acoustic blues brothers in their physical prime and at their musical best, rolling through an energetic set of conversational blues with casual virtuosity and seemingly telepathic interplay. Terry, a stone-cold traditionalist, contributes a raw-boned, backwoods feel with his heavily textured singing and harp solos while the modern McGhee's smooth vocals and clean picking provide a perfectly compatible counterpoint and complement. Either artist could carry the show by himself, but when the divergent styles musically intertwine they create a wonderful blues synthesis unlike any other the blues has known. The dynamic duo jumps right in with a reconfigured rendition of "Sittin' on Top of the World" and doesn't let up until the end. With Terry whooping and hollering between harp breaks and McGhee opening songs with comic asides the session is an unusually personable one. It's all undeniably authentic and eminently enjoyable, as well as positive blues proof that on very rare and fortunate occasions the whole is much greater than just the sum of the two parts. --Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best Terry/McGhee-albums
A fine companion to the classic "Sonny & Brownie At Sugar Hill", this is a great buy for those who treasure Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee's brand of no-nonsense porch-style get-down blues.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee/Backwater Blues
This Backwater Blues CD is excellent. Not a bad song on it.These two were truly masters of this style of Blues. My favorite song on this CD is Louise, but I feel this is truly one of the best examples of their work.

5-0 out of 5 stars From a man who loves the blues:
Friends, you cannot find old-school blues better than Backwater Blues.Sonny & Brownie's strained partnership has produced many excellent recordings, of which I believe this is the best. This album is the way the blues were meant to be played: just the simple, old-style tunes; just two men, two microphones, a guitar, and a harmonica. No fancy electronics, no prettyboy singers, just ol' Backwater Blues. If that's the way you like your blues, then get this album, sit back on a hot summer day, and play it all the way through! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best CD I ever heard! Where has Kelley been hiding!!
Enjoyed the enthusiastic blue-sy voice and excellent piano! The quality was amazing and I'd buy this one AGAIN and AGAIN!! I especially enjoyed Queen of the 88's, a great boogie beat! It's an incredible 9 minutes long at least! I hope to see Kelley Live in concert soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Lady ROCKS!
I've seen Kelley Hunt perform several times & she is one I will never tire of seeing.Inspiration is just the album she needed to put out to the fans as anyone who has seen her live knows this is where she truly shines! She gives it all she's got the entire show & never, ever lets up.Queen of the '88s is a real pleaser as it has Kelley telling us a little bit of her history & how she got to be the boogie woogie mama that she is!No one can sing & play that piano like she can - very, very powerful & clear whether it be rock n roll, the blues or gospel. And getting help from the great Mike Finnegan is just an added bonus.Check it out - people from Kansas can rock with the best of them anytime! And go to a concert when she comes to town - you won't regret it for a moment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Play that boogie-woogie!

5-0 out of 5 stars BB King at his best!
I have been listening to this record for over 25 years, BB:s tone on this record still strikes me as it did the first time I heard it. One of BB:s outro:s in one of the medleys on this record is a fantastic value for the price paid for this alone. You can hear a young BB play really loud and strong making his amp sing in fantastic overtones on this one, not that nice and sweet studio tone. The two artists, BB and Bobby, works very well together and if their first record together was Bobbys, this is definitely BB:s.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Combination
BB on Lucille and Bobby on vocals is a great combination. The two compliment eachother's talents.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fine, but not as good as their first
This is a reprise of the wonderfully successful first album these two did together. It is worth having not only for their obvious enjoyment working together, but for the terrific job in "Let The Good Times Roll". Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must!!
I'll keep this review brief. This CD is nothing less than a Blues guitar statement. One like few others! An absolute must for Blues fans, period! Five stars are not enough for this CD!

1-0 out of 5 stars F for bad sound
Well this is a total F for sound.I have 3 dif 3 cd players, home, port, and car, and yes they are good ones, car is a Q45 with a Bose. I bought this CD because of the reviews I read here, what is everyone smoking?or is there not that good of stuff avail from Albert?I don't own any other CD's, but I do know about him from the SRV Sessions VHS I have had for a few years, and it sounds pretty good.
5-0 out of 5 stars can't get enough of it
Wow.I just came across this CD for real cheap, and boy was I glad I got it.I have listened to lots of blues players of different types, and the guitar of Albert King is amazing, especially on this disc.I have his In Session CD live with SRV, which was a really strong CD, but this particular CD presents a better sound of his guitar, in my opinion. It sounds sweeter, more well-rounded, powerful, diverse, and dead-on.I really love Albert King's work, and I always wish songs like "Blues Power" and "Blues at Sunrise" were much much longer because this type of slower blues has the sweetest licks.Get this CD.It radiates such warm, positive energy. ... Editorial Review

Walter Trout is not about tastefulness and subtlety--he is about ferocious intensity, exhilarating speed, and raw energy. This double-disc set (at single-disc price) presents Trout's complete, unedited performance from the March 2000 Tampa Bay Blues Fest (where they say he upstaged headliner Susan Tedeschi), and it is truly a thrilling ride. Running on adrenaline after a sleepless day and night traveling, Trout rolls through heavy blues rockers, slow 12-bars, soulful groovers, and even a Dylan cover. To be sure, this is pure blow-your-mind, "guitar god" kind of stuff that many blues purists may not enjoy. There are definitely times that Trout's incessant over-the-top style becomes slightly tedious, and there's not much in the way of originality, unless you count the fact that few others are even capable of such supersonic licks and unearthly tones. Still, despite the lack of a truly distinctive sound, Trout's ability to consistently fan the flames is amazing, and his voice, while not on a par with his guitar, is passionate and powerful. If you are a fan of pedal-to-the-metal electric blues-rock, few can match Trout in terms of sheer dexterity and drive.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Walter Trout Melted My Stereo
This CD is a blues/rock guitar-driven 4th degree assault on your ears. If you are looking for something to brush the cobwebs out of your skull, this is it. Someone told me this was God's favorite CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars new discovery
I knew very little of Walter Trout before I bought this disc. The man is an amazing guitarist that reminded me of a cross between Roy Buchanon and Frank Marino. Gary Moore, Stevie Ray and Snowy White move over and make room for Walter Trout to stand proudly amoung you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Slow down dude
I finally picked up a W.Trout cd after years of reading about him. He is no doubt a talented guitarist. My problem is, (and I know most will say WHAT), I think he continually plays too fast. After awhile its like the solos all just blend together into one long blur. I really don't care for his vocals either. I think the best song on the album is Walking in the Rain. Great riffs and tone. To me there is only one heir to the throne of SR Vaughn and he is............Jimmy Thackery. Pick up Sinner Steet or Drive to Survive. Both are awesome.... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Blues, blues, blues
What can I say, Bobby Blue Bland and BB King. messin' around on stage. A great interplay of two great bluesmen just having fun.
5-0 out of 5 stars two alltime greats are better than one
Is there anything better than B.B. King?Only when he's with Bobby "Blue" Bland.Great.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Intimate Evening With The King... Mr. B.B. King
If you enjoy the live blues scene, you'll love this piece. You can almost feel the ambiance of a dimly lit, smokey blues club. Poor yourself a mellow bourbon, light up a fine cigar and enoy a laid back evening with the legendary blues of Mr. B.B. King & Bobby Blue Bland. The bond of these two long time friends is obvious in their free-flowing dialog and makes for a comfortable evening of easy listening. This release has been somewhat overlooked throughout the years..... share it with your friends. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A superiaor rockin' blues band
Well this band Rod Piazza and the mighty flyers, have mroe in common with boogie beboppin' swing, then blues, but this genere is now being referred to as "Rockin' blues", and Piazza a talented harmoica player, who really makes his harp rock and wail, does rock good enough to attract a rockabilly crowd following.Honey Piazza(Rod's wife), is the real treasure of the band, adding boogie woogie rockin' piano riffs, that are out of thsi world.a great cd, a rockin blues band, and yes you can dance rockabilly style to this band!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost like being there
I have seen this group perform twice at an intimate club in Mishawaka, IN.They are awesome.Words cannot describe how they get the joint jumping.I am looking forward to seeing them again.I see they are due to return to Mishawaka and also play at Buddy Guy's in Chicago.I will definetly be there. This CD captures as well as is possible how great they sound.I have played it over and over and still get goosebumps when I hear Rod blowing that harp and Honey slamming out a boogie. 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Awesome Awesome
I used to play this CD all the time until it was stolen from my car (along with many other CD's).I have been looking for it ever since and am very happy to have found it.Play this anytime you need to be energized! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does Get Much Better
I recently bought this for $5.00 used. I am afraid I feel like I stole something from the shop steward. This disc is amazing from start to finish. A mix of blues, stunning solos, jazzy tunes. It's crisp, clean and Ronnie Earl at his very best. No one who has reviewed this has come away with anything but glowing kudos; 12 sensational offerings, one better than the next. How could this end up for $5.00? It's worth four times that much.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jaw dropping
This record is stunning. Inspired and inspiring. Among my all time favorite modern blues recordings. Just awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars what it takes
Ronnie Earl is perhaps the most adept at the "blues balencing act": Where personal style and well assimilated roots/knowledge come together as the continuation of the music's development. This is all too rare in a field filled with rote copyists and 'creative' players who sound like blues was more of a commercial choice than a musical one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wish I Could Have Been There
Albert King and SRV appeared on the Canadian TV show 'In Session' and the result was incredible. The music itself is really good, with two great musicians playing the tunes they loved. But it's the dialogue between Albert and SRV that puts this over the top.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Jam Session Well Worth Listening To...
Albert King was always overshadowed by BB King and thus never received the credit he deserved for the way he shaped how the electric guitar is played. This is true not only in the blues but indeed in all styles of music. Modern guitar players who look back with a sense of fondness for players such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Paul Kossof, etc. would do well to consider the man who so strongly influenced their playing as well as countless others. (Including bluesmen Otis Rush and Albert Collins: already distinctive stylists in their own right.) And perhaps no other guitar player was as influenced by Albert King as the young Texan Stevie Ray Vaughan.
