5-0 out of 5 stars Cheshire Cat---the best album
The songs are great! Especially Carousel and wasting time. I love the intro of carousel. I always wanted to hear that intro in one of their concerts, but it never happened. Oh well!

3-0 out of 5 stars hmmmm........
These are the exact same songs that are on Buddha. Buddha was way better, but this album still rocks......A little......
4-0 out of 5 stars blink is punk
alright many people say Blink-182 is not punk and i say those people can F*** OFF.this album is punk belive me i know punk my favorite bands are Bad Religion, Sick of it All, Black Flag, G.B.H., Hatebreed, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, NOFX, and The Circle Jerks.now i will admit these guys sold out after Dude Ranch but thats okay.now this is punk-pop but sometimes it is on the edge of those two things.sometimes it even slips over to the pop side of things but most often it is punk.with songs like sometimes, touchdown boy, and does my breath smell make this album a good punk-pop album.they address some very big punk-pop issues like girls, Tv, and jacking off.all the songs are fast, funny, and just over all good.so dont give Blink-182 s*** before you have really listened to it.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
this is their best cd. evening out and take this to.. are the besst. afer that, with cork tree, they just became loser sellouts. this one is the best because pats voice is different, and i think they had 5 people in the band. plus i'm a huge fob fan, so i have like everything, so yeah
4-0 out of 5 stars Illeagle CD
i have been a fall out boy fan since before this cd came out and i love the music on it. however when fall out boy put this record originally the record label (uprising records) screwed them out of their money and this re-release was not done with the permission of fall out boy and is just an attempt by uprising to make money after fall out boy's succes with from under the cork tree. the band never talks about this cd like it doesnt exist.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I agree with Dick. These are songs of when they just started out, and you can see how they have improved along the way of making these albums. You can really tell that they've worked hard. BUY THIS! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great great great album, but.....!
first, i love this band and this album is a total classic and takes me back a few years. i would put this album on par with rancid 2000 and life wont wait. it defiantely is not as good as out come the wolves and their debut. i dont think any rancid album could be worse than indestructible.
5-0 out of 5 stars Let's go-go-go!!!
I am a Clash fanatic who was tired of the lack of punk music from the 70's and early 80's. I saw Let's Go bought it and put it in my car CD player. I listened to it every day for a week and absolutely loved it. At first I was skeptical but man is it catchy. Some great songs and lyrics if you can understand them. But hey its not about clear vocals....The bas lines are awesome and almost rocka billy in some places but it all works. Classic tracks include Harry Bridges, Salvation, Radio and Nihilism but in a way all the songs have merit. I am still playing this CD on the way to work and it gets me ready for anything the day can bring on. I am glad that even an old punk rocker like myself can still be revved up by music.
5-0 out of 5 stars Rancid's Best, Question about Earlier Post...
to anybody reading this review new to rancid, get this album, along w/ wolves. really if you just think their okay, you could stop collecting their cd's. however if you really like them i suggest getting every album you can from them except maybe Indestructable...i downloaded that one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blows everything out of the water!!!!
Dude Ranch makes EOTS and TOYPAJ look like the worst albums ever.Except for the blink's self-titled album, the record beats everything they have ever done.I was entertained through out the whole album and every song was as good as the last, particulary "Emo" which actually reminds me of some of Jimmy Eat World's old stuff. The guitar is actually really good compared to blink's other records (i.e. Degenerate, I'm Sorry, Waggy) though it definately isn't anything close to something like Jimmy Hendricks or Van Halen, but who cares :)To sum it up, your blink-182 collection is not complete without Dude Ranch!

5-0 out of 5 stars Still sets the bar after all these years
It's been almost ten years now since Blink 182 released Dude Ranch (oh God, I'm getting old!) , and yet it still sets the bar for what a pop-punk album should sound like. While "Enema of the State" may have sold more albums and truly made Blink 182 a household name, many people were introduced to Blink 182 via the radio single "Dammit (Growing Up)".While many simply placed the cd back on their shelves after they played that song out, many others discovered that they were quickly falling in love with Mark, Tom and Scott and the rest of the "punk" rock movement of the late 90's.While I'm sure Tom Delonge's voice was an awful shock to many who purchased Dude Ranch after hearing "Dammit", older fans as well as new recruits were addicted.Dude Ranch starts off with the best formula Blink had to offer; Mark and Tom trading off vocals over a fast punk rock beat.If "Pathetic" didn't/doesn't do it for you, you should probably put down the cd.However if you find it hard to wipe the smile off your face, you'll find out that the rest of the album is truly a punk rock classic."D*ckips", "Apple Shampoo", "Emo", "A New Hope" and "Josie" (which had some small success as the follow up to Dammit)are my favorites, but their are really no bad songs on Dude Ranch (although I don't usually listen to "I'm Sorry" anymore). This is the last time Blink 182 would sound this way for an entire album. Scott Raynor would leave the band and be replaced by the more talented Travis Barker, but whose drumming is truthfully less "punk rock" than Scott's was.Tom's vocals would become overproduced, and Mark's catchy little bass solo's would become almost non-existent.I'm not sure how this album comes or will come across to those who discovered Blink later in the band's career, but I can speak for all of the older fans when I say that Dude Ranch is a true classic, that can never be replicated or replaced.*****

4-0 out of 5 stars One of blink's best
I'll admit that blink 182 is NOT true punk.True punk and catchy are two words that aren't supposed to mix.But I still feel that they are good musicians.Another thing that I get sick of is hearing how they are rip-offs of Green Day.Green Day hadn't even gone mainstream yet when blink formed (1992).

4-0 out of 5 stars Great ... not so great for greatest hits
I first would like to say I am not an avid fan of The Offspring but I was familier with some of their songs. This album really should contain more songs, especially since the one disc can hold many more. That being said, all the songs on here are great, but I do expect a little more from a greatest hits album ... Where is Bad Habit?

4-0 out of 5 stars Offspring Rocks!!!
And so does this compilation. It has most of their hits and features 1 previously unreleased song, a song that was previously only available on a soundtrack, a remix of the "The Kids Aren't Alright"(atleast the european version has it) plus a hidden track! Ofcourse you could say that there could have been more songs on it and some essential songs are missing, but thats the nature of greatest hits compilations. There isn't a single greatest hits compilation out there that doesn't suffer from the same problems. And the songs that are on it are all either good or great so you can't go wrong with this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Offspring, Greatest Hits

Editorial Review

The debut album from The Subways proves that for a man approaching his seventies, Glastonbury’s (UK music festival) Michael Eavis has excellent taste. Eavis plucked The Subways’ demo from a pile of demos and pushed this young trio--frontman Billy Lunn, his girlfriend, bassist Mary-Charlotte Cooper, and his brother, drummer Josh Morgan--onto the 2004 festival stage.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Soaring
I haven't heard them on the radio. (++) Hip UK band with a good mix of talent being shown on the CD. (5*)The Subways rock hard from start to finish, and they're live shows are astounding. It's no surprise that the singer needs to temper singing before he explodes. The bassist also at 110%, loaded with teenage energy.A talented bunch of kids, the drummer gets me going with his hopping beats.Everybody loves their energy but I'm soaring on the winds of She Sun, Somewhere, and Lines of Light every day. A moment of maturity whilst Young for Eternity.

2-0 out of 5 stars Thought it was better...
Before buying the album I only heard 1 song. When I heard the hole track list I was disappointed. They sound like a lot of other things that are out there, so If you like the "same" sound over and over again you might like it.
4-0 out of 5 stars My New favorite Band
Although, the whole album isn't full of amazing fast songs they're are alot of amazing songs that you can't get sick of. I'm don't love the slow songs on here (they're ok) but the fast one's like "holiday," "Rock and Roll Queen" "Young For Eternity" and my favorite "At 1 A.M." are songs that I listen to every day sense I bought the album 4 months ago. I can't wait for another album. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is looking for something fresh in Music. I love the way Billy, Josh, and Charlotte play and the way Billy and Charlotte share vocals. But if you wanna see this band at they're best definatley see them Live, they have more energy on stage than any band Iv'e ever seen. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot Album Alert!!!!!!
Don't make the mistake of underestimating McFly - this boy band from the UK has delivered an exciting second album."Wonderland" has gone to number one in the UK, as did their first album "Room on the 3rd Floor".
5-0 out of 5 stars Watch Out!Here Comes McFly!
McFly are a great British pop band.I have been a fan of McFly since their debut album Room on the Third Floor.I couldn't wait for their new album Wonderland to come out, and I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it for the first time. This young band (all aged 20 or younger as of the album release) is exceptionally talented for their age.Amazingly, they write all of the lyrics and music themselves.Impressive?I would say so.All of their songs have a unique style that I just can't get enough of!Rarely do I find an album in which ALL the songs are good. The tracks on Wonderland range from cheerful melodies to touching ballads to some good ol' rock n roll.Since I believe each song deserves to be mentioned, here's an individual song rating:
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding second album from a truly special band
"Wonderland" is the second album by McFly, and just like the brilliant first "Room on the Third Floor" it lives it up to it's high expectations. Every song on this is a classic from the hits "I'll Be OK" and "All About You" to the outstanding "Memory Lane". This really is an essential album, I really hope the boys find success in the US, they truly deserve it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bbest part of this collection is that they skipped any filler
I think we can all agree that the only good Offspring songs are the one's they play on the radio. Finally you can have them all on one CD. The best part of this collection is that they skipped any filler, such as rare or new tracks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff for the whole family
I love how Me First and the Gimme Gimmes put a punk rock twist on some good classic tunes. Whats more surprsing is that my mom and my step dad love them too. Scary huh? These guys are great, they make songs rock and more fun than they were before.

5-0 out of 5 stars Me First and The Gimme Gimmes
Punk reworking of standard rock classics and show tunes is OUTANDING.The vocals and guitar work are great as is the sense of humor the boys put into the album Good stuff!Great for parties.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun idea - Hilarious Song Selection
These guys surely did "Have A Ball" putting this recording together. The idea's a great one, and the song selection is so twisted that it either had to turn out GREAT or fail terribly.Luckily it is the former, and being a musician myself I would have loved to have been in the studio for these sessions.I'm sure it was a party start to finish! The only reason it didn't get a 4-star rating from me is the fact, that for me, it isn't something that would stay in the CD player for long periods of time. But it is a great idea carried out very well by what sounds like a bunch of fun lovin' guys! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Album
I have 'In the Wake of Determination' but I think this is a solid album.Every song is performed well and they're all extremely well written. The stand out songs are: 'Until The Day I Die','Anthem of Our Dying Day','Sidewalks',and 'Swallow the Knife'.This is a great punk/hardcore album and Story of the Year is one of the best bands out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Prettydam good
this album intorduced me to story of the year, not the new wake of determination which i find pretty disappointing. this basically got me into screamo (not too intense - stuff like the used and silverstein). overall its a very good album, not perfect but pretty dam good. it only took me one or two listens to get into it and there are no songs that are too bad. and the hero will drown is AMAZING.. the perfect song in my eyes... excellently timed screaming, beautiful guitar, pretty good lyrics. if in doubt just download songs 1 through 3. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Ma, ma
Not as good as Vertigo, but still a great album to have in a collection.Tracks 3 and 4 are particularly great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Back to basics
I've been a fan of Jump (formerly Jump, Little Children) and followed them locally prior to their release of Magazine in 1998. Their music before that is undoubtedly the best, but Magazine sacrificed the band's soul for greater popularity. Since then (which many original Jump fans consider the sellout point of their music), the band has been gradually pulling themselves up by the bootstraps. Vertigo was understandably more somber, but reached back to their roots stylistically. This most recent album maintains the more mellow feel of Vertigo, but the music is more upbeat and the songs are some of the most beautiful the band has ever recorded. But I still long for jig-worthy tunes like many of Jump's earliest, including Opium and Easter Parade. That said, Jump is one of the most underrated and impressively talented groups I've ever heard. Whenever a Jump song pops up on my iPod playlist in the car, friends ask "who is this?" With the delicious variations of their style, there's a Jump song for everyone's playlist.

5-0 out of 5 stars A New Timeless Masterpiece
Very few albums in history have accomplished what this does. It's amazing to me that every single song on it is not a #1 smash single. The musicianship world-class, the compositions brilliant and the production quality just what a studio album should be. Jump, Little Children has been billed as a 21st century rock band and this work unequivocally proves it. I haven't heard music this good since the Beatles. I have to to force myself to listen to something else.

Editorial Review

Every generation of high schoolers needs a band to express the angst and agony specific to 14-to-18-year-olds. At present, that band is the Offspring. Their songs are aimed squarely at a younger crowd, from "The Meaning of Life" to "Leave It Behind" to "I Choose," and especially "All I Want" and "Change the World". Their occasionally insightful lyrics are anything but obscure, which is actually refreshing; there's real pain behind "Gone Away," and "Way Down the Line" taps into the common fear among the younger crowd of turning out just like our parents. Musically, the Offspring are hardly complex, but then complexity isn't a requirement. This is music to play at full volume, bang your head to, and annoy your neighbors. Cool. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Release, Similar to Smash's style.
Each Offspring album is a bit different in its own small way. Although, this is the one probably most like their breakthrough masterpiece Smash. If you enjoyed Smash a lot, like I did, then this should be the next in line for you to try out. Not saying that their newer stuff is somehow not as good, they just have a slightly different sounds that the earlier two. This follow up just shows how The Offspring are keeping their punk rock style sound strong with each release. It's also a really good follow up album. My favorite tracks are probably "Gone Away", "I Choose", "Amazed", and "Me & My Old Lady". Here's everything else rated...
3-0 out of 5 stars average...large decline gets started.
ignition, smash, and self-titled are amazing albums!...but what about this? the follow-up to smash....not nearly as bad as the dreck that came after this album, but nowhere near as good as anything before.
5-0 out of 5 stars awesome offspring album!
this has got to one of the offspring's best CDs, next to smash, and ignition! some of the songs like: "me & my old lady", "mota", "cool to hate", and "don't pick it up", are kind of wierd, but the other songs are awesome! some of the best include: "the meaning of life", "gone away", "i choose", "amazed", "all i want", "change the world", and just all the other songs that i didn't say was weird. the intro song is awesome, because it's spoken by jello biafra - and dead kennedys are like one of my favorite bands - so that's a huge plus! i think this is like more of an expiremental re-make of smash, and i'm just glad they didn't over do it, they just did it right. so anyways, if you're new to the offspring, you might wanna start with smash, or ignition, so you can get a better taste of their true sound. but if you already know who the offspring is - get this now! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Album Ever
No joke... seems extreme. But this is the best album from beginning to end I have ever listened to. Its orchestrated in a way that feels incomplete if you don't listen to the whole cd. I started listening to it religiously in 1999, it's 7 years later and it still is the album that recieves the most play in my playlist. Clarity is unparalleld rock and roll.

5-0 out of 5 stars A J.E.W. masterpiece even Hitler would have loved.
While I am a fan of every Jimmy Eat World album, Clarity is easily the most meaningful and sonically beautiful experience they have ever laid to tape. Originally released in 1999, J.E.W.'s Clarity helped lay the groundwork for many of the bands I enjoy today (for instance, just listen to "Your New Aesthetic" and tell me that Brand New's Jesse Lacey didn't have this album lying around while writing Deja Entendu). In my opinion, Clarity is one of the most underappreciated albums to be released within the last ten years as every aspect of this recording is near flawless. From the gorgeous vocal harmonies and melodies to the layered string sections, this album just exudes brilliance. Much time was spent in the studio perfecting every track and it shows as each song is an epic ride, taking the listener through various moods and emotions that are at times soothing and energetic.
5-0 out of 5 stars Its beautiful
I'm not going to explain the songs here. I'm not going to list the high points and low points of the album (as if there were such a thing). I'm simply going to say - I've had this album for a long time now, and when I first got it I was obsessed and worshipped every speaker it played from. I listened to it tonight for the first time in a while, and all I could do was cry.

2-0 out of 5 stars ew
i heard buried alive by senses fail and thought it was amazing so I thought maybe the rest of the CD would be too, but helll no. I was really wrong. This is garbage. I couldn't stand listening to this CD. I will never buy a senses fail CD again. Plus i saw them at bamboozle and they sucked!

4-0 out of 5 stars A straight-up review for anyone curious about Senses Fail....
You know, I was scrolling through the reviews of a few bands and I came across the Let Enfold You reviews page. I got to the point where I was like, "No one's gonna know what the hell they sound like, because it's emo bashers and brainwashed emo-fans who can't the difference between their 'favorite' bands." So here we go, an unbiased straight up review from a fan of Cartel, The Showdown, Underoath, 311 and DMB :
3-0 out of 5 stars Worth a chance...
While not all the songs are great, Let it Enfold You isn't a horrible album at all. Sure, there are a few songs I skipped through, but overall, it's not as bad as some make it out to be. For a 2 month period, this album was stuck in my CD player. I eventually got over it but I still enjoy listening to it at times.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite cd of 2003-2004
This cd is one that I played almost everyday for about a year. The first time I heard it I was blown away. It has great guitar playing, lyrics and vocals. Everything is just seems to be perfect. Dustin vocals match the lyrics' intensity and the rest of the band play at the same level. "Under a Killing Moon" and "Paper Tigers" were my favorite songs to begin with, but once I started reading lyrics all the songs became favorites. "Artist in the Ambulance" should have been a hit single if Island would have done their job right. It's a shame this album didn't go platinum. I think Coheed and Cambria record outsold this cd and it's nowhere near as good IMO. Anyways their new one "Vheissu" is pretty good but the guitar playing is not as good. Still check that one if you like them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quite a piece of work..
This album was the begining of a extraordinary experience for me.That being the band thrice. This is the first Thrice album I heard.Actually, I had only heard one song when I bought it, that being "All Thats Left."I usually don't buy albums based on hearing one song, so I don't know why I bought this album. Anyways, after listening to it, it was different that what I had expected to hear, but I was not disapointed. In fact, I listened to it alot at work the next few weeks, and it completely blew me away.
5-0 out of 5 stars hard and powerful
It's a path that the band is traveling down. Each album is becoming more and more dynamic. This was the first album that I bought, after hearing the band on a local college station. After getting into the band I picked up Identity Crisis, and just recently Vheissu.I still feel that Artist is probably my favorite. The title track is especially powerful and dynamic. The emotions show through and it's easy to see how this is not any kind of superficial song or CD.Highly recommend this CD and any others that you can get your hands on. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Band and worst cover
Other bands have performed covers of Joy Division and most were pretty bad. The cover that fallout boy made of Love Will Tear us Apart is just plain crappy. The singing just sucks (for any songs by fallout boy), not even close to being as good as the original. The cover is a disgrace to Ian. If you want a good version hear the original.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Amazing, Simply Wonderful
    The CD:
5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Acoustic CD
To the last reviewer, perhaps this is the more sensitive side of Fall Out Boy, but is that necessarily bad? Their acoustic stuff is AMAZING, or are you too obsessed about whether this is "real" punk music or not? Honestly, doesn't it matter more the MATERIAL IN THE CD, not the LABEL? Everyone has their own opinions on music and I'm going to express mine....

    Editorial Review

On this second album, these rockers from Austin, Texas, demonstrate a flair for perfect mid-'60s pop epitomized by the Kinks and the early Who. The opening track, "The Way," was an early break-out hit for the trio, but the entire album offers similarly uptempo serenades. It's a surprising direction for a band known for its hard-rocking live sets, but an early clue of their fondness for romantic hokum came on their remake of Bacharach & David's "This Guy's in Love with You" from 1997's Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Miles Rules
I've been a Miles fan since 1984-87, when I watched him learn to play guitar and caught some of his first gigs ("We're from France.")Even though he wouldn't let me into his first band because he thought I could sing too well, he was a strangely likeable great guy, even when he was a jerk. It's because Miles is a smart, funny guy - a huge Woody Allen fan, a huge fan of Spinal Tap.I couldn't believe he dropped out of school to be in a band!Man, he could have amounted to something someday.Fast forward 11 years while I'm slurping down coffee in my tiny apartment trying to get to work and - oops, who's that on MTV?
5-0 out of 5 stars The best of FASTBALL
This is the best album ever for Fastball. Wish the newer one is better but it wasn't.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice ear candy !!!!
In a world where most artists assume they have to produce noisy, discordant, and non-melodic fodder for the equally beguilled public these guys are a nice retreat.

5-0 out of 5 stars So excited!
This cd starts out with "The Truth", a great song with awesome fast and screaming guitar riffs and superb vocals by Matt Theissan. His voice and musicianship is getting better with each appearance. Then, "Apathetic Way To Be", Dave Douglas their drummer sings lead while Matt proves his lyrical brilliance with his play on words: "The half of me is all about apathy, and the other half just doesn't care. Yeah, being apathetic's a pathetic way to be." After showing that they can truly rock they give us 3 acoustic versions of three hits: Be My Escape, Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet?, and Overthinking. They finish with 2 soft songs that I have come to love.Things are looking insanely awesome if they keep this up for their next album due on February 6th, 2007

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing cd...
This cd is just a taste of whats to come for Relient K.And frankly, it can only get better. As their last release "Mhmmm" was quite amazing, with clever and witty lyrics, tunes that rock your sox, and with a god centered message about life in it's self and such; Apathetic Ep is one of the best ep's you will ever hear. They pack so much in with alot of acoustic guitar and piano, but give you just a little sneak peak of what's to come with , "The Truth" and "Apathetic Way To Be"."The Truth" is now probably my favorite K song at the moment. It combines their creative lyrics with an amazing change in tempo and tune.I give this cd a amazing two thumbs up!If you don't have, "Mhmmm" you should definetly buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Relient K rocks all the way
These songs are some of the best. Not to punky but rocks anyways. Lyrics rock, tune rocks, it all rocks ... Read more
