5-0 out of 5 stars Classic
This kinda reminds me of the way saves the day had their sophomore effort which blew up and became popular. The mixing is about the same. Every Second Counts does not compare to this album. This defines their sound and original composure. They kinda varied off into commonville with the release of Every Second counts, but this release, is distorted enough to not get annoying and crafted beautifully. The pop nature of Plain white t's is becoming popular and this album is one of the contenders in that category. And to set the record straight, there is only one acoustic number on here and it is Hey There Delilah.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Acoustic
I really, really love this CD. I was hooked indefinetely when I heard "Hey the Delilah".
3-0 out of 5 stars Buy it if you've already got their other cd.
"Hey there Delilah" is the obvious standout on this one. The rest of the album is also good, but it's the reason to keep it in rotation. If you're debating which album to buy, go for Stop and come back for this one later. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This soundtrack is just like Heaven!
I love most of the songs on this soundtrack!!! Spooky, colors, just like heaven by Katie Melua, and I've got a spell on you are my very faves! And this movie was just awesome, It's the kind of movie that makes you feel good, and I just love movies like that.

5-0 out of 5 stars "....Dancing in the Deepest Oceans, You're Just Like a Dream...."
Fans of the Cure will no doubt disagree, but I like Katie Melua's cover of their "Just Like Heaven" better than the original. (Both versions are in the movie and on this CD.) Melua's soft voice and the guitar work are sublime, and the lyrics, which are kind of lost in the Cure's version, come to the fore in Melua's.The lyrics are also given more meaning after you connect them to what happens in the film, which in my opinion was just about the best movie of 2005.

Most bands that come from Nashville wear cowboy hats write songs about punching their horses. No such problems with the Pink Spiders, who at an early age sound like they traded in their Oak Ridge Boys CDs for the complete back catalog of New York's mid-'90s garage rock revivalists, D-Generation. 5-0 out of 5 stars My New Obsession
I love this CD. It's soo amazing. I bought it the day it came out and listened to it a lot and then I bought a couple more CDs a couple weeks later, but I just kept coming back to this one. I can't even describe it's amazing-ness. It's like a combination of some retro influenced rock with modern touches. I also read an article on them in AP and they were so fabulously cocky (in a good way of course!) that you can't help but love them. I love every single song on the album! I'd do a rundown of the songs and rate them, but they'd all just be 10/10, so what's the point? I will tell you that my favorites are:
5-0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously catchy
This album is by far the most infectious record I've come across in quite a long time. After the first listen, I only wanted to hear it again.I was excited to hear new versions of some older songs ("Soft Smoke," "Modern Swinger," "Hollywood Fix," and "Little Razorblade"), and I was even more excited to hear the new songs. It's hard to pick one favorite song on the album, but if I had to pick one, I would probably pick "Still Three Shy."
5-0 out of 5 stars TPS are awesome!
Being a big fan of The Pink Spiders for a couple of years now I was super excited to pick up their new release. And I love it!Although a couple of my favorites ("Modern Swinger" and "Little Razorblade") were on the album "Hot Pink", I still dig the new material. For a little personal touch...I was one of the first people to hear "Little Razorblade" played live so I guess it's got a special place in my heart.:)Anywho, I totally recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of fun music that you can dance like a fool to.And definately to any TPS fan who doesn't own the album yet.The Pink Spiders aren't out to save the world...they are just out to have some fun and you can certainly tell that they do!

Cute Is What We Aim For's 5-0 out of 5 stars Cute Is What We Aim For Gets it Right
I have been a fan of CUTE since October of last year and I've waited in anticipation for this album for months. It didn't disappoint. The only song on this album that I have a complaint about is 'There's a Class for This'. I LOVED the demo of this song. The CD version, however...not so much. The addition of William Beckett was an improvement, but the polished quality of it totally ruins the feel of the song.

...will buy anything with the J word in it won't you?!Even the band they are ripping off is terrible in the first place.Pathetic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stellar Kart is STELLAR
I love Stellar Kart so much!! They sound like Relient K and Hawk Nelson mixed and i love both of those bands.

2-0 out of 5 stars Let Down From "All Gas, No Brake"
First of all, nobody can argue that Stellar kart is defining boundaries in music. But that's not what they set out to do. This guys are pop punk, and with this album, much more on the side of pop. The effect on his voice (it's definitely not raw) gets old fast, and adds to the lack of distinguishable traits that would make their songs unique. Most of the second half blends into a one big piece of pop for me. But I do like Stellar Kart, I really enjoyed their first album, it was much less produced and much better, in my opinion. So from a fan that enjoys MxPx, Relient k, Hawk Nelson debut etc, I would not recommend this album. The first is much better, and it is money worth spending. And I definitely do not agree with the below reviews statement that it beats MxPx And Relient K's latest album. And the blink 182 reference doesn't make sense with me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Twee as cluck
Ah, this is a great album. Very feel-good. Contains some of the most rampant catchiness allowed to run around on a disc. Frontman Justin Pierre's voice reminds me of Cedric Bixler on large, large amounts of barbibtuates. His is an extremely pleasant singing voice.
5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, the album really is this good...
This is one of my all time top 10 cds, along with 'I am the Movie'. Motion City Soundtrack is one of the best bands out there, and i think everyone should at least give them a fair chance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bright Futures
This is only the second Jimmy Eat World CD I've bought, and I was expecting the upbeat, pop success of the Bleed American CD. I was, happily, disappointed. The word 'deep' is a cheap, unworthy description of the amazing, brilliant new lyrics by Jim Adkins. I'm amazed at his courage in writing songs that are obviously of such painful and private content. Bravo, Jim! It's impossible to explain the genius of this CD, except to just listen to it yourself and get lost in the brilliant mixture of lyrics and driving rhythms. It's a wonderful, heartfelt piece of music.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, but not their best.
As a die hard JEW fan, of course I love everything they put out. This might appeal more to the newer fans, but my favorites will always be Static Prevails and Clarity. Still an amazing listen though, JEW never fails to deliver and all of their releases, be they full albums or EPs, are always worth every penny and then some. They're one of those bands that changes their sound on every record but still retains what made you love them in the first place, and that's really refreshing in these days where the majority of music on the radio is stale and nothing new.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Cd is one of the best out there

Editorial Review

Good thing we live in an age of internet-accessible lyrics. Otherwise, millions of teenage girls might find themselves mumbling through this collection of burn-the-joint-down pop instead of belting it out, which will be not only their first instinct but also their feverish, feverish desire. As a flip through about any teen magazine confirms, the Veronicas are a pair of identical twins from Australia who ooze coltish charm, volatility, and an aversion to jugheaded songcraft. Their debut does not belie the glossy claims: "4ever," the single leading the flock, crashes the gate with a punk-slanting, slightly Avril Lavigne-y boy tease, and though the energy stalls a bit on sleepers like "Speechless" and "Nobody Wins," it more than resurrects itself with the smart lyrics of "Secret" and the lathered-on boldness of "Mother, Mother," the most smokin' track Lindsay Lohan never sang. Part Bangles, part Benatar, and all babe, the Veronicas have crafted a 12-song bender that crushes the short-skirted competition. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE AWESOME CD!!!!!
I remember the first time I heard 4ever and I hated it. I really dont know why though, for some reason I just couldnt like it. But after seeing the video many times on Mtv Hits and hearing it on the radio I slowly started to love it. I finally gave in and listened to the cd at a local cd store that lets you listen to cds before you buy them. I was completely stunned at how good the cd is. They really can sing and sound awesome together. The blend of their vocies at times sounds soo good it sounds as though its one person but then they break and sing the verses and you can tell its two completely different girls. My fave songs on the album are When It All Falls Apart, 4ever, Everything I'm Not, Secret, and Leave Me Alone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Shows Potential
Down under natives "The Veronicas" caught my attention with their single, Revolution. Had it not been for hearing that song by mistake, I'd have never even known they were making music. Revolution was catchy enough to make me want to buy the record, although after listening to it the whole way through, I'd have to say it was probably a mistake to do so. Unlike Avril or Skye Sweetnam, The Veronicas tend to hold back on the pop-punk energy (omit Revolution and 4ever), making for a somewhat generic listen. Another gripe I have is with the lyrics. They honestly could have been written better by a first grader, and that is NO lie.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome...
I just recently bought this album and I cannot stop playing it on my cd player. The songs are catchy and fun to listen to. "4ever" is a fun song that makes you want to dance and "Speechless" was done amazingly especially when we got to focus on the girl's voices. "Mother, Mother" was one of the songs that I did not particurlaly love but overall the rest of the songs is awesme an if you lover rhe Rock/Pop genre then I definetely recommend this to you. ... A hit single can be a bit of a mixed blessing for new bands, especially if said song gets you firmly lumped into the "novelty band" category. Such was the case with Weezer, whose runaway hit "Buddy Holly" touched a global nerve upon its release, then got on everyone's nerves after months of radio saturation. However, it did ensure that they sold millions of copies of their self-titled debut. Which is why it's so strange that their second album, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Fav
I know that this album did not recieve good reviews from music critics, but it is by far my most favorit album, my next fav is the blue album.I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

5-0 out of 5 stars No snazzy title for me
This is a great CD! First of all when I bought the cassette (yes I said cassette) it must have gotten lost or something because i didn't listen to it or even remember owning it. Anyway when I came across it again about 4 years ago it would often stay in the cassette deck (yes I said cassette deck) for days. Usually when a CD is done (yes I own a CD player now) I eject it and don;t listen to it a second time in a row because I just finished it. Pinkerton (along a select other few like Willie nelson's reggae album "Countryman") can play over and over because it goes by so quick because I'm having so much fun singing and rockin' out. I'm not a huge weezer fan and am not sure I'd even call myself a fan. However I do own 4 out of the 5 albums. Pinkerton is my favorite and have barely listened to the Green album and Maladroit more than 2 times and don't really even know what the singles are unless I read all the reviews (which is what I was doing for Pinkerton when i decided to write this). Anyway I'm a DJ with VERY diverse tastes (just so you know where I'm coming from).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bands = Great Album
I really like the remixes on this album because I already love the songs by all the bands and it was nice to hear a different sound for them. I was just a little bit disappointed when only 3 of the songs were in the movie (and one of those songs was in the background)! But I think it is amazing and that you should buy it because it is well worth the money!

5-0 out of 5 stars Snakes On A Plane....Good but I want the Score
I love this soundtrack. Its great. The songs are catchy and fun. Its like a delicous melting pot of goodness. I like Starship Cobras song the best. But I cant belive that out of 10 reviews I have seen there is no mention of Trevor Rabin's Score. Now I like Trevor Rabin's scores like The Great Raid which was a nice change from the typical Media Ventures synth Orchestra elements. But what it really want is the score to Snakes On A Plane. I saw the movie and it had some great action cues like went they were landing the plane with those fast strings. And the tense cues during the apearance of the snakes on coach class. I like this soundtrack with its compilation of good songs but ill hold out till they realease the score. I mean that would just be a waist of a 67 piece Orchestra if no one else can here the Great Trevor Rabin SoaP score. So in conclusion. COMON Varase release the score.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stranger to Danger.
The album itself is ridiculously fantastic. The movie is absolutley way more than anyone on the entire face of the earth would ever think. The movie was really well done and it was a surefire action movie. It actually had parts when I was feeling queesy because of the suspense. My heart was racing a million times a minute.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolute pop-punk classic
1999 was a crazy year. Everyone was getting prepared for Y2K. Everyone was out seeing Star Wars Episode 1, Toy Story 2, and The Sixth Sense. It was a year of popstars (Britney Spears, N*SYNC, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys) and rap-rockers (KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock), but among them came a little punk trio of guys in their mid-20's singing teen anthems along to simple, catchy, energetic music that would inspire hit music for years to come. That band was blink-182, the band that created tons of hits, inspired millions of teens to start bands, and popularized the term "pop-punk", and it all happened with this album.

Just Adam's Song makes this cd worth getting. It is the best song I have ever heard. Besides from it, there are other good ones on the album. All The Small Things was the first blink-182 song I ever heard. I don't understand what it's about, but it is really good. A pop rock band with a violin?I'm sorry, I just don't get it.It's not like the band sucks, they're good musicians if you're into that poppy sound, but the violin just confuses me.There's a time and place for violin in rock music, with an ensemble arrangement for example, but not solo.IMHO.

At first listen BFS sounds like a great power pop band with catchy lyrics of self deprecating humor. After a couple of listens though you'll realize they're really just a cheap rip-off of Fountains Of Wayne, who instead write really smart/funny lyrics, great power pop hooks and awesome arrangements.
5-0 out of 5 stars we'll convince the world to sing la la la la la...
i've finally found the most cheerful rock album ever :)
4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
I was very pleased with this CD.The songs are amusing, yet with emotions behind the words.A Hangover You Don't Deserve has songs so different that it's hard to believe that they came from the same band; no matter your style, you are sure to find something that you like on the CD and will probably like everything on the CD at least somewhat. The melodies are great and each unique, just like the lyrics. Some are serious, yet whether funny or melancholy, each is bursting with emotion. This is certainly one CD that is possible to both laugh and nearly weep while listening to.All in all, A Hangover You Don't Deserve is truly amazing, a superb mix of sorrow, hilariosity, remarkable lyrics, amazing melodies, and uniqueness to boot! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars "Let Go" of Your Shekels and Buy This CD
I'm a latecomer to Nada Surf, and now I rue the lost time I could have spent replaying the songs of this excellent cd. LET GO is funny, plaintive, poignant, but not syrupy. Just when the material seems a bit melancholy, the next song is confident and upbeat.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Mellow Rock, For The Most Part
I think somebody compared Nada Surf to Toad the Wet Sprocket. I think it is a fair comparison. Most of the songs are mellow, guitar based numbers with a few faster songs thrown in. One of the latter types is "The Way You Wear Your Head" which is the reason I bought the CD. It's the best song on the CD in my opinion and one of my favorite all-time tunes. It may be an easy, pop-hook tune, but what's wrong with that? It's fun as heck!! Another song, "Hi-speed Soul" could very well be a Toad the Wet Sprocket song."Treading Water" is another faster paced song with good hooks. The rest are good, fairly mellow tunes which I enjoyed. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Album!
This has got to be one of the best albums I've purchased in a while. It is definitely worth every penny, quite refreshing.

3-0 out of 5 stars When all thats left is the feeling that you've heard this before
Quietdrive 'quietly' flew under my radar for the longest time. I had not even heard of them until last week, when the song "take a drink" caught my attention and got me interested.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Pop/Rock record
Good record. But unfortunately the quality of the tracks fades a bit towards the end. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day are LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!
Green Day in my opinion were one of the greatest groups in history!
5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day-Punk NOT Posers
This is by far one of the best cds I've ever heard. My favorite from Green Day. My favorite song ever is Castaway. People that are calling Green Day posers really need to stop. Wow, they tried something new! Let's sue them!!! NO. They've been a band longer than I've lived on this planet. (no, I'm not from outer space...I'm just 12) Green Day teaches people to be who they are and that they shouldn't be afraid to show some self respect. Take Minority for example-Stepped out of the line/like a sheep runs from the herd/Marching out of time/to my own beat now-They want you to show your individuality people! Have those haters of Green Day even heard their music? Have you given them a chance. Wow, you hear one sample of a song-maybe-and you think they suck. THATS NOT GIVING THEM A CHANCE!!! Stop trashing, start listening.
4-0 out of 5 stars Green Day's Warning
WARNING: is a major progression in the sound and style of the punk rock band: Green Day. The players still had the grudgy and edgy sound of guitars, bass, and drums. Excpet this time around, the band had obviously searched for a further progression in sound. At times, the band is accompanied by horns, harmonicas, strings, mandolins, and it greatly improves the originality to Green Day's performance. Joel still leads the band with his gritty vocals, but at times he adds more heartfelt lyrics than he has ever done in the past. It is the beginning to his path in expressing his personal and political thoughts. The band itself is well formed and play together remarkably. WARNING: is the record before Green Day's major breakthrough as a politcal rock band, and an album you have to hear.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of Flogging Molly
When first listening to this album, many first reactions may be to say that this isn't as good as Swagger or Drunken Lullabies. I thought the same way. But then, after going through the CD several times, I found myself coming back to this one over and over, far beyond Drunken Lullabies. Overall, the intrumentation is phenominal, far beyond the other two albums. The melodies range from soft and soothing (Wanderlust, To Youth) to drunken lullabies style awsome (Tobacco Island, Seven Deadly Sins) to haunting and emotinally chilling (Spoken Wheel, With a Wonder and a Wild Desire). Overall, an intense and amazing album.
