5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I bought this cd during the summer and haven't stopped listening to it since. Before this band i was stuck in this rut of mainstream pop, rap, and hip hop that i really couldnt get into. But this album made me look at music through a new perspective. (yah i know thats cheesy but thats the way it is...) The lyrics are so relatable and melodies catchy. William Beckett's voice is absolutly amazing thats one of the reasons this album is so great. It just grabs you emotionally and you need to hear more. When i play this cd i play the ENTIRE thing all the way through which is crazy for me cuz i haven't been able to do that with any cd for many years. There is a negative to this album and that is that its too short. Seriously.
5-0 out of 5 stars Overall amazing
I picked up this album at my local library after listening to 'Checkmarks' on my friend's ipod. I liked the song, but I wasn't sure how good the rest of it would be so I didn't want to spend money on something that might turn out to be bad. But as soon as I listened to it, I rushed out to Best Buy to get a copy. Believe me it was that good.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good band
Okay, they are good. But they aren't anything special.

Editorial Review

Three albums into Tegan & Sara's career, it's still somehow necessary to get a couple of facts about them out of the way before diving into their latest offering. They are, yes, identical twin lesbians, and they do occupy the space--more like a vacuum, really--between the riot-grrl menace of Sleater-Kinney and the un-fun folk of Indigo Girls. That out of the way, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Girl Love: Viva La Tegan and Sara!
I bought this album because I caught a bit of "Walking With a Ghost" on an indie rock radio station and I scribbled it down in my little book of "Artists Worth Giving a Second Listen To".

I bought this cd for Walking With A Ghost but I was amazed to find out the whole cd was awesome.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sadly disappointing
As a long time fan of Placebo, I must admit, I was expecting something more. Something different than...well, different than this. I don't know what I waz expecting, but after hearing the double CD Sleeping with Ghosts and the incredibly intricate remixes of the second CD of remixes, MEDS feels like, just the same old thing. Been there, done that.I was hoping for so much more.I can't say this was a horrible album, it wasn't. It just wasn't new enough and exciting enough for me to give a better rating. Very lackluster contribution to an otherwise phenomenal discography of a great band, who wasn't unable to live up to its greatness this time. Hopefully next time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

4-0 out of 5 stars Have you taken your "Meds"?
"Meds" has to be one of the most pleasant surprises of the year for me. Not because it is another strong record in Placebo's all ready consistant canon of work, but because after a greatest hits compilation and a "vacation" from each other a few years back I figured the band was going to go the way of the buffalo, call it a day and persue the ever wonderful solo projects/ new band that, hey, you know, always works, right?
5-0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Drug
Brian Molko and his "two husbands" Steve Hewett and Stefan Olsdal have gone back to their roots for their newest release Meds and the results are spectacular. I've been a rabid fan of Placebo from the moment they released their first album.

Green Day managed to produce another great heart pounding punk-rock gem. You get:
5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day Rocks in Concert!
After seeing Bullet in a Bible on FUSE, I knew that I needed to get this CD/DVD. Some may disagree with Samuel Bayer's choice in camera changes during the movie but I personally didn't find any problem with it. It sort of captures the spirit of the band itself, coming at you from many directions and you never know what's going to happen next. Green Day is AWESOME in concert and this DVD is evidence of it. From Billie Joe's crazy antics in St. Jimmy to his heroic and heartfelt performance of Wake Me Up When September Ends, Green Day shows it's versatility as a band and their highly polished skills as musicians/entertainers.
4-0 out of 5 stars Green DayBullet In A Bible(Live Album)
This is a great album 14 songs 65:36. All of the songs are live for one thing. Green Day makes realy good LIVE albums. I realy like the part where they introduces a band named Green Day at the end of Brain Stew or Basket Case. But otherwise it is realy great, especilly if you are a true Green Day fan. Whats great about it is you get alot of the new songs but you also get some of the songs from older albums like Nimrod, Warning, Shanegins, and Isonomic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Power Pop & Boy Band
I never have thought that one day I will find a group that gathers a Power Pop sound (Like the 90s bands like Fountains of Wayne, Sloan, Weezer, Tories, Drowners, Semisonic, Teenager Fanclub or 70s bands like Badfinger, Marmalade, Stealers Wheel, Big Star) with the energy and life of a boy band (showing high energy sound like the first Beatles releases).

1-0 out of 5 stars COME ON NOW
Honestly who in their right mind gives these guys a record deal. They are a true example of the MTV music video money gubbin record producers world of music. I mean these kinds of bands are destroying the music world. I can prove it first of all these guys songs are not meant to appeal to the music fan they are to appeal to girls so that they all will come to their concert and become groupees so they can have sex. They don't feature any instrument whatsoever. There is no such thing as an instrument solo and if there is it's just a rif. And third of all the lead singer for Fall Out Boy sounds excactly like that of Panic! At The Disco. That just goes to show you how copycat the music industry is. In the world of music every great band has a sound that makes them unique from everyone else. They also show off their musical talent alot. Fall Out Boy does not do that which is why I am givnig this 1 star.

4-0 out of 5 stars Once again, Great Sound, (Good) Lyrics
My purpose in highlighting (good) lyrics is that the lyrics are NOT as good as the sound. They are occasionally quite catchy, and sometimes even worshipful, but most of the time these guys are singing in metaphores. WHY OH WHY! But I am definately impressed with the mature musical sound these guys have developed, and semi proud of their lyrics compared to complete ride the fence bands like "Switchfoot."
5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun, depth, and great music on a tiny disk! Rock!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Offsprings' Best Release To Date
The Offspring has always been a fairly unique band. Even today they still are able to produce good sounding punk style music even with all of the mainstream radio and emo punk taking over the airwaves. Back then, in 1994, Instead of going up against bands like Nickelback or Fall Out Boy they were up against Alice n' Chains and Nirvana and still managed to sell a great deal of albums. Smash is probably the best album they have ever put out. The overall sound of everything on the album is just great. It's its own masterpiece. Just one big energetic, angsty, skate punk attitude album. I love the whole thing. Although, my favorite tracks would have to be "Gotta Get Away", "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem", and "Smash". Pretty much everythings amazing though. Here's what I think of each track...
5-0 out of 5 stars Will always be a smash!
Ive been listening to this album for what feels like forever. and i still analyse the songs and relate. For those who know the offspring and what there newer albums have to offer please for the love of god check this out and it will be a life changing experience.. then thank me! After all who else writes legendary lines like "if you look away, you'll be doing what they say, and if you look alive you will be singled out and tried" i mean who? Also(going off the album) you get a cance to see them live, the atmosphere created is one of a kind.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE OFFSPRING'S BEST!
this has got to be the offspring's best album ever! with the classics "come out and play", and "self esteem" this IS a classic! "gotta get away", "bad habit", and "nitro (youth energy)" are a couple more of the great songs on this CD. so if you're thinking about listening to any of the offspring's albums - this should definetly be your first choice! the songs in the beginning are better than the ways later on the album.

It's amazing how Green Day never release a dud album. Sure, everything between Dookie and American Idiot was largely unpopular. But if you ignore the critisism and actually listen to some of these albums, you may well be suprised if you have your doubts.
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Nimrod is a very good album by Green day. It has alot of good songs. My favorite and what i think is one of their greatest songs "time of your life" and it is the best one on the cd. It is overall a decent Green day album.

5-0 out of 5 stars Promosing Future For This Band..........
It definitely took me by surprise. each song has a purpose.... and yes she can actually sing!, and best of all it doesn't sound forced like those wannabe fem artists ex: hillary duff, ashlee simpson.... you get the idea!) i feel that the success of the band will rely more on what they are willing to push instrumentally, and from what i'm hearing they are definitely headed in a promising direction... i beeen listening to bands like emery saosin, and this band definitely is holding it down, but most of all showing a real female artist coexsist with the music, rather than cram it down our throats... can't wait to see what is more in store!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, I too am in love with this adorable singer
Ok, lets get past the fact that this girl will turn out to be the next gwen stafani - she's smoking hot. The music rocks too, the lyrics are heartfelt, they are not as cheesey as they appear to be, this is a solid release. 16-years-old, right at the prime of the suffring years - perfect for songs that tug at your heart strings. The whole band is talented. The song structures may be basic, but damn they get stuck in your head. And they sound just as good live - this girl can sing!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't Get Excited, It's Just An OK Album
I really had high hopes for this CD.I really did. After hearing Emergency a few times I was hooked and decided to buy the CD.I wasn't looking for anything revolutionary, or even anything unique.I just wanted something catchy.Plus, the sticker on the jewel case said that it was like Jimmy Eat World with female vocals so I was totally on board.

Emo-rock band Jimmy Eat World exemplify all that is the modern radio rock sound. Singing and playing with a conviction and sincerity that will melt the heart of even the most stoic of listeners, they produce rousing, well-crafted anthems along the lines of Third Eye Blind at their roughest or a more polished Green Day. These guys appear to be able to write ready-made singles at the drop of a hat, as evidenced by "Your House" as well as the title track. In fact, there is a rather shocking maturity to their material that belies the band members' ages (all in their 20s). While they sometimes veer into cringe-worthy power-ballad territory, overall Jimmy Eat World give the people what they want with Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Emo Album Ever?
...That's a good question! Thus begging the question, what are the best Emo albums?Well The Green Album has to be noticed, Weezer's influence on the genre to obvious to ignore. The Used gets several votes, Ocean Avenue not far behind, Panic!'s debut deserves some recognition for its current popularity, All Killer No Filler's inconsistent but a classic...Any more?Well sure if you count American Idiot, From Under The Cork Tree, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, and a few other wannabes but are those albums really quality? No.So is the commercial break though and best ever effort from one of the new millenniums most talent artists the greatest Emo album in existence?I say yes.Nothing beats `Bleed American', a new age anthem in the prestigious vein of `One Step Closer' and `Crawling In The Dark.'And with `A Praise Chorus', `The Middle', and of course everyone's favorite, `Sweetness', Jimmy Eat World has three of New Rock's grandest and most memorable songs.Even softer numbers `Here You Me' and `If You Don't, Don't' (which by the way, has excellent lyrics) have a special something that sets them apart from other mangled Emo ballads (i.e. the new Dashboard album). One complaint common among JEW fans is that the second half slightly lowers the quality bar;in other words `Cautioners' and `The Authority Songs' lack the quality of the anthems in front, thus creating some filler allegations. There are two problems with that argument:First, what songs are as good as `A Praise Chorus' and `Sweetness'?Not many period.Just because `Lounge Act' and `Drain You' aren't as good as `Teen Spirit' and `In Bloom' doesn't mean that they are filler, and it certain doesn't mean that Nevermind loses its impact during the second half.Because after all, what's as good as `Teen Spirit' and `In Bloom'?And secondly, it's not true anyways.I enjoyed the second half just as much as the first, especially after the first few listens where I just played the first three songs over and over.In the end, Jimmy Eat World has timeless classic written all over it.Classic Rock for the Emo generation.

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 stars for the third album.
This was the first cd by JEW that I bought little knowing that they would soon become my favorite bands of all time. They have a very soft way about them that can only be explained as brilliant. The closest comparison I can come up with is a more diverse, mature, and stupendously lyrical version of Death Cab for Cutie. It is amazing that they were this far ahead of their time when they were about 21. If you haven't listened to this album, I would very strongly consider this to be your first JEW album and then get the better CD clarity. But for you who have listened and are curious about my favorite tracks, here is a list of them:
5-0 out of 5 stars Who cares about the genre?
alot of peoples reviews have been moaning about it being an emo album, or a pop album. I dont know if it is pop, punk, emo, pop-punk, punk-emo, all i know is that this is a very underated album. there are no songs on this album that i want to skip, it has slow and fast songs, and catchy guitar riffs(i think the word im looking for is riffs)so all in all i think if most people listen to it with an open mind they will enjoy it. if you start slaging it of before you have even heard it, the you wont ... There's a lot to be said for continuity and high concept, and Coheed and Cambria have invented an elaborate geeky parallel sci-fi world that spread over four CDs. If you follow the story line, it unfolds like some punk Harry Potter series; equally ambitious and didactic and almost as tightly written as the Moody Blues' "Days of Future Passed." You can also listen to each of the albums without a thought about the story and marvel at the musicianship, the intricately layered guitars, Claudio Sanchez's overwrought and rather pinched vocals and the sheer imagination displayed by these four musicians whose idiosyncratic emo seamlessly flows into prog rock. Epic, surreal, bigger than life, and utterly unlike anything you've heard in decades--even Geddy Lee expounding on free will. -- Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars 3.5 Actually
This is a pretty good album. I'd have to say that this is my favorite from this band and the production is top notch, allowing every element their space within the mix. I still find the lead singer's voice a tad annoying. It's got that munchkin meets a warbling bird (tons of vibrato to his voice). I like the overall super-geek concept of the band and the songs. I also like the little touches of sound design used throughout the album that give it more of an epic feel.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good Apollo I'm Loving this Album
Coheed & Cambria and their whole series of adventures might seem a little geeky. But hey everyone has a little geek in them! Second Stage Turbine Blade (Technically the second album, the first album will be released as a prequel) was very good also and simmiliard to Good Apollo, then came in Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, which was also wonderful but less so than the follow up album Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: From Fear through the Eyes of Madness Volume I. Yes! Volume ONE!. There will be a TWO which makes the cd total five not four. This album included many wonderful songs a few leaning more towards Led Zeppelin style rock such as the song Welcome Home. Other good songs are Ten Speed, Crossing the Frame, Apoll I and II, The Suffering, The Lying Lies and Dirty Secrets of Miss Erica Court, and The Final Cut all very good songs. Believe me, even if you have never listened to the other albums buy this one! It will get you hooked! (A note: It really does not deserve its explicit lyric label. The album only swears briefly.)

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums out there.
Coheed and Cambria's 3rd effort is, without question, a master piece. After displaying more of a pop-rock oriented sound with "In Keeping Secrets...", the band returns to more of the sound displayed in "Second Stage..."

4-0 out of 5 stars More great stuff from Yellowcard
The hard stuff is some of their best. Kind of like later Journey, they focused a bit too much on the slower side, but the album is a great listen. Song #4, "Sure thing falling" has one of the best guitar riff intros I've ever heard, but you are sorry to hear it end as the song softens up, but the album is a good one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mature
I like the little more classic sound on this album, I think that it's a very mature album by Yellowcard.
4-0 out of 5 stars I loved it!
If any of you have heard the last CD Yellowcard made, then be prepared for a different sound. Ocean Avenue is a lot different than this new CD. The Lights and Sounds CD was a great CD. I'm gonna rate the songs in my opinion.

Weezer, those geek rockers who topped mid-'90s charts with those oh-so-precious pop fables "Undone (The Sweater Song)" and "Buddy Holly," were almost undone by 1997's bombastic Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but the synapses are already there
Weezer know what you like because you have heard it before.I guess in a way I would give this 3 1/2 stars. It really is just a continuation of their debut. They could package the two discs together and you really wouldn't be able to tell they were done 7 years apart.
5-0 out of 5 stars 100% Fun
There has been much debate among critics and fans alike as to which Weezer album is the best. Although not often cited as Weezer's best, the Green Album arguably offers the goods more than any of their other albums in the category of basic rock n' roll fun. This by and large is because the melodies on the record are of the highest order. The melodies here not only are more consistent than those heard on the other Weezer albums, but superior to just about any album released in the last decade. While some might dismiss the album as nothing original, very few artists carry out the pop/punk style as good as Weezer. Catchy pop/punk songs such as the ones demonstrated here will never go out of fashion. In fact, the album often reminds one of a distorted Beatles.
1-0 out of 5 stars Uhmm...
What a waste of time and money. 10 songs and hardly 20-30 minutes... of pure mediocrity.

5-0 out of 5 stars My opinion...
I'm not going to lie I wasn't a huge fan of this whole album when I first listened to it the day it came out.I had heard four or five of the songs previously (live or on compilations) and liked all of them, but some of the other so
