Look, I loved Fallen. If I want to hear these songs then I'll listen to that.Frankly they are not the greatest band when playing live.I love the band, but I say stick to the studio albums.I only bought this to have the videos from fallen.I'd suggest you do the same.

    1. Evanescence: Excellent live performance.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have For Those of you That Love Evanescence
There is no question when I tell you that Amy rocks out loud live! She definately knows how to work the crowd. During her performance, she and the rest of the band do a KoRn cover of "Thoughtless" (which I LOVE) and also perform two other songs not found on the U.S. version of 'Fallen' including Breathe No More (from Elektra soundtrack) and Farther Away (from the Bring Me to Life Single and/or Jap. version of Fallen) Of course, any true Ev fan would already know all of that info. The dvd includes the entire live performance, all the music vids from Fallen, and some behind the scenes footage of the whole band. (Some of it is really funny) A great buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kurts Finest hour
I was rather sceptical on buying this album since I already had the session on tape but being the huge Nirvana fanatic that I am I decided to purchess this album anyway. This is very easily one of the finest live albums ever recorded, not only does it capture the bands sound in a whole new light but it also captures Kurt Cobain as a performer at his most vulranble and bare best.
5-0 out of 5 stars My Girl - Where Did you Sleep Last Night
This entire album bears the soul of Kurt Cobain, as did most of his work. However the last song, Where Did You Sleep Last Night is a dying persons testimony to a system that is demented.Take a look at the video. Its like the remenants of his soul went into the ending of this song.

    5-0 out of 5 stars WORLD-CLASS
I've never been much of a fan of "Alternative" music but this album is stunning. The band really shows everyone they are real musicians and artists. Kurt Cobain was a powerhouse of an entertainer and an open channel of emotion. This album is a fitting farewell.

5-0 out of 5 stars You haven't heard John Mayer if you haven't heard him live
The best cd(s) I own, by far. I bought this in 2003 and was blown away. I am not a big fan of live cds and was not a big fan of his before this, just joined a music club and thought I would get it. Needless to say, I have now seen him live 3 times and am amazed each time. His guitar playing is beyond amazing on this cd. The singles he releases do NOT show this. Trust me, get this and you will not be sorry.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good introduction
For those who know John Mayer only from the radio, this is a good introduction to a live atmosphere. He's an excellent musician foremost, who also knows how to perform.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ear candy
An absolute delight to the ear. John Mayer's music makes this rock and roller glad to finally hear some new music that will become as valued as all of my old stuff. His vocals and guitar are topnotch and a sheer delight. I have now started to include him in all of my playlists. This CD is a good way to introduce yourself to this powerhouse of tunes. A definite must have for all music lovers. Some or at least one good thing comes from Alabama. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Outside It's America...
This is one of those albums that you just keep coming back to. Here it is almost 20 Years Old (!) and yet, it's solid. If you don't have this album then you've probably been listening to Kelly Clarkson or Justin Timberlake. If you don't have it, pick up a copy, and if you do have it, turn it on and turn it up LOUD!

5-0 out of 5 stars "[Inside] It's America"
'Rattle and Hum' ranks with the all time best live and double albums of rock and roll.Although there are a few mistakes with the tape acetate in the recording, giving it a shimmering effect that wasn't intended, it hardly mars this fabulous recording. The C.D. showcases the best of their music and harnesses it to a live performance. However, there are new studio recordings as well.Nothing is extraneous and much of it is hypnotic, powerful, or both.
2-0 out of 5 stars Overrated and Pretentious--It Really Hasn't Aged Well
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out and did like it more than I thought I would based on the reviews and having expected a really terrible set of tunes.I even bought it on Laserdisc after getting it on tape and the soundtrack on CD because there are a couple gems on there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
The 10,000 Maniacs have been around since 1981, and it has been a great ride. This album came out in 1993, and features Natalie Merchant's excellent vocals. The band survived Natalie's move to a solo career, and she has done well on her own, but I must say that this album is when they all reached their absolute peak! With the excellent instrumentation and Natalie's beautiful voice, this is a great album to listen to.
5-0 out of 5 stars A surprising little find
It's amazing what you can find buried under a pile of junk in the local as-is Goodwill. Sometimes you can find near mint condition CDs, such as "10,000 Maniacs Unplugged." That's exactly what happened to me a few months ago.
5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite live album
I have never been a fan of live albums because most live albums seem to have audio problems and at times it seems like the vocalists can't even come close to what they are able to pull off in the studio. This album is an exception and in this case I actually enjoy the "unplugged" live versions better than the originals.I think a lot of the 10,000 Maniacs albums of the 80s suffered from what a lot of albums suffered from which is being just WAY over produced. I don't think a band like this should have ever been given the glossy shine their albums were given back in the day. Here we have a chance to hear the band as they actually sound in an intimate live environment that if it wasn't for the fact you hear the applause between tracks you wouldn't even know it was recorded live.I think another thing that helps this album is Natalie Merchant's voice has matured quite a bit at this point and is now much more pleasant to listen to.I think this has also benefited her much in her solo career. If you like what you hear here I would recomend Natalie Merchant's two disk Retrospective. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Fine live collection but why now?
It's been four years since Counting Crow's last studio album "Hard Candy". Since then, tille has been heard from the band, other than the occasional live touring. That was the case again this summer, when Counting Crows combined forces with the Goo Goo Dolls for a long (and successful) co-headlining trek.
4-0 out of 5 stars For lovers of Counting Crows
Of course if you love Counting Crows, you are obligated to get this CD. It's nice to hear some of the "old school" songs like Perfect Blue Buildings and Omaha, and there is some newer stuff as well. I was expecting more than a less-than-three-minute new release (Hazy), but even his old stuff is slightly different than what is on the other CD's. Given that this is a live CD Adam of course changes up his songs (as he always does at his concerts). I can never get enough of this band, and I would highly recommend this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars This huge Crows fan loved it
I've been a fan of Counting Crows since I was 12 when they debued in '92. I have EVERYTHING they've ever done and this is yet another great edition to my collection. Adam Duritz' insomniac groove leaves me craving more. You can't say that these guys are "wicked awesome" or that they "totally rock out" cause thats just not their groove. But on a nite when you want to know that somebody else out there can't sleep and wants to eat ice cream on the couch, its good to know you can pop these guys in and sing along. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatness Defined
AllI can say about this CD is WOW!! This is one of the legendary bands to come out of the "Grunge" era. This CD has everything you could ask for in an acoustic set. Stanley's vocal power is not lost even though he is in a durg induced haze and a downward spin that would evenually cost him his life.Jerry Cantrell's guitar play is in a word Awesome. It is too bad that Stanley had to die before Alice came into the greatness they so richly deserve. I would highly recomend this CD to anyone who loves Alice in Chains as well as people that realy enjoy acoustic sets.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I remember when this came out. I thought it was late into the game because it was 1996 and grunge was over. Looking back on it now 1994 and 1996 wasn't a huge time difference, but when your a kid its eternity. Excellent album.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Alice in Chains "Unplugged" is my favorite MTV Unplugged. It was recorded, as you all probably know, after a three year hiatus from the stage. Even though vocalist Layne Staley wouldn't die until six years later, he looked strung out and weak throughout the show. That doesn't keep him from delivering a powerful vocal performance though. While I recommend the DVD over this, because you see the outtakes (like when Staley messes up on Sludge Factory and Mike Inez's message to Metallica written on his bass guitar). While there's a few songs I wish they would've done on this show, there's none that I would get rid of. There's nothing off their first album (Facelift), but there's plenty off their next three (Dirt, Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains). This is a great CD to burn some insence to in the dark and just zone out. Here's the tracks:

5-0 out of 5 stars wilco songs come to life
If you are a fan of Wilco, and especially if you have never seen them live then you must own this cd! With a set list based largely on "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and "A Ghost is Born," you might not think of buying this. YHF is a love-or-hate album, and maybe not the best intro to this band since it's more experimental than their previous work. But the songs really come alive and take on a new dimension when they are played live. Wilco is a really tight band. I had always loved them but when I saw them live for the first time (twice in the same week in New Orleans on the Ghost tour,) I was blown away. The first few times I heard Ghost, it fell a little flat, maybe because I had anticipated it so much and it didn't seem to have quite the same edge as YHF. But hearing the Ghost songs live has really changed my opinion and now I love that record equally, if not more than the other Wilco records. Certain songs really jump out as my favorites here: "Misunderstood," "Via Chicago," (a song they have played countless times but this version really grabs me...) and surprisingly "Company in My Back" and "Hell is Chrome," 2 songs I hadn't thought much of before. I'm going to see Wilco again very soon, thankfully they are on tour again! If you can't catch a show, check out this record, it will give you an idea of why their live shows are so acclaimed.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this band
This is a great live cd which showcases the amazing talent of the band.
5-0 out of 5 stars As good as being there
This album clearly defines why Wilco is the best band touring today or any day. The connection that Tweedy makes with the audience is crystal clear, as is the harmonious instrumentation that this current line-up display. Each musician in the band is a virtuoso in his own right, and Nels Cline sharp guitar is a welcome addition indeed. I usually don't like live albums, as the audience noise is a distraction, but it is clear on this recording that the audiecne was too much in awe to get in the way. ... Read more

Green Day managed to produce another great heart pounding punk-rock gem. You get:
5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day Rocks in Concert!
After seeing Bullet in a Bible on FUSE, I knew that I needed to get this CD/DVD. Some may disagree with Samuel Bayer's choice in camera changes during the movie but I personally didn't find any problem with it. It sort of captures the spirit of the band itself, coming at you from many directions and you never know what's going to happen next. Green Day is AWESOME in concert and this DVD is evidence of it. From Billie Joe's crazy antics in St. Jimmy to his heroic and heartfelt performance of Wake Me Up When September Ends, Green Day shows it's versatility as a band and their highly polished skills as musicians/entertainers.
4-0 out of 5 stars Green DayBullet In A Bible(Live Album)
This is a great album 14 songs 65:36. All of the songs are live for one thing. Green Day makes realy good LIVE albums. I realy like the part where they introduces a band named Green Day at the end of Brain Stew or Basket Case. But otherwise it is realy great, especilly if you are a true Green Day fan. Whats great about it is you get alot of the new songs but you also get some of the songs from older albums like Nimrod, Warning, Shanegins, and Isonomic.

These guys are the biggest joke in rock music. All of these 5 star reviews are an even bigger joke. Ed Kowizsychik(SP) or however you want to spell it sounds as pathetic as he looks. This is garbage, plain & simple. Im glad radio is no longer saturated with their music. 20 years from now, no one will remember this group.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
Okay, so the last track is a little weird, maybe I just don't get it. But this really is a phenomenal CD by a woman to whom the Britney's, Christina's and other blonde bimbos could learn a thing or two. Suggest to anyone that's a fan of the Blues, Gospel, or just good rockin' music. Enjoy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Neko wuvs tigers - awwwwww
There are a few songs here that absolutely make me hair stand on end, it's unbelievable. The first track is true perfection and evocative of a great, epic western soundtrack. Then there is the fantastic old time country gospel of This Little Light which is electrifying. As far as sound quality: if anything, it adds to the "classic" feel found in vintage live recordings of the 70's. It's good AS IS. What is it about tigers that resonates with Neko? I envision a day when she performs these songs on stage with live tigers going berzerk in cages on each side of the stage. She could walk up to one of them, and the tiger would flash his paw through the bars, angry that he/she is being subjected to the loud noise, the audience. She could even bring a stool and sit next to the caged feline and serenade it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Her Best
Of all her albums (including Fox Confessor...), this is the best. First, it's staggering that her voice can be as amazing live as it is on the studio albums; really, it's something special. Second, her 'magnetism' comes out much more in the live recording than it does in the studio albums. When I listen to the studio albums I feel like something is missing; what is on this album is exactly what's missing. It's like the difference between a Grateful Dead live album versus a Grateful Dead studio album (well, maybe not that severe, but you get the point.)

3-0 out of 5 stars Not sure what to say
This is a good live recording, but owning better live bootlegs of hers, and having attended better concerts of hers makes me wonder who decided what got put in this release and why?It took me a long time to shell out the bucks for this, and had I read the reviews on Amazon first, I probably would have spent the money on something else.Lucinda still makes me weak in the knees and I'll still buy the studio stuff and certainly keep going to the shows. The Fillmore might be legendary, but her performances in Houston far exceed what transpired on these San Francisco nights.

5-0 out of 5 stars Astonishing...
When I first heard "Change the Locks", I could not believe my ears. This is one of the most thrilling live recordings I've ever heard. Yeah, her singing is raw and yet you can hear every syllable. Just the way she sings "change-the...CAAAARRRRRRR I drive" blows my socks off.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Most Disappointing Album
I like Talking Heads.I have liked them since 1983, when Speaking in Tongues rocked my world.I have all of their records. I routinely defend David Byrne against the hipsters who despise his very existence.I have known and loved "The Name of This Band is Talking Heads" since I was in graduate school and played it on the tape loop in my volkswagen.
5-0 out of 5 stars Their best live set
When this was released on double LP twenty years ago, it offered an incredible overview of the Talkinh Heads live. Indeed it covers the early years up to the Remain in Light-era big band. Musically it is much more interesting that the Stop Making Sense soundtrack. The sound recording is maybe not as nice and Byrne's singing is not as polished. The playing is however much more strong. However the set represented is overall much stronger and it is also quite evident that the Remain In Light band was the best line-up simply. Songs such as The Great Curve are simly great and these versions are actually the definitive ones in my opinion. Rhino has again done a superb job by adding may songs to this beautiful CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Intro to Talking Heads: 101
Long time Talking Heads fan here. I had this on tape years ago and finally bought the CD - without question the best Talking Heads recording available. If you're new to the Talking Heads, this CD should be your "Intro to Talking Heads: 101". Having seen them numerous times in the '70's when in college in Providence, this CD truly captures the live energy and emotion they were known for. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars LIVE; an anthology of an uncompromising artistic movement.
I loved this anthology; especially the difference in selections between the DVD (what an extra, especially for those of us who missed the brief eras when LIVE actually had videos in circulation on MTV/VH1!) and the CD.The former reflected more video-related hits (a far different media than radio),while the second reflected the radio hits, and therefore there were some different offerings on display.I especially enjoyed the alternate video for 'Turn My Head', as the originally released offering never to my mind captured the spirit of the song the way this alternate does. That, and you get to see Ed with HAIR!!!That's a novelty in itself, man!The new offering, 'We Deal In Dreams' was a nice teaser for what sort of music would be oncoming with the new album 'Songs From Black Mountain', while the Johnny Cash cover was a nice tribute and a good rendition, bringing out some melodic/lyrical qualities to the song that I would never have noticed in the original. The duet with Shelby Lynne in 'Birds of Pray's 'Run Away' was well-timed and very much heightens the impact of the song, and the alternate video for 'Heaven' was such a different interpretation (I would not have chosen that song as the main single from 'Pray', opting instead for the powerful and raw 'SHE'...but that's just my personal favourite from that album) helped me to get over the overexposure of the radio-play of that song to where I could enjoy it for itself. The inclusion of the 'Mental Jewelry' songs helped many folk realize there was life in LIVE before 'Throwing Copper', and established a sort of lyrical and musical continuum for the band that was missing before in many perceptions; so these were a great inclusion.
5-0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing!
This has got to be one of the greatest cds ever! Live is one of the greatest bands in the world and this cd captures all of Live's energy, beauty and art. The dvd with their videos is reason enough to buy, it covers their hole career so far with some memorable clasics and some relatively unknown videos. Live's music is one of the very best examples of what alternative music should be, and this is "Live's best" so, it's a must have for any true music lover. Excelence as far as the ear can listen!

5-0 out of 5 stars The most complete greatest hits you'll find for any band
A bit of a disclosure: this is my favorite band.Naturally, I love the music. But I was thrilled at the length and breadth of this collection. The DVD and the CD cover much of the same ground, but in very different ways.If you pick this one up without the DVD, you're really missing out.I've been lucky enough to catch Live "live" once, and the DVD is the next best thing to being there. This is an amazing live band. For what you can buy this for here, you absolutely cannot go wrong. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Done. Train at their Best.
Alive At Last was actually the first Train CD I owned. And quite frankly, I'd prefer them live to recorded any day. The band seems to be having a lot of fun performing and it makes you get in a good mood as well. Some people are complaining about the audience, but I think it makes the CD that much better. The vocals are dead on, for the most part, and there are some songs you can't help but dance to.
2-0 out of 5 stars Slightly Disappointing (2.5 stars)
As a whole, this is a fairly solid album. There is a definite tangible energy flowing throughout the entire live portion of the album.Train demonstrates that they are just as capable onstage as they are in the studio.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great listening!!
I saw this band on a TV New Year`s Eve show singing at The House of Blues in Chicago. Now I`m a big fan!! I chose to buy this CD for my first "Train" experience. There will definitely be more in my future. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't See Them Live?Buy This.
So we all know that a CD can't replace the live experience, but this one definitely withstands the test of time. The recording values are unparalleled by other band's live sets and the song selections capture the band's adventurous ethos from the first second. From the opening radio static of "The National Anthem" to the the final acoustic fade-out of "True Love Waits," this album surprises almost every time you listen to it, both in the ways in which Yorke & Co. complicate the original studio versions and in the performance abandon which they bring to their songs; you can hear it coming from the speakers.
5-0 out of 5 stars There are two colors in my head
While this may just be a release of live songs that have already been released, it is a must have in my opinion. The songs that I like best are; Like Spinning Plates, Everything in It's Right Place, and Dollars and Cents. The live versions equal or better the originals. In many cases I feel they are more powerful. True Love Waits is also good. I'm not sure what release if any that one is from.
3-0 out of 5 stars Average Live Recording
I hate to flame a Radiohead release because OK COMPUTER and KID A are two of my all-time favorite albums by any group, however, this live release regrettably exposes one of the weaknesses that bands who rely on heavy production in their studio albums, namely, the inability to reproduce that sound live.

With a slate of more than 200 shows a year, Ben Harper has never been an album-tour-album-tour kind of artist; for him and his fans, the stage is the ultimate proving ground. So after four studio albums, Harper has finally released his first official live set, a 25-song double-disc collection that surveys each of his four albums and adds a couple of well-executed, if not terribly inventive, covers. Disc one is electric and finds Harper and the Innocent Criminals tearing through their patented mix of rock, folk, soul, and blues. Yet, the solo-acoustic disc two is the true prize, putting the spotlight squarely on Harper's incredibly agile, versatile, and enormously moving voice. In this pared-down setting, Harper shows an uncanny ability to connect with his audience, offering one spellbinding performance after another. Culled from two years' worth of shows--no two songs are taken from the same concert--Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars worthy
this recording doent fully convey the essence of his concerts. there are better recordings of each song one can find on morpheus or limewire. It is worth the money spent however, i just found that there were a lot more worthy performances of his out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars To dig his music, you must bleed
Harper is one of the most eclectic and soulful artists that I've heard in my life and each time I listen to this live concert, it turns me inside out. When I am unable to understand my rage, my pain or pride, my bleeding, my state of mourning, my yearning for a lover, I play Woman in You, and I howl (shamelessly) along with Ben Harper, without censoring my fall and then my rise.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Live Album
If you have never heard any Ben Harper, or if you are the world's biggest Ben fan...this is the album for you!The double disc set really shows off Ben's versatility, grace, and style. This is one of my favorite albums of all time...it always makes me feel like I'm right at the show.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Album I've Ever Heard
I can't believe anybody gave this album less than 5 stars. This is the most compelling performance I have ever heard.I have 50.76 gigs of music on iTunes and this is my favorite album.

3-0 out of 5 stars good Talking Heads record
i own this on vinyl and it's just good talking head songs live, although i have to say the original version of some songs are better but if you have the money i guess go for it but i recommend buying non live recordings.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bigger is not always better
The original LP version of this was a mere 9 songs, and was absolutely brilliant. I remember playing it constantly, wearing it out much like my two album "The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads" double live album. I also got to see the concert film at some midnight show and was enthralled...a concert movie for people who liked music! I loved it so much that I eventually got David Byrne to sign the book that came with the album.

Todd Snider really knows how to work a room. As a storytelling troubadour for the slacker set, he takes inspiration from the likes of Jerry Jeff Walker (as he explains in one of this solo concert album's deadpan introductions) and Robert Earl Keen and applies it to a selection of shaggy-dog stories, talking blues, and slices-of-life gone askew. One of his earliest signature tunes, "Talking Seattle Grunge Rock Blues," has now outlived grunge by too long, but the more recent "Waco Moon," inspired by the death of guitartist Eddy Shaver, shows that Snider's songwriting is good for a whole lot more than laughs. Some of his most engaging songs such as "Beer Run" seem to have practically written themselves, while others such as "Tension" and "Statistician's Blues" sound like songs that were just waiting to be written. It's an integral part of Snider's engaging appeal that he makes it all seem so effortless. As with Keen, the challenge for Snider is balancing the easy laughs with his more serious progression as a songwriter. Read more

Punk rock is meant to be played loud and snotty. Blink 182 are a San Diego punk rock threesome whose interest in arrested development has led them to a sparkling array of sex jokes that cover everything from anal sex to masturbation to... Well, you get the idea--and that's just the between-song banter. This limited-edition live collection--a holding pattern until the band's fifth studio album is released in 2001--features a slam-dunk collection of the band's hits, fan favorites from their various studio albums, and new tunes ("Blew Job" among the enlightened tracks). One additional studio track, "Man Overboard" (already a hit on a radio near you), packs a harder punch than most, thanks to the studio finesse. But mostly these are revved-up versions of songs to break a skateboard by. With the added appeal of a color booklet and about seven minutes of "stage banter" tacked on at the end, guaranteed to either leave you in stitches or have you grounded for a month. Read more

this is a good live album. i dont watch mtv and i hope no one else does but this is good live. the jokes in between songs are hilarious as long as your not uptight or disgusted by their language. the bestpart is the 20 something tracks of them just talking.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good Cd
This is a good live blink 182 cd....Almost too good.I have a couple other concerts of them and the quality of their singing and playing isn't anything compared to this one.I thing their was some kind of tampering with the vocals. On the other blink cds, you can't even understand half of the things tom says, but everything is clear and understandable on this cd. Oh-well, besides that, the cd is good because they change the voice patterns on some songs like What's my age again and Voyeur and Pathetic.Even if they did mess with the cd, i still love them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brillient
Such good fun and humour. Tom and Mark are so funny and first time listening to it really made me laugh. Also the songs on it are awesome from their best album enema of the state.
