5-0 out of 5 stars Higher Than The Milky Way
From the opening dissonant synthesizer riff, Phil Manzanera's alternately 'walking' and shrieking guitar lines slithering through it and Bryan Ferry's excited crooning in "Street Life" to the gorgeous poetry and subtle piano/violin interplay at the end of "Sunset", this is my favorite Roxy Music album. The wild "Street Life" is followed by "Just Like You", a luscious ballad with astoundingly dreamy/surrealistic lyrics Ferry mostly sings in a sweet falsetto. Then out of left field (way, way out!) comes the Ferry/Manzanera-composed "Amazona"- partly funky, partly spacey, totally unique. I love Phil's treated guitar solo on this one. The marching rhythm of "Psalm" features a strange lyrical analogy of trying on different clothes with seeking religious faith. "Serenade" features some wonderful oboe and sax work by Andy Mackay. Next is the towering "A Song For Europe", an ode to the Olde Country that veers from the majestic to the subtle and back again. The astonishingly original "Mother of Pearl" starts off like a schizophrenic rocker ("Have you a future? Yes,yes, yes, nooo!"), transforms into a semi-ballad after a little over a minute and slowly starts rocking again after a bit. "Mother" segues right into the final track, "Sunset", a song so beautiful, so melancholy yet serene that I cried the first few times I listened to it. Again, here Bryan's lyrics are unparalleled in their subtlety and wit. ("Sunburst fingers you raise, one last sigh of farewell".) Glorious!
5-0 out of 5 stars Ahhh, the girl with blue hair !!
This is simply the best Roxy album ever. I went to see them live in 1973 (?) in Coventry, and was stunned. All of us were huge Roxy fans at the time, and i still consider most of it to have been the best time of my life. all the albums were incredibly innovative, and got everyone away from mainstream rock'n'roll.
4-0 out of 5 stars VENUS on the HALF SHELL is an AMAZON
The first song "Street Life" the stunning personal rocker, redefines the new ROXY MUSIC as a great ensemble. The second is the perfect and brilliant singer/songwriter "Just Like You" which redefines the director of ROXY MUSIC as Bryan Ferry. The third track "Amazona" is what should be this throw away little ditty that I have the most to write about (he he he) "...in Amazona everything is nice...little one, come take my hand, I'll try to take you there..." which gets weird like a horrible cloud of gnats that you can't escape and can't help but get under your skin and Phil Manzanera does, but distortion is not song content and here might ENO contribute. It is probably my favorite track, and annoying, but also probably the weakest one on the album (he he he)."Psalm" is warranted and shocking in its day, but not one I rarely skip."Serenade" however is another one of those tuneful ROXY marvels I write about, surprising and insightful."A Song for Europe" is another long theatre piece, Byronesque, as in Lord Byron. Some love it, some don't."Mother Of Pearl," like the Venus-on-the-Half-Shell record album cover, is protracted. But, it has such an electrifying opener, poignant lyric, and lush tune, that I can't fault it.The album closes with the gorgeous "Sunset" which is one of those perfectly set ROXY MUSIC songs that, when you sleep, haunt your dreams...

In 1972, when rock & roll was all but dead in Manhattan, five cross-dressing glam punks from the boroughs convened and began hammering out crude, sub-Chuck Berry rock for the downtown in-crowd. It took another year before a record company dared to sign them, thus foisting Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars New York Dolls - self-titled (Mercury)
Review number 63.Originally unleashed to an unexpected public in summer of 1973,this was of course the glam rocker's very first record. If you think the Stooges were great, step aside, this CD reissue is ALSO a true Proto-Punk classic. Every one of this album's slamming tunes 'practically' pulls you in,like "Personality Crisis", the radio friendly(?) "Looking For A Kiss", "Lonely Planet Boy" (one of my personal favorites), "Bad Girl", "Pills" and "Jet Boy". So glad they've recently reunited, aren't you? Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars What more can really be said?
I'm a big fan of Bowie, Iggy, T. Rex and other bands of that glam/early punk era. This album provides a perfect mix of those genres. It's really hard to listen to this album and not hear how their influence spread to a lot of bands that would proceed them.
4-0 out of 5 stars Something Happened in Lower Manhattan
I had pretty high expectations for this CD when I first listened to it way back when. I understood that it was a recording of high historical importance and influence, and the fact that Morrissey endorsed it as his favorite CD - and does to this very day - certainly bode well for it.Besides, I couldn't help but be drawn in by a bunch of guys dressed as red light district Barbies playing trashy, menacing rock 'n roll in a brew of Rolling Stones-style blues and reckless proto-punk abandon. Moreover, in the wake of the glam rock of T. Rex and David Bowie, the New York Dolls imitated their fashions so as to flatter them, but took it to the extreme and gave it an irresistibly kitschy quality. Image was very important at the time, and the Dolls were wise enough to embrace it.

Editorial Review

When Devo's debut album came out in 1978, nobody knew what to make of the mutant new-wave quintet from Akron, Ohio. With Brian Eno's skillful production, Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh, Jerry and Bob Casale, and Alan Myers emerged fully formed and outrageous with their razor-sharp social commentary and exhibition of subversive media savvy.Beyond their industrial uniforms and pseudo-devolved demeanor, Devo also happened to be a rocking little band. Classic rave-outs like "Mongoloid," "Jocko Homo," and "Uncontrollable Urge" illustrate the band's perky-jerky intensity. On their inimitable cover of the Rolling Stones' youth anthem, "Satisfaction," Devo's avant-garde robot funk takes the song to a new level of alienation and discontent. While the band went on to greater fame, this was the only album they made that truly mattered. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Look What The Rubber City Exported
A band that dressed like spacemen, moved like robots and had a painting of pro golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez gracing the cover of its first full-length album. No wonder Devo had to escape northeast Ohio to find their musical niche in London during the "Year of Punk (1978)."
5-0 out of 5 stars If You Like Music, Buy This Album
DEVO has not been given appropriate credit for their contributions to modern music. Written off as a "One Hit Wonder" (for "Whip It" which is not on this album but is on "Freedom Of Choice"), DEVO bridged the gaps between punk and new wave and again from new wave to electronica. They have influenced more bands than most people realize. If you fancy yourself as one who has a big CD/MP3 collection, it is incomplete without this album! Also, visit their web site: http://www.clubdevo.com . They are still alive and kicking and they occasionally tour. Buy this album and go and see them. I've met them, they are very nice guys!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile; possibly obsolete
This 2-disc set spans, somewhat uncomfortably, the boundary between a greatest-hits collection (targeted at the casual fan) and a retrospective box set (targeted at the completist).Nearly all of the band's well-known hits are here (with the odd exception of "Uh Oh, Love Comes to Town"), padded out to double-CD length with live cuts and non-album tracks. The result is completely listenable, as the boundary between the group's quirky art-rock days and their FM-radio heyday falls nicely between discs, but new fans might consider the later, single-disc hits collection a better value while fans wanting to go deeper will seek out the recent DualDisc re-releases which feature lots of bonus tracks.
4-0 out of 5 stars Strong compilation from a smart pop band
Talking Heads is one of those rare bands with the distinction of making smart pop music accesible for the masses. The double disc "Sand in the Vaseline" is a good reflection of their career.I first became familar with them in the early eighties when songs like "Burning down the House" was all over FM radio and MTV.Disc 2 represents this era thoroughly, and includes some smaller hits that I forgot about until I bought the CD.
5-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect...if I could I would rate 4.5
I love this band...they just might be my favorite band of all time! And this is a freaking great compilation. My only complaint...and its not a huge deal, I just wish that a few songs would have been on it for example 1. Uh Oh (love has come to town), 2. What a Day that Was and 3. Found a Job.Its okay though because I have those songs on other cds...just a minor complaint. If you want to get way into the Heads this would be a great place to start. What a great band. ... Editorial Review

So relentlessly catchy is "Soundtrack to Your Life," the single off the relentlessly catchy debut by MTV reality scenester Ashley Parker Angel, that the average vulnerable listener may begin to worry--after weeks of being able to hum nothing else--that it has literally become the soundtrack to her life. This effect can be especially troubling for boy band-haters--Angel, after all, was a founding member of the short-lived 'N Sync-like outfit O-Town--but it shouldn't be. On this solo debut, the flop-haired heartthrob comes across about as boy-band-derived as any recent entry on the modern rock charts. Which is to say, not at all. On opener "Let U Go," A.P.A. comes out rocking hard: elements of pop swirl around, but so do post-punk flourishes (a band like My Chemical Romance might have had a home in his iPod while he was recording). Later the disc takes a turn toward the mainstream, with "Crazy Beautiful," "Beautiful Lie," and "Feel So Alive" sounding as squarely pop--soaring guitars and all--as their titles suggest. But to discount Angel as a rocker because he has a way with a pop hook wouldn't be fair. Overall, this is Goo Goo Dolls-type rock, accessible but best played loud, with a surprisingly sharp edge. "Perfect Now" puts the point across best: In it, our melodic mastermind thoughtfully knocks an overachieving prom queen from her self-satisfied perch. The rub: he's not afraid to drop the "A" word in an early verse. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good
This album is simply 'pretty good'.Nothing more, nothing less. It's got some good songs, and it's got some clunkers.I don't think Ashley knows what type of music he really wants to get into yet, and I don't think the band that is backing him up on that album is all that good.Ashley is very talented, and needs to get with a group of younger, edgier musicians, in order to take his music to the next level.Simply making 'ok' music is unacceptable for someone as personable, likeable, and talented as he is.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Ramones wrote hit songs
In a more perfect world the Ramones would have had a load of hit records. Their songs were written to be hits. Joey Ramone was always thinking that their next release was gonna be the one that would top the charts.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sorry But....
Ramones are my favorite band ever i would have to say, hence the 5 stars.... but since I have virtually their entire collection, The two best of compilations to get I would have to say are "Loud, Fast Ramones" or "Ramones Mania". Basically if you have those two compilation and their first self titled album, you can consider yourself set for a while. Ramones "Anthology is also awesome. My two favorite Ramones albums of all time are RAMONES "Ramones" and "Mondo Bizarro", Of course I'm talking about getting a quick RAMONES fix here, or if you just wanna check out the band for the first time... you gotta start somewhere right? well i wouldn't start here, I would strongly suggest, for the price and a good starting place either "Loud, Fast" or "Mania", the two-disc "Anthology" is pretty damn good as well... But c'mon ,How bout a rarities disc already or something???

1-0 out of 5 stars NOOOOOOOOOOO
This is horrible. ok, 1. There are already like 3 greatest hits packages and an anthology. There's no need for more. 2. If you are a true Ramones fan(like me), you buy the albums, not greatest hits. Very disapponting. ... Read more

this is their best cd so far. im sure their music is just going to get better!! good album, buy the cd!

1-0 out of 5 stars I don't get it
A pop rock band with a violin?I'm sorry, I just don't get it.It's not like the band sucks, they're good musicians if you're into that poppy sound, but the violin just confuses me.There's a time and place for violin in rock music, with an ensemble arrangement for example, but not solo.IMHO.

5-0 out of 5 stars They finally got somewhere
Ocean Avenue did wonders for YC.They finally got onto the radio after about 7 years of working their @$$es off.And this album does not dissapoint. It has everything a good band needs to make it big.And compared to their first albums, "Midget Tossing", and "Where We Stand", this album is proof that any band can go from struggling to famous if they try. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Finally
A thin, reedy, weak voice caterwauling is caterwauling nonetheless. Finally, the production adds some much needed depth and masculinity to this girl-pop trio. Let's face it, the vocals for this group on previous outings were Spears-esque, or Madonna-lite-like at best. Try as they might, these ladies could never match Dalle or Love or Hynde. But Fridmann saved the day by injecting an interesting set of distorted textures and saved these ladies from themselves. This is their only worthwhile record, and man is it a good one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hate to see 'em go out like this
Man do I love this band, and "Dig Me Out" and "The Hot Rock" fall firmly in my top 20 albumbs by any artist, but this album is far too inconsistent to recommend. Some GREAT songs, and some that aren't getting better even on the 20th+ listen.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worse Than Awful- Don't Believe The Hype!
I bought this album based on the media hype preceding its release. It was described by one critic as Led Zeppelin with estrogen or something to that effect. Not being familiar with Sleater-Kinney's previous efforts, I came to this CD with fresh ears and fairly high expectations...which were shattered when I listened to it the first time. Some albums take a while to grow on me so I listened to it a few more times before deciding unequivocally that I hated it. Although "The Woods" is overly recorded, poorly sang and terribly unfocused, I do admit that I like "The Fox". After that I go into a post-punk-induced coma. Refund please! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars anything less than 5 stars is absurd!
David Bowie may have written the "hit" on this album and may have helped the band in any number of ways but it sickens me to hear so many comments in the literature implying Bowie's contribution is responsible for this band's success. Certainly he helped them at a crucial time when they may have passed on to anonymity but the talent was all theirs. When one listens to the bonus Bowie track where he sings "All the Young Dudes" even though he wrote it, it is obvious Mott the Hoople made it their's. Mott is a perfect example of how the media can destroy a band. Lord knows what may have come from these guys if Allen and Ralphs had hung around for another two or three years. As a musician and song writer this is one of my all-time favorite early seventies albums. I am also a Bad Company fan but I'll never understand why anyone liked B.C.'s version of Ready For Love more than Mott's...at best its a fair imitation. Like many bands during this time they were phenomenally talented and creative but only maintained their edge for a short while. Give them the credit they deserve!

4-0 out of 5 stars a good piece of music, but not groundbreaking
David Bowie wanted to work with this band because he felt that they had talent, and transformed Mott the Hoople into a real group with this album. But these 5 star reviews are a bit too much. I like All the Young Dudes, but opening a record with a less than great cover of "Sweet Jane" is just not how an album should be opened up. You'd enjoy this album a lot more if you ate up all of David Bowie's music. But this is no Ziggy Stardust, or even half of that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Launch Code Enabled
By now, the story of David Bowie throwing Mott The Hoople a bone with glam anthem "All The Young Dudes," in turn preventing their career from swirling down the crapper faster than last night's dinner, is a part of rock and roll lore damn near on par with Robert Johnson brokering his soul to Beelzebub down at the crossroads.Of course Johnson never had to deal with Guy Stevens, so draw your own conclusions as to who got the short end of the stick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bright Futures
This is only the second Jimmy Eat World CD I've bought, and I was expecting the upbeat, pop success of the Bleed American CD. I was, happily, disappointed. The word 'deep' is a cheap, unworthy description of the amazing, brilliant new lyrics by Jim Adkins. I'm amazed at his courage in writing songs that are obviously of such painful and private content. Bravo, Jim! It's impossible to explain the genius of this CD, except to just listen to it yourself and get lost in the brilliant mixture of lyrics and driving rhythms. It's a wonderful, heartfelt piece of music.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, but not their best.
As a die hard JEW fan, of course I love everything they put out. This might appeal more to the newer fans, but my favorites will always be Static Prevails and Clarity. Still an amazing listen though, JEW never fails to deliver and all of their releases, be they full albums or EPs, are always worth every penny and then some. They're one of those bands that changes their sound on every record but still retains what made you love them in the first place, and that's really refreshing in these days where the majority of music on the radio is stale and nothing new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bowie's First Classic
This is the album where Bowie first hit his stride. After a forgettable and debut and the well-intentioned but lackluster(except for the title track) "Space Oddity" album, Bowie roared back with "The Man Who Sold The World".
5-0 out of 5 stars Guitar Oriented David Bowie
This is David Bowie giving himself a less synthy and more guitar oriented sound. And who better to do that for him than the legendary Mick Ronson? The title track was famously covered by Nirvana but the first four tracks are the best. There are a few songs on here that that are only good, but they can't spoil the stellar first four tracks, nor the second to last, "The Man Who Sold the World." I have no doubt in my mind that this is a must own for any Bowie fan, if for no other reason, because these are good songs of his that you don't hear very often. Underplayed Bowie goodness will be refreshing from some of his more famous songs that you have heard your whole life. This ranks in my top 5 favorite Bowie albums. For me, it goes like this:
3-0 out of 5 stars The Man who Sold the World: David Bowie
It is been told that this album was David Bowie's heavy metal attempt.Although the guitar in this album probably did influence later heavier material of other artist, this is not a "heavy" album.

1-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe you people
Since when was it good music for a guy who sounds like a girl to blurt out expletives overtop of lame chord progressions? Never! This album seems to be the band's most respected work, though if you ask me they deserve no respect. The brains of all these five star reviewers have apparently been numbed musically, because surely no-one in an upright American society would be fooled into thinking this so-called "Music" is actually good for the ears. Wrong-o! This album, right here, is the worst CD I have ever heard. I promise you that is no spur of the moment exaggeration, it's just so awful. This band needs to lose its popularity NOW. They're just like New Found Glory and Rush; ruined by the singer. But in this case, the music wouldn't have been any good with another singer even; everything that could go wrong has.

In the realm of concept albums and stories told through music, Coheed and Cambria are Kings. They have crafted an awesome and original and inspiring storyline that is told through five albums. A pentology is what they call that. Parts two, three and the first part of four have been released. In keeping secrets of silent earth:3 is the third chapter in their great story of the coming appocalypse. And what a chapter this is! Rife with battles, love, loss and a crazy man in love with his sniper rifle!Musically, this album is top notch, providing heavy and soft passages and wonderful transitions between them. Musically, Coheed and Cambria deliver a solid, rockin album that is sure to infect your head for many moons to come. Lyrically, Coheed and Cambria entrance your soul and will have you humming and singing and deciphering the lyrics forever! The singers voice is high pitched and that turns many people off of Coheed and Cambria. But once you get passed that and accept that fact, you realize that the singer is an amazing and beautiful and talented singer.
5-0 out of 5 stars And i woke the sounds of them crying
Okay... I have owned this cd for a minute sense the year it was released... but anyway i purchased this cd only knowing a littleabout co & ca hearing one song off their first cd called "time consumer" and i liked that and also hearing about a show they playedlocaly and that they were good. But i had no idea what i was in for when i bought this cd on a whim after reading an interview with their bassist in one of my bass player mag's. And let me tell ya your not the same after coheed they pull you in and take you over. But at first listen you are not sure sounds pretty good... got a nice epic vibe. By the time you are at the end of what you think is the last track the weird outro thing here they come with what would become to me atleast the very imfomus 2113. and if you know that one song time consumer from second stage and you are familiar with the story you are stunned you dont know what just happend the last 45 mins or hour were a blur and then you feel compelled to put it back in. ITs all over after that my friends. Coheed is a band you cant put in a genre or even try to explain to anyone it inspires you drags you in and you feel awesome. Simply must give it a chance forget about what they say about the vocals or if there emo which they are a farcry from that, you will end up loving the vocals and the amazing beautiful music Coheed and cambria create. The most intreaging music i have ever listened to simply captivating. this album must be purchased ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Rock record, not hardcore or death metal anymore
The new self titled effort from 18V is exactly that, new. In No way shape or form is any of the band that recorded 'Until the Ink Runs out' represented on this, as the band has decided gone more in a rock direction. While they have attempted this on 'Vanity' with "I don't Mind" and went more Boldly with 'Obsession', I feel here they have definetly accomplished what they set out to make, a great rock and roll record. Lots of solid songs more dedicated than on 'Obsession', which in comparison seemed like more of a failed attempt to achieve this. There really isn't a bad song on this cd. And it's very well produced, sounds very sonically tight.

THEY CALL THIS HEAVY METAL? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER THE CATEGORY OF POP ROCK AT BEST. IF YOU LIKE GOOD HEAVY METAL/ HARD CORE LIKE MYSELF, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ALBUM!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars just another memory...
If you like straight up hard rock then this cd is for you, but man, I hate it when bands that I used to really like put out cheezy albums just to sell more records.Yeah, they say they evolved with time, but please, they don't even do it well. There are no true hardcore influences here at all.Ok, there may be heavy parts to this cd, but nothing compared to "Until the Ink Runs Out", "Best Of", "Vanity", and even "Obsession" had heavier parts and more emotion ("Tower Of Snakes"). As far as I'm concerned, Vanity was their last good album, even though I did kind of like "Obsession".Rest in peace Visions. What once was will never be again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day are LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!
Green Day in my opinion were one of the greatest groups in history!
5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day-Punk NOT Posers
This is by far one of the best cds I've ever heard. My favorite from Green Day. My favorite song ever is Castaway. People that are calling Green Day posers really need to stop. Wow, they tried something new! Let's sue them!!! NO. They've been a band longer than I've lived on this planet. (no, I'm not from outer space...I'm just 12) Green Day teaches people to be who they are and that they shouldn't be afraid to show some self respect. Take Minority for example-Stepped out of the line/like a sheep runs from the herd/Marching out of time/to my own beat now-They want you to show your individuality people! Have those haters of Green Day even heard their music? Have you given them a chance. Wow, you hear one sample of a song-maybe-and you think they suck. THATS NOT GIVING THEM A CHANCE!!! Stop trashing, start listening.
4-0 out of 5 stars Green Day's Warning
WARNING: is a major progression in the sound and style of the punk rock band: Green Day. The players still had the grudgy and edgy sound of guitars, bass, and drums. Excpet this time around, the band had obviously searched for a further progression in sound. At times, the band is accompanied by horns, harmonicas, strings, mandolins, and it greatly improves the originality to Green Day's performance. Joel still leads the band with his gritty vocals, but at times he adds more heartfelt lyrics than he has ever done in the past. It is the beginning to his path in expressing his personal and political thoughts. The band itself is well formed and play together remarkably. WARNING: is the record before Green Day's major breakthrough as a politcal rock band, and an album you have to hear.

Editorial Review

On Dashboard Confession's fourth album, Christopher Carraba welcomes listeners back into his emotionally claustrophobic world, where relationships are minefields, women are brittle and self-absorbed, and every cloud has a pewter lining. But all this is only fodder for his runaway id, as he deconstructs every encounter, giving us evidence of the pain and betrayal that lurks behind every corner. Finding a home somewhere between the positive punk of Green Day, circa "Time of Your Life," and the stream-of-consciousness poetry of the early Counting Crows, this collection is more musically coherent than Dashboard Confessional's earlier albums. Gil Norton's production has taken the band to new heights, allowing the music to have as much grit, substance, and dynamics as the lyrics. The anxious expectorated sputum of "Am I Missing," is an existential assault on your very sanity, with its fretful drumming and spectral chorus, butthis album doesn't sound just that one apprehensive note; Carraba is equally at home with the sparse, acoustic ballad "Ghost of a Good Thing" and the folksy rocker "Carve Your Heart Out Yourself," which could have been lifted from a Buffalo Springfield album. By giving voice to the thoughts that go bump in the night, Carraba gives vulnerability and sincerity a good name again. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You're chasing the ghost of a good thing!
This is the album that defined Dashboard Confessional as a "band."I loved the other DC albums, where it was just an acoustic guitar (sometimes drums and bass) and Chris Carabba, wearing his heart on his sleeve on every song.So this album made me a little nervous, wondering if I could still feel that passion with a full band. The answer...of course! This album is breathtaking, and the drums are excellent, guitar work of John Lefler is amazing, and the harmony vocals are perfect.Lefler has a style that sounds so lush and beautiful and compliments perfectly with Carabba's.The feeling of this album is less raw than the previous, but even with all of the extra instrumentation, it is still Carabba's voice and lyrics that make this album truly great. From "Hands Down" to "Several Ways To Die Trying," DC has entered into a list of great bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Counting Crows that feature great music, vocals, and better-than-most-band's lyrics. My favorite songs are: Hands Down, As Lovers Go, Carry This Picture, Bend and Not Break (my favorite song on this album), Ghost of a Good Thing (a raw, acoustic song that is very heartfelt), and Carve Your Heart Out Yourself. Each song has a different sound to it and there is no song on here that you will want to skip.Because of this album, the sky is the limit for Dashboard. Also, what makes this album truly worth buying is that is has an enhanced limited edition DVD of DC playing R.E.M. covers from their album "Automatic For The People."It's so good that I immediately bought that REM album.DC is here to stay, so sit back and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is what music is supposed to be.
Powerfully written. Raw, unfiltered human emotion. It doesn't get much better than this. Definitely one of the greatest CDs ever written. If you knew Dashboard before this album... forget what you know!! This album is actually good. Yeah I agree with Kenny a lot of emo these days is just lame and uninspired. Look at Taking Back Sunday, Funeral for a Friend, and Brand New.
5-0 out of 5 stars raw and gorgeous
If you haven't noticed already, Chris Carrabba wears his emotions on his sleeve. I love this album, and the first track (hands down) is my favourite song ever. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and bought the album immediately after without hearing any other DC songs. I soon went back to SAR and TPYHCTFTM and now that Dusk and Summer is out nobody can deny the genius that is DC. This review is long overdue.
