5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day Comes Back With More!
Green Day managed to produce another great heart pounding punk-rock gem. You get:
5-0 out of 5 stars Green Day Rocks in Concert!
After seeing Bullet in a Bible on FUSE, I knew that I needed to get this CD/DVD. Some may disagree with Samuel Bayer's choice in camera changes during the movie but I personally didn't find any problem with it. It sort of captures the spirit of the band itself, coming at you from many directions and you never know what's going to happen next. Green Day is AWESOME in concert and this DVD is evidence of it. From Billie Joe's crazy antics in St. Jimmy to his heroic and heartfelt performance of Wake Me Up When September Ends, Green Day shows it's versatility as a band and their highly polished skills as musicians/entertainers.
4-0 out of 5 stars Green DayBullet In A Bible(Live Album)
This is a great album 14 songs 65:36. All of the songs are live for one thing. Green Day makes realy good LIVE albums. I realy like the part where they introduces a band named Green Day at the end of Brain Stew or Basket Case. But otherwise it is realy great, especilly if you are a true Green Day fan. Whats great about it is you get alot of the new songs but you also get some of the songs from older albums like Nimrod, Warning, Shanegins, and Isonomic.

Editorial Review

Punk rock is meant to be played loud and snotty. Blink 182 are a San Diego punk rock threesome whose interest in arrested development has led them to a sparkling array of sex jokes that cover everything from anal sex to masturbation to... Well, you get the idea--and that's just the between-song banter. This limited-edition live collection--a holding pattern until the band's fifth studio album is released in 2001--features a slam-dunk collection of the band's hits, fan favorites from their various studio albums, and new tunes ("Blew Job" among the enlightened tracks). One additional studio track, "Man Overboard" (already a hit on a radio near you), packs a harder punch than most, thanks to the studio finesse. But mostly these are revved-up versions of songs to break a skateboard by. With the added appeal of a color booklet and about seven minutes of "stage banter" tacked on at the end, guaranteed to either leave you in stitches or have you grounded for a month. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars good
this is a good live album. i dont watch mtv and i hope no one else does but this is good live. the jokes in between songs are hilarious as long as your not uptight or disgusted by their language. the bestpart is the 20 something tracks of them just talking.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good Cd
This is a good live blink 182 cd....Almost too good.I have a couple other concerts of them and the quality of their singing and playing isn't anything compared to this one.I thing their was some kind of tampering with the vocals. On the other blink cds, you can't even understand half of the things tom says, but everything is clear and understandable on this cd. Oh-well, besides that, the cd is good because they change the voice patterns on some songs like What's my age again and Voyeur and Pathetic.Even if they did mess with the cd, i still love them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brillient
Such good fun and humour. Tom and Mark are so funny and first time listening to it really made me laugh. Also the songs on it are awesome from their best album enema of the state.

5-0 out of 5 stars World's Best Live Band (Re-released)
This is the only live album (until tomorrow when whiskey on a sunday comes out) from the world's best live band. It is not very polished, which gives it a rough and raw sound. This is Flogging Molly's first album and features the band's original guitar player Tedd Hutt. It was recorded in a single night at Molly Malone's in L.A. (hence the title).

4-0 out of 5 stars A good preview
These guys are amazing musicians; perfect together - a modern Simon and Garfunkel. This album is pretty good on it's own, basically the best modern rock out there, if you'll call it that. It's hard to call it anything because these guys are totally unique; it's a sound I've been lookin for but haven't found in other artists.Even better are there next two albums, and more diverse.

5-0 out of 5 stars BOMB!
If you like the guitar and some chill mellow music, you gotta have this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of Slighly Stoopid
This album in my opinion is by far slightly stoopid's best.I don't really care for most of their other music just because they sound so "white". This is pure reggae. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very live in London
If you're a fan of Against Me! you understand that vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabel has a penchant for surprise. No one ever knows what to expect from Gabel and his ever-changing lineup--not even Gabel himself. Nothing is ever planned. Each of the albums Gabel has recorded for Fat Wreck Chords evolved out of collaborations with myriad sidemen, friends, and producers.
3-0 out of 5 stars Kind of disappointing
I haven't seen them live but anyone who has seen the DVD, "We're Never Going Home", would agree that this sounds far different. Tom never sang the whole way through a song on the DVD, often taking breaks and passing the mic around for fans to sing. I would rather get what their live show is really like because I don't think this is it. Although I am a fan of Americans Abroad, the song.

1-0 out of 5 stars slow, boring...

2-0 out of 5 stars I don't understand...
I wanted to hear Dashboard and instead I get a bunch of idiots singing instead? It doesn't seem much, but I wasted [...] on this cd. I should have bought new strings for my guitar. At least then I wouldn't have to listen to these idiots screaming the songs. I hate this and the DVD is even worse because then you have to see all these rich idiot kids playing extra sad for the cameras??? WTF Dashboard? MTV Sucks!

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste
Why did I pay money to hear kids yelling to the accoustic playing of Dashboard Confessional? If you're an old fan, you'll like it.But me being a new fan . . . this is a waste of money.I paid to hear Dashboard sing accoustic versions of their songs. Not kids.I felt like I was sitting at a campfire at Vacation Bible School. Stupid!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is by far Dashboard's best album
How could anyone give this cd a rating below 5 stars? This cd fully encaptures what it is like to be standing in front of Chris at one of his shows. The audiance sing-along makes this cd what it is. This is not only my favorite Dashboard cd, but it is my favorite cd of all time. There is not a week that goes by that I find myself not listening to this album.

Editorial Review

Even if Social Distortion have lost some their edge on more recent studio releases, this new live set is solid proof that the band's musical urgency is still intact. Seventeen years of classic Orange County, California, punk is represented over 17 tracks, as the band moves through speaker-rattling alternative-radio hits like "Bad Luck," "Let It Be Me," and "Ball & Chain." Singer Mike Ness's rockabilly roar is in fine form, as is the grinding rock energy his bandmates put out. Recorded over three nights at Los Angeles's historic Roxy nightclub, the disc serves as a great testament to one of America's finest punk bands. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars live
1 hour ago just saw Social Distortion Live in Atlanta.People yelled all the way through the concert.Whoops and yells spilling out on the street after the concert."Live" is the best word for this band when you see them in concert."Live" for both girls and guys. All seemed to linger after the concert.Total adrenalin. Why see the Rolling Stones live when you can see the real deal?
4-0 out of 5 stars Transition album for Mike Ness
It's during Ball and Chain, more than Ring of Fire, where you can FEEL the Johnny Cash influence on Mike.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Band in the USA
You can forget about the debate over who the best band in America is.It begins and ends with these guys.Although not the same Social D of the 80's and 90's, in part due to aging, retirments (Johnny, we need you back on bass man!) and largely to the tragic loss of Dennis Danell, these guys simply put on the greatest show, every time.I just saw them live in Poughkeepise NY (for like the 30th time since 1992), and that show was as powerful and rocking as that first time I saw them at the Sting in New Britain, CT (and like a young dum-ass, offered Mike and Dennis a beer in the parking lot before the show).

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome Sublime live CD
this is a must have album for a Sublime fan... you can feel the vibe as if you were there in the concert.

5-0 out of 5 stars Live = Better
I wish I had a van. Vans are pretty cool. I mean...there's just so much room. And sure, they can't drag real well, but you don't drag in a van. You got subs, and room for gals. And if you're really classy you can get a couple of couches back there and a TV, and you can roll in it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sublime........................................
Ok.I'm a big Sublime fan.I have All their cd's but the acoustic one, but anyway, that's not the point.I'm a sucker for live records, and this one is one of thier best. There are a lot of bootleg live albums on the net, and they have their moments, but the sound quality is hard to handle cuz alot of them suck. This is a very good cd.It shows sublime in their true form: "three guys and a dalmation playing reggae and punk songs at parties for beer" to quote, incorrectly, but close enough, the liner notes of this cd.If you are a Sublime fan, get it.Otherwise get 40 oz. To Freedom and s/t.This is a good mix of songs from 40 oz. and Robbin' the Hood.Speaking of which, it does Robbin the Hood justice because they do actual full band versions of the home-produced 4-track songs that were usually just Brad by himself.Highlights include "New Thrash", "Don't Push", "Let's Go Get Stoned", "Greatest Hit's", "Date Rape", "STP", "Pool Shark" (which is a mix of the original and acoustic versions), and an early version of "Caress Me Down".Good Luck. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
This is an awesome album! Best songs: London Calling, I Fought The Law, Career Opportunities, Train In Vain, and Rudy Won't Fail. Still, only bad part is the lead singer's voice cracks a couple times and sometimes you can't hear the guitars very good. Still awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Most Important Albums Ever Produced
This disc will always serve as proof when people like myself that grew up during the 1980s make the statement that the Clash was the greatest rock band ever. This disc has several of their many great songs recorded live and larger than life. The versions of "Capital Radio" and "Whiteman in Hammersmith Palais" are not to be believed. However, what is so incredible about this album is that all of the songs are so incredible. The sound quality is excellent and the playlist is first rate. I say the Clash is the greatest band ever, if you disagree, listen to this album and get back to me.

4-0 out of 5 stars please, sir, may I have some more?
We can quibble over the track selection and varying sound quality forever, but the one indisputable failure of this disc is that Sony failed to fill it. Why would they do such a thing?

5-0 out of 5 stars Real entertainers
I got this after I heard 'Are A Drag' and figured that it couldn't be for real. Well, I'm sure that it is. These guys are great. I turned a lot of people onto them that wouldn't even get into punk but know these songs and enjoy what they do with them. The quality of the recording is pretty amazing. It might be lame to say, but it's probably one of the best live recordings that I've come across. Their remakes of tunes are just great and you can tell that they are pretty serious about their love for the music that they do. I didn't cringe like one reviewer did at Stairway to Heaven, it was as short as it needed to be without being blasphemous. The singing is really great on this and the things that they say between the songs are quite humorous. One wish? They recorded their break (which was kind of odd but not unlike them probably) so that it ate up time on the disc. I would've like more songs, they were just sounding great!! If you like music because it entertains you, this is for you. I am a pro musician and usually analyze music. I don't to this; it's meant to be for enjoying and nothing else.

5-0 out of 5 stars ???
I know they cover a lot of songs and all that, but am i the only one who thinks they should be shot for their rendetion of stairway to heaven?

When the Ramones left the confines of CBGB's in 1976--where they had developed their earmark three-chord speed delivery--and took the show on the road to England, they set the punk-rock juggernaut rolling. Originally only available an imported LP, the group had already achieved legendary status in the New York City punk/new-wave scene throughperformances at CBGB's, which heavily influenced the UK punk movement.

if you are looking for an in your face live ramones album, this is it. all 28 tracks recorded in 77 with all four org. members. the songs are wicked fast, bass and drums are slamming and the raw energy you feel off this record will have you set to go for the day. if your a ramones fan then if you don't have it, buy it. if you want to understand what punk was about and started then this, and rocket to russia will help you understand.

There's something about the Ramones that makes them enjoyable. The innocence of their early songs and the fact that their early infulences were 60's based music may have something to do with it.

Buy the real houdini album first. This is a decent live performance of it, expect there;s not really an audience.the recording is marginal, and Crover's drums don't have the sonic beauty of the proper "Houdini" release.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rock and roll
In my country Melvins are the best band.Live performances are better than most bands out there. Why don't more people think so?Some rock fans seem to discard Melvins because of their talent.Listen to Houdini and become educated to the new ways of music revealed. That was in history and it was to be so futuristic. There is a grand scale to the course of their careers.Enough of hating, where is love for Melvins?

5-0 out of 5 stars The Murphys At Their Best
Recorded shortly before the departure of much-touted piper Spicy McHaggis (immortalized in the raucous "Spicy McHaggis Jig"), this is an excellent live album and a great way to get into the Murphys if you aren't too familiar with them. The three shows it showcases span the band's catalog, picking out great song after great song, with the energy that can only be captured live. From the fastest "Curse of A Fallen Soul" to the slowest "The Torch," there really isn't a stinker in the bunch. The covers of "Fortunate Son" and "Dirty Water" are very well-done. It's not often you can get a great live album comprising 26 songs from a great band for 11 bucks. Plus you get to hear from the Reverend Ken Casey about how moderate his fees are. These guys are fun, serious, just generally a real band that will show you a real good time if you just give them a chance and buy this album.

4-0 out of 5 stars For Boston
I'm envious of Bostonites every St. Patty's Day (for a couple reasons) but most certainly because the Murphs throw a 3 day party (not just a concert, a PARTY, as author Dennis Lehane says in the liner notes) for the city. These guys embrace their fans and their fans embrace them and it's just one slambang three day celebration with punk, hicks, micks, and brews pouring. In fact, on this album is a recording of a wedding engagement that occured onstage at the show.Great stuff man!
3-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as being there but pretty close
Nothing can take the place of experiencing the sheer energy of a Dropkick Murphy show, but this is pretty close to it.Some of the lyrics can be hard to understand because of all the backgroup noise, but hey that's their band. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Sheila Rogers Produced This CD?
Let's face it, this compilation is so outdated, no wonder it comes in at a whopping 87,000 on Amazon in sales! The singers on this CD are dinosaurs and some are extinct!
4-0 out of 5 stars Worth a Reprise
"Live On Letterman" is a great collection that stands up 8 years later.Sheila Rogers has done an excellent job producing this for Reprise Records. The sound quality is crisp. The audience applause flows seamlessly between tracks giving the sense to the listener that you're listening to one long concert. There are some delightful tracks on the disc.Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" blazes out with his edgy vocals and slashing lead guitar.Aretha Franklin may have sung "Think" 3,000 times, but she belts it out with an energetic band that'd have James Brown looking up their phone numbers, "I ain't no psychiatrist or doctor with degree, but it don't take much high IQ to see what you're doing to me."Lenny Kravitz also blasts out with "Are You Gonna Go My Way" with a thunderous guitar storm.Other tracks on the set are also strong including R.E.M.'s "Crush With Eyeliner" & the softest track on the set, Elivis Costello & Burt Bacharach on "God Give Me Strength."This little walk down memory lane from the small screen is worth a reprise on your changer.Enjoy!

Editorial Review

Culled from a concert/MTV broadcast recorded at Orlando's Hard Rock club, Montreal's Simple Plan ably show here why they've bubbled to the top of a crowded pack of contemporary punk-pop contenders. No hand-wringing, emocore angst or mock street ‘tude for vocalist Pierre Bouvier; he's too busy prodding the crowd into good-natured sing-alongs of band hits like "Addicted" and "Worst Day Ever" like a hyperactive cheerleader. His bandmates thrash and harmonize away behind him with equal zeal, interjecting an infectious energy to even the band's darker moments – though "darker" is a decidedly relative term in the impossibly effervescent Simple Plan universe – like "Me Against the World" and "God Must Hate Me." Simple Plan bristles here with enough boundless energy to make Green Day envious, even if they scrupulously avoid the latter's penchant for provocative smarts in the bargain. But then songs like "Crazy" (also featured here in an earnest acoustic version exclusive to this set) underscore that Simple Plan succeeds by tapping into the timeless, innocent hopes and fears of its largely teen audience with music that's both punk anxious and bubblegum sweet. 5-0 out of 5 stars Funny; good perfromance
This CD is great, even for people who don't like the sound of a live show. Most of the songs sound the same as they do on the albums, and some sound better. Pierre really is a "hyperactive cheerleader," but that's not such a bad thing when you're playing for a few thousand people. There are sing-alongs (Perfect), and screaming contests (I'm Just a Kid). Many funny moments, like David yelling at all the guys in the crowd to "grab their balls and make some noise," Pierre saying that he wants to make out with the crowd, and David calling their first record "No Pads, No Helmets, Just Bizzles." The CD is also enhanced with two live videos, Shut Up and Jump.

5-0 out of 5 stars ROXS MY SOXS
Now SP is my favorite band. This cd actually shows the above excellent music... but it also lets you listen like you were ACTUALLY at the concert. It has funny parts and it cracks me up everytime.... it has new songs and old songs.... in MY OPINION this is one of the best cds EVER!!! next to the real cds... so if you want a cd that you would like to listen to over and over again.... buy this cd.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!
SP rocks on this CD because they are excellent live performers! This CD is my favorite because they don't hold back and just unleash with the vocals and music and really show how amazingly talented they all really are.I saw them in concert after hearing this CD and WOW!!!They give 100% out there for their fans, and it's awesome to have a CD to capture a little bit of that. The music blew us away and I can't say enough about this band.I have all their albums now after seeing them live.Hard Rock Live is still my favorite one.Check it out! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Five Irons Gratest CD Ever!
This Was My First Five Iron CD my second was Chesses of Nazareth. When I first listened to One Girl Army, Oh, Canada, A Flowery Song, Dandilions, Suckerpunch, ansd so on I fell in love with Five Irons sound and had to get all of there cds. There one of my favorite bands and if you haven't got this cd i would highly recomend it. It has the awsomest mix of Five Irons early songs. Which I think are the best.I would give this cd 10 stars but they won't let me.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Quintessential Five Iron? Perhaps
Five Iron Frenzy makes a solid compilation of some of their best songs with the release of this live album, which will delight die-hard fans of the Denver ska-core ensemble and curious listeners alike. One of the things that has always set Five Iron Frenzy apart from other groups in their genre has been their unique stage presence and sense of humor, (which encludes dressing as the cast of Star Trek and crowd surfing a giant pinata filled with chili across their crowd) and these qualities are shown in this album. However, apart from the outrageously entertaining gimmicks of their live preformances, Five Iron Frenzy also offers fine musicianship and songwriting which is played out with even more energy than their studio records. These aspects distinguish the band from their contemporaries and make for an exillarating live experience. In short, Five Iron is a dish best experienced live, but this album is the next best thing (and is sadly the only thing available after the band announced their breakup in late November of 2003.) ... Editorial Review

The guitar-led, thin-sounding rock of NYC's seminal art-punk band Television had many acolytes--from the lovelorn poetry of Australia's Go-Betweens to the more commercial sound of New Wave poppers the Knack. This live double CD, originally released on cassette in 1982, showcases the band at their most experimental and wired. Obvious standouts include the intricate, almost Coltrane-esque guitar duel between bandleaders Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd on an incredible 15-minute version of "Little Johnny Jewel," plus an equally lengthy and tormented reading of "Marquee Moon." Sound quality is extremely variable, but the spirit of the originators of the New York punk loft scene shines through, even on a relatively ordinary rendition of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction." Raw, dreamy, and ripe for rediscovery. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars True rock and roll genius
What a find! I've always _liked_ Television, but the studio records left me just a wee bit cold. This burns a hole in your spakers. Not just for previous fans. Art-rockers will no doubt like the studio stuff better, but rock-rockers will likely appreciate this more. I'm a bit of a tech-geek and I hate badly engineered records, but I find this eminently listenable. The sound is not necessarily full, but its reasonably crisp. It is a live reocrding after all, and sounds like it. But this should not keep anyone away. Yes, the shorter, quiter, more 'composed' songs like Venus do work better in the album versions. But most of the material here benefits from the looser, more energetic playing. One could say its more passionate, but that doesn't begin to describe it. These guys are playing like their lives are at stake. Even if disc one was a total waste, which it isn't, disc two would be worth more than the price of admission even WITHOUT 'Little Johnny Jewel", and that particular track is priceless. I think this is simply one of the great rock and documents ever, right up there with The Who Live at Leeds.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Guitar Band hands down!
If you havent heard Television and want to learn the origins of todays and tomorrows rock, than buy this record. Everyone seems to only mention Tom Verlaines work, but its the virtuosity of the guitar interplay that occurs between Richard Lloyd and Tom Verlaine (2 geniuses of the guitar) that make this band extraordinary (and Tom Verlains haunting vocals).
4-0 out of 5 stars Wish I Was There!
This is simply one of the greatest recorded live performances I've ever heard and I spend a good deal of my life listening to live music in person and on CD.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BAD BRAINS CD!
IF YOUR ABAD BRAINS FAN!YOU'LL LOVE THIS ,1,I, PROMISE!ITSA GREAT CD!its live too!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bad Brains at full throttle
The Bad Brains: four rastas,ex-jazz-fusion musicians, turned into one of the most powerful and creative punk bands of all time. Some claim that they were the inventors of the Hardcore genre.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Originators
The originators of Hardcore Punk in 1979, come together in Amsterdam for 1987's live album recording. The music is played as fast and furious as ever as HR and the crew play classic after classic. Comprimised of material between '79 and '87, classics such as "Right Brigade", "Re-Ignition", "Coptic Times", and "Pay to Cum" are all on the same disc, and live at that. Hardcore never sounded better. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING live disc
I worship Smashing Pumpkins. I honestly think they are one of the greatest bands of the 90's, much less one of the greatest bands of all time. This live album by them contains tracks from siamese dream, gish, and a couple b-sides as well as a few studio interludes. the live tracks all differ from the studio versions in interesting ways and in general this album is incredible.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great!!!
This album is amazing, with the highest possible quality recording of the band at its live and creative peak. With great alternative and acoustic versions of their biggest hits alongside a varitety of fun, generally lighthearted original material. Some of it, especially the annoying "Pulseczar", can come off as filler, but it generally balances out quite well and shows the band's variety. The only thing better is the DVD of Vieuphoria, an even amazing documentary on one of rock's most underrated live bands.

5-0 out of 5 stars Do your homework critics!!
This CD is a re-release of the original Earphoria of which very few copies were made.So comparing it to the "Greatest Hits," as the media reviewer has, is about the dumbest thing possible. It was originally released in 1994 as the soundtrack to the VHS of vieuphoria. One last comment on the media reviewer's comments: the guy obviously hasn't listened to this album. The version of Disarm on this CD is distorted and faster compared to the slow acoustic version on Siamese Dream.Get a brain Kim.
