4-0 out of 5 stars Great, Great Album
This truley is a great album. Most of JOJ's best songs are found on this album:
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Album!
If you like Jack OFF Jill, this is a must. Maybe their lightest work but 'tis really a worthy album. They show a lot of maturity in the lyrics compared to their previous releases, actually in my personal opinion this is the most mature album in their history. Songs like Cinnamon Spider, Rabitteen or Vivica are really amazing. Try this ;)

4-0 out of 5 stars A more refined "Hole"
I have a thing for chick bands. I scour the web for new female fronted acts that sound good. There are a good number of hits, but unfortunately more misses. This album falls into the former, it's damn near a bullseye. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Haunting, Lush
Thank you Blackmore Night for your Romantic Collection - BEYOND THE SUNSET.I purchased this CD to set the mood for Valentine's Day.I have pleasantly found this CD to be one of my newly favorite musical selection for quiet times spent at home.I'm looking foward to exploring more of the music of Blackmore Night.Thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I knew of Ritchie Blackmore when he was in Deep Purple and Rainbow, but this side of him is unbelievably awesome. He formed a band with his girlfriend, Candice Night.I would call it Classical and Celtic flavored music.Candice has a beautiful voice, and Ritchie plays classical guitar with flawless picking that complements her voice.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Music doesn't get any better than this...
Different, certainly, but never better. I have been a fan of Blackmore for a long time. His work with Rainbow and Deep Purple has inspired countless other musicians. That being said, I was not prepared at all for Blackmore's Night. I happened across Blackmore's Night cds at a local store but for a year or so I never bought one. What a mistake.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!
I was fortunate enough to have encountered the Cruxshadows when they were playing in Atlanta, so my first experience with their music was first hand, and I was completely blown away. The energy level was through the roof.
5-0 out of 5 stars Finally!
Awesome that this talented band is getting the national recognition they deserve. This is a great dance track and bodes well for the upcoming album, Dreamcypher, in January. And, unlike many singles, this includes extra "b-side" songs like they used to do.Well worth the price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Waiting with Bated Breath

4-0 out of 5 stars In the Mean Time
This band rocks. If you like Pillar or Skillet this has a simular sound.Only difference is it has a female singer. This can also be compared to Benjamin Gate with more of an edge.Only 4 stars because only a few really rocky songs that I like.Gretchen has upside potential.Hopefully they continue releasing cds.If they keep being produced by Travis Wyrick they can't go wrong. All they need is to tour with a couple larger name bands to get their name out.I'd be about the only one at the show to see them.

5-0 out of 5 stars 6 stars,actually!!!!!!!maybe even 7!!!!!
WOAH!I've had a chance to hear samples of the in the mean time cd,and it was absolutly incrtedible!! Why havent we heard of this band til just now! GET THIS CD!! IM going to get this one soon!!you should also! Its definatly worth it! rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but...
After the group "Miranda Sex Garden" had left Mute, finding themselves deprived of a record label and without too many favourable prospects for future activity, singer and composer Katharine Blake decided to found in 1996, along with medieval instrumentalist Dorothy Carter, a kind of sideline project with the prosaic name of "The Mediaeval Baebes". This was a female assemblage of singers (most of them friends and acquaintances of Blake) devoted to bring up to date the texts and rhythms of the medieval era in an uninhibited and light-hearted way.
2-0 out of 5 stars Lovely music, but poor cd product
After hearing a song of the Mediaeval Baebes on radio I wanted to hear more. I was not disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good mastering but...
I continuously get irritated with folks like Beggar's Banquet for releasing compilations with single mixes or dorky updated versions of songs. When I buy a greatest hits collection, I want to hear the original mixes as they were released on the original album. Also, where's 'All in My Mind' from Express on this supposed 'Best of'?

3-0 out of 5 stars 5 star band, gets a 3 star "best of" collection....
Love and Rockets is one of my favorites from the 80's.L&R made some of the most 'atmospheric' music from the 80's that really set them apart from the synth-pop and power-pop groups from that era.If 80's music were a schoolyard, you would probably find L&R hanging around with the likes of Joy Division, Jesus & Mary Chain, Echo & the Bunnymen, and of course Bauhaus.Or they would probably be in a corner all to themselves. The point is, L&R made some of THE best darker, gothic sounding, moody, ambient, depressing, uplifting, sinister, sensual, quirky, cool, and hip 'alternative' music...EVER.If you ever want to experience being in a drugged out, dream-like, audio-sensory high, look no further than this group. This collection, while acceptable at 15 songs and around $10, is sorely missing this aspect though. Here's my version of what their 'best of' should be; or at least, the songs that will put you in that special (drug-free) 'high'.
5-0 out of 5 stars A great band

I don't really have to say much about this item, so I'll some it up in two words, H.I.M. ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars good stuff
lots of good remixes, and rareties. last in my collection, now i've got it all.

5-0 out of 5 stars the single collection essential
this "album" is essential to any true to worship H-I-M fan. it had most of, if not all, the singles up to DSBH. lots of rarities, lives, and unheard of's. my only complaint is that buying The Single Collection takes the fun out of ebaying and scouring online for each individual single, by hand. it takes the fun out of searching and digging, being a fan at heart. oh well, doesn't mean you can't get the 'version with 1 song only." ... 5-0 out of 5 stars some hits, some of Peter's fave's
As far as greatest hits albums, this one delivers just because Peter's hits are just masterful. If I was going to be nitpicky, I'd complain that this compilation does not capture all of his best work, but the collection clearly captures some of Peter's own favorites -- such as 'Deep Ocean Vast Sea', 'Dragnet Drag' and 'Jemal'. While all good songs, they probably mean more to Peter than some of his most devout fans. I would have liked to have seen 'Marlene Dietrich's Favorite Poem', 'Blind Sublime', or 'Crystal Wrists' myself.
5-0 out of 5 stars Don't get me wrong!
Some supposed fans did not buy the album for sure as they did not see "All night long" song on the album??It is on mine (track 11) and was the major reason why I have bought it.This song is really awsome with french speaking in it (done like an extract of Zelda game). Also, there is not 5 but 4 songs from "Cascade" album.5-0 out of 5 stars A great voice
Since I hear for the first time "All night long", in a brazilian radio, in the 80's, I've never been the same to hear music. He surprises anyone at every time, in every song, with his powerful voice, and his gothic atmosphere. Yes, atmospheric, this is the best definition to a singer that creates with real feeling, making something that is really deep, and at the same time, cool. It's impossible to hear "Subway" and don't hear it again and again...passing the tracks, "I'll Fall With You Knife" is there, beatiful...and so many other songs, all beatiful. So,I think that "Wild Birds" is a good choice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
You can't make a HIM greatest hits cause all of their songs rock, but this cd is good for people who haven't listened to HIM before.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Epitome of Goth Romance
Love, death, and more love. HIM is flawless in this collection. This CD encompasses the epitome of Goth romance. I have two copies. One for my car and one for home. It's extremely difficult to pick a favorite track or two but if I must...they would be "Join Me" and the amazing cover of Chris Isaac's "Wicked Game". The lyrics to this whole collection are simultaneously creative, beautiful, and dark. The music passionate and crisp. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the pleasure and pain of both love and death.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Best Band Ever" Yo!
The best thing about HIM is that not only do they kick ass in the studio, their live performances kick even more ass! And Love Said No, has some of their best songs ever, but there are truely soooo many more. If you haven't heard a HIM song yet I stongly urge you to. Lead singer Ville Valo is an incredible artist, vocally and lyrically.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ignore Show
SHOW is just a cash-in on the pop hits that have been played too many times. PARIS is a fantastic live CD that shows The Cure to be brave enough to release dark songs that are much less well-known. I'm especially pleased with the inclusion of "Dressing Up" from THE TOP. Always a nice song, it's even better live, and no one seems to have ever heard of it, which is a shame.
5-0 out of 5 stars This along with Show makes for a fine live experience
I had Show for years and really liked it but kept reading reviews that talked about the superiority of Paris.I ordered a used copy from amazon and found the reviews to be true.Show is still highly recommended but if you're a big fan of the group you'll also want to get Paris.

This collection is amazing, bring it all back for us. I am thrilled to hear Hollow Hills, Silent Hedges, and Shes in Parties once again. The only track missing on this best of is Bela Lugosi's Dead and that is the sad part. For those of you unfamiliar to Bauhaus, they are amounth the original Gothic bands from the 1980s in the UK. Others in the scene are: The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshiees, The Cramps etc I think you will like this collection of you like them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unique, diverse, rich
Man oh man oh man; I cannot fathom these 1 star reviews by people. There must be SOMETHING they just DON'T get about this album, because it's brilliant.I won't go into specifics, but let me just say that I own every single Cure album and song ever released, from Three Imaginary Boys in '79 to Self-Titled in '04, along with the Join the Dots (B-Sides and Rarities) release in '04.In any case, my point is that I know ALL Cure.Everything.Many fans will compare this to other Cure releases such as "Disintegration" or "Pornography" or "Faith" or "Wish" and diss the heck out of it...just seems bizarre and strange to me.This album has so many eclectic features and and an incredible range of diversity, yet it is still held together by all things Cure. The songs are downright beautiful. For people to call this slosh and self-indulgent is just plain ignorant. To attack the lyrical content is downright immature. So what if he's singing about cheating? Each song is unique with a wide array of themes.Pay no regard to the bad reviews. You can trust me as someone who has everything The Cure has released that this is a more-than-worthy addition to your collection.I actually prefer the second half of the disc more than the first, but still love the first half as well.Do it up and treat your ears to a real work of art.

1-0 out of 5 stars I tried
I was a huge Cure fan in the 90s. When this came out I really really wanted it to be great. I listened to it many times. I remember none of the songs and didn't like ONE song on the CD. If you want an underrated Cure CD, go get Wish. Don't even bother with this one. Completely forgetable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Much Better Than You're Being Led To Believe
Wild Mood Swings is not a bad cd.Many of the negative reviews come right out and admit to trying to pull the rating of this cd down. Why?It usually comes down to being stuck in the past. There are a lot of people who cannot accept Robert Smith doing anything outside of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me or Disintegration.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great-sounding collection, with a retro gem
This CD has the first Creatures song I ever heard, the delirious "Right Now," which if I recall dates back to 1983.This Las Vegas-like number sounds sort of like what Siouxsie and Budgie might do if they were to lure Frank Sinatra into some type of bizarre collaboration.Siouxsie kicks off the song in a tense, husky warble that soon explodes into an all-out swing dance, with bongos and a brass section that could have come straight out of the 1960's.
5-0 out of 5 stars far edge
terribly fascinating and soothing tracks with a master percussionist and his visionary goddess on magical vocals.5-0 out of 5 stars Souxsie and Budgie make love in public

Tones On Tail was a real cool discovery for me. It is dark, clever pop with just the right dose of quirkiness tossed in for good measure. I liked this music a lot in the early 80's and I still enjoy it today.

3-0 out of 5 stars Worth Checking Out: An Opinion from a Non-Fan
About the Band:
5-0 out of 5 stars talented synth
This is good synth music with some substance. Alot of the new synth is awful euro dance crap. This is not this is up there with Iris, depeche, omd, de/vision.

5-0 out of 5 stars Meaningful
I chanced upon this Album in Iraq under some unusual circumstances. I had first heard of Wolfsheim in 1996, just before ending my first stint in the Army in Germany. I loved the then recently released album Traumende Affen (Dreaming Apes), especially the song Closer Still, which had lyrics that fit perfectly a situation I was in as a shy guy with a crush on an unusually beautiful PFC from another unit. I would listen to Wolfsheim occasionally until losing my entire CD collection when I got married and had to leave Germany on short notice. I never thought much about them again until, once again in the Army, I found myself in the Iraqi desert. Desperate to vanquish boredom and armed with a new iPod, I became a shameless pirate, getting MP3 versions of Wolfsheim's latest album, Casting Shadows, and 17 unidentified tracks that a friend had just 'gotten' somewhere. The first 11 of those tracks had an unusual character, distinct from the last 5. A number of the songs were positively amazing, and I would listen to them much more than songs from Casting Shadows (though that album is quite a good record also). I thought that I remembered a number of the tracks from the album I once had in 1996. (I had forgotten the title of the album, by the way.) So I sought out to find out where those tracks came from, and bought No Happy View, their 1992 album. None of the unknown songs that I thought were so great were on it. It had some good songs, but overall it wasn't nearly as good as Casting Shadows or these mystery tracks. An average synth album. Dismayed, I ordered Pop Killer (paying import prices), hoping that it wold have some of the songs on it. It still has not come in. Recently, I moved to another post and came upon the technology to get on the Apple Music Store. I downloaded Dreaming Apes and learned that this was the album I had in 1996, and that indeed it was wonderful, but I was wrong in my thinking that some of the unknown songs were on it. Completely frustrated, I just went ahead and got Spectators from Apple. To my surprise, the 11 songs that were so great were the entire Spectators album. I did not need to get the album from Apple. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Last Great Shadows
This was definitly the last superb Cruxshadows album, all the follow ups are lifeless underdramatised dribble or a bland remix EP in comparason with this fantastic album!"Return (Coming Home)" is definitly one of my favorite tracks of all time, the poetry is beautiful, the carefully blended instruments are spinetingling and Rogues beautiful organic vocals is the cherry on top!Other standout tracks: "Spectators", "The Seraphs", the tragically dancable "Tears", the social-emotional-politically moving "Resistr" and ofcourse the cosmically philosophical "Carnival" is one to watch out for!

5-0 out of 5 stars !!
When I first heard "Wishfire", I wasn't sure what I had been given, but I quickly grew attached to it.Songs like "Tears", "Binary", "Return/Coming Home", and "Resist" were so much fun, while "Go Away" and "Orphean Wing" were so melancholy and deep... I recommend this cd to anyone with a love for gothic/ebm/darkwave music and an open mind.It deserves *10* stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars I am the Wishfire!
This cd is mindblowing. It was the first Cruxshadows CD I ever heard and it turned me into a fiercely loyal fan.The songs are strong, dark, and powerful with gorgeous lyrical imagery, irresistable beats, and an electric violin that sets the Cruxshadows apart from all the other goth acts out there. They blend dark romanticism with myth, and war-songs with 80's style, and lovesongs with morbidity. It's definately not an album to be overlooked. It will become a part of you. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Fool me once...
Amazon keeps recommending this to me because I like 45 Grave.
4-0 out of 5 stars Not Just For the Shy/Skinny DR kids!
When I bought this on vinyl in 1984, you didn't have all the sub-genres you have now.You also didn't have easy access to new music (e.g. the internet). If you saw a used record that looked even remotely punk, you bought it.Especially if you saw it was on Frontier, and had Rikk Agnew from the Adolescents!Hence my introduction to Christian Death. What started off as a "fluke" purchase became one of my favorite records. While I could never get into the whole "goth" thing, I've always been a fan of this album.Nice to see that it is now "new & improved" with (6) bonus trax. The original vinyl only had the 1st (10) songs.Of the (6) bonus trax, I will comment on (4) of 'em:
5-0 out of 5 stars The Best DeathRock CD EVER!!!
The Cd of Only Theater of pain was the first Cd ever that got me to go to the darker side of music. When i heard thsi Cd it was awsome. Very meaninful and dark lyrics that Rozz Williams had made for this album. The other very beautiful CD is Ashes. He is the best most original rocker that i have seen. A from this point i have not heard a CD that can pass Rozz's masterpiece of Only Theater of Pain. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights
Have you been properly introduced to H.I.M. yet? What are you waiting for?!This album, IMO, is the best album to get acquainted with their music. This album is kick a** from the door...not one bad song on it.This album solidified my commitment as now being forever a fan.You don't have to be GOTH to like this music. It is straight up melodic rock with catchy choruses and harmonies. The lyrics this guy writes will blow you mind.It captures you like nothing else could in music today. The sound of this band is what has been missing with the rock world for many years now. BUY IT PEOPLE!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost able to complete your collection . . . . almost.
I remember when I first saw this album in the "New Release" section of the "Alternative" aisle at my local record store (which was over 10 years ago, by the way). I about flipped my wig because I thought the Sisters had . . . finally . . . followed up "Vision Thing" with a surprise new release! Well, I was still pleasantly surprised to see that it was merely a collection of their early singles and EPs, but I was admittedly a bit let down that it wasn't a shiny new release. Still, "Some Girls Wander By Mistake" is ESSENTIAL for your Sisters collection.
4-0 out of 5 stars :)
The item came to me in good condition and shipped with great care.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some Girls Wander By Mistake~ Sisters of Mercy
I distinctly remember listening to this cd in a store in Gothenburg in the summer of 1992.I had just turned 18 a month or so ago and I thouhgt it was astounding. I had never heard anything like it. So untamed and out of control and very cutting edge and different. Even though I do not dress like that anymore and my palate has grown considerably I still consider it to be a grand album with amazing tracks such as the extended temple of love, heartland and 1969. The book-let is great with all the images of the the singles and eps. The story written by Eldritch is hillarious and inteligent at the same time. This is a very well done compilation from the very intriguing mind of a certain Andrew Eldritch. ... Read more
