5-0 out of 5 stars yes.
relient k and anberlin got together, had a baby, and named it run kid run. fantastic use of the stop and go guitars. the chords they use aren't the standard power chords and most points and that's refreshing. super catchy, you'll want to bounce around when listening to it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A very fun pop-punk cd!
Run Kid Run are not the most original band out there. OKAY!
2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
When I picked this cd up at my local Christian bookstore, I had heard very few of Run Kid Run's songs. As I started to listen to the cd, I was expecting to be surprized by how good they were. As it was, I was slightly disappointed. This band is nothing new. They combine Relient K's music with vocals from Green Day, Hawk Nelson, Olivia the Band and Relient K. That's it. All of the songs sound the same, and nothing stands out. The one song I like Is Wake Up, Get Out. Over all, This Is Who We Are is not worth the 14 bucks I paid for it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing.
This would be worth it even if it just contained either "Closer" or "Half Right". Both of those songs are AMAZING. Especially the "Half Right" cover, they managed to stay true to the original. As a heavyJEW fan, it was nice to finally hear the Heatmiser song they refer to in "Kill" (off of Futures). Must have for any fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jimmy Eat World is amazing
Stay on My Side Tonight includes the amazing song "Closer" - I actually already bought this cd on iTunes but it was so good I wanted to have the whole package, case and insert and everything.

4-0 out of 5 stars Progressive Emo?
Ok, ok, they hate the emo tag. I'll stop with that. But when you consider the genre Jimmy Eat World are often lumped in with, they sure stick out like a sore thumb. Songwriting that is always heartfelt and top-notch, without being a bit corny, coupled with professional musicianship, these guys have always stood out from the pack. In 2004, they released the highly anticipated "Futures," which packed a whallop with huge choruses and hooky arrangements. To follow it up, or perhaps bridge the gap until their next album, this very small EP, "Stay On My Side Tonight," was released last fall and went by virtually unnoticed.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite CD- and trust me I have many.
I would rate this CD higher than 5 stars if I could! It is my favorite cd and I listen to every single song on it equally! All are amazing! I feel like I could fall into the sky and just listen to it if that even makes sense! While I was in Japan I promoted Acceptance and everyone I let listen to it thought it was amazing. I would buy this cd all over again just to prove how much I love it! If you don't buy it you are missing out on my personal favorite cd...and some of the best songs I have ever heard in my life!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
This cd has some amazing songs on it, and some very average ones. The songs at the end seem to blend together a bit, but there are definately some great ones.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Album! No complaints!
This is an excellent album! All of the songs are well-written, original, and catchy. The lead singer has a freaking awesome voice! I discovered Acceptance through iTunes. Their single "Different" was the free download of the week. After a couple days of jamming to "Different," I went to the nearest record store and picked up the album. I was instantly a fan! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite album, period!
You can listen to the entire album straight, not just a couple of good songs, but an entire album of great songs!

1-0 out of 5 stars hmm
After a good listen.... I think they should have stuck to their day job.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love it!!! Buy it!!
I have had this album for a while. I have listened to it more times than I can count. All I can say is that this is a amazing album. I never seem to get sick of it. "the perfect ending" is one of my favorites. It is really simplistic and has so much emotion to it. Well... the whole Cd has emotion to it but, that song really sticks out for me. This CD is quite a bit more calm and mellow than Taking Back Sunday. Every song is unique and has its own feel to it. This album is definetly worth listening to.

5-0 out of 5 stars What happened to Pezz ??
Well I'v been following Billy Talent sinse they were called Pezz... I dont know if anyone really remembers that far back when they released there first album "Watoosh!". My favourite song from that album without a doubt was When I Was A Little Girl closely followed up by Bird In The Basement, they really made the band. But I have always wondered why they changed the name of their band I mean what was wrong with Pezz ?? I love Pezz they are the best lollies in the world... Who knows maybe they didn't want to be mistaken for a lolly. Anyway you guys are still high up in my charts although I beleive Billy Talent was a better album then Billy Talent II. Why ?? Because there where was way more hits on Billy Talent that could have gone all the way and there was a lot more use of Ben Harper's strange but addicting screaming. So if anyone remembers the days of Pezz and the reason for the name change please comment I would love to know.

4-0 out of 5 stars seeing these guys live makes you..
..wanna ask where these guys get there energy from. Billy Talent, the boys from Mississauga, Ontario. They went to the high school i currently attend (Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Secondary School). They came two years ago and i regret not going down to the cafeteria now because back then all i would listen to was hip hop. These guys are great. It also shows me that i can become a musician despite where i live. Best tracks are: Try Honesty, Line

AFI-Very Proud Of Ya *****
5-0 out of 5 stars The Good Old Days
If you started listening to AFI when this cd was released then you know they changed the sound big time. For me that is when I said "I 'll just stick to the first two cds". I'm really not in to thier whole new "hardcore" style they have now. I just saw the video on MTV for the latest single and boy what a laugh. I guess it happens to a lot of bands. But it sucks when they change from a band you like to hear, to band that hurts your ears. I still remember seeing them open up for Guttermouth in 1996 and then hearing this cd played in the record store, buying it like a week after it came out and having many bedroom concerts..hahaha Those were The Good Old Days.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, if a bit generic
Much like "Answer That and Stay Fashionable" (which was releasedbefore "Very Proud of Ya" on a different label before being rereleased by Nitro after the latter was released) this is AFI in their punk phase, before the harder and darker influences began to take over. This release is slightly darker than their previous release in that their are no real novelty songs and most of its tunes tend to have a "dark" focus, but its still basically three quickly played chords backing up Davey's whiney voice. I group this one with their first record because its basically the same sound, if a little more developed.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Audition ~Controversy Loves Company~

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
SO, I'm not a kid. I'm actually 17, but I never spend time on amazon, so you get the point. Anyway, I really hate most new music these days. It all sounds the same. Nobody ever catches my attention anymore, and of all the so-called "AmAzInG" bands that rule the scene, 90% of them don't impress me. ANYWAY, I really REALLY liked "controversy loves company" by the audition. I wouldn't have even known about this band had it not been for a friend, and now, I'm telling everyone I know! The last modern CD I ever actually got the urge to buy was Green Day's "warning", and that was like 5 years ago! Trust me, the audition are worth knowing about. Even if you hate most new music, "controversy loves company" is a must have. You'll be playing it until the plastic chips, and that's no lie!

5-0 out of 5 stars uh-may-zing.
okay, i never review anything for amazon.ever.at all.until i bought this cd.every song is awesome.this is not one of those cd's where the two singles sound awesome with the rest of the songs sounding mediocre and bland.every song sounds as powerful as the last.i highly recommend this for anyone/everyone.i can already tell that theaudition is going to be the next "it" band. ... Editorial Review

Sunny Day Real Estate broke up in 1995 when bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith left to join the Foo Fighters or when frontman Jeremy Enigk converted to Christianity, depending on whom you ask. The band got back together in the summer of 1997 (minus Mendel, replaced by former Mommyheads bassist Jeff Palmer) to jam, and a full album blossomed. The result, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tragically ahead of their time
Of the first three SDRE albums, I find this one the most fascinating. It has very little in common with the first two, whichtangled sometimes jarringly with emo and stoner rock. Diary and LP2 are both important documents of 90s music, but they don't have the confident polish and grace of How It Feels. While the first two often used chugging rhythms and voice-cracking vocals, How It Feels comes off as an indie rock album that could have come out last week (and I mean that in a good way).
5-0 out of 5 stars Feeling Something On
Best Sunny Day Real Estate Record.Period.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Masterpiece****1/2
SDRE is a two sided coin. The first side encompasses their first two albums; raw, bleeding-heart, tortured, love-obsessed, low-fi.The flipside represents the latter half of their albums; grandiose, poetic, sweeping, accomplished, passionate. Both sides have a common theme; emotion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hell of a way to go out
This is a great album, though it has a much more polished sound than their previous work. This may be a problem for some, but it's full of great songs and if you had nothing to compare it to you'd be blown away with no questions asked. Hard to believe this was the final act for Jawbreaker.

4-0 out of 5 stars My mouth is open, my book is shut.
I had never heard of Jawbreaker until reading an interview with Blake - then in Jets to Brazil - in Giant Robot magazine back in 2001.
5-0 out of 5 stars That Rare Perfect Album
I've said this before (very rarely, mind you) but this is a perfect record.A friend of mine used to play this at work around the time he was dropping out of high school (and for many years after). He epitomized every lyric on "Dear You."He actually dropped out of school for admirable reasons (faculty and teachers didn't respect the students) and I really admire him for doing it.(By the way, he is now in his second year at a major university and is a straight "A" student.)He's cool because he stands up for what he believes in and does things his own way (not to spite others but because he doesn't need to "fit in.")This is the album version of his life.It very eloquently expresses the angst (real angst, not the cliched version postured by so many "alternative rock bands" today), hurt, guilt, pain, and even love (and lust) experienced by your average young person (but in a completely above average way)."Dear You" is one of those rare, absolutely honest, artistic records where everything rings true (lyrics, music, attitude, and even the production quality). It is a deeply inspired piece of work. That's saying a lot for punk/pop album. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Discovering a better sound
I have to admit I never really liked Silverstein's first album "When Broken Is Easily Fixed", I found the music to be just like every other band except worst, and his voice sounded terrible, now I am quite lucky that there was nothing better in the shop for me to spend my money on, because this album is way way above the level of their old album, the first thing we notice is the lead singer's voice, it has definitely improved and I could honestly say I like it now, also there si much less screaming which helps their music sound better, the second thing you notice is the definite improvement in guitar works, there is not a single part of a song that just relies on chords, melody is omnipresent. The drumwork is also much better and the overall effect of these mark a definite improvement and help create a much more polished album than their last release. Silverstein composed a lot of different styles of songs, as much as the hardcore emo "my sword versus you dagger" or emo ballads like "Discovering the waterfront" and of course their hit "Smile In Your Sleep" which is a truly beautiful song, so if you didn't like the old Silverstein too much, I still advise you to give this one a try, and if you liked the old one, this one could become your album of the year. A must-have for anyone who wants a complete collection of emo, well done Silverstein, you have made me fall in love again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great
Silverstein is the very essence of emo. They have some EXTREMELY talented guitar players. wow. The lead singer's voice is Amazing, and the lyrics are wonderful. By far one of the most professional bands in the industry. This record doesn't sound like some kid recording from his garage. I definitely recommend it, but only if you're not looking to be cheered up.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this cd-you'll regret it
Wow, I hope Precious M was joking when she/he said that the lead singer would brag about how he's a "musical genious". Musical idiot is more like it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Still a good Buy
When i firsted listened to it i put it away and didn't both with putting it on again untill i ripped it to a mp3 cd for the car and now that it has grown on me it has become one regular tunes for my ears. looiking at there other cd's it's still not the best but if you do like some of there Songs then it's still a good buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good CD, from a not so good band.
Stories and Alibies is an excellent album. It's origional, catchy. Upbeat, and carries a beat. What is a joke is the band. They suck live. I give their crew a lot of credit for making this album sound good. Becuase they didn't sound good live, and they sound good on here. They are deffinately an album band. Good on CD, bad in person. Also, their other releases suck. They are a one hit wonder. They need to see what style works for them, and what doesn't. On their first ep, they tried to be screamo, and it was disgusting. Un orgional, he has a terrible screamo voice. Than on their full length, they went to emo, smart choice. He has great melody. Turned out to be a great CD, than their new CD (which isn't out yet, I downloaded it. It's called Voices), Is completely awful. They are now a weird rock style, which is neither instrumentally impressive, nore vocally impressive. It's garbage. I've lost respect with them. I like when bands change styles and all, if it's for the better. But if you have a good formula, why change? Buy this album and none of their others. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Every Band Evolves
I've heard the full catalog of Alkaline Trio and every album offers somthing different. If they were to write and sing songs that sounded the same and constantly touched on the same topics then they would get flamed for that. Why is it people can't just let a band change over time instead of producing the same songs over and over again. If Weezer did that then noone would like any album after "Pinkerton" because it would get compared to every song as an abomination or combination of two gems from the original album.Say what you want but this is a good album. The songs are well done, well written and they even make an effort to touch on their orignal songs in tracks like "Burn" and "Back to Hell".
3-0 out of 5 stars Impressed... 3.5 Stars..
I bought this CD on a whim without having heard much of it. That said, after having listened too it awhile it has impressed me. It isn't the most groundbreaking album I've ever heard, but its just good music. Compared with older Alkaline Trio cd's this does have a more mature sound. However, it does have the feeling that they are trying to attract a broader audience, so it does have a more pop feeling too it. While I wouldn't call it over-produced, for lack of a better word, thats the feeling this album gives you. You can tell by the album cover that it has a more "produced" feeling too it. But thats not a bad thing in my opinion.
2-0 out of 5 stars Just another band
I'm not really feeling this album.A coworker recommended it to me adamantly, and said that "Mercy Me" is the best song on the album.Well, they were right about that, with "Time to Waste" following in second place. All other songs kind of lag behind and/or sound too similar to other songs.I love the piano introduction to "Time to Waste," and "Mercy Me" is catchy, but other than that this album is a waste of time.Crimson is the color of my tears of boredom. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Finch's Best CD
If you have never heard Finch before, then this is the CD you should listen to. Their other CD "Say Hello to Sunshine" is deffinately not their best. "What It Is To Burn" has a lot more talent than their new CD. Don't Say Hello to Sunshine, Say Hello to What It Is To Burn. This cd may have a lot of songs that sound alike but after your 2nd or 3rd time listening to it, you'll realize that they're all different and they're all amazing. Their best track on this CD is "Ender" and "What It Is To Burn". My least favorite is "Project Mayhem", only because it's repetitive. It sounds the same throughout the whole song, and it just flat out isn't good. But besides that song, the whole CD is great. You should buy it. And as for the other CD "Say Hello To Sunshine", all I'm going to say is that it's deffinately not as good as this CD. So you should get this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums of all time
Simply stated, this album is a masterpiece. It has everything one would want from an album. It has great songwriting, great music, great lyrics, and most of all great emotion. This album will evoke emotions, probably nostalgic ones, but emotions none the less.
2-0 out of 5 stars dissapointing
WHen I first bought this record I was real excited i thought I had found a new band that was great. The first song started out all right, but by the fourth or fifth song I was bored out of my mind. I finished the cd up, gave it a few more tries, and then stuck it on my shelf. I will give it this: it has a limited appeal to people who like the stuff that they play on the radio, but if you dont care for the stuff they play on the radio, then skip over this and catalog it with the other 9,000 bands that sound just like them...again another case of talented musicians who strive to make music for the appeal of the mass public...well, it just didnt do anything for me. ... Enjoyment of the Starting Line is entirely dependent upon how you like your punk-pop. If, like Blink 182, you like it light, with a healthy spoonful of immaturity, then you'll be disappointed with the songs on Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best CD Ever!
this is literally my favorite CD from anybody...this is a pop/rock kind of CD and every song well produced...if you like their first EP (With Hopes of Starting Over) then you'll definitely like this, Leaving, Saddest Girl Story and Cheek To Cheek have been re-recorded from their old EP versions and i have to say they are phenomenal! But yes i will admit the CD is kind of repetitive but if you don't mind all songs to like The Best of Me (their first single) then i guarantee you will love this CD...this is well worth the money...hha in fact i'm listening to them right now! so what are you waiting for? go out and buy it!

4-0 out of 5 stars . . good
The songs are great, nice vocals, lyrics, everything. Except almost every song in the whole album is pretty much about the same thing.
4-0 out of 5 stars Go0od
I like this cd alot. I wish they were as popular as they were a few years ago. Watch them on FUSE on July 1, 2006 as they show their concert on the "Project this b****!" concert series.

When hirsute El Paso, Texas, emo godsAt the Drive-In abruptlycalled it quits and split into two factions--unofficially, the afros and non-afros--dismayed fans feared that it spelled the end for their pummeling,tight-wire guitar rock. Not so. While hairy frontman Cedric Bixler and guitaristOmar Rodriguez did, indeed, venture into weirdo space jazz under the name theMars Volta, guitarist Jim Ward, bassist Paul Hinojos, and drummer Tony Hajjarstay on course as Sparta. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great album.
This album start to finish is simply awesome and rocking. Some people don't seem to like Jim's voice compared to Cedric's but personally I've always preferred Jim's.If you like rock in the vein of Fugazi, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, and older Jimmy Eat World you should definitely check this out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great album, but not At the drive-in
Everyone who knew ATDI makes judgements on the Mars Volta and Sparta, saying one is better than the other.I think both bands are great and there is no reason to choose one being better than the other. This a very good album on its own merit.THIS BAND IS NOT ATDI, and NEITHER IS THE MARS VOLTA.If you want to hear ATDI, my advice is listen to ATDI.

3-0 out of 5 stars punkish emo.
i'd say this cd is for people who listened to in casino/out and got worried they'd never feel that feeling again. this isn't as energetic or even good as that cd, but you will like it if you listen. im not here to talk about originality, or emo, or energy, or carrying on legacies of the predecessor band. they should try to move on if anything, and i think that's genuinely what they're doing. from what i can gather, tmv accuses sparta of holding on to atdi for security, and if they were trying to do that, i think it would be a little bit more noticeable. just because they turned out punk and tmv turned out prog doesn't mean crap. cedric and omar are a little full of themselves, they think they're great artists now that they make an unusual and depressing concept into music, when conor oberst does that in his sleep. okay, im off my rant. i wonder if anybody understood that.

3-0 out of 5 stars A near miss
For fans of the band's immense Page Avenue, this album essentially walks the correct path. The songwriting is much of the same: gentle waves of sorrow and longing to be crashed upon by Marsala's impressive raptor-like wail.
1-0 out of 5 stars your going down.
this album sucks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost As Good As It Gets For Pop Punk
Ever since the day I picked up "This Is A Stickup... Don't Make It A Murder" nearly six months ago, it has been in constant rotation from my cd collection. Now of course Hit The Lights are not innovating the pop-punk sound that is already known and has been established for quite a few years now, but along with a handful of other bands (My American Heart, The Audition, Paramore), they are helping to call attention back to a genre that seems to have been losing relevance lately. I guarantee if you have been looking for an album chock full of sing-a-long style choruses, catchy melodies and plenty of upbeat, rocking songs, then you should rush yourself to your local record store and get your hands on a copy of this album.
4-0 out of 5 stars Short on substance, but enjoyable
So, in case you haven't noticed, HTL is probably going to be the next fall out boy/new found glory pop-punk megahit. Their music is littered with hooks, injected with energy waiting to be danced/moshed to by pop-punkers everywhere. It would seem that with the ammount of new school punkers "maturing", a new band would steer clear of a somewhat generic sound, but HTL don't seem to care, because nothing about their debut screams "original" or "mature". I agree with the reviewer who compaired 'stick up' to 'sticks and stones'. The lead singer sounds ALOT like nfg's jordan pundik, and 'these backs were made for stabbing', along with a bunch of other tracks, sound like they were ripped from the nfg playbook. So, I guess if you enjoyed "Take this to your grave", "Sticks and stones" or ever "Chroma", you'll for sure like "stick up". If not, don't even bother, cuz' there's nothing here for a non pop-punk fan

5-0 out of 5 stars my favorite, maybe yours too
Hit The Lights is a fun band that makes a great live act full of energy and excitement. Ever since my friend introduced me to their EP "Until we Get Caught" i've been hooked, and have considered them my favorite band since. my favorite tracks on the cd include:

4-0 out of 5 stars From The Depths Of Dreams Review
Sense fail in a quintet that knows how to play. Their only real problem was their genre choice. However they managed to become one of the only real "EMO/Screamo" bands. Most bands these days just talk about losing their girlfriends and being sad, but senses fail goes further than that, and this album shows it. With great basslines; hard, powerful drumming; guitar riffs that only get better in their full-legnth "Let It Enfold You"; and lyrics and vocals from Buddy that show you exactly what Emo is supposed to be. This first album hits the nail on the head. They have powerful imagery in their lyrics and different perspectives on heartache, death, and more. They progress superbly and scream to accentuate the tone. If your into the "Emo/Screamo" genre, definitely get this. And if you dislike that genre, this is one album you should check out; see if you still dislike it when it's done right.

4-0 out of 5 stars From the Depths of Dreams.......
First off people...PLEASE stop bashing posting review for bands you don't like. All you are doing is wasting space. Anyway about this EP...I actually really enjoyed it, much more than even their full length CD. You can feel the emotion and energy in each of their songs while the lyrics for the most part are stunning in my oppinion there is still room for improvement -- as there always is-- but not as much as in other bands. I feel that even now there is alot of untapped potential for these guys, that only needs time to blossum and grow. Ok, songs to look out for (In my oppinion) 1. The Ground Folds, 2. Free Fall without a Parachute, 3. Hand Guns and Second Chances. Though IMO each song brings something new to the table and none should be missed out on.
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty decent
Let's start off, if i give this album 5 stars doesnt mean i'm comparing it with other cd's such as Metallica's Master of puppets or Pink Floyd for that matter. I am not comparing it to those bands and their cds. In its own respect I give it 4 stars. The vocals are sometimes off, the guitar is pretty basic, but I like it. I'm not going to say it changed my life, but I do enjoy banging my head to it every now and then. When I write reviews I don't compare it. If I like it, I like it, if I don't then too bad. Doesn't mean that genre sucks or it will never be as good as the classics. Whatever. 4 stars ... Read more
