4-0 out of 5 stars bad price great item
i cannot complain about the cd in general, but the ... price seems a bit high just to get the rerecorded even flow, the only track not available elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get It For Track 3
As with all CD singles, get this one if you happen to be a Pearl Jam fanatic, looking for more stuff by the band. The first two tracks (ALIVE, ONCE) are taken from TEN. But it's Track 3, WASH, that is worth the purchase here. It's melodic, haunting and reminds one of other great PJ songs of this type like OCEANS, RELEASE and INDIFFERENCE. The lyrics flourish and Vedder's voice carries the mood of the song perfectly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Pearl Jam
It's my opinion that if you don't already have copies of "Wash" or "Dirty Frank," this CD is well worth the twenty-five bucks. The re-recorded version of "Even Flow," which was used in the music video, is a step above the Ten version as far as intensity goes.Eddie's vocals are so much more energetic, Abruzzese beats out Krusen on the drums, and Stone does this awesome palm-muted guitar riff after the second and third choruses that just drives it home. The "Alive" version is from the music video too and it's good."Wash" and "Dirty Frank" are cool collectibles. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars fans will enjoy, newcomers may not be convinced
Track listing is out of sequence. Performance varies from fairly energetic but not exactly rocking, to woozy. I expected something folkier. Snappy take on "The Yip! Song", cute a cappella harmonizing on "Uncorrected". When the band takes on its well-played, medium-slow, shiny, langorous groove, the words don't stand out quite enough, and the music loses me, as is typical in Robyn Hitchcock's post Soft Boys bands; "Globe of Frogs" works with this treatment, the rest is just okay. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Linkin Park - #1
If you're a Linkin Park fan you must get this cd. I accidentaly came across this one and I totally loved it. This cd offers 3 live songs (Papercut, Points Of Authority & A Place For My Head), album version of In The End and 3 b-side songs (Step Up, My December & High Voltage). It's worth to get this album just because of the b-side song, cause they're just awesome songs. My favourite is High Voltage, cause it includes a bit more rap than other Linkin Park songs. And also My December stands out, because it's an easy, really nice ballad. Step Up, we can say, is a typical song of Linkin Park. And also, you just have to love Linkin Park live. The performance of those 3 live songs is just great. So if you're a Linkin Park fan, you must get this cd. And if you're not, get it anyways and you just might become one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I think it's really a great album. To me,the live track may sound terrible but it's a more 'live' version & not like Live In Texas-which was edited to much.

3-0 out of 5 stars LP is GREAT, but the live audio on this CD is terrible
I LOVE Linkin Park and the studio tracks on this import CD are fine. However, the audio is horrible on the live tracks. When Chester starts singing on "A Place for my Head" it sounds like it was recorded by someone with a tape recorder in the audience. It's pretty clear why this is an import and was not released in the US (even though you can get it here).I do not think this devalues LP at all in any way.Despite the terrible quality of the sound, you can still tell how great they are.I would just save my money and get the US CDs instead (Live in Texas is FANTASTIC if you want an alternative to the poorly recorded live tracks on this CD--but you have to join LPU 3 to get the tracks on Live in Texas DVD that aren't on the CD--but that is worth the money too!). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
I bought this mainly because I'm a completist who fell in love with the Cranes a few months ago and had already acquired all the bands studio albums.I'm normally not crazy about live albums, but this is an exception.Whatever it is about the Cranes that makes them so compelling (a combination of sincerity, mystery, tenderness and drive?) is really here in spades. The song selection is weighted toward their more recent stuff, especially Future Songs, but even if you have that album, this is a really beautiful "must have" in my opinion as well.Exceptionally good recording and engineering, and even more of a tug at the heartstrings than their best recent studio work.Get it if you like the Cranes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Piling on
As said, the reviews already posted do a good job of speaking to this CD's merits. But what the heck, nobody knows who this band is (hardly), and considering that 99% of the music released is pure dreck, it's a shame and a pity for stuff this good to stay under the radar. It's unique music by talented people who have been doing it for a long time.It can't be for love of money, I don't see how they survive as it is, so it must be for the music. It shows.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bliss...
Like you've read in every other review previous to mine this is truely a gem. Having stumbled upon Cranes' "Future Song" a few months back after one listen I was hooked, this group shines live as all true musicians do. If you are a fan of similar groups like Hooverphonic,Mono,Halou,Bows, etc. I highly recommend giving Cranes a listen especially this live collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fall -live at the witchtrials
I love this album. For years I had it on a tape together with Dragnet. Finally got it on CD. This album sounds stripped down, nothing fancy just great music and Mark E Smiths distinctive voice. The entire album was recorded in one day and mixed the following day. The Fall are an underrated band to come out of the punk / post-punk era of England. This album sounds just as good today as it did when I first heard it some 17 years ago. Although it is the Fall's first album it sounds remarkably mature and together. Highly recommended to those who have an open mind to music.

5-0 out of 5 stars astounding
the fall do it all. If the glove don't fit brothers and sisters thenyou must definetly aquit

5-0 out of 5 stars Kinetic Explosion, Wild Ride of Colors
The album is a magnificent creation. The music consists of disparate elements (awesome spikey guitar, busy drumming, simplistic keyboards, bass, and slurring barking voice), held together by passion and energy. This band posessed more ambition and ability than their peer group (Sex Pistols, Clash, Jam, PIL, Sioxsie & Banshees, Gang of 4, and other great bands). It's a mystery to me why they weren't more appreciated.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Together in Concert Live - Tim Finn Bic Runga & Dave Dobbyn
A great CD with not one dud track.
4-0 out of 5 stars Thanks, Mr. Bus Driver!
Just got back from my first visit to NZ (3 weeks - not nearly long enough, and I'll be back). The bus driver on my day trip to Milford Sound played this album on the return drive... exactly what a bus-load of tired tourists needed.I kept listening thinking "Some of these songs sound vaguely familiar... and these voices.... familiar."It wasn't until Weather With You that I clued in and thought "it's a Finn!"But which one - I had to ask the driver, and he told me the name of the album and I picked one up in Auckland just before I left.I'll listen to this one a lot, I think!

4-0 out of 5 stars Diamanda: a sparkling Diamond
I enjoy this cd very much. Diamanda is definitely on my top 10 of solo artists. However, I prefer the live version of INSANE ASYLUM featured on "MALEDICTION AND PRAYER" than this studio recording. It's less gothic soundingand on MAP it sounds bluesy and her vocals are spunky and just has that "OOMPH." It's clear that she's influenced by blues but also is well rounded and diverse as she tackles spirituals and classical as witnessed on MAP. The cover photo is attractive and I like the blue-gray tint the used. I seem to enjoy Diamanda when she's at the piano and singing-the shreiks and noises(and ya all know what I mean), doesn't bother me as much. But "PLAGUE MASS", "VENA CAVA" and "SHREI-X" are very disturbing and I can only handle sections of those cd's- no disrespect to Diamanda. I do, really admire her.

5-0 out of 5 stars A landmark recording
Galas' performance of these songs is simply awesome. Many have sung them before her, but who will dare to sing them after her? Her performance somehow transfigures these very familiar classic blues and spirituals, bringing out a depth of emotion, an awesome power and force, a wonderful subtlety of feeling that was hitherto unknown. Her voice blends perfectly with the piano, her vocals are perfectly balanced, each "scream" and intonation neither too much nor too little, but just perfect. I don't think I will ever again be able to listen to someone else's interpretation of "I put a spell on you" or "A balm in Gilead" without somehow finding it lacking in comparison with Diamanda Galas' performance. She simply outshines them all.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real performance...

Editorial Review

Dead Moon is an exception to the rule. For most bands, a live album is a toss-off, either a hastily assembled package released as a stopgap until the next studio project or something shoveled under management's door as a half-spirited contract fulfillment. For Dead Moon, a live album is like church on Christmas: an occasion for reverence and genuflection. Recorded somewhere in the Slovenia--in Europe Dead Moon are treated like living treasures--Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent live show on cd as well as in person
I just saw this band last night, and their energy on stage is amazing.Hard Wired is a great collection of their older songs, and definetely captures what makes them so good live.

2-0 out of 5 stars if you are buying cuz of Pearl Jam don't...
The Ramones meet AC/DC. A live record with the song covered by Pearl Jam. Not a great recording. The songs are good, would rather hear studio versions. If you are looking to buy cause of the Pearl Jam song.. don't waste your money. Otherwise they are a good band but the production is no good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Real Rock N Roll
Fred Cole has been around since he was the lead singer for the Lollipop Shoppe when he was 16 years old in 1966.Him and his wife Trudy formed the Rats in the mid 70's, some great well written punk music. I have a couple of the records. Then they did some country punk before it became popular. I have seen Fred and Trudy live a few times and they are great. Dead Moon has put out a bunch of stuff since the 70's, try to find the out of print stuff.have fun,EVL.. PS. The Rats and Dead Moon had a great impact in the NW with Punk and Country Punks. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Don't call it goth, it's more than that
Almost nobody ever finds Fields of the Nephilim. On some of this live album, one wonders whether the scene was a small club, not the arena these sounds deserved. The Neph were a staggeringly good band that hit their stride only briefly, and this was right in the middle of it.The music is loud, melodic, moody but usually brisk. The instrumentalists are crisp and tight, virtuoso within the bounds of what they're trying to do.My only complaint is with the overly democratic mix, which buries my favorite soaring guitar parts from "Moonchild" and "Love Under Will."But the inimitable vocals of Carl McCoy aren't mixed up too far either. It's a great live sound. This band deserved more than to be pigeonholed as goth and ignored by radio. The day I hear this disc on XM will be a milestone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Nephilim starter album
It's been said before but it cannot be repeated enough - this is simply an awesome live album. If you are new to Fields of The Nephilim then this is the perfect place to start as it combines tracks from their 3 prior studio albums, i.e. Dawnrazor, The Nephilim and the most excellent Elizium.I have owned Earth Inferno since it's original release and still find it fresh.Too bad they didn't include the extended version of Chord of Souls from the Visionary Heads video that complements this release.Overall, Sumerland and Last Exit for the Lost are standouts for me but there isn't really a bad track to be found.Do yourself a big favor and pick up a copy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ferocious Live Performance
Purely on its merit, this is an amazing live album. The output is far more loud and ferocious than their studio performances generally were. As a big FotN fan though, I'm not sure that's always a good thing. Rather the live album is a perfect compliment to the studio albums, it is not meant to be a replacement unless you are a metal fan in which case you may like this better. What is impossible to replicate live is the dreamy, ethereal nature of the studio recordings. The best moment is the perfect version of "Dawnrazor" - this is how this song was meant to sound and is far superior to the album version. In most other cases, I think the versions are merely different and I appreciate them for that.Read more

this album is mostly taken from live sets spanning from 1979 to 1983.it's a good repesentation of that period and the range of iggy music.he goes from a heavy metal version of the batman theme to a slow sinatra styleballad called "one for the road. it'sa good album in many ways theonly flaw it has is that there wasn't more released from this stage iniggy's career.i beleive this was later used as side two of the newerrelease "nuggets" but i couldn't be certain. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Scorching Guitar Playing
I've listened to pretty much all of the 2000 boots and this single concert contains the best renditions of 'red mosquito' and 'porch' from the 2000 concert run.Mike's guitar playing is absolutely insane, and the band is tight as ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!!
I bought this one because of the great reviews on amazon and allmusic. And I am glad I did. Pearl Jam at their best. Mike is on this night. And so is Eddy. Fantastic show. "Breath" taking!

5-0 out of 5 stars Why is This Out of Print???
All of the shows on the first leg of the 2000 American Tour, even the classic Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh shows, have their occasional flaws. This one from Philadelphia has none. The playing is vitually flawless, and the band's full power is roaring through the venue. The only thing that keeps it a notch below the other two previously mentioned shows is the excitement level, which is not quite as high. Other than that, a great live album, and a much better one than the "official" live release, "Live on Two Legs". ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile second disc makes this worth the investment.
Jeff Buckley's brief career consisted only of one studio album and a live EP of solo performances before his drowning death. In the years that follows, a proliferation of material has surfaced, authored by the executor of Buckley's estate-- his mother Mary Guibert. While one questions the integrity of releasing studio material Buckley deemed not good enough for public consumption (although one questions his choice in that regard), the release of archived live material seems to bother me less."Mystery White Boy", culled from the tour of the same name spanning 1995-1996, is one such example.
2-0 out of 5 stars The Great Lost Talent
Like many other people I was totally amazed by the passion, power and the incredible vocals of Jeff Buckley when I first heard the c.d. 'Grace'.It was and still is one of the best c.d.'s I've ever heard.I was totallydevestated when I heard what happened to him and one of my biggest regretswas not having availed of the opportunity to see him live in Dublin manyyears ago. When I heard a proper live c.d. was coming out I was reallyexcited at the prospect.I know these concerts were not recorded with anyspecific idea to make them into c.d.'s and I now think having heard them itwas a mistake to do so.You can get a vague idea of how good a singer andguitarist Buckley was but the quality is ridiculously poor. The great songslike 'Last Goodbye' and 'Grace' have been totally diminished by the awfulsound quality. The whole c.d. is redeemed slightly by the lasttrack-'Hallelujah/I Know It's Over'medley. The 3 songs on the bonus c.d. arebetter than nearly all the other songs on the main c.d.,especially 'SoReal' which sounds really powerful. If you are a real die hard Jeff Buckleyfan and really want to get this I would certainly reccommend buying theextra c.d.I like many other fans feel selfishly sad that I never got tohear Jeff Buckley write and record songs the way he himself wanted-now Ijust hope that they stop re-issuing reject material and leave us toremember him from that amazing album 'Grace'!

3-0 out of 5 stars Just not a great live album
Live from Toronto is the only live everclear album. But as live albums go, this one is just plain bad.5-0 out of 5 stars 8 LIVE TRACKS!YAY!
This CD is great!I simply cannot say how great of a bandEverclear is.Obviously, you are debating purchasing it.Well, Iwould highly recommend it.There are no other Everclear Live CD's on the market that you will find (except for auctions, and some live tracks on singles), so if you would like 8 live recorded songs, this is for you.CD is approximately 30 minutes long.

5-0 out of 5 stars This shows what Everclear should sound like.
This is an expensive album, no matter where you look, and you only get eight songs, but its well worth it.Everclear sounds better live than they do on any of their albums, with the possible exception of "World ofNoise".You don't get the total sence of energy they have at a liveshow, but you can see can hear it to a point. There is a great version of"Herion Girl" that sounds like the Eagles could have done.LocalGod also sounds great.Pick this album up if you want to know whatEverclear should really sound like. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My first Pigface album
I must admit, as an industrial music fan, I was certainly not prepared for this album. It was the first Pigface album I was able to find, and I was blown away. This was the first time I heard the song "Suck" and this is likely one of the best songs you have never heard.Martin Atkins is a good guy; he makes good rhythms, and when I wrote to him in high school when I wrote an Advanced English paper on them, he wrote me back, complete with a coffee cup stain on the letter."Blood and Sand" rules, and still speaks to us now, since we are killing off people in the Middle East again for no logical reason.I find that Pigface helps me to reach a place that no other group is capable of doing; a strange, rhythmic bliss.Crack open a Newcastle Brown Ale, and turn up the stereo.Pigface will take care of cracking open your head.

3-0 out of 5 stars An amazing collection of industrial talent.
This is old Pigface, when they recruited some of industrial music's heaviest hitters.Amongst those were Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy, Bill Rieflin and Chris Connelly of Ministry/Revolting Cocks, William Tucker of Thrill Kill Kult, Michael Balch (formerly of Front Line Assembly), En Esch of KMFDM, and Nine Inch Nails contributors Chris Vrenna and Jeff Ward, as well as Trent Reznor himself. They've even got Becky from Lunachicks and Black Francis (the guy from Pixies?).The songs range from decent to excellent, with one of Pigface's better-known songs, "Tapeworm", on it.Also of note are two songs that also appeared on albums by Pigface contributors:"Suck", which was one of the hidden tracks on Nine Inch Nails' "Broken" and "T.F.W.O.", which is on Skinny Puppy's "Too Dark Park".Although I'm not a big fan of live albums, this one has its shining moments. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of the European 2000 Tour
Out of 25 shows in the European Bootleg series, this one from Hamburg, Germany takes the prize (barely)from the Praha show. Everything is clicking, thundering, and even stumbling the way it's supposed to. The band and the crowd do not let technical difficulties (only a few) get in their way of having a rip-roaring good time.If you can only afford one or two of these Official Bootlegs, this is Pearl Jam at it's best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Darren Nelson's debut review of Pearl Jam live
Arguably the greatest rock band of the 90's, Pearl Jam still has it nine years after the release of their breakthrough album "Ten." They rock the house in Hamburg, Germany. After all the disputes that have plauged the history of America's relationship with Germany, the German fans were astonished enough to rave "U.S.A.,U.S.A.,U.S.A.,U.S.A." This goes to show the effect that Pearl Jam has had, not only on the U.S., but internationally as well. The powerfull voice of Eddie Vedder brings the crowd to their feet from "Evenflow" all the way to their cherished "Who" cover, "Baba O' Riley." Pearl Jam sounds better than ever in this CD. The only way I could enjoy Pearl Jam more than listening to this album is to see them live first hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Rockinest City in Europe?
Disclaimer: Owner of all 72 official PJ bootlegs. The city of Hamburg, where the Beatles were allowed to hone their chops before conquering the Earth, is still rockin' after all these years. They've got one of the most enthusiastic and energetic crowds of any of Pearl Jam's European shows, and the band returns the favor by delivering a performance of non-stop intensity. This is surely one of the highlights of the European section of the bootleg series, and is a good sampler if you're looking for an example of a heavy, no-nonsense show. Instead of starting off with a ballad as usual (to build the tension), here the band plows straight into some of their heaviest rave-ups - "Breakerfall," "Corduroy," "MFC," and "Go" - and go straight for the throat. The intensity of this performance barely lets up, even on some of the ballads. The performances on the quieter "Faithful," "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter..." and "Present Tense" are sharp and transcendent. Meanwhile, Matt Cameron delivers a muscular groove to propel an extra strong jam session in "Daughter." Even the problems are pretty good in this show. During the rare "Rival," Stone Gossard's amp dies during the second verse. This actually sounds pretty interesting, as the song accidentally takes on a sparse and dark feel. Everything was working tonight, even the technical glitches. There's an interesting moment in the encore when Eddie Vedder leads the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" for Jeff Ament, and it wasn't even his birthday. Apparently the last time they were in town, it was his birthday. Other surprises include the tour's first appearance of "Crazy Mary," which sends the surprised crowd into an emotional frenzy. This song would then appear often in America. Also, the Who's "Baba O'Riley" makes its first appearance, and Pearl Jam's rendition of this classic is flawless, right down to Mike McCready's transformation of the fidgety synthesizer lines into screaming guitar solos. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Adequate material, tight band
For a Lou Reed live album, this works only part of the time.
3-0 out of 5 stars An okay live album from Lou Reed,.
Perfect Nigh: Live in London was a live album that Lou Reed made during some down time he had before his next disc.
4-0 out of 5 stars It Almost Was a Perfect Night
It almost was a perfect night. Just before this show Lou Reed had found an acoustic guitar that he described as "having the sound of diamonds" and a way of amplifying it so the instrument's real sound would reach the audience. Like any good artist would he wanted to share the find. He put a four piece ensemble together with guitarist Mike Rathke, bass player Fernando Saunders and drummer Tony Smith. They went on stage and played a tight set that pumped up both the audience and the band.

2-0 out of 5 stars Live Iggy Is Always Great....But....
This release is for diehard fans only. Please trust me, or just play the sound samples and hear for yourself. This is bootleg quality.Hot Wacks would rate this good to very good soundboard at best. A great tracklist & decent performance from Iggy are not enough to recommend this.New Iggy fans would be best served by purchasing the "Live At The Avenue B" dvd for arguably one of the best live Iggy documents available.Long time fans may want this to complete their collection; even though you might only play it once or twice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Live Material
Sister Midnight is one of the best live albums I've ever heard. I'm suprised it isnt more popular in the Iggy Pop catalogue. Iggy's voice is in great form, raw and raspy yet also soothing and seductive and the guitars are fuzzed out and reverberating all throughout. This performance of "Gimme Danger" I consider to be far superior to the Raw Power version, it just is bursting with a fierce energy and exhuberance that makes the original seem tame by comparison. Iggy's reputation has frequently been battered with drug and sex accusations but this live recording seems plagued by neither, the sound is great and his performance is simply raw and powerful. A must have if your an Iggy fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Iggy In Cleveland 77
I am a huge collector of iggy's music having this under a different title I took my chances and bought it again and was amazed at the sound quality. As far as live I would recommend this along with Hippodrome (Paris 77). ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars As an AOL fan, I was disappointed
I love AOL more than any other band (I gave all their studio albums 5 stars), but I was highly disappointed by this live release. However, it is very indicative of their final tour. They seemed to be losing all their passion for the music, and on most songs sound very dull.I went to their show in Philadelphia during this tour and loved the live version of "Fashion Bleeds", but on this album (with Eric Johnson replaced by the guy from Man or Astroman) it just sounded really bad.The same goes for nearly every song on this disc. They are still great songs, but it seems like they just didn't care any more.

4-0 out of 5 stars archers kings of indie rock
this brilliant peice is the first archers CD I bought and I love it,the inteligent lyrics and tunes continue to thrill me.from the groovy opening dead red eyes to gorgeous chumming the oceans this excellent live album never dissapionts.i noticed that some reviewers seemed dissapionted which is why i felt i needed to write this review because this is the best live album you'll hear from the chapel hill rockers so buy this,BUY THIS!a great introduction to one of my favourite bands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Super chunky slanted dienchantment
