4-0 out of 5 stars Everything old is new again
A friend introduced me to two songs from this group and I got hooked and ordered a few CDs.I've listened to this one over and over again and while I like some songs more than others it was definitely money well spent.
4-0 out of 5 stars Oldtimer likes it too
I've been a fan of Pink Floyd since the 70's.I never much cared for the whole disco movement in the 80's, so why do I like this album so much?Maybe it's just that good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good stuff.
Don't pay attention to people leaving one star reviews, all they have to say about the album is that they can't believe that anyone has the nerve to cover Comfortably Numb this way.

4-0 out of 5 stars One ingredient missing in an otherwise perfect stew
Where do you go after Aquemini, an album that had it all. Witty Lyricism, Social commentary, rich music and an undeniable chemistry between two clearly different personalities. For most artist, nowhere, but these cats were able to take it one step further with Stankonia which added pop appeal to the mix while continuing to push further musically (B.O.B). Surely they couldn't take it further than Stankonia but with Speakerboxx/Love Below they did just that. This time they highlighting the multiple personalities that the group has. Allowing Andre 3000 to really do his thing.
4-0 out of 5 stars [3.5]--Nope I'm not bored Big Boi...............I'm not Bored.
I've been listening to this album on and off for the past week and a half and in my opinion, this album is really good. I've always admired Outkast's originality: their music never sounds like anything anyone else has made or is making. "Idlewild", the musical companion to their movie of the same name, is no different but not as good as Speakerboxx/The Love Below. But it is still a very good album due to its style and funk. Dre and Big Boi only share about 3 songs in the whole album, and those 3 songs are amazing.
5-0 out of 5 stars Innovative
Outkast is the best. This is what rap needs more of. They don't talk about what they got and brag about their struggles feeling sorry for themselves, they just rap, and rap good. I like how they modernize the old blues style beats and make them good... it's like a new style of music kinda and it's tight. Outkast better win some awards for this. I definately recomend this to anyone who appriciates real rappers and rap as a form of art. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars His best record
One song in particular, JOHN WAYNE GACY JR, is startling. The first few times I played the CD, without really listening to the lyrics, I heard it as a love song, due to the gorgeous minor-key melody, then only realized later what it was about. The song is eerily beautiful, and at the same time, stunningly creepy, about the love a serial killer feels for his victims."He dressed up like a clown for them."I wasn't aware that pop music could do something as complex as this, until Stevens did so.

1-0 out of 5 stars Recycled goods
Having listened to Steven's previous albums, Greetings from Michigan and Seven Swans countless times, I cannot help but to notice the amount of regurgitation on this album.Stevens blatantly rips off his own music.I consider Michigan to be Sufjan's masterpiece.Do yourself a favor and start there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rewards with time and patience.
Ok where to begin. I am some what astonished by the few reviews I have read for this album that have been negative (i.e. 2 stars or lower). Not because "oh these people are idiots, or this music is just to much for them" but precisely the opposite reason. There were a few reviews that were 2 stars or lower from people who wrote somewhat intelligent and thoughtful comments. My advice to these people is to just give this some time to sink in. I know that it is not above these people, and If they give it a few extra listens it will eventually catch them.

I've had the new album "Hello Love" on repeat since I got it in the mail a few days ago. 5-0 out of 5 stars Phobia
One of the best rock albums that I own. Just as good as We Are Not Alone and Saturate... probably even better.
3-0 out of 5 stars Fear Phobia...
As a big fan of BB's first two albums, I found this one to be a little dissapointing. All of the songs sort of blend together in an un-exciting way. There are about 3 songs that I really enjoy on the album, and that is only because they had to grow on me after repetitive play.I think perhaps they have matured in the wrong direction, or not at all.

3-0 out of 5 stars BB's PHOBIA : Should You Buy?
Breaking Benjamin in definately one of my top 10 bands of all times but I will never give a band bias for any reason .... With that being said.... Phobia to me seems like Breaking Benjamin tried too hard to compete with themselves.Songs like "So Cold", "Follow Me", "Break My Fall", and "Polyamorous" (from a different CD) gave Breaking Benjamin the flare that is oh so good. Little can be done to match their past music ... and yet they tried. They tried to completely change the guitar solos, vocals, beats, harmonics, and feel of each song so that their music would be as new and original as ever. I personally think they tried to hard but some people enjoy it. "Evil Angel"? nothing special...thats all I can say. "Had Enough"? Edgy and Upbeat, uses Ben's vocals at their best. In all its a descent song, I like it. "You Fight Me"? That exact point I was talking about earlier ... Tried desperately to be original and its just not Breaking Benjamin ...Also has some girly sounding vocals ... DOnt like it. Now, best for last."Diary of Jane"? Excellent song .. In my honest opinion, this is the only song on the entire CD that can compete with their old music. Different beat that works, edgy music and vocals that arent over the edge. Lyrics really dont do anything for me but I adore this song's feel and Diary of Jane is in my top 4 BB songs.

Look, I loved Fallen. If I want to hear these songs then I'll listen to that.Frankly they are not the greatest band when playing live.I love the band, but I say stick to the studio albums.I only bought this to have the videos from fallen.I'd suggest you do the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have For Those of you That Love Evanescence
There is no question when I tell you that Amy rocks out loud live! She definately knows how to work the crowd. During her performance, she and the rest of the band do a KoRn cover of "Thoughtless" (which I LOVE) and also perform two other songs not found on the U.S. version of 'Fallen' including Breathe No More (from Elektra soundtrack) and Farther Away (from the Bring Me to Life Single and/or Jap. version of Fallen) Of course, any true Ev fan would already know all of that info. The dvd includes the entire live performance, all the music vids from Fallen, and some behind the scenes footage of the whole band. (Some of it is really funny) A great buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An impressive cohesive whole
With her flaming red hair and imposing good looks, Neko Case strikes an impressive pose, but that's nothing compared to the development of her singing and songwriting over the past few years. This album bathes her strong voice with echoing reverb, making her tales of love and loss seem even more apocalyptic. Case mixes country, folk and pop with an unusual deftness that sets her apart from the veritable army of female singer songwriters on todays music scene, and with backup from the likes of Calexico, one of the finest roots rock groups around, the music meshes very well with the lyrics.
5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful stuff..
"Alt-country" would indeed be a limiting description,none-the-less an accurate point of reference,as this artist is obviously drawing from past Country musicians. But make no mistake, this is not a tired retread thru the same-old same-old but rather an exceptional modern piece of music.I'm usually more inclined towards the Heavy than the twangy, but this is just so well written and catchy with a distinct melancholic cloud hanging over the proceedings, and this woman can SING.One of the few recent musicians that deserve that designation!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Country Noir" indeed - excellent purchase
After having this recommended to me as a hard-to-categorize album, I was lucky enough to stumble into a copy the next day.The beautifully produced, played, sung, and especially well written songs on this album are haunting and catchy at the same time. The album comes in at just about 35 mintues, which is perfect for a quiet listen while reading or driving around.

Immaculately prolific and blatantly ambitious, My Morning Jacket celebrate eight years as a recording band with what many refer to as a death knell: the double live album. Yet it takes but a single listen to declare that the brass neck and bravado pays off for this Kentucky band of longhairs, which released the 21-song epic as a companion piece to their concert DVD. Songwriter and singer Jim James's howling falsetto ricochets through MMJ's backlog of songs, which have been reenergized for the stage by the band's airtight live-show mettle. Dusting off remnants of the first two records like "I Think I'm Going to Hell" and the stunning "The Way That He Sings," then lining them up with the more contemporary "Gideon" and "What a Wonderful Man," MMJ never take their foot off the gas. In fact, rather than getting bogged down in concert-album fashion, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest live albums of all-time ****1/2
My Morning Jacket is an incredible band.I knew I could always count on them to release a solid psychedelic, southern rock record. But when "Z" came out in 2005, I was absolutely speechless; there was finally a band in the United States to compete with Radiohead, and incidentally, "Z" is probably the best album released since "Ok Computer."It took the band to a whole new level. They went from being solid to superstars; from doing obscure music magazine interviews to releasing a concert in indie theaters across the country.
5-0 out of 5 stars The ultimate live album from the best live act these days
My Morning Jacket has steadily been climbing the commercial and critical recongition in the last 6 years, with 2005's "Z" album ranking easily as one of the best albums of last year. MMJ has built its reputation as a tireless live act, and finally MMJ releases a live album, and what a joy it is.
5-0 out of 5 stars JamBase CD Review
The whole idea of a live album can be a bit tricky for all bands, especially for a great band like the Kentucky boys of My Morning Jacket. Let's face it - out of all the groundbreaking artists of the past 40 years who've cut a live one, about 90 percent of them seem to be sub-par. And no, the live downloaded Phish and .moe bootlegs that you listened to in your college dorm while sucking on a glass Jerome Baker piece don't count. Sure, the concerts at which they were recorded must've been enjoyable for the fans, but it can be very taxing when attempting to capture the essence of what it's like being there as a concertgoer in that exact moment. A double-disc album, Okonokos was recorded last November during a two-night stint at The Fillmore in San Francisco, while touring in support of their latest release Z, which was on many critics' year-end top ten lists. Okonokos exhibits the majestic semblance of MMJ's live shows and proves that they are not a jam band but instead a band that just knows how to jam.

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Greatest Cd's Of Our Time
Epic and anthemic, and yet every track can be listened to without the others. It tells a great story and has a great set of characters.Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming particularly stick out in my mind.If you don't have it already, get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars You tell 'em
OK, fair enough, Green Day were the first band with the guts to actually call the Bush administration out for what it is (or what they think it is, anyways).I'm puzzled how people can say the lyrics don't even make sense - I have no problem figuring out what the songs are about! That's the lyrical review - 5 stars.I'm not a fan of punk rock so I can't fairly review this CD in musical terms, so I gave it the 3 stars of middle ground. The average # stars is therefore 4 stars.(I wonder if the people who can't figure out the meaning of the lyrics, will be able to follow that.)
1-0 out of 5 stars Brainless, mindless trash...if you like Greenday...you must be a retard.
Green Day is a completely talentless pop rock band.Ths type of music takes no talent what so ever. Its three chords played on a guitar...and nothing more. Then they put those three chords through a bunch of distortion and fuzz boxes to mask the lack of talent.Well Greenday, you little bas.ards didn't fool me with your noisy guitar pop.I know a lack of talent when I hear it, and Green Day are absolutely talentless at playing their instruments. And what are these lyrics anyway?Half the time you can't even understand what these punks are saying because the music is such a noisy guitar pop racket. And whenever the lyrics are audible, they sound stu.pid and don't make any sense."The New Media"?"The Redneck Agenda"?Lyrics like that are such a bunch of pseudo intellectual nonsense that its almost laughable.Green Day are a bunch of juvenile delinquents who probably aren't even old enough to vote, let alone know anything about politics. And the harder they try to be intelligent, the more idiotic they sound.SO Green Day, please stop writing those pseudo intellectual "social commentary" tunes that take no talent. You don't sound smart. You don't sound intelligent.Every word you sing on your pseudo intellectual "rock operas" just shows your ignorance abou t the topic you're writing about.ANd Green Day fans...how can you actually enjoy this noisy, three chord, guitar pop racket? How can you like listening to a bunch of bratty juveniledelinquents from the suburbs shooting their mouths off about politics when their knowledge is limited to riding skateboards, smoking joints, and playing 3 chords on a guitar?I'm begining to think that in order to be a Greenday fan, one must not have a brain cell. After all, that's the only way one could listen to this brainless, mindless cr.ap.Come on Green Day fans, this CD isn't a five star unless you're reta.rded. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A return to form while still progressing.
I find this album to be my favorite since Semantic Spaces, but in its own way. They definitely started down a particular path with Karma onward, but Chimera and Poem just didn't grab me.This one does, and shakes hard.I found myself moved to tears in some spots, much like the first time I heard "Silence" or "Flowers Become Screens" - it's somewhat less sensual, unfortunately, but still evocative, touching, moving.I'd been worried that things would turn too "pop" ever since Poem, but this represents a return to complexity I just didn't feel in those last two albums.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enchanting
Delerium is one of my all time favorite bands. I have been a fan for several years now. I must admit their last studio album "Chimera" was far from perfect. There were some good songs but the album wasn't as good as "Karma" and "Poem" were to me. I was a bit nervous about the new album "Nuages du Monde" after my mild disappointment with "Chimera". Thankfully worries were put to rest. I found "Nuages du Monde" to be a real gem. I love the operatic sounds of "Angelicus". Isabel Bayrakdarian has a lovely voice and it matches well with the music. Gotta love Katherine Blake and the gals in Mediaevael Baebes. Their contributions to Delerium's music, past and present, is always a delight to hear. And it is always good to hear the enchanting vocals by Kristy Thirsk and Kirsty Hawkshaw. What would a Delerium cd be without their lovely ethereal voices? I just bought "Nuages du Monde" today and I am already listening to it for the second time which says a lot about what I think of the cd.

2-0 out of 5 stars pretty sounding but lacks memorable songs
I'm a huge Delerium fan and own all their albums.I have sung their praises and turned friends onto their music.Their fifth album for Nettwerk Records, Nuages Du Monde (Clouds of the World) is lush, exotic, cinematic, and features a fine assortment of breathy female vocalists, however, the experience is like listening to sonic wallpaper.Songs meander aimlessly. The compositions are not all that memorable. The whole is not greater than the sum of the parts, unfortunately.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great driving music
Ok, i bought this album because i liked the first one's sound. In that respect, one x did not disappoint in the least. They have creative, catchy riffs. The drums are simple but they work. The lead singer's voice does sound better in this effort than the first cd.I am pleased overall by the sound.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great CD
This CD seems to have a lot of positive reviews, so I'll keep mine short.I saw Three Days Grace in concert as an opening band a few years ago, and I liked them so much I went out and bought their first CD.I really liked it, although there were a few songs on there I don't play that much. But, the other songs made the CD a major favorite of mine.
5-0 out of 5 stars Well Rounded and Full of Power Musically and Emotionally
This is the first album in years that I have bought and enjoyed almost every song.Usually I buy two or three of the songs I like off of an album to save myself some money, but this was a great album. It's powerful lyrics, heavy riffs and overall full sound just blew me away at first listen.I have it in my car, and I haven't taken it out in over a week even when my total drive time is two hours a day.I am so impressed with the way they've matured and haven't sold out at all. A great rock album, one that I keep suggesting to all my friends. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A review of reviews.
This review will begin by quoting from what I found to be the most helpful and entertaining reviews written up until this point.I will then offer a few thoughts of mine on the album. The quotes:
3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best.
You know why Trivium are the NEW Metallica??? BECAUSE THEY RIP THEM OFF IN EVERY ASPECT THEY CAN...
3-0 out of 5 stars I like it, but not as much as Ascendancy
I'd give The Crusade a 3.5 star rating (I'd give Ascendancy 4.5...I love that record).I like The Crusade a lot, but it took a few listens to grow on me.It's an entertaining listen with solid riffs and nice leads and solos. Some of the lyrics are good, some not so...I do appreciate the obvious political/spcial themes of some of the tracks.I do like the singing, as I'm an old school metal fan, and I don't consider it a sell-out as many have called it.However, I got to know Trivium through Ascendancy, and later Ember to Inferno, and the change on The Crusade kind of threw me for a loop even though I knew before hearing the album this was the direction they were taking.I used to hate the screaming and Ascendancy was one of the records that finally got me to "get over it."lolAnyway, this is a good record with obvious Metallica, Megadeth and Iron Maiden influence on it.If you like metal without the screaming, this is definitely worth picking up. ... Editorial Review

The notion that rock must perpetually break new ground and reinvent itself is the odious legacy of 10 too many years of rock-crit navel gazing, and one that young Australian power trio Wolfmother stands gleefully on its head with their effusive debut. Hardly surprising to find a new generation's reaction to a decade of shoe-gazing alternative rock angst to be a return to the guilty pleasures of unabashed, blues-based stadium rock--even if they seem unsure whether they're channeling the early Zep scream 'n' sludge frenzy of the single "Woman" or adopting The White Stripes' stripped-down ethos on "Apple Tree" and elsewhere. They bravely mix suspect '70s lyrical thematics ("White Unicorn," "Where Eagles Have Been," "Tales") with usual suspects like Sabbath ("Dimension"), stir in the neo-prog of "Colossal," "Witchcraft," and "Tales," (the latter complete with Tull-savvy flute break), then toast Soundgarden and Queens of the Stone Age on "Mind's Eye" and elsewhere. Their frightfully funk-challenged "Love Train" gets promptly derailed, making one yearn for a hit of Eagles of Death Metal for relief, but its wreckage only proves how far Wolfmother is willing to push the envelope in forging their often intoxicating evocation of the past as future. 4-0 out of 5 stars Solid but not Unified
Wolfmother creates genuinely good music on their self-titled debut. Many of the songs are catchy and throwbacks to the great classic rock artists of the 70's and 80's. Therein lies the only problem with this album. All the songs may have well been recorded by different artists. The band, instead of using their own style, seems to have paid homage to a different band in each of their songs. I am, however, optimistic that with future releases the band will find their own style. The instrumentation is great, and the vocals are excellent. Buy it for it's odd neo-nostalgia to the great artists of the 70's, and buy it to discover an emerging new band.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre garage band tries to cash out from '70s hard rock
This is simply bogawful. Annoying vocals (another Robert Plant wannabe --- I've lost count already!) coupled with substandard, boring and repetitive riffs played by a garage band who struck a record label deal.Sorry, but these rookies are just too lame and pretentious to compare them to any hard rock band who played in the '70s.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sabbath returns!!
This is like early Black Sabbath for the 21st Century, only lacks Tony Iomis soaring guitar solos. If you loved Iron Man, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, this is the album for you.Check out the website too, very cool. The tracks will grow on you, but Witchcraft and Joker and the Thief really stand out. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Nothing like before
If you're anything like me, then you probably plugged this disc in expecting to hear driving rhythms accompanied by mindless vocals: testosterone fueled screeming, snarling, growling, and incomprehensible lyrics that wouldn't hold much value even if you could understand them.Basically then, all the same components that permeate most modern metal/heavy metal acts such as Slipknot-from which Stone Sour was born- and the like.It seems to be a fair assumption because that's the direction that their debut album took. That's what Slipknot, Corey Taylor's other band, have been doing for years now.Start to listen and you will still find some of that in Stone Sour's music, but it's held to a minimum, and they also have something more to offer. There's a softer and more melodic side to their music than there has been in the past.A number of songs are steered in the direction of alternative rock and alternative metal. This is evidenced mainly by such songs as "sillyworld", "Through Glass", "Socio", and "Zzyzx Rd."They do start to regress into their old style in the middle of the CD with tracks 5-7: "Made of Scars", "Reborn", and "Your God", but they rebound in a big way toward the end of the disc.Another positive is that some of their harder edged songs are more listenable.Take for example "30/30-150" and "Come What(ever) May", two of the highlights.
