    Editorial Review

Despite her conspicuous absence from most media (save the tabloids) inthe year 2000, the Celine Dion industry rolls on with her second repackaging job in two years. The Collector's Series Volume One culls a dozen cuts from previous U.S. releases, including "That's the Way It Is" from Dion's 1999 greatest hits CD. TwoSpanish-language numbers, a previously Japan-only multilingual version of David Foster's "Be the Man(on This Night)," and a song from the 1996 Olympics opening ceremony fill outthe disc. Guest appearances by Streisand ("Tell Him") and Bocelli ("The Prayer") remind us and her that, time off or no, she's still a star. Bingo--the perfect holiday gift for the Celine fan on your list. --Park Slope ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not half bad
I like about half of the songs on this album. Por Que tu maimes Encore is an incredible performance, both in English and in French. The Power of the Dream is both beautiful and inspirational. I can't say Where Does my Heart beat now is a favorite of mine. Tell Him is a nice, slow duet with Celine and Barbra. I really like "Us" and That's the way it is, another upbeat inspirational song.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" - So That You'll Love Me Again
Wow!I fell in love with this song even though I didn't know the meaning until I read the translated version online from a guy and I was shocked because it's kind of what I'm going through...what a coincidence! And as for me, words can have a thousand meanings but melody is what touches someone's heart so translation is not important...but if you insist on reading the translated version, please visit this very cool website:www.bluesdubuisnessman.de/celnews/dw/int_pqtme.htm

    Enjoy! Bon appetit!

    5-0 out of 5 stars The Collector's Series Volume 1 (2000)
In 2000, Celine had already started her first of the two-year hiatus she decided to go on, so she and Renee could start a family of their own, so she could spend more time with Renee after learning of his illness, so she could see her own family more often. On October 24, 2000, Celine Dion's album, The Collector's Series Volume 1 was released, containing the hits that didn't make it onto her '99 album All The Way... A Decade Of Song. This is yet another amazing album and it's an album only Celine could put together.

    THE POWER OF THE DREAM
Performed at the opening ceremony of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Nothing less than beautiful.

WHERE DOES MY HEART BEAT NOW
From the album Unison (1990). Where Does My Heart Beat Now was Celine's first single ever and it is one of her absolute best.

    US
From the album Let's Talk About Love (1997). Not bad.

    THE REASON
From the album Let's Talk About Love (1997). Not bad.

    SEDUCES ME
From the album Falling Into You (1996). Okay.

    WITH THIS TEAR
From the album Celine Dion (1992). Even though this was written by Prince, who I loathe with a passion, this is a beautiful song. I only credit Prince for his exellent ability to write. He is only a great lyricist.

    FALLING INTO YOU
From the album Falling Into You (1996). Not bad.

    POUR QUE TU M'AIMES ENCORE
From the album The French Album (1995). This is the French version of the song If That's What It Takes. The English version of If That's What It Takes can be found on the album Falling Into You (1996).

UN GARCON PAS COMME LES AUTRES (ZIGGY)
From the album Dion Chante Plamondon (1994). Okay.

BE THE MAN (ON THIS NIGHT)
    Previously unreleased. Not bad.

    TELL HIM (with Barbra Streisand)
From the album Let's Talk About Love (1997). From Barbra Streisand's album Higher Ground (1997). Both Celine and Barbra have beautiful voices, but when you put them together, you are guaranteed to cringe with chills. Their voices together on one song are nothing less than beautiful.

    THE PRAYER (with Andrea Bocelli)
From the album These Are Special Times (1998). Beautiful song. Andrea Bocelli has an amazing voice. This is added to the "dedications" list of mine.

    ALL BY MYSELF (Spanish Version)
Previously unreleased. The English version is better.

    AMAR HACIENDO EL AMOR
    Previously unreleased. Okay.

    ONLY ONE ROAD
From the album The Colour Of My Love (1993). Not bad.

    THAT'S THE WAY IT IS
From the album All The Way... A Decade Of Song (1999). Great song.

This is an album that everyone should own. Buy it and you'll see that you'll enjoy it. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Canadian thrush Celine Dion is primarily a singles artist, which is a good thing, because the soaring, epic style she brings to nearly all of her material is thrilling in four-minute bursts, but nearly overwhelming at album length. Falling into You is Dion's finest attempt to temper that approach--mixing low-key love songs and dance pop between showstoppers such as "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and the Up Close and Personal movie theme, "Because You Loved Me." Dion's take on Tina Turner's Phil Spector experiment "River Deep, Mountain High" is game, but there's little doubt which singer hails from the Great White North and which one is from Nutbush, Tennessee.--Daniel Durchholz ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My first Celine album
..and it got me hooked. No stopping me from there. The song I loved the most was It's all coming back to me now. I had never heard such a beautiful song in my life. It is her longest song, but well worth the 7 minutes to hear. I had decided if that sounded great, I should check out other songs on here. I was not disappointed. Because you loved me is a great song that can apply to at least one person in your life. All by Myself is a bit sad, but it's a great song to hear Celine's vocal abilities. Following All by Myself, is the much more upbeat song, Declaration of Love. One of my other favorites on this album is If that's what it takes (Por que tu maimes encore). It sounds better in French but I still have an appreciation for the English version. I'd recommend this album for Celine's vocal abilities, and some really great songs.

5-0 out of 5 stars An almost perfect album.
2 B frank, this is the 1st time 4 me 2 write a review, 'cause in my mind, doing reviews equals wasting time. But I have 2 rate 4 this album. Knowing nothing is perfect, I would give, 2 B exact,a 4.5 to this album(acutally this is the highest rank that I could possibly give). This is, in my opinion, the BEST album of Celine.Trust me, this comment is pretty objective,'cause it comes after my purchasing and listening all of her albums(French&English).
When Celine sings, she pours all of her emotions and sentiments in2 songs, and that's the reason Y her works always possess the power 2 touch our hearts, and this album is a good reflection. Her voice is like an angel's, so pure and so touching, sometimes like whiper of a brook, sometimes like eruption of a volcano. Thanks 2 her passion which controls the change and the transition so wonderfully.
Several No. 1s and some classic songs in this album, which make the album better.
OK,in brief, try this 1!Even if U like other genres of music, this disc is worth a try.

5-0 out of 5 stars Celine Sings to Your Heart
Celine is the finest singer of popular music in the world now.If that's not good enough, then what is?Her singing is flawless not because she hits the right notes everytime like an oepra singer (which she usually does), but because she sings from her heart - and that touches your heart. She brings each song to a higher level.Try singing the song yourself.Hear the difference. For those who can't appreciate her singing, I would suggest going for a formal hearing test (audiometry)by a doctor or audiologist before putting your comments down in print. This is her first big English album - which focussed attention on her 2 prior English albums - and its success in commercial sales just speaks for itself.150 million sales later, this is truly one lady whose songs are truly well worth spending your hard-earned money on. ... Editorial Review

Dion has released a lot of music in the last four years, which in lesser talents could generate a "got the last one, don't need this" yawn from the public. Every conceivable base is covered here--"Tell Me" is the iconic pop adult smash, "Treat Her Like a Lady" has sewn up Contemporary Hits Radio, and there are a half-dozen others to keep the party going till 1999. The inclusion of the theme song to Titanic ("My Heart Will Go On") proves that nothing is likely to scuttle the unsinkable Ms. Dion.--Jeff Bateman ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Let's Talk About...
Hmmm. Celine Dion and lengthy list of collaborators from different genres of the music spectrum is what this album promises to listeners. What we get is something that has diverse and creative stamped across it and we get the bonus perc of hearing Mrs Dion tear it up and be the power diva she is.

"Reason" is great. carole King provides back up vocals for this song and her smokey vocals accent Dions nicely. (note: Dion sings backup on this song for Kings album, which came out shortly after this one)

"Immortality" The Bee Gee's offer their vocals, yet they do not stand so tall beside the power horse of singing loud. Still, when they sing together, it produces a nice, overall effect.

"Treat Her Like A Lady" features not only Diana King, the phenominal artist who sang "Shy Guy" for Bad Boys, but also Brownstone offering their rousing gospel tinged vocals to make this one of the meatier dance songs to hit the pop scene. Celine does great getting down...

"Why Oh Why" has Toni Brazton all over it and she does a wonderful job singing it in such a sultry mode.

"Tell Him" is a lovely duet with Striesand, but the song is a bit over rated. Pretty, but over rated.

"Where Is The Love" is my favorite song on this album. Cory Hart wrote it for her and it is the most poetic song on this disc. Also, Cory Hart opened her concert for her and he is alos a good singe. These two need to do a duet.

"Us" well, if anyone wondered how Celine Dion would sound doing country, this song offers a close indication. She sings this song so beautifully... and it has such a powerful message.

The rest of the songs on this album are great as well, just not as mentionable as these. She does a duet with Pavorotti and while their voices are great together, the song does them an injustice. The use of the childrens chorus on the title track adds a nice touch to an album that could very well be played with the children at home without worry of obcenity.

Overall, this is her best album to date. I love her newer albums, but not even "One Heart" can measure up to the callibre of this CD. This is the one that should have won the Grammy!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Her most artistic to date of her albums
I still this that Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love was her most artistic and stylistic album to date. She took more chances with stretching her voice on different songs.I still like the funky Treat Her Like a Lady, where Celine really tears it up on a faster song!It just got her off the ballad overkill a bit, the way Misled did on her '93 album. But I love songs like the P Diddy-beats-sounding Why oh Why, Immortality, the darker songs Miles To Go and Us, and To Love You More.Tell Him with Barbara Streisand--true diva event as if there was one! Both singers sound beautiful on here. I like her I Hate You then I Love You with Pavarotti. Her songs that Corey Hart produced are very good.So I'll save this part for last--her "My Heart Will Go On" is easily her best sung song of her career--the drama, emotion and range that she brings to it makes it one of the best '90s pop records. While some people don't like it, you have to admit that it is a beautiful power ballad in the greatest sense. In conclusion, a very artistic and well done pop album from Celine with all that incredible talent involved on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warning, do not use in your PC!
If you love Celine Dion, fine, by all means, this is an album you're going to want, but if you don't want adware and spyware installed on your PC, ONLY use this in your stereo. This CD will install AOL adware on your PC, and you may not be able to enjoy Celine's music unless you follow a series of clicks.Failing that, before you stick it into your computer, turn off the autorun function, holding down the shift key may not help you.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have French album
Out of my three Celine French albums, this is the best one I own. It's hard to pick a favorite song here, but ones that stand out for me are: On nes changes pas, L'abandon, Papillon, and the title track itself. Celine gives a range of her abilities on this album, from slow songs such as Papillon, to more upbeat songs like Dans un autre monde. The only song I really don't listen to on this album is number 11, where Celine sings blues. It doesn't matter though because 11 out of the 12 songs are absolutely wonderful. You do not have to know a word of French to appreciate this album.

5-0 out of 5 stars moonlit melodies
Those who think of Las Vegas neon when Celine Dion is mentioned, would be surprised to find that her work in French is more like candlelight...and a moonlit serenity in songs like the brilliant "Je crois toi" and the final exquisite "S'il suffisait d'aimer".This album is a terrific collaboration with Jean-Jacques Goldman, who wrote 10 of the 12 tracks, and the other two, "Terre" and "Papillon" (one of my favorites) were composed by arranger Erick Benzi, whose orchestrations are also lovely and complimentary to Celine's voice.

The power and range of Celine's voice is extraordinary, but it is not used in a flashy way here, only to enhance and accentuate the music; the musicianship from everyone involved in this recording is exceptional, giving us a thoroughly satisfying CD for all Celine fans, those of us who mostly prefer her in French, and those who might be converted upon listening to this wonderful CD.
There are some big, lavish songs like the fabulous, "Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi", but most have a delicacy to them, with Celine singing in a pure style with few flourishes.

Jean-Jacques Goldman, who has attained much popularity in France since the mid-'80s as a solo artist has a large body of work to his credit, alone and with other artists, and his work with Celine is stellar. The booklet insert has all the lyrics (only in French), the sound sparkles with clarity, and total playing time is 51'46.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cet musique et le mieux de Celine
Celine Dion has reached new heights with her voice, with her passion in the recordings of this CD.Her intonation is so dolce, yet so powerful, so believable, so true.I speak french as a second language, et listening to her lyrics brings the wonderful language to life. Each song is a unique journey through life, through love. ... Editorial Review

Celine Dion's second English-language album made her a star all over the world, not just in France and her native Quebec. The tag-team production work is sometimes heavy-handed, swathing Dion in background choruses and gauzy keyboard washes, but her voice soars above it all, showing off her incomparable range and power. The public certainly responded to Dion's talent, landing her four singles from the album--"If You Asked Me To," "Nothing Broken But My Heart," "Love Can Move Mountains," and "Beauty and the Beast" (a duet with Peabo Bryson and the theme to the hit animated movie)--in the Top 40. --Daniel Durchholz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars VERY ROMANTIC.
In my opinion this is her best album ever.I get chills everytime I listen to it.Several songs are written by DIANNE WARREN and one written by WALTER ALANASIEFF.If you are not aware of these two writers, they write great love songs.WALTER ALANASIEFF has co-written with MARIAH CAREY and others and DIANNE WARREN has written and produced so many hits for various artists.Celine also had the privilege to have a love song written by PRINCE called "With This Tear".There are also a few uptempo songs including the hit by DIANNE WARREN "Love Can Move Mountains".This is one of her classics albums.Buy it.You won't be sorry.

2-0 out of 5 stars DULL!BORING in SOME PLACES!
There are some good songs on this album, but the pace of the album is BORING and DULL!There are like five ballads back to back which make you fall to sleep.Beauty and the Beast, If You Asked me To and the funky Love Can Move Mountains (in its full five minutes here!) are all great, but the other songs have too much aftertaste.Only on the later efforts Falling Into You and Let's Talk About Love did she get better in assembling albums and getting them right. But this album has a blandness that just drags and doesn't keep you alert. You'd run off the road on a flat interstate highway in Kansas if you'd hear this on a CD car stereo.Just too dull!Sorry, Celine!

5-0 out of 5 stars Celine Dion rules!

    Editorial Review

"The Power of Love" was Celine Dion's first chart-topping song in America, but it was a career-defining moment in more ways than one. It established her as a dependable hitmaker and also fixed the pattern of her biggest successes to come--songs that begin with delicate melodies and spare instrumentation and build into big, powerful productions over which Dion's incomparable vocals hit stratospheric heights. Dion attempts other directions on The Colour of My Love, such as the light dance-pop of"Misled" and "Everybody's Talkin' My Baby Down," but they don't ring as true as her duet with Clive Griffin in "When I Fall in Love" (from the film Sleepless in Seattle) and the title track. --Daniel Durchholz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Colour Of My Love
Argueably her most diverse work to date,The Colour of My Love was Dion's worldwide breakthrough and put her at equal footing with every female musical superstar of the time.

The album that launched her worldwide success, colour of my love spawned a series of chart topping, record breaking singles. In the UK it was "Think Twice", the heartwrenching ballad of a broken romance. In the US, along with the rest of the world, it was "The Power of Love", a truly breathaking performance accompanied by powerful guitar chords and Dion's enchanting vocals.

An album that was a true triumph, her first album to acheive multiplatinum success, and selitified Dion's presence as a true international diva.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect album from Celine!
I totally lurve this album from Mrs.Dion! I have all of her english albums now except These are the special times, but I'm working on that one (hehe). In my opinion the best albums out of all of them are; The colour of my love, Let's Talk About Love, Falling Into You, Unison and A new day has come. Well heck, they all are her best albums ever made!! The song "The Colour Of my love" was played at Céline's wedding while she was walking down the aisle (I read this on a Céline fan website) and in this album she tells René that he's the colour of her love. They then got married in the year of 1994, after The Colour Of My Love was released! And I think some of the very best songs are: The Power Of Love, Misled, Think Twice, Everybody's Talkin' My Baby Down, Next Plane Out, I remember L.A., and The Colour Of My Love *Of course*! My Aunt Audrey even has this album and she lurves it too!! And I highly reccomend that you B-U-Y this album today if you don't already have it. It is all about love and is the best love album!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best way to review a CD!
Rate each song simply: on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

    The Power of Love: 5/5.
    Misled: 5/5.
    Think Twice: 4/5.
    Only One Road: 4.5/5.
Everybody's Talking my Baby Down: 4.5/5.
    Next Plane Out: 5/5.
    Real Emotion: 4/5.

    I Remember L.A.: 5/5.
No Living without Loving You. 5/5.
    Lovin' Proof. 3.5/5.
The Colour of my Love: 4/5.

The 5/5 songs are outstanding; the 4/5 songs are very good; the 3/5 are good, and nothing is below that! This bespeaks a highly recommended album. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars good album!a heralder of what celine can do!
Unison is the debut album of one of the most powerful and successful divas in the world music industry. I rate Unison with 3 stars eventhough I'm a big BIG fan of Celine. In this album, the sound engineering and the choice of instruments and synthesizers are very reminiscent of the pop sound of songs from the 80's era. The very first single, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" is outstanding enough for the uninitiated Celine Dion would-be devotee. It shows her indomitable vocal power and her truly truly immense octave range. This is one song that whispers: "Hey Mariah (who also began her career in the same year 1990) and hey Whitney!!!!" "You may as well move over-I mean vocally!!!"Dion's intonation of vowels is just so wide and so big that she effortlessly rises inches above Mariah and Whitney. Her powerful delivery is the one to beat and it seems quite impossible since her dynamics were also hugely-incredible.

The sound of the song, the power of its message, Celine's grandiose delivery, the excellence of its arrangement(especially how the song moves from the 2nd stanza towards the first chorus) and the thundering drumbeats which makes us say: "gosh, were back in the 80's era again at this moment!!!" are the absolute highlights of "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", a track to be listened as good as the hundredth time as it was the first time. Hear for yourself. Period.
I must close my review for now and be back next time but please allow me to say that "The Last To Know" is also a great album highlight but still no match for "Where Does My Heart Beat Now"

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Voice!
In the album "Unison" Celine Dion shows the world her great amazing voice. In this album she gives us 10 well sang songs. In my point of view Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are the voice of the 90's and beyond.I recommend this album to anyone who is a Celine Dion fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars CELINE WILL LEAVE YOU IN UNISON
At just 20 years old Celine Dion released her American debut album titled Unison in 1990 that would make her one of America's most loved singers of all time. And now for a song by song tracklist,
    1. If there was any other way,
This was the second single to be released from Unison and with a pop dance beat Celine's lyrics and neat voice made this song a worthwhile hit,
    2. If love is out the question,
This song is a rock styled song in which we find that Celine is no Steve Perry and shows her rock style in this rock filled song,
    3. Where does my heart beat now,
This was the first single from Unison that introduced many Americans to Celine Dion and this song has a power ballad sort of feel and a very awesome guitar solo. The video that accompanies this song features Celine singing this song in a concert and is really cool. This song was lucky enough to grant Celine a top 40 single on the charts in 1990,
    4. The last to know,
Originally sung by the late Laura Branigan Celine takes this remake and makes it her very own. With it's Survivor-like sound and a very pretty flute solo this song was lucky to be the third single from this album. It's also written by Phil Galdston who has wriiten many hits for some of my other favorite singers including Brandy Kathie Lee Gifford and Vanessa Williams and should not be missed,
    5. I'm loving every moment with you,
This ballad has a very soothing tempo and is about how love is very strong no matter how much your crush is there to help you along the way.If you have a loving relationship with your crush this song is for you,
    6. Love by another name,
This song is one of Celine's most funnest songs to dance to on the album and the chorus features a Zapp and Roger sounding voice singing the chorus on the song. The song features Ruth Pointer on background vocals,
    7. Unison,
The fourth and final single from the album seems like a ripoff of Eddie Murphy's hit Party All The Time but has a catchy sing along chorus and is where the title of my review is from,
    8. I feel too much,
Could easily fit at home in the freestyle category,
    9. If we could start over,
Like every Celine Dion album this is the power ballad of Unison and has a rock soft pop sound to it.I think this song sounds like Vanessa Williams Save the best for last but this song would have been lucky to be released as a single,
    10. Have a heart,
The last song on the album is about a troubled relationship gone wrong and Celine tells her crush to have a heart or he will miss her,

5-0 out of 5 stars The real Celine Dion experience!!!!!
This CD showcases Celine Dion's vocal talent at it's best, and I often find that much of this gifted artist's work is better when recorded live rather than in the studios. I find that this CD along with her previous live release "Live Al Olympia" reveal Celine at her best, unlike other artists who's on-stage and live performances often prove to be more damaging to their credibility as singers. The album contains exceptional moments- my favorite, perhaps, is when Celine reveals a hidden talent...her astonishing ability to imitate the sounds of instruments as she introduces the members of her musical entourage. Also, the fresh quality and appeal of the often over-played 'Deaux' tracks, proves that when Celine performs her studio-recorded material live- she sings with such vitality and passion that it seems that we're hearing these songs for the first time. Adding the single "To Love You More" was indeed a 'bonus', but I find that it is out of place on this testament to Dion's abilities as a 'live' performer and I don't consider it to be one of the more shining moments on this album. However, the moments that do shine are what should perhaps be consideredCeline trademark tracks, classics such as "The Power of Love" and "Ziggy", which are, naturally, included. This is the album that made me realize that if I would be given only one opportunity to see an artist live, I would definitely choose Celine Dion, for she makes the concert experience a truly memorable and worthwhile one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Amazing One Celine!
This is an awesome work from Celine Dion. All her cd's are great but this is one of the best. Please try the video of this concert, it's awesome. All Celine Dion fans please support her and buy her new cd; which will be out the 23th and 24th of October all over the globe.Celine Rocks!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Legendary Performance
An Epic concert experience at the legendary Stata De France before 200,000 people that spanned over 2 different nights. This performance block was over a 2 week, 4-night performance schedule on the UK portion of Dion's 98 tour. 2 back to back performances at Stata De France for 100,000 people per night, and 2 English performances at Wembley Stadium.78,000 patrons per show. Concert attendance was recordbreaking.

Although Celine has vocally sounded better on past live efforts, namely "Live in Paris" which was recorded at the legendary Zenith theater in France, in which her voice sounded incredible. This album lives up to the legendary billing that it has been given. A true feet in sound and choreography, the challenge of adapting a show that normally played for 25,000 people to 100,000 people was achieved and Dion and her band delivered.

On this album Celine glides through songs from her most recent French release. Celine's quiet and captivating performance of the weary "Je Crois Toi" and the powerful moving performances of "Terre" and "Dans Un Autre Monde" are exciting to the concert listener. Celine tackles 2 songs from her record breaking, 1995 best selling French album in history, Duex. "Pour Que Taimes Encore" is a crowd favorite and the tragic "Je Sais Pas" (I Don't Know), is especially touching due to the cancer scare Dion's husband was going through at the time.

Celine also samples a few English hits including the worldwide phenomenon "My Heart Will Go On and the title track from her most recent English release "Lets Talk About Love."

With Dion's touring days behind her it is unlikely that fans will ever see such an epic performance again in her career.

5-0 out of 5 stars J'aime Au Coeur Du Stade CD!!!
I love the LIVE Au Coeur Du Stade CD, it sounds so awesome with the audience cheering for Celine and Celine singing in French and singing 2 songs in English. Celine sounds so much better in French than English! But I love her singing in both languages, too! And even though I don't know all french, but some how I enjoy her French music more, and it's fun to listen to! I reccomend you all buy this CD today!!! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Au Coeur Du Stade, totally rocks!
I abselutly love this LIVE CD of Céline Dion. Her French music is much much more better than her English music!! I'm not the only one who likes her French music more, than English though. Even though I don't speak French, her French music touches me in away to love it anyways. :) I didn't actually buy the Au Coeur Du Stade CD, it was burned for me. I'm glad I got it burned! I totally love it:) I can't stop saying that I love it, cos I do. My favorite part on this CD is where she does the duet with Jean-Jacques Goldman...:) And then when she sings My Heart Will Go On and Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore!! Céline is the best singer, in the world. Nobody can compare to her! I highly recommend on buying Au Coeur Du Stade now... :)! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome livesinger
Most of the songs are in french and on the "Dion chante Plamondon" Album.
Les mots qui sonnent: This dance-tune is one of the best Celine Dion-songs ever
Where does my heart beat now: This was her first english hit-single. It's a typical Celine Dion-ballad.
L'amour existe encore: What a wonderful ballad. Check out the spanish version on her new album "A new day has come"
Je danse dans ma tete: A trashy pop-song. Not my favourite
Calling you: I don't know who has sung this song at first but I don't like it when Celine sings it. Sandra Pires' version is A LOT better
Elle: This wonderful ballad with meanigful lyrics is only avaiable on this CD
Medley Starmania: with "Quand on arrive en ville" (Great for dancing), "Le monde est stone" (nice ballad), "Les uns contre les autres" (It's so-so) and "Nazilansd ce soir on danse" (great dancesong).
Le blues du businessman: Dreamy ballad
Le fils se superman: Again a ballad
Love can move mountains: An up-tempo-song with choir. very athmospheric
Ziggy: This song is too slow. It's getting boring
The power of love: This wonderful ballad is characteristic for her. Another one of her best songs ever.
Quand on n'a que l'amour: Another romantic ballad

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This is one of Celine's best live performances. "Quand on n'a que l'Amour" will BLOW you AWAY!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good single
This single is very good! Re-mixes are good, and cover is BEAUTIFUL!!! a most for Celine fans!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good track... but
As a Celine Dion fan, I was a little bit disappointed that "I WantYou To Need Me" was underappreciated in the United States, where itlacked significant airplay (it was number one in her native Canada, though). However, I would not have chosen it as the follow-up to the hugesmash "That's The Way It Is." Celine's been overproduced thistime. She screams a lot in this song, and that is a shame, since the lyricsare great, and she worked with Matt Serletic (remember Santana's"Smooth"?). Well, there is consolation in the fact that there aresingle-worthy hits in her "All The Way" album that can takeCeline back to Number 1; for example, the Shania Twain-penned hit "IfWalls Could Talk" and the great ballad "Then You Look AtMe," which can be found in the "Bicentennial Man"soundtrack. Let's hope 550 music digs into Celine's album once more andchooses a well-deserved smash in one of the aforementioned tunes.

5-0 out of 5 stars "I WANT YOU TO NEED ME"
Well, it is not a surprise anymore that Celine causes a great impact whenever a new song comes out. When I fist heard " I WANT YOU TO NEEDME", my heart started beating faster. As we don?t have singles inBrazil, I went crazy to get it. I was on vacations in Buenos Aires passingby a cd store when I saw this single. You guys can imagine how I felt! This has to be one of the most beautiful albums ever released in French. This was also released in the US in 1994, but never had that real commercial success as her other albums, or if any in French that is released here. But my favorite are Le monde est stone and L'amour existe encore. A must have!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful collaboration between artist and writer!
Georges Herbert-Germain does a wonderful job finding the equilibrium between C?line's public stage-life and her emotional private-life.The book's chapter pattern of singer to woman to singer shows that there's more to C?line Dion than being a diva and an international pop icon.Despite being followed by the media since she was 12, C?line appears to have remained grounded in the stories of her past, present, and what she plans to do in the future. There's more behind this diva besides Titanic and pipes of platinum.

5-0 out of 5 stars A book of love, music, talent & family values
I have read this book umpteen times now! It was a great gift I recieved 2 Christmases ago. Celine's book enchants me with her story of family values, right from the start. This young woman's career has been what you'd call an "amazing triumph". Celine's author writes of the Dion family's pride for their sibling. The most touching part of the book has to be the 1st. This is where the Dion clan forms. We read about how Celine's mom & dad meet, and how they never fail to support their huge family.

Each section of the book has a bunch of great, moving photos, following Celine down her long road to success. Each photo tells her story in chronological order. It makes me think of a blossoming flower, going from stage to stage.

There is also a story of what Celine has done, in preparation of her "Falling into you" tour. Georges Hebert tells the every stress Celine has felt on given days. I was amazed about how she is so loved in foreign countries. The book has skyrocketed into great success, either in french or english. I am looking forward to buying her latest book. My likes for her are not finished, even though she is on her sabbatical.

Buy the book and read it carefully. It's the type of book you won't put down! Did my review help you?

5-0 out of 5 stars Bravo!
No word can truly discribe Celine's wonderful voice, dreams and spirit, but I believe this book has managed to do the best it could. Of course, you cannot feel Celine's passion by simply read a book. However, I can ensureyou that after reading this book, you must at least start to like thisreal-life model of human being -- Celine Dion. ... Read more

It's almost impossible to believe it didn't already exist, but now that it does, you can bet the sure-to-go-platinum These Are Special Times will turn up under many a Christmas tree this year (the perfect gift for the person who has everything?). The prolific princess of pop has thrown together a mixture of contemporary and traditional holiday favorites, bordering on too-cute and kitschy only on the intro to "Feliz Navidad." For many, Dion is an acquired taste, but even naysayers may enjoy her rare moments of restraint on a smoky version of "Blue Christmas." "The Prayer," a duet with Andrea Bocelli, is set to become this season's "Time to Say Goodbye," but it will have to battle it out with the R. Kelly duet, "I'm Your Angel," first. --Rebecca Wallwork ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Chhristmas CD
I have owned this Celine Dion Christmas CD since it was released for Christmas 1998. I love it and listen to it every year during CHristmas. Her voice is beautiful and I love her version of O' Holy Night, and I love some of her original songs escpecially Christmas Eve. My whole family enjoys this album. Sometimes we even listen to it when it is not Christmas. Celine is great and is a wonderful singer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent holiday music!
This is one of my personal favorite seasonal CD's. Celine sings these songs with her usual power and emotion, so that anyone can enjoy them. It's a beautiful collection. I find the greatest song on the album to be "Christmas Eve." The rest of it is a fine combination of classic favorites and newer ones that may become classics as well. "Feliz Navidad" is a fun and refreshing track too. Thumbs up to Celine's contribution to holiday music.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Christmas Album
I think Celine Dion's Christmas album is perfect for the times.Oddly, I play it even when it isn't Christmas. Each song is lovely.I'm only saddened by the fact that she went "Las Vegas."But I don't want to get started on that subject. It's Christmas time and I can truly enjoy the season with this beautiful selection by Celine. ... Editorial Review

Doubters who expect little from Celine Dion but turgid ballads will be surprised by her return to recording after several years. On A New Day Has Come, the big production numbers most associated with the Canadian superstar's name ("My Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me") are evoked by the two versions of "I Surrender" and somewhat lifeless covers of "At Last" and "Nature Boy." At the same time, though, Dion shows her willingness to stretch on the classic-house homage "Sorry for Love" and the unavoidably catchy "Right in Front of You" and "Ten Days." The album's unexpected, often low-key production allows Dion to emote in a straightforward way that gracefully skirts the chest thumping of past days, and the relative subtlety works in her favor. Still, New Day will hardly prove a shocker for her many fans. Crowning the conservative Dion a forward-thinking diva seems a bit premature, but this agreeable record opens the door to such a possibility. --Rickey Wright ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I've waited a long time for the one album to change my life,
and this is certainly it. I purchased this in 2003 on a trip to Canada. I had absolutely no idea what to expect... more love ballads? Any catchy songs? When I scanned the disc under a previewer, I heard the fist single, "A New Day Has Come". I felt like I had heard the most beautiful, intoxicating, inspirational song in the world. It's been over two years, and I still feel as strongly about this album as I did when I purchased it. "A New Day Has Come" (both the song and the album) have changed my life in more ways than one. This album is the most inspirational art I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. The album, in its entirety, is amazing. I only hope that Celine Dion continues to make music as amazing as the songs in this collectoin.

5-0 out of 5 stars A New Day Has Come by Celine Dion = GORGEOUS
This album is so wonderful. The songs are so catchy you just can't help listening to them over and over again. I recommend it to everyone- if you like Celine or if you're just beginning to like her, it's an album full of beautiful and meaningful lyrics, and makes you want to dance...what's wrong with that?!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not usually among my favorite artists....
This is neither my favorite album nor my favorite artist, but I've chosen to review it because it a favorite of my pre-teen-aged daughter, and a couple of the tracks are growing on me.My eleven-year old likes to fall asleep to this CD and she has commented, more than once, that she would like to have a voice like Celine Dion's.Since I'm not a huge fan of Celine Dion, this album surprised me; her voice is relaxed and natural which sets this CD apart from her others that are full of pompous ballads.I don't dislike her voice, primarily because she doesn't have that warbly wannabe voice that most singers seem to have these days. Her voice is angelic and powerful, but I don't think she's quite as polished as Barbara Streisand.I take that back. She probably is as good as Babs, but unlike Ms. Streisand, Celine seems to choose songs that showcase her talent, while Barbara Streisand uses her voice to showcase what she sings.
Nevertheless, I cannot deny that there is magic in Celine's music, with the power to transform because of her graceful manner of showing emotion in some of these songs, especially, "Goodbye's" and "Prayer."Her angelic voice is subtle, yet vigorous and powerful.I sometimes find myself silently singing the lyrics to "Goodbye's (the Saddest Word)," a song about a mother's farewell to a grown child who has rediscovered her love for her mother, beceause she has recently given birth to a child of her own.Celine sings this song with passion and tenderness, and I was particularly impressed by the soaring key changes (two of them). It helps, also, that Shania Twain sings backup vocals for this track.
This is a long album; it feels like more meaty than the sixteen versatile cuts on it. The first couple of songs didn't impress me:"I'm Alive," is new-age-like with a dance flavor, and "Right in Front of You" is a light pop tune with an upbeat tempo."Have You Ever Been in Love" begins in typical Celine Dion ballad fashion, that begins with a light piano and her voice at low and sleepy pitches. However, she builds up to a crescendo that begins to give one the sense of the power that she's harnessing. This is the first song where we hear her soaring key ranges, but the song is too smooth for my taste.
One of my daughter's favorites is "Rain, Tax (It's Inevitable)."The music in this song has a little bit techo-type of quality, especially in the beginning, with a lot of syncopation.Sure, she belts out a few lines sort of like Cher, and the tune is a bit catchy, but her voice doesn't do anything special yet."A New Day Has Come (Radio Remix)" reminds me a little of Enya, but not quite as angelic."Ten Days" begins with acoustic guitar and has a strong steady beat, but doesn't have much more to offer.
"Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)" is a touching ballad that Celine sings with passion and power that moves me every time I hear it, but the next song, "Prayer" showcases her talent. It is another ballad that is loaded with emotional power. She's just warming up, though, and sings "I Surrender" with such drama that my heart is touched. In this song, we get a sense of Celine's talent. Her strength lies in her wide vocal range (again, not quite as wide as Barbara Streisand, but wide enough that it merits a mention) and her ability to hold those high notes for long periods of time.In this song, she bridges the high notes beautifully and with a subtle beauty. This song begins slow and ballad-like, but the tempo picks up and syncopation is added to make it almost danceable. She begins to unleash the power of her vocal chords in this song, in a passionate and dramatic fashion that is moving.
I usually cringe when I hear remakes, but I was surprised by the freshness that Celine Dion brought to "At Last," a beautiful old ballad that begins at low pitches with a steady rhythmic beat that has a blues-like tone sung with tenderness.
"Sorry for Love" sounds like techno-Cher at her best.I was most impressed by how long she can hold, not just a note, but a high note, without faltering, which she holds for 16 (count them) seconds."When the Wrong One Loves You Right" is an upbeat, syncopated, almost danceable track, that features some high notes toward the end."A New Day Has Come" is a ballad with its highlight of layered vocals in the chorus that gives this song an almost Enya-like quality, although Celine's angelic voice is unmistakeable. The harmony in this song is also pleasant.Overall, it is upbeat yet relaxing.
I'll summarize with a little bit of triviality. In all, there are eight or nine dance-type songs, nine love ballads, and a couple of light pop music tracks. In addition, the word "love" is mentioned over 50 times, "heart" over a dozen times, and spiritual references such as "angel," "spirit," or "God," at least 25 times. Most impressive are the 7 or so soaring key changes, two of which occur in "Goodbye's"

1-0 out of 5 stars I want my money back.
I'm a big Cyndi Lauper fan, and kinda like Celine Dion (until now).So I was curious. But after she butchered "I Drove All Night", I want my money back. And even if you are a big fan of Celine, why would you buy this?!?It's obviously marketed to line her pockets.I heard she would stay silent to preserve her voice for shows.I wish she would do that in the studio, too.

3-0 out of 5 stars The one time I wanted Celine to oversing something...
I Drove All Night is one of my favorite songs of all time! Romantic and not schamltzy(?), great lyrics, great hook... a perfect pop song. I love Cyndi's version the best, love Roy's too. When I heard that Celine was covering it, I was really really excited. I love Celine's version too, but IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT BETTER. If any song was written to have passion and to be oversung (something that Celine is always criticized for) it is this song! This could have become her trademark track if she went into the studio and came out bleeding from the ears nose and throat. It seems to me half sung. If she put all of her vocals in to it like she does with all her power ballads that just come off sounding like Mountain Dew commercials, it would have been a much better song.

1-0 out of 5 stars Much better sung by Cyndi
... What was Celine thinking when she decided to record this song? I love Celine, I have all her albums, even the import ones but choosing this song as the first single from he new album is nonsense. First, this song was recorded with no passion, no heart, no feeling in it, YOU CAN TELL THIS IF YOU ARE A CELINE FAN and wanna know something? I AM A CELINE FAN!!! But this song .... There are much better tracks on her new album than this song. Ej: Faith, Stand By Your Side, Reveal, etc...

My point is that why Sony never released the first version of "SORRY FOR LOVE" which is a million times better than "I DROVE ALL NIGHT", Celine makes you feel what she's singing in that song. So stay away from this cd single. The Remix? Is not Hex Hector's best... Believe me. But buy Celine's new album "ONE HEART" is not so bad. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

To call Celine Dion predictable would be too easy--other divas should be so lucky to still be walking her platinum path. As Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey struggle to update their sounds without losing their core following, Celine keeps on delivering power ballads and inspirational pop without ever losing her footing. What sets One Heart apart from her previous chart-toppers is an unrelenting theme of joy and believing in one's self. From the car-commercial-driven tempo of "I Drove All Night" (Dion's equivalent to Cher's "Believe") to the "power of one" message in "Love is All We Need," the album bristles with an upbeat mood that--even for non-fans--can be hard to resist (it's important to note that there is no chest-thumping heartbreak here). Small concessions to staying in step with pop trends appear on the dance-floor tracks (which bring to mind Shania Twain and even Britney Spears), but ballads like "In His Touch" and "Have You Ever Been in Love" stick to the tried-and-true formula of allowing Dion's impressive voice to take center stage. As she settles in for an extended stay at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, One Heart is both well timed and well executed. It contains no surprises, but then, besides her voice, that's one of Dion's biggest assets. --Rebecca Wallwork ... Read more

Just got this album yesterday. It's incredible. It's joyous, uplifting and alive. Perfect for when you're cleaning. Which I was earlier. So yeah, this album rocks.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Canadian Whitney Houston
This is another masterpiece by Celine Dion. She is one of the greatest artists alive and no Canadian artist, not Shania Twain, or Alanis Morissette or Sarah Mclachlan, can match her vocally. My sister borrowed this album from the library and well, let me just say I'm glad she did cause this is such a great and beautiful collection of songs. Nearly every song on this album is perfect and her amazing vocals make it sound even better. Vocally, she is in the league with other megastars such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand and Christina Aguilera. If you are a fan of Celine Dion or just great music in general, buy this album cause you won`t be disappointed.
