Amazing Music, Powerful Message!
"Shout to the Lord: Platinum Collection" is a two-cd compilation of the very best from one of the most gifted, inspired worship bands in the world today (yes they are that good!). Based at Hillsong Church in Australia, this band, led by tremendously talented singer/songwriter Darlene Zschech. "Shout to the Lord" is the most well-known song from the album, but every song on both cds is amazing!

Each CD starts out with a set of about 4-5 really uplifting, energizing praise and worship songs like: People Just Like Us, He's Real, My Redeemer Lives, Touching Heaven Changing Earth, and God is in the House. (think amazing gospel vocals, dazzling guitar and bass riffs, with a driving beat and a great message of hope).

Interspersed on the CDs are also some more mellow, contemplative ballads, that brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart like: I will Run to You, Jesus, What a Beautiful Name, and Potter's Hand, among others. They are rich with beautiful harmonies, singable melodies and amazing but not overdone instrumentation. There are many songs on these two discs that are great for use with a congregation or group, particularly the more meditative songs like "Jesus What a Beautiful Name" or "I will Run to You."

This collection is powerfully moving, not to mention GREAT music, by amazing musicians. God is definitely "in the house" (quoting song of same title on the CD) on this one! Definitely check it out! You will be forever changed and uplifted!

Platinum Collection Indeed
This certainly is a moving album, having you hopping around your house, jumping, dancing, and praising the Lord!(And I don't even attend a church like that!)I scratched up my first disc so I'm looking into buying this CD again, but it's so hard to find!It's a shame that it's hard to find because this CD is certainly a classic.This is Darlene Zschech and Hillsongs' best album with all of their best songs.This live album makes you feel as if you're really in a worship arena.I prefer the first disc, but both CDs are a great blessing.A must for anyone who loves praise and worship music.

Shout To The Lord, Wow What a beautiful and all True Song
I haven't purchased the CD yet, but I love the song "Shout To The Lord." This song will truly get your spirit lifted and you'll be so amazed that the song seems like it was writen just for you to sing. I've always been a skeptic of my own singing voice even though alot of people have told me differently, but the Holy Ghost led me to record myself singing wth this song on my own personal cassett recorder. Though I'm not Nashville or Branson or Hollywood material, I really felt for the first time in my life that my singing ability in this song was really good! Praise Be To God!!!!!!! Glory to the most Holy...amen and amen!!!

Wonderful worship songs

An impressive thread of praise and worship runs through the career of Michael W. Smith. After all, he's penned two of today's finest modern praise songs ("Great Is the Lord" and "Agnus Dei"), and he was the creative genius behind Exodus, a brilliant collection of worship material. Yet that same artistic spirit seems sadly lacking on Worship, Smith's first solely praise and worship release. All parts are assembled, with Smith on vocals and keyboards, and an all-star choir of Amy Grant, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Chris Rice, Cindy Morgan, and others backing him on this live release. But outside of a few selected tracks ("Let It Rain" and "Draw Me Close"), Worship falls flat. Smith's decision to cover the day's most popular praise songs and not focus on new material of his own weakens the record's impact. In fact, "Purified," one of two studio tracks on the release, was cowritten by Smith and his wife, and it's the CD's brightest moment. Good, but covers songs that have been overdone
I have bought Michael W. Smith's albums since his "Project" many many years ago.He is very talented, and a lot fo people will like this album.THe only drawback, and it is a real one, is that most of the songs have already been done many times over.If you don't have a unique new approach or arrangement to songs that have oversaturated the market, then the question is WHY?Michael and friends have the talent and creativity to knock our socks off.
We are still waiting...(...).

Overwhelming and profoundly moving
One of the most amazingly moving and inspiring CDs I have ever heard.Songs like "Breath" and "Let it Rain" are incredible.I only wish I could have attended this amazing concert.Highly recommended.

Spiritually satisfaying
I have to give Michael Smith 5 stars for this album, for those who are looking for His Holy Presence, and deep worship, this is a great instrument device to lift up your spirit and take you directly to heaven.Michael Smith is new to me, and i must say i am most pleased with this album, im sure i will continue to buy his songs.Everytime, i play the cd, i start singing, and end up in deep worship, i must say i do feel the warmth of His embrace.Good Gracious Lord!! ... The Best Worship CD!!
I love this CD. This Cd consists of the best worships songs I know. Hungry is such a good song, it is followed by Better is One Day. This song will make you want sing and rejoice. I recommend this CD to all Christians. This is a great CD!!

Good But Not Perfect
This album is in my opinion better than the original (Wow Worship Blue).The main reason I voted this a four star is because it still encorperates many of the older songs with the new.It is still a good buy though and I would say that it is about half and half for the old and new issue.Basically, what I want to say is that this is a very good album though it would be better if they used some more of the newer material to get it around and for a new experience with the God.

A rousing compilation of mostly modern worship songs
I enjoy worshiping the Lord to these modern day worship classics. I especially like the first CD in this set, the songs "Light the Fire Again," "Rock of Ages," "We Want to See Jesus Lifted High," "In That Day," "In the Secret," and "You are God" are just awesome, catchy, melodic worship songs to the Lord. The second CD slows down the pace a little bit and most of the songs are not quite as edgy and tuneful as the songs from the first CD, but "Awesome God," "Shine Jesus Shine," and "God is Good All the Time" deliver the goods.

Great Collection Of Praise Songs - But Not The Best
Hillsongs Australia is a huge Christian Praise & Worship ministry (from Hills Christian Life Centre, Sydney, Australia) that is sweeping the world, assisting people in praise of God.
This album is a collection of some up-beat "praise" songs from previous albums.The songs are great and this is the "fast" collection album of it's kind from Hillsongs.Hills have put out some great albums since this CD, the best (and latest) being "All Things Are Possible".

Great to Exercise Both Body and Spirit!
I love this set of CD's.I teach Water Aerobics and I use them alternately for getting the heart rate going and my toning classes.The selection of songs work well to exercise physically and, I've been told by my students, that they felt lead into a rich worship experience by the end of our workout.I lost one of the CD's last summer and am looking to replace it.A great buy!

Eclectic
This set of CD's has an excellent mix of old and new. (The newest worship songs are not here because of the age of the CD's.) This is a great CD for people who want to sing along with songs they know. It is also a great CD for new Christians who want to learn some of the older worship songs, and it is equally as good for older Christians who want to update their worship song repetoire. It is a very sing-along-able CD. It has a mix of upbeat and more reflective songs and styles of artists. Supurb as Always
Hillsong continues to lead the world in contemporary Christian praise, the CD is no exception. From the outstanding arrangements to the Spirit led praise, the moment you play this CD the mood is set for praise through this annointed music.

There are quality arrangements throughout this recording which include but not limited to; You Are My World, All of My Days and Forever. This is not just the celebration of praise but the intimate expression of worship to God. This is a great CD and is highly recommended

Their best yet!
I have loved Hillsongs worship cds from "Shout to the Lord", and I have to say this is their best so far.Every song on here is a good one, but "God is Great" really kicks it off strong and rocking after "Your Love is Beautiful" starts the cd out.By far, the best song on here is "My Best Friend".Crank that song up and just TRY to stay still!This is one that you'll be playing over and over again.You want this cd!Highly recommended!

This is absolutly the best cd of all time!!!!
I cannot stress how amazing this cd is. There is no rating high enough for this cd. God has changed my life through every song. i've grown so much closer to Him. Now I worship Jesus with this cd every day and not just on Sundays. Be prepared to actually feel His Spirit saturate the room. From the fast, rocky "My Best Friend" and the and the latin sounding "all around the world" which will keep you on your feet to the slow worshipful "Irrisistible" and "worthy is the Lamb" you'll be transformed into a life more like Him. For This Cause review
I love how this album starts off on One Day,(one of my favorite Hillsong Songs) then goes straight into Faith (my favorite song in this album)with lots of Spanish horns and rythms. I also think For this Cause, Carry Me, and Lifted Me High are also good songs.
All in all, this album is worth getting.

Not the original artists
Although this is a decent "sound-alike" compliation album, I felt that this was a case of "bait and switch."The original artists are given credit, and the works are "used by permission," but the music is clearly performed by someone other than the original artists - and no credit is given to whoever is performing the tracks.I gave it 2 stars because it is very listen-able, but I prefer the "Dove Awards" compilation albums - with the original music by the original artists.This is one time I regretted buying on-line.If I had seen this in the store, I would not have purchased it. ... Worship -- kicked up a notch!
"Explosive praises and heartfelt worship" -- that it how I can sum-up this CD.A great starter for anyone wanting to build a Hillsongs collection, this CD compiles pumped-up old hits with instant new favorites, such as the joyful "Hear Our Praises". The power of God is certainly tangible as you listen to the CD! Darlene Zschech shines as the worship leader and the power of the vast chorus is felt throughout this praise extravaganza.

Noteworthy:This CD is also available in video format.The only thing that could top hearing the celebration that took place in Sydney is witnessing the joy with your own eyes!I highly recommend you buy the video as well as the CD.

AWESOME
This is the most awesome CD ever produced. Our contemporary service, Trinity United Methodist Church in Sarasota, FL, uses the music every Sunday, with the help of God in worship and in praise. We have 14-16 singers in our praise band and love every song on the CD....my personal favorite is "Shout to the Lord" with "Jesus Is Alive" running a close second.Bless each of the producers of this CD and the looking forward to many, many more songs to share with our service. Shout to the Lord 2000 kicks out the praise in a style that isn't at all like your 200 year old dirgy old hymns.Yet it as all from the heart and all is to worship God.This CD is my new favorite!!Quite frankly - the only way I ever got pulled in to God's family is because I was introduced to contemporary Christian music.Upset about the lyrics on mainstream music? if you think the cd/cassette was good, the video is really awesome. Hillsongs usually record an album with fourteen cuts but the 14th song was not included on the cd or cassette. Shadow Of Your Wings is another highlight on the album. It was sung by Darlene and their acoustic guitarist Reuben Morgan and was penned also by Morgan. The song has so much acoustic touch to it because David Moyse(their lead guitar player) and another guitar player together with Morgan went up front and played acoustic. Darlene was standing on the center while Morgan and the other guitar players sat on a stool. here is the lyric...

(reuben's part) My spirit rest in You alone/ You're all i know/ Embrace and touch me like a child/ I'm safe in You
Chorus: You're my shelter through it all/ You're my refuge and my strength/ Lord i hide in the Shadow of Your wings

and the song goes on for about 8 minutes. the next song was Glory to the King which was another all-acoustic song.

All Tracks Are Wonderful
"All Things Are Possible" is an abundant praise and worship experience.Hillsongs Australia delivers the same conventional live service with a little bit funky praise and deep worship.The congregation is great.The worship leaders are remarkable which is quite different because a woman dominates the crowd, the adorable lead singer Darlene Zschech.

All tracks are wonderful except for the instrumental "Before The Throne".Among the 14 tracks, the following 13 songs are my favorites and plus factors (in order):

1st "Love You So Much" - What a great worship song!An easy song to sing- what requires is a sincere heart.An overwhelming experience that keeps your soul longing for more.An everybody's favorite!

2nd "All Things Are Possible" - Great opening song - also deserves to be the carrier song of the album.Join this high-energy song that achieved exhilarating reply from the audience.Truly, there is no other joy than praising God and knowing that He is sufficient.

3rd "So You Would Come" - This meditating song speaks about God's great love. A humble invitation to "Come to the Father...Though your gift is small'.Moving...Darlene's best!

4th "In Your Hands" - "So close I believe You're holding me now" - touching words that assures us that we are safe in His comfort...never letting us go. Remarkably inspiring!Never fail to lift up my soul.

5th "Glory To The King" -This song started from a simple guitar together with Darlene's soft voice that ended into a blessing experience. It makes me humble to hear the words "You're a father to the fatherless" - yes, all glory to you dear Father.

6th "People Get Free" - Awesome funky piece.Darlene's striking voice leads the people into a freedom of pleasing God through continuous dance and praise.

7th "Your Love" - I love this simple meditating song.With words "Your love is better than life" - it's so sweet to feel Jesus' love.

8th "The Love Of God Can Do" - Hearing this song can't help me on clapping my hands.Truly, God's love can do many wonders in our lives.For me, it always makes me smile.

9th "I Know It" - It's nice to proclaim how the Lord changed us...freed us - if you haven't known it yet, you'd better be.Executed in a groovy fashion...excellent!

10th "Can't Stop Talking" - Amazingly, the love that we encountered can't help us from sharing it to others. Trumpet-filled and full of fun!

Plus factors:

11th "I Live To Know You" - May this be our ultimate passion - to breath in desire of knowing our Savior deeper.An inspiring worship number.

12th "Lord Of All" -This long adoration song led by a male vocalist highlights our exaltation to the supreme One - the greatest among everything in life.

13th "Shelter House" - Keeping ourselves in the His covering presence brings power...and our hearts spirit-filled.Sets another groovy tune.

In general, this a magnificent album...one of a kind!Very effective in the praise and worship program.To the Hillsongs Ministries, keep on producing powerful God-centered songs. Your music is very much adored here in the Philippines.Truly, you are a blessing!
