Editorial Review

A meeting of two over-the-top pop minds was said a few years ago to have happened. If work between chest-pounding pop balladeer Celine Dion and legendarily eccentric producer Phil Spector hadn't been aborted in its early stages, fans of the Canadian superstar might have heard her best, most interesting music. As it is, Dion has shown herself game for a challenge, notably in a collaboration with Meat Loaf svengali Jim Steinman on the offbeat opus "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." All the Way... A Decade of Song is just what you'd expect of a multiplatinum seller's greatest-hits package, but it's also more. Displaying a generosity toward her fans, Dion cherry picks nine signature singles ("My Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me," "Beauty and the Beast"), then fills the rest of the CD with seven new cuts when one or two would have done the commercial trick. Most of these are just what admirers and detractors would expect, and Sinatra lovers will hope that All the Way's title track is the last time his family allows an invented Frank-and-random-celebrity duet to take place. But the textures of "I Want You to Need Me" and "Live," while hardly understated, are more measured. They give hope that Dion may yet take herself to a higher artistic plateau, while still pleasing her millions of listeners. --Rickey Wright ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars One song okay...but enough is enough!
Celine is a beautiful woman with a lovely natural, if untrained voice, but the style she adopted does not allow for the beauty of lyric or melody to come through at all. Celine has made a name for herself as yet another "vocal gymnast" who does not believe any song is good enough on it's own. She has to make it somehow "spectactular" by performing it along with a myriad of screams, yells, and supersonic vocalizations scattered through the melody. This stuff gets old very quickly, especially since Celine is crammed down our throats in every dentist office, Denny's, grocery store and "call waiting" phone feature.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Decade of Something...
In a truly civilised society this witch would be burnt at the stake.

1-0 out of 5 stars "OHH, Canada!"
Yesterday, I left my house to meet my friend Lyle up at Record Time on 9 Nine Mile. As I was pulling out of my driveway Limp Biskit was on the Radio, so I did what anyone of my age bracket would do; I turned it up, way up. As I cruised a cool 25 (mph) down my street I saw the two people that over the years have been less of a friend and more of an enemy, that's right Lance and Joe. As I was about a block away from `em the song switched on the radio to Coldplane "Clocks", so there was NO WAY I could fly past them blasting Coldplane. So as I was stumbling on an idea, it hit me, I had Lincoln Park in my CD player. I put the "peddle to the metal" and switched over to my CD player.

Well, it turns out Mom's car is in the shop so she borrowed MY car and forgot her Celine Dion CD in the player, so instead of blasting the ears off of Lance and Joe with Lincoln Park, they got an earful of that song from Titanic. I was stunned and confused but what made the situation worse is that I got stuck at a red light. Lance and Joe walked by, mocking me about speeding to Celine Dion. I then came to my senses and switched back to the radio. Coldplane is a lot sweeter to blast than Celine Dion, by the way. The light turned green and as I pulled away I showed Lance and Joe how "caustic" my tongue could be.

After that incident I decided I would do a review for Celine Dion. From what I understand she is not an American like me, which is good for my "American Ethnicity". She actually comes from my neighbor up-north, Canada. This can get a little sticky, seeing that I can't say anything bad about Canada because my good friend Lyle is from Manitoba. Not that I would say anything bad about Canada, I mean, well you know, they really haven't contributed anything to us. Well they do have there own Thanksgiving which allows me to have two since Lyle always invites me over for Canadian Thanksgiving but besides that I'm lost.

OHH HOCKEY!!!

Yeah, they contributed hockey...but that just died, still lost. Well if this review teaches us anything we now know the reason why Lyle's parents decided to move to the U. S. of A. In conclusion, Even though Canada isn't the best at exporting talent, they do offer us Americans that are fortunate enough to have a Canadian friend to indulge in a great American holiday Thanksgiving, twice! I wonder if they have a separate Christmas, too. I'll have to ask Lyle.

p.s. No one tell Lyle about this

p.p.s. Later

Editorial Review

Canadian thrush Celine Dion is primarily a singles artist, which is a good thing, because the soaring, epic style she brings to nearly all of her material is thrilling in four-minute bursts, but nearly overwhelming at album length. Falling into You is Dion's finest attempt to temper that approach--mixing low-key love songs and dance pop between showstoppers such as "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and the Up Close and Personal movie theme, "Because You Loved Me." Dion's take on Tina Turner's Phil Spector experiment "River Deep, Mountain High" is game, but there's little doubt which singer hails from the Great White North and which one is from Nutbush, Tennessee.--Daniel Durchholz ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My first Celine album
..and it got me hooked. No stopping me from there. The song I loved the most was It's all coming back to me now. I had never heard such a beautiful song in my life. It is her longest song, but well worth the 7 minutes to hear. I had decided if that sounded great, I should check out other songs on here. I was not disappointed. Because you loved me is a great song that can apply to at least one person in your life. All by Myself is a bit sad, but it's a great song to hear Celine's vocal abilities. Following All by Myself, is the much more upbeat song, Declaration of Love. One of my other favorites on this album is If that's what it takes (Por que tu maimes encore). It sounds better in French but I still have an appreciation for the English version. I'd recommend this album for Celine's vocal abilities, and some really great songs.

5-0 out of 5 stars An almost perfect album.
2 B frank, this is the 1st time 4 me 2 write a review, 'cause in my mind, doing reviews equals wasting time. But I have 2 rate 4 this album. Knowing nothing is perfect, I would give, 2 B exact,a 4.5 to this album(acutally this is the highest rank that I could possibly give). This is, in my opinion, the BEST album of Celine.Trust me, this comment is pretty objective,'cause it comes after my purchasing and listening all of her albums(French&English).
When Celine sings, she pours all of her emotions and sentiments in2 songs, and that's the reason Y her works always possess the power 2 touch our hearts, and this album is a good reflection. Her voice is like an angel's, so pure and so touching, sometimes like whiper of a brook, sometimes like eruption of a volcano. Thanks 2 her passion which controls the change and the transition so wonderfully.
Several No. 1s and some classic songs in this album, which make the album better.
OK,in brief, try this 1!Even if U like other genres of music, this disc is worth a try.

5-0 out of 5 stars Celine Sings to Your Heart
Celine is the finest singer of popular music in the world now.If that's not good enough, then what is?Her singing is flawless not because she hits the right notes everytime like an oepra singer (which she usually does), but because she sings from her heart - and that touches your heart. She brings each song to a higher level.Try singing the song yourself.Hear the difference. For those who can't appreciate her singing, I would suggest going for a formal hearing test (audiometry)by a doctor or audiologist before putting your comments down in print. This is her first big English album - which focussed attention on her 2 prior English albums - and its success in commercial sales just speaks for itself.150 million sales later, this is truly one lady whose songs are truly well worth spending your hard-earned money on. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The significance of this album is more than music itself...
This album is wonderful, and it lighted my desire 2 learn French, now I'm in France and can speak good French.C?The significance of this album has already surpassed music itself, and it even encourages U 2 learn the language and culture!!That is the amazing power of music and this album!!'Pour que tu m'aime encore'and 'Je sais pas' were put in2 her following English album'Falling in2 U' in their English version, named as 'If that's what it takes' and 'I don't know'.So I think, the charm of these 2 songs has already conquered U. Other wonderful songs are 'Cherche encore', 'Destin', 'J'irai ou tu iras', etc. The French lyrics are more poetic and softer, so they possess the privilege 2 give songs a natural magnificence.
The photos inside the case are special, 'cause in these photos Celine looks soooooo elegant, plus the photos are black&white, which gives a taste.

5-0 out of 5 stars Celine's Finest?
I think the first thing is that you have to love Celine's voice or an album in a foreign language is unlikely to do much for you.Having said that if you love the voice then this is an album you could listen to forever.

The most recognisable track is likely to be Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore which was released in the UK and also features in a lot of her live shows.Other highlights are Vole, J'attendais, Cherche Encore and Je Sais Pas.A couple of these tracks have been translated for the album Falling Into You but you hear them in there truest form on this cd.A must buy for any Celine fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Celine Dion Highlight
Celine Dion just knows what she's doing. It is a rare and special thing to see someone so talented also pursue her artistic vision with such clarityand emotion.Jean Jacques Goldman has given her absolute treasures to sing here, and like any great singer, Celine rises to the occasion and sings the snot out of these songs.

I'm also going to comment on the photographs of Celine in the CD liner. They're very nice, especially the pseudo Frida Kahlo shot on the inside cover. She's done enough with her hair and everything else....this is her true calling and her best image.French it up, girl!Your voice is the perfect cultural transmitter!

Celine sounds great in any language, but I must confess that when she sings in her native French, her vocals take on an added dimension that prove once and for all that she is a vocalist of the highest caliber.I do hope that she will one day be able to take one of her French songs onto the U.S. charts; Americans just have no clue what they're missing. ... Editorial Review

Dion has released a lot of music in the last four years, which in lesser talents could generate a "got the last one, don't need this" yawn from the public. Every conceivable base is covered here--"Tell Me" is the iconic pop adult smash, "Treat Her Like a Lady" has sewn up Contemporary Hits Radio, and there are a half-dozen others to keep the party going till 1999. The inclusion of the theme song to Titanic ("My Heart Will Go On") proves that nothing is likely to scuttle the unsinkable Ms. Dion.--Jeff Bateman ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Let's Talk About...
Hmmm. Celine Dion and lengthy list of collaborators from different genres of the music spectrum is what this album promises to listeners. What we get is something that has diverse and creative stamped across it and we get the bonus perc of hearing Mrs Dion tear it up and be the power diva she is.

"Reason" is great. carole King provides back up vocals for this song and her smokey vocals accent Dions nicely. (note: Dion sings backup on this song for Kings album, which came out shortly after this one)

"Immortality" The Bee Gee's offer their vocals, yet they do not stand so tall beside the power horse of singing loud. Still, when they sing together, it produces a nice, overall effect.

"Treat Her Like A Lady" features not only Diana King, the phenominal artist who sang "Shy Guy" for Bad Boys, but also Brownstone offering their rousing gospel tinged vocals to make this one of the meatier dance songs to hit the pop scene. Celine does great getting down...

"Why Oh Why" has Toni Brazton all over it and she does a wonderful job singing it in such a sultry mode.

"Tell Him" is a lovely duet with Striesand, but the song is a bit over rated. Pretty, but over rated.

"Where Is The Love" is my favorite song on this album. Cory Hart wrote it for her and it is the most poetic song on this disc. Also, Cory Hart opened her concert for her and he is alos a good singe. These two need to do a duet.

"Us" well, if anyone wondered how Celine Dion would sound doing country, this song offers a close indication. She sings this song so beautifully... and it has such a powerful message.

The rest of the songs on this album are great as well, just not as mentionable as these. She does a duet with Pavorotti and while their voices are great together, the song does them an injustice. The use of the childrens chorus on the title track adds a nice touch to an album that could very well be played with the children at home without worry of obcenity.

Overall, this is her best album to date. I love her newer albums, but not even "One Heart" can measure up to the callibre of this CD. This is the one that should have won the Grammy!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Her most artistic to date of her albums
I still this that Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love was her most artistic and stylistic album to date. She took more chances with stretching her voice on different songs.I still like the funky Treat Her Like a Lady, where Celine really tears it up on a faster song!It just got her off the ballad overkill a bit, the way Misled did on her '93 album. But I love songs like the P Diddy-beats-sounding Why oh Why, Immortality, the darker songs Miles To Go and Us, and To Love You More.Tell Him with Barbara Streisand--true diva event as if there was one! Both singers sound beautiful on here. I like her I Hate You then I Love You with Pavarotti. Her songs that Corey Hart produced are very good.So I'll save this part for last--her "My Heart Will Go On" is easily her best sung song of her career--the drama, emotion and range that she brings to it makes it one of the best '90s pop records. While some people don't like it, you have to admit that it is a beautiful power ballad in the greatest sense. In conclusion, a very artistic and well done pop album from Celine with all that incredible talent involved on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warning, do not use in your PC!
If you love Celine Dion, fine, by all means, this is an album you're going to want, but if you don't want adware and spyware installed on your PC, ONLY use this in your stereo. This CD will install AOL adware on your PC, and you may not be able to enjoy Celine's music unless you follow a series of clicks.Failing that, before you stick it into your computer, turn off the autorun function, holding down the shift key may not help you.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have French album
Out of my three Celine French albums, this is the best one I own. It's hard to pick a favorite song here, but ones that stand out for me are: On nes changes pas, L'abandon, Papillon, and the title track itself. Celine gives a range of her abilities on this album, from slow songs such as Papillon, to more upbeat songs like Dans un autre monde. The only song I really don't listen to on this album is number 11, where Celine sings blues. It doesn't matter though because 11 out of the 12 songs are absolutely wonderful. You do not have to know a word of French to appreciate this album.

5-0 out of 5 stars moonlit melodies
Those who think of Las Vegas neon when Celine Dion is mentioned, would be surprised to find that her work in French is more like candlelight...and a moonlit serenity in songs like the brilliant "Je crois toi" and the final exquisite "S'il suffisait d'aimer".This album is a terrific collaboration with Jean-Jacques Goldman, who wrote 10 of the 12 tracks, and the other two, "Terre" and "Papillon" (one of my favorites) were composed by arranger Erick Benzi, whose orchestrations are also lovely and complimentary to Celine's voice.

The power and range of Celine's voice is extraordinary, but it is not used in a flashy way here, only to enhance and accentuate the music; the musicianship from everyone involved in this recording is exceptional, giving us a thoroughly satisfying CD for all Celine fans, those of us who mostly prefer her in French, and those who might be converted upon listening to this wonderful CD.
There are some big, lavish songs like the fabulous, "Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi", but most have a delicacy to them, with Celine singing in a pure style with few flourishes.

Jean-Jacques Goldman, who has attained much popularity in France since the mid-'80s as a solo artist has a large body of work to his credit, alone and with other artists, and his work with Celine is stellar. The booklet insert has all the lyrics (only in French), the sound sparkles with clarity, and total playing time is 51'46.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cet musique et le mieux de Celine
Celine Dion has reached new heights with her voice, with her passion in the recordings of this CD.Her intonation is so dolce, yet so powerful, so believable, so true.I speak french as a second language, et listening to her lyrics brings the wonderful language to life. Each song is a unique journey through life, through love. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars good album!a heralder of what celine can do!
Unison is the debut album of one of the most powerful and successful divas in the world music industry. I rate Unison with 3 stars eventhough I'm a big BIG fan of Celine. In this album, the sound engineering and the choice of instruments and synthesizers are very reminiscent of the pop sound of songs from the 80's era. The very first single, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" is outstanding enough for the uninitiated Celine Dion would-be devotee. It shows her indomitable vocal power and her truly truly immense octave range. This is one song that whispers: "Hey Mariah (who also began her career in the same year 1990) and hey Whitney!!!!" "You may as well move over-I mean vocally!!!"Dion's intonation of vowels is just so wide and so big that she effortlessly rises inches above Mariah and Whitney. Her powerful delivery is the one to beat and it seems quite impossible since her dynamics were also hugely-incredible.

The sound of the song, the power of its message, Celine's grandiose delivery, the excellence of its arrangement(especially how the song moves from the 2nd stanza towards the first chorus) and the thundering drumbeats which makes us say: "gosh, were back in the 80's era again at this moment!!!" are the absolute highlights of "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", a track to be listened as good as the hundredth time as it was the first time. Hear for yourself. Period.
I must close my review for now and be back next time but please allow me to say that "The Last To Know" is also a great album highlight but still no match for "Where Does My Heart Beat Now"

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Voice!
In the album "Unison" Celine Dion shows the world her great amazing voice. In this album she gives us 10 well sang songs. In my point of view Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are the voice of the 90's and beyond.I recommend this album to anyone who is a Celine Dion fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars CELINE WILL LEAVE YOU IN UNISON
At just 20 years old Celine Dion released her American debut album titled Unison in 1990 that would make her one of America's most loved singers of all time. And now for a song by song tracklist,
1. If there was any other way,
This was the second single to be released from Unison and with a pop dance beat Celine's lyrics and neat voice made this song a worthwhile hit,
2. If love is out the question,
This song is a rock styled song in which we find that Celine is no Steve Perry and shows her rock style in this rock filled song,
3. Where does my heart beat now,
This was the first single from Unison that introduced many Americans to Celine Dion and this song has a power ballad sort of feel and a very awesome guitar solo. The video that accompanies this song features Celine singing this song in a concert and is really cool. This song was lucky enough to grant Celine a top 40 single on the charts in 1990,
4. The last to know,
Originally sung by the late Laura Branigan Celine takes this remake and makes it her very own. With it's Survivor-like sound and a very pretty flute solo this song was lucky to be the third single from this album. It's also written by Phil Galdston who has wriiten many hits for some of my other favorite singers including Brandy Kathie Lee Gifford and Vanessa Williams and should not be missed,
5. I'm loving every moment with you,
This ballad has a very soothing tempo and is about how love is very strong no matter how much your crush is there to help you along the way.If you have a loving relationship with your crush this song is for you,
6. Love by another name,
This song is one of Celine's most funnest songs to dance to on the album and the chorus features a Zapp and Roger sounding voice singing the chorus on the song. The song features Ruth Pointer on background vocals,
7. Unison,
The fourth and final single from the album seems like a ripoff of Eddie Murphy's hit Party All The Time but has a catchy sing along chorus and is where the title of my review is from,
8. I feel too much,
Could easily fit at home in the freestyle category,
9. If we could start over,
Like every Celine Dion album this is the power ballad of Unison and has a rock soft pop sound to it.I think this song sounds like Vanessa Williams Save the best for last but this song would have been lucky to be released as a single,
10. Have a heart,
The last song on the album is about a troubled relationship gone wrong and Celine tells her crush to have a heart or he will miss her,
If you got to have one Celine Dion album or you are just a Celine starter make Unison the album to have,
For Celine's French roots take a look at these rare French imports, Celine Dion- Incognito, Celine Dion- 1 Fille and 4 Types, Celine Dion- Le Collection-1982-1988 ... Read more

Editorial Review

"The Power of Love" was Celine Dion's first chart-topping song in America, but it was a career-defining moment in more ways than one. It established her as a dependable hitmaker and also fixed the pattern of her biggest successes to come--songs that begin with delicate melodies and spare instrumentation and build into big, powerful productions over which Dion's incomparable vocals hit stratospheric heights. Dion attempts other directions on The Colour of My Love, such as the light dance-pop of"Misled" and "Everybody's Talkin' My Baby Down," but they don't ring as true as her duet with Clive Griffin in "When I Fall in Love" (from the film Sleepless in Seattle) and the title track. --Daniel Durchholz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Colour Of My Love
Argueably her most diverse work to date,The Colour of My Love was Dion's worldwide breakthrough and put her at equal footing with every female musical superstar of the time.

The album that launched her worldwide success, colour of my love spawned a series of chart topping, record breaking singles. In the UK it was "Think Twice", the heartwrenching ballad of a broken romance. In the US, along with the rest of the world, it was "The Power of Love", a truly breathaking performance accompanied by powerful guitar chords and Dion's enchanting vocals.

An album that was a true triumph, her first album to acheive multiplatinum success, and selitified Dion's presence as a true international diva.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect album from Celine!
I totally lurve this album from Mrs.Dion! I have all of her english albums now except These are the special times, but I'm working on that one (hehe). In my opinion the best albums out of all of them are; The colour of my love, Let's Talk About Love, Falling Into You, Unison and A new day has come. Well heck, they all are her best albums ever made!! The song "The Colour Of my love" was played at Céline's wedding while she was walking down the aisle (I read this on a Céline fan website) and in this album she tells René that he's the colour of her love. They then got married in the year of 1994, after The Colour Of My Love was released! And I think some of the very best songs are: The Power Of Love, Misled, Think Twice, Everybody's Talkin' My Baby Down, Next Plane Out, I remember L.A., and The Colour Of My Love *Of course*! My Aunt Audrey even has this album and she lurves it too!! And I highly reccomend that you B-U-Y this album today if you don't already have it. It is all about love and is the best love album!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best way to review a CD!

The Power of Love: 5/5.
Misled: 5/5.
Think Twice: 4/5.

Celine Dion's second English-language album made her a star all over the world, not just in France and her native Quebec. The tag-team production work is sometimes heavy-handed, swathing Dion in background choruses and gauzy keyboard washes, but her voice soars above it all, showing off her incomparable range and power. The public certainly responded to Dion's talent, landing her four singles from the album--"If You Asked Me To," "Nothing Broken But My Heart," "Love Can Move Mountains," and "Beauty and the Beast" (a duet with Peabo Bryson and the theme to the hit animated movie)--in the Top 40. --Daniel Durchholz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars VERY ROMANTIC.
In my opinion this is her best album ever.I get chills everytime I listen to it.Several songs are written by DIANNE WARREN and one written by WALTER ALANASIEFF.If you are not aware of these two writers, they write great love songs.WALTER ALANASIEFF has co-written with MARIAH CAREY and others and DIANNE WARREN has written and produced so many hits for various artists.Celine also had the privilege to have a love song written by PRINCE called "With This Tear".There are also a few uptempo songs including the hit by DIANNE WARREN "Love Can Move Mountains".This is one of her classics albums.Buy it.You won't be sorry.

2-0 out of 5 stars DULL!BORING in SOME PLACES!
There are some good songs on this album, but the pace of the album is BORING and DULL!There are like five ballads back to back which make you fall to sleep.Beauty and the Beast, If You Asked me To and the funky Love Can Move Mountains (in its full five minutes here!) are all great, but the other songs have too much aftertaste.Only on the later efforts Falling Into You and Let's Talk About Love did she get better in assembling albums and getting them right. But this album has a blandness that just drags and doesn't keep you alert. You'd run off the road on a flat interstate highway in Kansas if you'd hear this on a CD car stereo.Just too dull!Sorry, Celine!

Editorial Review

Celine Dion is clearly a phenomenon. She tops the charts in France although she is not French, nor even European, but Canadienne. On this side of the Atlantic, she hosted a network TV special, solidifying her star appeal to North American audiences, and she received six separate music awards in Billboard magazine's 1998 annual competition. Dion, however, is the kind of vocal artist who arouses strong feelings, pro and con. A New York Times critic has deplored what he called her "weepy bombast," but such comments have not cooled the ardor of her devoted fans. Most of them evidently feel that a little moist mascara is expected from any chanteuse worth her salt. This CD, which contains some of her early recordings, avoids any suggestion of excessive douleur and showcases instead her most winsome qualities. --Ed Killham ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The real Celine Dion experience!!!!!
This CD showcases Celine Dion's vocal talent at it's best, and I often find that much of this gifted artist's work is better when recorded live rather than in the studios. I find that this CD along with her previous live release "Live Al Olympia" reveal Celine at her best, unlike other artists who's on-stage and live performances often prove to be more damaging to their credibility as singers. The album contains exceptional moments- my favorite, perhaps, is when Celine reveals a hidden talent...her astonishing ability to imitate the sounds of instruments as she introduces the members of her musical entourage. Also, the fresh quality and appeal of the often over-played 'Deaux' tracks, proves that when Celine performs her studio-recorded material live- she sings with such vitality and passion that it seems that we're hearing these songs for the first time. Adding the single "To Love You More" was indeed a 'bonus', but I find that it is out of place on this testament to Dion's abilities as a 'live' performer and I don't consider it to be one of the more shining moments on this album. However, the moments that do shine are what should perhaps be consideredCeline trademark tracks, classics such as "The Power of Love" and "Ziggy", which are, naturally, included. This is the album that made me realize that if I would be given only one opportunity to see an artist live, I would definitely choose Celine Dion, for she makes the concert experience a truly memorable and worthwhile one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Amazing One Celine!
This is an awesome work from Celine Dion. All her cd's are great but this is one of the best. Please try the video of this concert, it's awesome. All Celine Dion fans please support her and buy her new cd; which will be out the 23th and 24th of October all over the globe.Celine Rocks!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Live in Paris!

4-0 out of 5 stars Legendary Performance
An Epic concert experience at the legendary Stata De France before 200,000 people that spanned over 2 different nights. This performance block was over a 2 week, 4-night performance schedule on the UK portion of Dion's 98 tour. 2 back to back performances at Stata De France for 100,000 people per night, and 2 English performances at Wembley Stadium.78,000 patrons per show. Concert attendance was recordbreaking.

Although Celine has vocally sounded better on past live efforts, namely "Live in Paris" which was recorded at the legendary Zenith theater in France, in which her voice sounded incredible. This album lives up to the legendary billing that it has been given. A true feet in sound and choreography, the challenge of adapting a show that normally played for 25,000 people to 100,000 people was achieved and Dion and her band delivered.

On this album Celine glides through songs from her most recent French release. Celine's quiet and captivating performance of the weary "Je Crois Toi" and the powerful moving performances of "Terre" and "Dans Un Autre Monde" are exciting to the concert listener. Celine tackles 2 songs from her record breaking, 1995 best selling French album in history, Duex. "Pour Que Taimes Encore" is a crowd favorite and the tragic "Je Sais Pas" (I Don't Know), is especially touching due to the cancer scare Dion's husband was going through at the time.

Celine also samples a few English hits including the worldwide phenomenon "My Heart Will Go On and the title track from her most recent English release "Lets Talk About Love."

With Dion's touring days behind her it is unlikely that fans will ever see such an epic performance again in her career.

5-0 out of 5 stars J'aime Au Coeur Du Stade CD!!!
I love the LIVE Au Coeur Du Stade CD, it sounds so awesome with the audience cheering for Celine and Celine singing in French and singing 2 songs in English. Celine sounds so much better in French than English! But I love her singing in both languages, too! And even though I don't know all french, but some how I enjoy her French music more, and it's fun to listen to! I reccomend you all buy this CD today!!! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Au Coeur Du Stade, totally rocks!
I abselutly love this LIVE CD of Céline Dion. Her French music is much much more better than her English music!! I'm not the only one who likes her French music more, than English though. Even though I don't speak French, her French music touches me in away to love it anyways. :) I didn't actually buy the Au Coeur Du Stade CD, it was burned for me. I'm glad I got it burned! I totally love it:) I can't stop saying that I love it, cos I do. My favorite part on this CD is where she does the duet with Jean-Jacques Goldman...:) And then when she sings My Heart Will Go On and Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore!! Céline is the best singer, in the world. Nobody can compare to her! I highly recommend on buying Au Coeur Du Stade now... :)! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome livesinger
Most of the songs are in french and on the "Dion chante Plamondon" Album.
Les mots qui sonnent: This dance-tune is one of the best Celine Dion-songs ever
Where does my heart beat now: This was her first english hit-single. It's a typical Celine Dion-ballad.
L'amour existe encore: What a wonderful ballad. Check out the spanish version on her new album "A new day has come"
Je danse dans ma tete: A trashy pop-song. Not my favourite
Calling you: I don't know who has sung this song at first but I don't like it when Celine sings it. Sandra Pires' version is A LOT better
Elle: This wonderful ballad with meanigful lyrics is only avaiable on this CD
Medley Starmania: with "Quand on arrive en ville" (Great for dancing), "Le monde est stone" (nice ballad), "Les uns contre les autres" (It's so-so) and "Nazilansd ce soir on danse" (great dancesong).
Le blues du businessman: Dreamy ballad
Le fils se superman: Again a ballad
Love can move mountains: An up-tempo-song with choir. very athmospheric
Ziggy: This song is too slow. It's getting boring
The power of love: This wonderful ballad is characteristic for her. Another one of her best songs ever.
Quand on n'a que l'amour: Another romantic ballad

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This is one of Celine's best live performances. "Quand on n'a que l'Amour" will BLOW you AWAY!

5-0 out of 5 stars The last truly great "old school" Céline album en français...
From 1981-1985, Céline's earliest songs were written almost entirely by the late, great Eddy Marnay, songwriter to the likes of Edith Piaf, Nana Mouskouri, and Maurice Chevalier. Céline confided all of her dreams, her crushes, and her ambitions to Eddy, who created songs that captured the innocence and chaste crushes of childhood.

Around 1987, Céline underwent a drastic transformation from a gawkish teenager with long frizzy curls and pointed teeth to a confident, sexy young woman in preparation for her attempt to conquer the English-speaking market in Canada and south of the border (the United States). To reflect this change, Céline's manager and future husband René Angélil switched from Eddy Marnay to Québécois lyricist Luc Plamondon (easily recognized by his wild blond pompadour and extravagant sunglasses), the edgy creator of the mega-musical Starmania, La Légende de Jimmy and more recently, Notre Dame de Paris (Céline contributed a track, "Live for the One I Love," on the English cast album).

The lyrics and music on Incognito reflect this change, with Céline spunkily erasing the memory of her last boyfriend (Incognito), crooning her desire (Lolita--"Lolita isn't too young to love, not too young to give herself when desire consumes her body to her fingertips") (Jours de Fievre-"the world's more than a hundred degrees, I have heaven and hell, love and war inside of me...I burn and you'll burn with me"), and heartbreak (D'abord, c'est quoi l'amour-"You talk too much, you play with words. When you talk, I believe you...when you say "I love you," I understand it as "for life," but for you it's just for a night, and without knowing what love is, you spend your time talking about love").

The music is delightfully 1980's old school as well, with cheesy synth and drum machine overkill. Sultry sax solos heat things up on "Comme un coeur froid." Although dated, this is still my favourite "old" Céline album. The unique melodies are high-energy and rock-and-roll influenced (especially Incognito, Delivre-moi, and Jours de Fievre), a step up from the string-drenched puppy love ballads of Céline's earlier years. Slower ballads are still to be found in On Traverse un Mirroir, Partout Je Te Vois (rerecorded in English as "Have a Heart" on her first English album Unison (1990), and the strong closing track Comme Un Coeur Froid.

"Incognito" is, for me, is the pinnacle of Céline as a young woman---sexy, confident, and flirtatious, without belting out showstopping lovesick ballads. You can really hear how much her voice has matured from when she first began recording in 1981, or even from her previous album C'est Pour Toi (1985), with clear indicators of her future diva status. She is just experiencing her first taste of love and all the possibilities that await her. If you only buy one French-language Céline Dion CD, make it Incognito and hear what you've been missing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Her Best French Album!
There's no doubt that this record is one of Céline's best of all times! This is my favourite french album, Céline comes back with a renewed style and look. With powerful ballads and atonishing dance hits that topped Canada's charts back in 1987. If you want to try Céline Dion this is the right one... believe me! Her voice is at its best and she's filled with energy!
