5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect.
Our daughter LOVES this CD.....she is totally content and relaxed and falls asleep to this every night. Cory did a wonderful job putting together a collection of songs that truly soothes your baby without the cheesy songs.

You truly cannot find a better bedtime CD on the market for your baby (or yourself!).

    Thanks Cory!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Shhhh, sweet dreams ahead!
If you're looking for an album that will lull your child into sweet dreams - "Hush" is it! Cory's voice is blissfully sweet and angelic as she sings wonderfully composed songs for sleepy time. My 2 year old daughter requests this CD every night at bedtime. A must have for winding down those excited toddlers. Thank you Cory, I cannot wait to hear what's next!

5-0 out of 5 stars Really beautiful!
This is a lovely recording!!The songs are sweet, charming, and beautiful- not saccharin or overdone tunes either. And Cory's singing is really first-rate; she is doing some amazing singing on this recording -- the final track is particularly good!I also think it is to be enjoyed by parents and children alike -- it helped me "chill out" one afternoon when my 4-yr.-old was taking one of his rare naps!!It is sure to become a favorite when I have my next baby in October! Definitey worth it - A+++!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Forty Tiny Sinks
My children like this and all the rest of Ms Harper's works. Is clever just the province of adults? How about catchy? The songs are wonderful little stories that children get caught up in, and the melodies are very hummable. I like em too.

5-0 out of 5 stars I give this CD to all my new-parent friends.
I strongly disagree with the "music fan from Philadelphia."My eleven-month old daughter absolutely LOVES 40 Winks. We listen to it every night before bedtime and have done so since she was two months old.It always calms her down.As for connecting with the music, I can see and feel her respond to the soothing sounds. And I know she adores another one of Jessica Harper's CDs, Nora's Room, b/c my daughter kicks in delight whenever I put it on.It has entertained her through many car rides and kept her happy at home on countless afternoons.Although she is too young to understand the lyrics, she clearly enjoys the music.I highly, highly recommend both 40 Winks and Nora's Room to all parents.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for slowing downthe tempo of the day
Love it! Our children request it at the end of the day. It is terrific for soothing a parent's mood as well as a child's. I often find myself singing the songs while going about my day. Extremely creative music - the kind I love exposing my children to. Clever. Delightful. Catchy. Dreamy. Sentimental. Top-Notch. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A classic and wonderful CD
I was given the tape of the lullabyes when I was a little girl by my mom. And after I had my daughter last year, I was going through some old boxes and found it. It put her to sleep right away, just like it did me. So, when I found that they still made it and in a CD, I had to get it! I am so glad I get to share this with my daughter

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the BEST CD--my baby loves it!!
Ok I have no affiliation to the makers of this CD. I got it on the recommendation of a friend.

I popped this CD in the player, which was on my dresser, and my 11 month old crawled over to the dresser, stood up and held on to the ledge, and started rocking back and forth! She loves it and now she is 13 months. (We play it in the day during playtime, not at naptime)

This CD is good for several reasons.First, whomever is singing the songs (it's unclear from the packaging) has a rich, sweet voice (kind of like Karen Carpenter's)that doesn't get annoying after you hear the songs over and over (and you will). I have a couple of other CDs that get really annoying by the 3rd time you hear it, but not this one.The first time my husband heard it he said, "Who is singing these songs? Her voice is beautiful; she must be some famous singer."

Secondly, the songs are really catchy.

Third, the whole back part of the CD is the music of each song without the singer--so you can sing the song to your baby yourself. It's a great idea, and what I'm doing is taping myself singing the songs so I can play it in her room.

    I recommend this CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Second Generation
My mom bought thisas a cassette tape when I was kid and it was our favorite. I've got almost the entire albumn memorized and have been singing it's songs for years. I sang Appalacian Lullabye in music competitions in high school and sang it to the kids I babysat growing up. I even sang these songs to the children in the orphanage I volunteered in, in the Former Soviet Union. Now I'm 26 years old and the mother of a 7 month old and I've been singing and humming these melodies to him since before he was even born. This is a truly unique collection and is now lulling it's second generation to sleep. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

The appeal of this album isn't limited to children--though the gentle repertoire and soft acoustic musical accompaniment will surely soothe little ones at the end of a long day, adults will find the silky-smooth vocals, beautiful harmonies, and creative production just as engaging. Parents will enjoy listening to the metamorphosis of Loggins's 1969 Top 40 hit "House on Pooh Corner" to the updated '90s version. And with titles like the traditional "All the Pretty Little Ponies" and "To-Ra-Loo-Ra" and covers of Paul Williams's "Rainbow Connection," Jimmy Webb's "The Last Unicorn," and John Lennon's "Love," Mom might find herself borrowing this CD from the nursery when it comes time to kick back and relax after the kids are asleep. --Deborah Moore ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A pleasing find
I have not seen this noted yet, but the song "Horses" was written by Rickie Lee Jones and can be found on her "Flying Cowboys" CD and the Jerry Maguire soundtrack. This is a very nice CD. A great collection of songs written for or about children. They play it at my son's daycare all the time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
When I was in high school, a lllooonnnggg time ago, some one gave me a record with Return to Pooh Corner on it.I sang it to my sister when she was a baby and now I sing it to my son.But I'd forgotten who wrote the song - just knew all the lyrics and that it made me cry the first time I sang it to my newborn son.

One Saturday afternoon, I was holding my son and channel surfing and saw Kenny Loggins on Ice and stopped.Just as I started watching, he introduced Pooh Corner and started to sing his updated version.I sat there and cuddled my little boy and cried. And the next day bought the disc!I love all the songs and am learning them to sing, too.But I'll always love the Bear the best!

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful soundtrack for rocking your little one to sleep
I buy this CD for every new mother I know. When my son was born, we listened to this CD before bedtime. When the music started he would always sigh and you could feel his body relax. Often he would be asleep before the second song started. I then purchased it for my friend and her son also responded the same way. A few months later my friend and I were attending a baby shower and we had both purchased this CD for the new mom-to-be.
As a parent, I have found no better songs to cherish those sweet moments with your newborn. Often the lyrics have brought me to tears because they speak so well to the emotional bonds of parenthood and the love of your child. ... Read more

I loved this tape and have worn mine out. Please re-release this so I can have the CD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable for kids and adults; not sugary or annoying
I saw a review of this CD a couple years ago, borrowed it from the library, and then had to have it right away. Both of my little boys have fallen (and stayed) asleep to it. It's not sugary, annoying, or silly. Itis soothing, sweet, and fun. The artist's voice is terrific and very easyto listen to. I recommended it to all my friends with kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy listening songs your child can sing along with
Charming, amusing, soothing songs all four of my children love to sing along with. Great for those times when the kids need to "wind down". ... Read more
