Equipped for bare floors, carpet, and above-floor cleaning, the 12-amp Westinghouse Wired Deluxe vacuum covers a houseful of needs with an accessible straightforward design. The vacuum is built without bags or belts, so collected dirt stores in a roomy and washable dust bin complete with a foam filter. Fine particles are efficiently trapped by the machine’s long-lasting HEPA filter (though the company’s promise of seven years of use per filter does seem too good to be true). The 13-1/2-inch-wide nozzle is adjustable for four different heights of carpet, and the power switch gives you the option of turning off the brush roll to protect bare floors. An indicator light helpfully signals if the brush roll is rotating. For high-up spots and attachment cleaning, the vacuum’s handle converts to a cleaning wand with a stretch hose. This is a clever design, but not seamless--you have to wrestle with it a bit. Once extended, though, the hose is markedly long, adding a full 10 feet of reach. Far more hits than misses
At first, the sheer number of recipes in this cookbook will overwhelm you. Then, flipping to the index in the back you will find that you are able to look up dishes based upon their main ingredient (e.g. chicken, zucchini, potatoes).

We use this cookbook far more than any other book in the kitchen. Of all the dishes we have made, I can only recall not liking one.

It's naturally heavy on breakfast and brunch foods, but it has something to satisfy anyone's tastes - desserts, main courses, appetizers, beverages.

The biggest pain with this book is that it is separated by bed and breakfast rather than by kind of dish. This makes it rather time consuming to find a recipe. One has to turn to the index and then go down through the list flipping to various pages to find the "perfect" chicken dish, for example.

Separating the recipes out by type would have saved the recipe searcher a fair amount of time.

Still, it's a wonderful cookbook. I'm glad we have a copy. WARNING: This cookbook contains absolutely no photos of the food, so those who like seeing what the dish will look like will not enjoy this book.

Great Ideas for Food and Travel in One Great Book.....

With more than 1700 homestyle recipes you really get your money's worth.

You can go state to state(without leaving home) and try something new and different, or find some of your old favorites that you've been longing for.
There are two indexes to check through. You can check by city, or by food. For a good look at what's inside, the book, click on the 'Look Inside" link to several pages to browse through.The recipes range from meals as simple as Biscuits and Eggs to the more exotic tastes like Veal Scallops with Gorgonzola Sauce. You'll find several different ways of making the most everyday things, like French Toast, depending on what State or Regional taste you're in the mood for that day!

There's an additional perk to this cookbook as well. If you want to get out of your own kitchen and do a little traveling, you will find a little description as well as the addresses and phone numbers for all the Inn's used here, on the pages with their own recipes.In some cases there are nice little sketches of the lodgings as well.

I use this cookbook more than any other in my kitchen. although I haven't loved every single thing I've tried, it is stained and sticky with the remnants of some terrific recipes(some of my favorite pages are in worse shape than others!). Everytime I look through it for a new idea I find one. I love it! You will too.

I can't you how many times I've gone to my copy of this cookbook for recipes... it's the one I reach for first! It's like taking a trip around the country without leaving my home! VERY user friendly format, too!

SONY!.......SO NICE!
I love my little Sony Walkman (WMSR1)tape player and recorder. It's compact in size, but big on sound. It has numerous useful functions and looks great in black and silver as well.

I use it all the time. You can play tapes, record on blank tapes, or listen to AM/FM radio. The quality of play of music and audio books is outstanding. Every note, every word, clear as a bell(and in stereo) through the adjustable headphones it comes with. It's useful for recording important meetings, reminders to yourself, or your favorite radio programs. You can listen to it on speaker instead of the headphones as well, but doesn't sound as great. I don't get as good reception on the FM as the AM, but moving it around helps somewhat.

Other features included are a detachable belt clip,the microphone and a little stand(which may also be attached to your collar or pocket),"Mega Bass" which may be turned on only with use of the headphones and an Automatic Volume Limiter System(to protect your ears).

It's a great price for all the functions it performs. It's a good thing to have in emergency situations(as we here in earthquake country know well)and runs on 2 AA batteries.There are also easy to follow instuctions if needed, where you will also find a 90 day limited warranty and Sony's on line address for any questions.

Love it for Books on Tape
I have been listening to books on tape on this player for three years. It's light and portable for carrying around the house. It's nice not having to wear headphones. And it runs for a long, long time on only two AA batteries. I highly recommend it.

Best magazine for entertainment buffs.
If you are an entertainment buff, like myself, then you will really enjoy the ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY magazine. EW always has the latest information about music, movies, TV shows, and celebrities. It gives you tons of great, glossy photos. This magazine does not have too much gossip--they have some, but most of the information that they give is true. I also love going to their website--the website is very cool and informative, too.

I especially love EW's special issues, like when they do Oscar coverage or a complete issue on a certain highly anticipated movie. They've also got reviews from the latest CDs, movies, TV shows, and books. And this is a weekly magazine, so you get a new issue every week--not just every month. EW Magazine is a good size as well...it is not too thick and not too skinny. The magazine is made from top-qaulity paper, and just a plain great entertainment magazine. Whenever I'm looking for the latest Hollywood/music industry news and gossip--I always turn to the ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Magazine, because I know I can trust it!

So for all you entertainment buffs, I highly recommend this magazine. To me, it is well-worth the subscription price!

Entertainment Weakly
If you need to be told what to think by glib, middlebrow writers, then EW is for you. It's an indispensible magazine for those who panic at the thought of not being squarely at the center of conventional wisdom, and who prefer to regurgitate review blurbs rather than say what they themselves think. It's basically a clearinghouse for studio and network press releases, with reviewers who make painfully obvious attempts to second guess public mood so they can calibrate their opinions accordingly.

Earth Friendly and Works Too!
This review refers to the "Ready-To-Use Orange Plus Cleaner" by Earth Friendly Products......

Looking for something that is made from earth friendly and biodegradable products that actually works? Look no further..this is it.

I've tried several different products along these lines and this is the best I've come across. I've used it on everything that is washable in my home. It's marvelous on walls and doesn't leave those streak marks that some products do. It broke up old grease stuck on my stove and my tea kettle that had remnants of everything I cooked on it.It did a nice job on my tub and my shower doors, I let it sit in my kitchen sink for a while and it actually took out some coffee stains. Finger prints around door knobs are now gone! It also works beautifully on chrome fixtures.

It won't replace every single item you need to clean. For example it does not work on really hard stuff like rust stains or calcium build ups(what really does?),you will still need a window cleaner, and also there are times when a little elbow grease or a second try for heavily soiled areas is helpful as well. But after using you will really feel like you house is clean. It also leaves a wonderful scent.

It contains Water, Pressed Orange Oil and plant derived Surfactants..all biodegradable. I know when I use this that I don't have to worry about ruining my clothes! There is also a concentrate(just add water) that you can use for refill which makes it an economical bargain as well!

Rock-A-Bye Your Baby...
Too beautiful for words(but I'll give it my best shot), "Fairy Dreams - Magical Lullabies" is a soft, and soothing mix of traditonal folk lullabies, with a special added touch of warmth by Linda Ronstadt. It is music that will lull anybody into a beautiful state of relaxation, and would be a beautiful bonding experience for any parent and child. Just sit back in that rocker, hold your child in your lap and let this album work it's magical spell on you.

Opening with the instumental "Winter Light", Ronstadt's mesmerizing collaboration with esteemed composer Zbigniew Preisner("Three Colors Trilogy/The Decalogue"),you are already transfixed.New and wonderfullly sweet renditions of "Hush Little Baby","Moon and Me","All The World Is Sleeping","Dream a Beautiful Dream" and "Sleep Baby Sleep" are just a few of the songs that will stay with you for sometime afterwards.(See buying info for a complete list of songs, where you may also listen to some samples).You may even stay up and listen again long after the little ones are fast asleep.

The CD(Big Blue Dog Records) is an excellent quality and delivers beautiful sound(and not a bad price either).There are 12 tracks in all ranging in time from 1:19 to 4:23, most being over 3 minutes.

CDs, DVDs, CD-ROM, PlayStation...so it makes sense that we want to keep all these discs working at top performance.The "Maxell CD Cleaning Cloths" are a safe(lint-free and non-abrasive), easy and econimcal way to keep them dirt and smudge free,insuring a better quality playback.One gentle wipe of your disc may help to eliminate mistracks or sound distortion.

The price is right for such a little item that does such a big job. I consider them essential. When offered by Amazon(I see they are only available from outside sellers at this time), they're a great buy as you can throw them in your cart whenever you need just that little extra to put you into the free shipping range.

And... Don't forget about the CD and DVD players themselves...cleaning the lenses occassionally also helps to improve perfomance. I use and recommend the Memorex CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner. It does a good job, is reusable,performs optimazation tests(that checks your system), and is a very reasonable price as well.

And don't forget... always clean your CDs in an outward motion starting from the center(never circular).

The price here, for the quanity is the best I have found. I was paying much more by buying them at my local video store.Although, Amazon's price at this time is just a little higher than some of the merchants here,but when you consider there is free shipping from Amazon, it works out pretty good.

Very nice wash
I love liquid washes and with my sensitive skin, it's all I can use. I was tired of spending so much money on Mary Kay's body wash so I tried this one. It works very well and doesn't dry my skin too much. I can't use it in the winter though but it's great during the summer months. I love the smell - it's just so very refreshing! Plus, I'm not spending $10 a bottle! It's a super wash at a great price, you just cannot beat that!

A Little Dab'll Do Ya....Great Product ....Nice Price
I really like the idea of liquid soap. The plastic bottle doesn't leave a soapy mess in the tub or around the sink like bar soaps, and no germs left behind either.

We used to have several bars of soap in the tub. Everyone liked to have their own soap and each had a different benefit. "Suave -Aroma Benefits Moisturizing Body Wash, Energizing Citrus and Ginseng" is perfect for the whole family.It's gentle, has a wonderful light fragrance, leaves you with a clean and refreshed feeling and I would recommend it highly to anyone with very dry skin. It is the best moisturizing soap I have found.I am using much less moisturizing cream throughout the day then I was before I found this product.

You don't need to use alot either, so it lasts quite a while. A little dab on a washcloth, bath sponge, or pouf works into a good lather that will not only leave you clean but is nice to shave with as well. It rinses off nicely too.

Suave as always, has come up with a product that is just as good(and maybe even better) than the more expensive names.Use it after a hard day's work or to begin one.

Does it really energize too?...well, don't switch to de-caf yet, I can't attest to that part, but the scent IS exhilarating!

Not tonight honey..I have a HEADACHE!
I am a Migraine sufferer! I not only get the painful headaches but I'm one of the lucky ones (20%) that gets the other wordly auras that go with it. The first time this happened I thought I was either having a stroke,going blind, or having a close encounter of Some kind. When I saw the cover of this book "Winning the fight of your life".."Fight off today's headache pain and PREVENT tommorrow's attack" I thought OKAY this is for me!.
Well although there is some useful information in this book, it really didn't help me too much.There was alot of charts and graphs concerning the history of migraine and the symptoms. I did learn the name of my particular one (Classic), It goes on to list many many remedies,drugs, herbs,methods of relaxation,acupuncture,(I draw the line at the one about standing on your head). What to do, what not to do, what to eat, what not to eat (in some cases these were the same things, very confusing),don't sleep too much, don't sleep too little, etc etc.
It would take me years of migraines to try all these different remedies and I would go broke doing it.
There was some useful information though, for instance, crushing medicine and taking it with a sweet warm drink will speed up the effect of the medicine. There was also a study in which 98% of the people with migraines got relief from spinal massages.This was all good advice(if I could just make sure there's someone around to give me the massage when I get the headache). There were other useful tips too, I would not completley write this book off.
This book is geared more toward a medical student learning to properly diagnose the type of headache. It would also helpful to have a medical dictionary at hand.
If you are interested in learning the FACTS about migraines in general this will be an interesting guide, but don't think of it as a cure.

Word for Word....
This review refers to the "Student Thesaurus" by Elizabeth Ryan(Troll Pub).....

Give your child the gift of words. A great beginning to discovering how reference books can be used as a tool for those school reports is important. This book will easily help the young student choose the right words that they are searching for. It will help to improve the quality of their work and their vocabulary as well.

This one is designed for use by students beginning around age 9 and can probably be helpful through the Junior High level.It begins with a great introduction on how and why to use a Thesaurus. There are 2000 words(listed alphabetically of course) with easily interchangeable synonyms that are geared for this age group. They will also find the antonyms to many of the words which are distinguisable in RED print. Some great cartoon illustrations by Rick O'Boyle are also found throughout to help convey the meaning of some words.Under "help" for example you will find.. assist, aid, support,cooperate... the antonym "hinder" and a great little drawing of a girl resuing a cat from a tree.

A Man and His Music
This review refers to "The Art of Drowning" by Mike Barnet(CD)...

Mike Barnet is a popular local artist who seems to be building quite a following...and rightly so! Transcending the generations, Mike has the traditional sound of legendary folk singers like Woody Guthrie, with a contemporary feel. He has something to say, and does it well. I found myself actually listening to every word of the ten tracks(see buying info for list), as he sings passionately about life, love, and social issues.

Mike has a unique style compared to most of what is out there today. His words and music seem to combine a youthful vitality with the poetic soul of an ancient. He puts a lot of feeling into his work, sometimes injecting a welcome bit of humor, and leaves you with something to think about. It is also one of the few albums I can play that is enjoyed by the"older" and "younger" generations in the house.

Five stars to Mike Barnet and "The Art of Drowning", not in comparason to the legendary greats, but for the art of putting meaning back into music.If you are from Southern Calif, catch one of his live performances while you can, I have a feeling it won't be long before this talented young artist will be moving on!
