    Editorial Review

These Georgia rockers rode a tidal wave of fame after their superb Offerings release in 2000 netted a ton of Dove Awards as well as Grammy nominations. The ensuing whirlwind found them clinging tighter than ever to the foundation of their faith as well as to their music. The aptly titled Come Together melds the group's immense talent into a compelling must-have release. Mac Powell's growling vocals have always been a signature for the band and that hasn't changed. But thanks to producer Monroe Jones, Come Together also illuminates the fine guitar work of Brad Avery and Mark Lee, all the while supported by the skin-tight rhythm of bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr. The driving rocker "Get On" is balanced by the gorgeous balladry of "It's Alright." In between the two, Third Day beautifully rock our world, and for that we should be grateful. --Michael Lyttle ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Where good music & lyrics Come Together
Come Together is a great album that combines great music and great lyrics. My personal favorites are Come Together and 40 days. Those are the first two tracks on the disc but don't think that it goes downhill from there. The disc is full of southern rock treats and a ballad or two.Overall this disc doesn't disappoint.Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars This Is Christian Music That Degrades Us
This is stuff I would hear all the time when I would go to a youth group gathering. Uggh...so degrading. I have nothing against God, whatsoever, but this music is horrible and leaves a bitter taste to the mouth.

Listen to Zao, Training For Utopia, Living Sacrifice, Norma Jean, UnderOath, Dead Poetic, Further Seems Forever, Project 86, Blindside, Emery, Chevelle (yes, they're Christian), Extol, Figure Four or even P.O.D. I have more that I can't think of right now. These guys are Christian, but they don't sing about Jesus all the time.

Third Day, Newsboys, dc Talk and the rest of them considered "gospel" aren't worth listening.

5-0 out of 5 stars This CD is a must have!

    Editorial Review

In the afterglow of capturing a Dove award for "Rock album of the year" with their southern-rock grinder Time, Third Day has now stepped in line with the worship movement and released Offerings: A Worship Album. Interspersed among five new songs, this album contains several live concert tracks, including the favorite "Your Love, Oh Lord."Even though the new songs demonstrate Third Day's superior creativity and talent, the live tracks are the forte of this project. The undulating dynamics exhibit the band's unity as they work together to create a singular response to the Savior. As well, some of the tracks incorporate the sound of the worshiping audience, adding a congregational feel to the album. The lyrical content is similar to that of songs from a typical Sunday morning service. But these traditional expressions of faith are given new life by the resonating fervor of Mac Powell's lead vocal style. Third Day is known for being uncompromisingly God-centered with their music. This project uncovers that quality to its most extreme degree. --Israel Button ... Read more

Offerings is one of the greatest albums that I have ever heard. It is energetic and powerful. It has great music and superb vocals. On top of that, Mac Powell's voice is amazing.

This collection starts off with 'King of Glory' which is an awesome worship song.

It is followed by 'These Thousand Hills' which is my personal favorite. It is a recognition of the self evident nature of the Creator's handiwork.

'Your Love Oh Lord' is a simple praise song that was inspired by Psalm 26.It is excellent.

Next comes a version of Michael W. Smith's 'Agnus Dei' - Beautiful.

'Saved' is Third Day's rendition of the Bob Dylan classic. It is a song with great lyrics and a fun sound.

Another one inspired by the Psalms is next with 'My Hope Is You'.The title says it all.

'You're Everywhere' is another great song with some amazing harmony.

A song that really speaks of the Lord's mercy is next in 'Thief', which is about one of the criminals that was crucified next to Jesus.

'Consuming Fire' is really a prayer set to music.

The group sings a Third Day original hymn in 'All the Heavens'.It is very different from the other songs on this album, but very nice.

'Love Song' describes what the Savior has done for all of us.It is an amazing conclusion to an incredible album.

There is also one hidden track if one listens long enough after 'Love Song' ends.

This album is just fantastic. If you don't have it, you are missing something very special.

5-0 out of 5 stars wow
What can I say?Third day is my favorite. The songs in this Cdare awsome. They usher you straight into the presence of God. I never get tired of hearing the songs over and over again and they still have the same affect on me.If you want to draw closer to God especially during your quiet time, put this Cd on, WOW.Such an annointing!I thank God for THIRD DAY.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Different sounding Worship Album
At the time this album was released there were tons of artists putting out the same sort of thing - praise and worship albums. As with any trend, certain offerings (no pun intended) rise to the top as the cream of the crop.Third Day's Offerings: A Worship Album is definitely one that rises to the top.I have found myself getting into the music and praising God on the highway on the way to work, in front of the computer, on the way to the grocery store and many other places.Isn't that what we're calling to do?We're called to pray without ceasing - singing praises to God is a way of prayer in mind as it's thanking Him for saving us.Listening to this cd will get your foot tapping and raise your spirits. It's worth every penny. ... Editorial Review

It's hard to escape your roots, especially when you've grown up in the South. For Third Day, it's never been truer than on Time, the band's third release and the first to openly embrace their Southern rock traditions. While producer Monroe Jones coaxes a somewhat softer-sounding Third Day in this pleasing effort, the band still rocks hard for the most part. "Took My Place," for instance, is a Southern-fried rave-up powered by the twin guitars of Mark Lee and Brad Avery paced by the gritty vocals of Mac Powell. Yet Third Day also lessens the blows, as with the poignant ballads "I've Always Loved You" and "Your Love, Oh Lord." Fans will get the best of both worlds in the loose, rootsy "Don't Say Goodbye," one of the album's best moments. Time captures a band maturing and owning up to both its spiritual and musical legacy. --Michael Lyttle ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Christian Rock at its best!
This CD is a bit older from Third day but is probable one of the best Christian CD's out there. I would love to see them get back into God's Word and sing about it. I know that there recent CD, The Wire, is trying to draw in the unchurched but for us worshippers it is always good to stay strong in are faith. This is a must have, for anyone who loves a little rock and loves Jesus Christ. What a great testament.

5-0 out of 5 stars Back to their southern rock roots
Third Day returns to their southern rock roots after their second album had more a mainstream rock style. The most popular songs from this cd are "I've always loved you", "Your Love Oh Lord", and "Sky Falls Down".I read the review when this cd came out and was very nervous to buy it as the critics loved it.As I'm sure most everyone already knows the critics are wrong a majority of the time. This is the exception to the rule, however! You can feel comfortable buying this album knowing that you won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars If there was only this one song, it would be worth the price
The song "I've Always Loved You" is probably the best song I have ever heard. It gets across the most important message from God "I've always loved you and I always will". No other being but God can say this to you and mean it. I was working one day and just that one part of the song played over and over in my head until I broke down and cried for about a half hour (And I am a mechanic who works in a deisel shop). Listen to the song and imagine the words coming to you from Jesus as he sacrificed himself on the cross for you. It will break your heart. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing debut that says Third Day is here to stay
I first picked this up on a suggestion from a friend when it was first released. It was my first real experience with southern rock and I liked what I heard enough to put it on while cleaning and doing other things in the extremely small apartment I had at the time.I wasn't really into Christian music at that time so I didn't pay much attention to it until I stopped and listened closely to "Thief".The music itself is what got me to stop what I was doing.Once I listened to the words I was changed.I started listening to the rest of the lyrics and was equally impressed. This cd is a classic.By it without hesitation.

5-0 out of 5 stars A true Christian music classic.
Third Day's self-titled debut remains one of Christian rock's truly classic recordings. From Mac Powell's soulful vocals to the guitar duo of Brad Avery & Mark Lee, to the rhythm section of Tai Anderson (bass) & David Carr (drums), Third Day consistently hits on all cylinders throughout this album. My overall favorite song is "Thief," about the repentant thief crucifed next to Jesus. Other noteworthy songs include "Love Song," "Consuming Fire," "Blackbird," "Nothing at All," "Take My Life" & "Praise Song." Of all of today's Christian rock bands, Third Day is my overall favorite (as well as one my all-time favorites). In addition to being great musicians and songwriters, they also have a tremendous heart for ministry. God has blessed them richly for their hard work, and their music constantly reminds me of how truly blessed I am in my daily life.

5-0 out of 5 stars This album is good. Very good.
I bought this CD after having already purchased Come Together and Time. I realized that their music reminded me a lot of the good ol' Southern rock I'd loved as a kid (Bob Seger, Lynard Skynard) but had an unmistakeable message about the faith that I try to live by. When I listened to the song "Thief," I was absolutely mesmerized. And Consuming Fire was like a balm, albeit a rockin' balm, after having felt so torn up by Thief.

As for the reviewer who did *not* like Third Day and wonders what's "with" people liking them -- since TD's voices are so grainy -- all I've got to say is, if you don't like "grainy" then go listen to Steven Curtis Chapman or Fernando Ortega (I love both of them, too, BTW. They're amazing.). Third Day has a sound that is full, lively, and fun. But even more than that, their lyrics are thought provoking, solid, and absolutely without reproach.

Lovin' this band! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Confident after four No. 1 singles and a 1998 Dove Award for Modern/Alternative Album of the Year, Caedmon's Call are back with more coffeehouse rock and brilliant songwriting on 40 Acres. This seven-piece ensemble has made a name for itself, not only with chart success, but with its hook-laden acoustic pop and extensive college-circuit touring. The tightness shows with their smooth rhythms, layered guitars, and evocative vocals. The first single, "There You Go," is pleasant enough, but dig deeper with such thoughtful gems as "Faith My Eyes," "Somewhere North," and the moving "Table for Two." "Daring Daylight Escape" kicks up a country-rock storm from the Pure Prairie League/Poco vein. Songwriters Aaron Tate and Derek Webb are two of the brightest hopes in contemporary Christian music's future. --Michael Lyttle ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid
This was my first introduction to Caedmon's Call. Wow, what an experience. Such a wonderful blend of style and unique sounds. After that I began snatching up all their other CD's and going to a couple of their concerts. I absolutely love their style, and their powerful lyrics.

5-0 out of 5 stars A SOLID RELEASE!
Caedmon's Call are one of the most successful overtly Christian pop groups, and this is their strongest album. It captures the energy of their live shows, it is produced wonderfully, and several vocalists get a chance to shine. On the album, the band walks a fine line between coffee-house mellow acoustics and college-radio type rock. Many of their lyrics, although very religious, are ambiguous enough that Caedmon's appeals to a secular (non-Christian)listener as well. The album's most impressive aspect is not the vocals or the lyrics (although they are all very strong). It's the instrumentation. The people in Caedmon's Call can write some really catchy stuff, to put it plainly. Their guitar riffs are at times funky, but can switch quickly to soothing and praise-like. (I've heard their guitar compared to that of Dave Matthews). And the drums and backing electric organ make them sound like The Wallflowers at times. Basically, this is a strong album from a very strong band. It's definitely worth the price -- you'll be singing the tunes all day!

5-0 out of 5 stars A musical masterpiece
I bought this CD after having heard 'Back Home' and 'In the Company of Angels' and am pleased to say that this has been my favorite CD by CC.It maybe the best display of Derek Webb's talent. His warm and passionate voice and guitar work is ever-present.The blend of different musical styles is so flowing that they do not clash, but rather harmonize very well.Their style is that of a folk/rock and is very enjoyable.Buy this CD, you won't be dissapointed. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Caedmon's Call at some of their best!
Listening to Caedmon's Call is like taking a musical expedition. This is a very well-balanced album with thoughtful lyrics and excellent music. There's not one bad, or "filler" song on here; although I can't help but skip over 'Stupid Kid', the rest is top-notch.If you've never heard this group, this cd is a must.

4-0 out of 5 stars "though I questioned the sky"
One thing you can say about Caedmon's Call: they have never made a weak album. While I must admit I have not yet heard the latest CD, "Back Home," the four I have heard are outstanding. This self-titled album is an earlier one, but already it is marked by mature writing, a distinctive sound-world and excellent artistry.

There is not really a weak song on this disc. All the original material is great; the cover of Rich Mullins's "Hope to Carry On" is excellent. The lyrics on this album blow me away--some examples:

"Though I questioned the sky, now I see why--
Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain-view...
Looking back I see the lead of love." (Lead of Love)

    "And the least of these
    Look like criminals to me,
So I leave Christ on the street" (This World)

"Everyday when I get up, I see folks trading in their crowns
    For all these paper-plastic lives...
Opiate for the masses' hounds..." (Standing up for Nothing)

    "What crimes have you committed...?
    Demanding such penance...
Couldn't wait for five more minutes...
And a cry for help?" (Center Aisle)

"You stripped the trees of Lebanon--
    Now you're stripping me--
Of the bark of false morality
And the bite of selfish greed" (Coming Home)

There is a depth: musically, lyrically, and in Christian maturity, to this album that you would not naturally expect early on in a group's career. It has borne itself out over time in the work of this band. I recommend this disc and the rest of Caedmon's Call's music wholeheartedly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Caedmon's Call at their best
From the opening chords of Lead of Love to the upbeat closing song Coming Home this album captures the attention and interest of the listener. The album starts w/ Lead of Love, an upbeat classic in which the writer (Aaron Tate) looks back on his life and see's what he didn't before- God's work on his life. The album then continues w/ the soft, but wonderful songs Close of Autumn and This World. CC inserts the explosive Not The Land w/ its hard-edged vocals between the latter two, keeping the album from slowing down too much. We then hit the creative heart of the album (5-end). The album continues w/ cleaver, fun songs like Bus Driver and Stupid Kid. The former, a look at the value of people, no matter how menial they may seem. CC self-titled shows a wide ranged show of emotion as shown in the powerful and reflective songs Standing Up For Nothing and I Just Don't Want Coffee. Not forgetting perhaps the most heart-jerking of all CC songs: Center Aisle. A song about the suicide of his best friend's sister. In all of this though the album keeps the upbeat, hopeful feel w/ Not Enough, Coming Home, and the cover of Rich Mullin's classic: Hope To Carry On. Caedmon's Call's self-titled is a well-written masterpiece showing the creative genius of one of today's best artist. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars Ain't It Good?--YES!
Salvador is the best Latin salsa funk gospel group. I'm partial to Latin music but this is so AWESOME! The lyrics are so well put together and the rythums will move your spirit that you'll be dancing. I've heard 'Lord I Come Before You' on the local radio station. It's that good even the rock DJs play it. It's getting popular for putting out such a great sound. This 4 family members of musicians are really talented group. There's not many Latin gospel group like this to grab your attention to the beat. I also love 'Crucified,' 'Ain't It Good,' 'Cry Holy,' 'Now It Moves' and 'With God.' There's isn't really a bad song on this album. All I can say is try it out for yourself you won't be disappointed. I hope to try their second album, 'Into Motion.' I can't wait!

5-0 out of 5 stars What a tight band!
I am impressed! A very tight band with solid vocals. The songs are excellent. The wife and I are musicians and love it. My five year old daughter wants to dance to most of it. It also has an energy and passion that seems to be produced or processed out of most Contemporary Christian Music. Their second album IN MOTION is equally impressive, but a bit more eclectic.

Their studio stuff is great, but I hear their live performances are even better. Please do a live album!

4-0 out of 5 stars A contagious album
The first time I heard "Lord I Come Before You", I thought, "hmm, not bad" but once I heard the rest of the songs, I was hooked. I worked at a Christian music station and once I started playing Salvador I started getting more and more requests for it."David Danced" is great, anew twist on a song we all sang in Sunday School or VBS!My friend who teaches aroebics uses some of these songs for her classes, and there are also some thoughtful, beautiful songs as well. Also, some is in spanish - a great gift for the multi-lingual! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!
What a pleasant surprise this CD was. I actually loved their first CD and I thought it could not get better than that! Well this CD is like a complement to the first. The lyrics are very good and the music excellent. Less latin influence than in their first CD, but still full of rhythm. I know people have very different tastes in music but I do not think you will regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome God-praising music!
Oh man, you have absolutely got to get this CD. I got it just for the track "Can't Keep It In" and was astounded by how awesome all the other songs are. In my opinion, it's much better than Salvador's first album. The lyrics are more in-depth this time around, and they really make you think. Some tunes that stand out to me are "City on a Hill," "Can't Keep It In," "Mighty King of Love," and "Worthy". And then there's the incredible worship song "Psalm 3," which just makes me lift my hands every time I hear it. "Alegria" has a great upbeat groove that makes you want to jump up and down for God, even if you don't know what they're saying. This is an amazing band with a passion for Christ that shows in their music, and it's one to keep your eye on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sophomore Effort is Worth the Wait
If you liked the first release from this Christian/Latin/Pop band, then you won't be disappointed with their new release, Into Motion. Although not quite as Latin in feel as the last album, there's still plenty of the percussion and latin elements that kept everyone's toes tapping. Into Motion actually goes further lyrically with more substantial content. Where the first album was more of a straight forward worship album set to some amazing music, this album leans more toward traditional pop crafted songs with verse/chorus structure. Don't misunderstand, these are not fluffy radio tunes. Salvador is made up of some of the most talented and gifted musicians and songwriters around, regardless of genre. One standout cut to me is "Can't Keep It In" While not the meatiest track lyrically, it is still far superior to most anything on hit radio today. This song should be a hit. The influences are still strong: Santana, EW&F, Chicago, which is fabulous considering most of the members are under 30. If you are into real music, played by real musicians with a real message, check out Salvador. Christians will be blessed. Non-Christians will be impressed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous R&B/Soul Christian Group!
Out of Eden's No Turning Back is the third Christian R&B album release from Gotee Records. The vocals are made up of three talented sisters-Lisa Kimmey Bragg, Andrea Kimmey Baca and Danielle Kimmey. Most of the songs are written by Lisa Kimmey unless otherwise noted. The album focuses on finding the perfect love, the presence of God's joy, God's call to the lonely and troubled, overcoming life's battles and the nearness of His Touch is as close as your heart.

Lookin' for Love-is a song about finding love in the wrong places where you need to look to the one who made you loves you.
River-tells one that God is always near and He cares for you.
Spirits Moves-God is calling you. Let Him take control. He's got the answer for your life.
Here's My Heart-a love song to God. He can mend your broken heart.
Window-God makes a window to let the light come through. When you feel you're going under when darkness falls. He will make a way.
If You Really Knew-tells one don't do it on your own. God's Love is enough. He's waiting for you.
Tomorrow-it's going to get better. Never give up. Joy comes after the rain.
Open Up Your Heart-The Lord's love is real. He came to set you free. you need the Savior's Touch.
Draw You Near-When you're lost in a world of trouble, heartache and loneliness. He wants to hold you in His arms.
No Turning Back-(title track) God will see you through to overcome the battles. He will show you the way to go.
Sarah Jane-Troubled teens need God's Love, too. The children needs an answer in you. Get out of your world into the situation. Show them the Lord will be the Father they need.

This is a really great album. The rhythms are really up with it. The lyrics really touch the soul and the heart. I recommend this to any Contemporary R&B Christian listener or anyone looking for real music with a true message in a secular world.

5-0 out of 5 stars UPLIFTING
THIS CD IS WONDERFUL.I PLAY IT WHEN IM HAPPY AND WHEN IM DOWN. EITHER WAY IT IS ALWAYS UPLIFTING! I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL AGES.YOU WILL FEEL BLESSED.

5-0 out of 5 stars "HERE'S MY HEART", "IF YOU REALLY KNEW", "SARAH JANE"
On Out Of Eden's first album (1994's 'Lovin The Day'), the ladies sounded like they were having a blast spreading their good message. OOE's second project (1996's 'More Than You Know') was a decidedly more intense affair; while it didn't hold itself together as well as the first album did, standout tracks like "Get To Heaven" and "It's Me" more than made up for it. Then in 1999, OOE returned with 'No Turning Back', and the confidence displayed here is unmistakable.

"Looking For Love" starts things right, with an upbeat sound and a poigniant message (as always). Featuring a guest rap by Gotee labelmate Knowdaverbs, the sound of "Looking For Love" was slightly ahead of its time, resembling singles that both *NSync and Imx would cut months later. Keeping the upbeat feel of the album going, we're taken into "River", a happy-sounding song. An early highlight of the album would have to be "Spirit Moves", which also has a remix on DJ Maj's 'Full Plates Mixtape 002' album released in 2001 - this song is slammin.

"Here's My Heart" is one of the best OOE ballads of all time. Featuring pop/R&B group the Katinas (also on Gotee Records), this song sounds heavenly (pun intended), and the vocals are top notch. "Window" is a decent uptempo, but "If You Really Knew" is the real winner -- it reminds me of the vibe that was heard on 1994's 'Lovin The Day', just updated. The message, music, harmony, and lyrics of "If You Really Knew" blend together really well to create a song that epitomizes the amazing spirit that OOE represents. "If You Really Knew" is my favorite song on this album.

"Tomorrow" is another steady uptempo cut, but "Open Up Your Heart" is OOE at their best. Featuring a beautiful spanish guitar, sparse percussion, and a stunning vocal performance by Lisa Kimmey (who both wrote and produced the song by herself!), "Open Up Your Heart" is a powerful testimony to the musical gift that has been bestowed upon OOE. The mellow sounds continue on "Draw You Near", and then we hear "No Turning Back" an uptempo cut that sounds as confident as its name.

Some albums include those songs that seem to come out of left field; and on "No Turning Back', OOE delivers one of those in the form of "Sara Jane". Featuring a twinge of UK-influenced jungle beats, "Sara Jane" is about the horrible plight faced by young people without guidance, insisting that "we", the listener can "make a difference". I haven't heard social concern on a record like this since Janet Jackson's 'Rhythm Nation 1814'. Closing the album on a disturbingly open-ended note, "Sara Jane" seems to say "you've heard the problem, now it's up to you to do something about it..."

    Editorial Review

There are worse things in life than making your acting debut on the much ballyhooed season finale of Ally McBeal, though teen operatic baritone Josh Groban doesn't seem destined to encounter them anytime soon. As the awkward high school student-client who asks the typically romance-jinxed Ally to his senior prom, Groban performed this debut album's "You're Still You" (adapted from film-composing legend Ennio Morricone's Academy Award-nominated score for Malèna, with lyrics by Linda Thompson) as a heart-tugging, literal showstopper. The young phenom was just 17 when veteran producer-writer David Foster tapped him to fill in for Andrea Bocelli at rehearsals for the 1999 Grammys, where Groban found himself suddenly dueting with Celine Dion.

Indeed, such were his fortunes that the young Foster protégé was forced to drop out of Carnegie Mellon when professional commitments--including this record--interfered. And if this collection tends to hew sometimes uncomfortably close to Foster's own MOR sonic instincts, the material offers enough challenges to display Groban's talent and the potential of his warm, mature voice: a lyrical take on another Morricone classic, "Cinema Paradiso"; melancholy readings of Don McLean's "Starry, Starry Night" and Albert Hammond's "Alejate"; masterfully dramatic takes of the Neapolitan "Alla Luca Del Sole" and "Canto Alla Vita," the latter featuring the Corrs. Many of Groban's performances here, including a neo prog-rock-opera take on Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (with Lili Haydn), seem both bigger and bolder than their precious musical frameworks, a telling hint that Grand Opera can't be far from his grasp. As said earlier, there are worse things in life. --Jerry McCulley ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, ASTOUNDING, BEYOND WORDS...
Thank God for you Ally McBeal...I just about fell on the floor in tears flabbergasted when I saw the season 4 finale of Ally McBeal that showed this very boyish, awkward, KID get up there and sing with a voice that could totally enthrall, emotionally carry you away.To say that he has a beautiful, powerful voice just doesn't do him justice.

The CD is filled with very different style songs, in different languages, but personal tastes aside, it is all very top notch, and as one reviewer said, when others sing with him she is is pale in comparison. Probably only Streisand or Dion could sound good with him. He is that well tuned, his voice so well controlled.

As an aside, he also sings the ending theme of the movie "Troy" (on a different CD) and while I did not particularly think the movie was "epic-ally magnificent" I was glued to the seat in the theatre to listen to the entire ending theme, entranced, hypnotized (this was before Ally, so I didn't know who was singing).Regardless of the song he sings, his voice completely captures.

Personally, I am not a religious person, but like with the music of Mozart, it's like hearing the voice of something higher than us, when Josh Groban sings. He is already so great at such a young age, I await the wonders he will bring as he grows older!

This CD is magnificent, you have to see for yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars At last, Real Talent is Back!!!
Having attended one of his live concerts, after 25 performances on a US tour, gives me the confidence to share a more objective opinion about this AMAZING ARTIST! I guess that description says it all. I read a customer's review saying: "He is a Bocelli wanna be"... I encourage you to attend one of his concerts, you may change you mind. He is an artist of his own who actually is an amazing musician, and wishes he could just be a drums player! Does this sound like Bocelli? Not at all. Josh is very versatile, who by the way has a wonderful sense of humor in his concerts so he takes the audience thru a rollercoaster of emotions, from his intense romantic melodies to the funniest jokes of a young guy his age. Does this sound like Bocelli?... Uuhh, he also plays the piano impecably!
His first CD, (self-titled) is nothing less than flawless - very well orchestrated and produced.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing further projects of this young talent who is rescuing tasteful music and unassumingly teaching a bunch of "artists wanna be" what serious, real, and professional talent means.

    4-0 out of 5 stars Now I'm A Grobanite!!!!
Josh Groban's break-through is nothing but astounding you can simply tell that all he has is non-forced talent that has been taken care of and well-nutured by years of faithful toturing... Not only that but, despite his new-found fame he remains a very down to earth person. You can tell that there is nothing generic or fake about Groban.

I listen and re-listen to his C.D. hundreds of times on my iPod. Each time I listen to "Your'e Still You" and "Home to Stay" I find myself falling in love with his charming voice. You can tell by his smooth sounds that there is nothing forced about it.

This C.D. is great for any easy-listening fan or any good music fan... I love this C.D. and all in all it's one of the best C.Ds I own. Please buy this C.D. I promise you it's more than worth it's price-tag!!!! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Born, the debut album by four conservatory-trained young women, has little to do with classical music. It's a gimmick, fusing a string quartet of frivolous femmes, spicy girls who all want to be "Posh," with dance beats, a big production mixing their violins, viola, and cello with polished electronics. Taking themselves less than seriously--they played the James Bond theme at their Royal Albert Hall debut--pop"Victory" looks assured. This single bounces along with a dash of Rossini's Barber of Seville and a real sense of pop melodrama, in spirit little different from what guitarist John Williams did with his rather less photogenic band Sky in the late 1970s. What may surprise is that tracks such as the frenetic world-dance "Quixote" are penned by the film composer Magnus Fiennes, brother of the more famous Ralph and Joseph. "Winter" adds Jean Michel Jarre-style synth and voice-over to the ghost of Vivaldi and the infectious beat goes on, and on, and on. Sex sells, and Bond's success seems assured. This is a state-of-the-art product, but with a bonus remix of "Victory" by Mike Batt of Wombles fame, just don't expect it to be art.--Gary S. Dalkin ... Read more

I discovered Bond totlly by accident. They made a spectacular first impression for me. A Classical snob probably wouldn't like them.I however find their combination of classical/techno on and on marvelous. It's great to find pure talent who can perform with enthusiasm and ability.I've since purchased all of their CD's, seen them perform live and can't wait for more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
I've never been a classical music fan until I heard this CD.I actually have now bought all four, but Born is the best.I would definitely buy more of Bond.

5-0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE!
This is one of the best albums I have ever heard! It is so emotional and it has no words! I discovered Bond when I saw a review of their new album CLASSIFIED. I would say that every song on this album is very good or excellent. The best are DUEL, VICTORY and WINTER. QUIXOTE has a spanis infused sound that sounds so good whn Bond play it that it must be exclusive. This is my favoutite band and I bet you would love them too. Be sure to check out their other releases: SHINE, REMIXED, CLASSIFIED. I guess Bond were born to make this. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Does it come with a scratch and sniff?
Read my review of Lara St. John's "Re: Bach" album and substitute "Bond" where it says "Lara St. John."

    1-0 out of 5 stars I bitch-slap Bond!
Jive Bunny and Hooked-on-Classics with failed page-3 slappers pretending to play string instruments.

Conservative, anti-intellectual and reactionary music for conservative, anti-intellectual and reactionary times. A dumb, dumbed-down and blatantly mercenary CD. Musical "mumbo-jumbo" for people who can't listen to any music without drums & percussion and a basic 4.4 beat drummed into their tiny minds.

Classical music doesn't need this sort of rubbish. Pop music has better things to do.

    Don't believe the hype!

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice spin on classical music
I think this is a great album. The Bond trio takes classical tracks which are to slow and inaccessible for many people and makes them more melodic and upbeat, while preserving the songs' genuine spirit. This is a great album to introduce people to classical melodies, or help people relax, but it is also an outstanding album by itself.Go Bond! :-) ... Editorial Review

If anyone belongs in the "Whatever Happened To?" category of a game show, it's Phil Collins. Back in the 1980s, Collins was everywhere, having retinkered Genesis into a smooth, hit-making machine and embarking on a solo career that redefined adult contemporary music. He's still been busy, but nowhere near the spotlight. His latest project has been writing five songs for Disney's animated Tarzan. "You' ll Be in My Heart"--presented here in two versions, one with actress Glenn Close--is exactly the sort of ersatz orchestrated power ballad you expect from this sentimental guy. A duet with 'N Sync in "Trashin' the Camp" (also issued in two versions) is Phil's concession to the kids. Producer Mark Mancina's instrumental score mixes the expectant ambient sounds of the jungle with the slowly unfolding sounds of daybreak and jungle rhythms (provided by Collins on drums) that denote inevitable conflict. --Rob O'Connor ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This album SUCKS
I'd rather sit in my apartment and repeatedly punch myself in the balls than listen to Phil Collins.I listened to part of this album once, and it haunted me for days. Unless you are an avid homosexual, I'd stray far from any of his music.Once again, Phil Collins SUCKS!

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY TOUCHING
I think that this soundtrack is very touching. Phil Collins did a good job in the music and the lyrics.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Music Behind The Man
When looking at a huge music star such as Phil Collins, people automatically assume the best out of him. He has so many albums, fans and awards so thus, the general public assume that someone as high quality as him would give it his all. Putting aside the film, and when you really look at the music, you see he did.

From the opening song "Two Worlds", you can feel the confliction and pain he tries to presents in the words. From having the young ape killed to having Tarzan's parents killed by the jaguar, you can hear him trying to present the pain. When he gets to the lyrics "No words describe a mothers tear, no words can heal a broken heart...," you can feel that glitter of hope when she hears the babys' cry.

With the songs "Son of Man" and "Strangers Like Me", Phil tries to present the confusion and hardship of growing up in a world where everyone is so different from you. Phil strongly presents the determination and wonder in both these songs as you see Tarzan grow up into the man he becomes and falls in love for the first time. When the scene of them in the trees with the birds, you can feel the angst in Phil's voice representing the longing of Tarzan to understand what it is he is feeling.

With "Trashing The Camp" version with 'N Sync, it could of been better though. This song was probably the downfall all in all of the album, making it gain a bad rep with some of Phil's fans. But he brings it all back with the song "You'll Be In My Heart"

Whether people agree with it or not, Phil Collins sings wonderfully in this album in my opinion. If you can feel the emotions trying to be presented in the songs, the singer has done their job and Phil Collins certainly did this. ... Read more
