5-0 out of 5 stars Best Band Ever
They have a few new cd's now that are even better look at www.niftytomfifty.com i promise you won't be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A VERY TALENTED SKA BAND!
This CD is really good. If you think all ska sounds the same you need to check this CD out as well as the new FIF album. This isn't quite as good as the new five iron CD but it comes really close. To sum it all up if you took the old plankeye, five iron, and a little hardcore and put it all in a blender you'll get nifty tom 50. If you're into secular bands like less than jake you'll enjoy this. Every song is great.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best CD I've ever bought
I met these guys at one of their concerts and they've remebered me at every concert since and have taken time to hang out with me and my friends. This is just one example of how devoted they are to their fans and what nice guys they are. If you're not sold because "they're nice guys," their music also reflects their personality, it's AWESOME. They have songs that make you jump, songs that calm you down, and songs that make you think. I don't know of anybody who has heard them and hasn't liked them. They even inspired me to start a band of my own. (HINT: check us out at mp3.com/theskatomobiles). Buy their CD, it's more than AWESOME. 5-0 out of 5 stars HE WILL ROCK YOU
Ah, spring; Runforyerlife soon follows. This ragtag group of college students from Wheaton, IL have cooked up a cornucopia of genre-splicing ska that has you thrusting your foot (the other one is dancing) into your mouthbecause, when you saw the latest from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, youdeclared that you hated ska. But then you were converted by the cool, catlike vocals of Kelly Zouhary and the accompanying razor-sharp horns ofthe RFYL posse; and not since Johnny Socko have you been hypnotized bydance-hall Midwesterners who have gleaned the dark secrets of melody fromsuch unlikely sources as high-school band and joyous 80's rock. Definitelyworth your entertainment dollar if you have any vestige of interest in yourwaking life.

5-0 out of 5 stars rockin' chicago ska!
this cd rocks.i saw them live and they had so much energy.my favorite tracks are te vi, which breaks into spanish, 4 am fight song, with a raging interlude by the charming jim gibbons, and heard and not seen, a morebombastic, funkier song than no doubt's "just a girl," but withthe same message that grrls rock hard.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST UP AND COMING SKA BAND
Runforyerlife is a fairly new band on Jump Up records...the wonderful lable who brought us the adjusters and greenhouse. This band has a powerful sound sure to make you get up and dance. The passionate femalevocals really set them apart from the traditional ska sound.I HIGHLYreccommend that anyone who has even a minimal interest in ska buy thisalbum. It's sure to please. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars honeylocust is the best.
everyone should own at least one copy of this cd, it may be the best record put out within the past 10 years. i dont even like ska, but i freakin' love honeylocust.
i wish theyd do a reunion tour, or put out a dvd or something- im sure they have some killer footage.
i love kevin snow and reggie youngblood. forever.

5-0 out of 5 stars UNDERGROUND SKA AT IT'S BEST!!!!!!
I Love this CD. I can't stop listening to this CD. This album is awesome ska/punk. It's tough for me to call it skacore because it really isn't. The vocals are more punk than hardcore. The Insyderz are skacore. Honeylocust is more ska/punk with a little hardcore influence. Buy it if you like punk or ska. It sucks theybroke up.

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE EIGHTY ROCKS!!!
In 1998 I was young and naive and not really into the whole music scene. After getting recomended to this cd by my friend (who knows "one eighty" or "flight one eighty") I fell in love with it. Their mixture of fast ska mixed with two great girl voices and a few trombone solos makes this album a great cd to buy or for a gift. I do admit that a few times it can get a little old school/boring because of the mix of 50's style with slow lyrics. But, after about 2 songs it perks right back up and gets you wanting to worship with the fast/fun lyrics.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome!!!
first off i'd like to say that its pretty [bad] that they had to change their name becuz some other christian group sued them. how could you be so greedy to sue an awesome band with an awesome message like flight 180? (don't wanna get them in trouble by calling them one eighty).and secondly how can you compare them to the supertones?they sound nothing like the supertones.they have women vocalist for pete sake.the supertones are one of the greatest bands ever but comparing flight 180 and them is like comparing apples and oranges they sound nothing alike. if you need a comparison the band i think they most sound like is no doubt (before rock steady).they sound very similar to no doubt, especially with the ladies vocals.this cd is awesome.tick, tock, sally, and cool world are the best songs on this cd. also try their newest releases lineup and girls & boysthey are both pretty cool. enjoy this cd....

2-0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm...........
Right, first of all they are a good band musically, a bit of a dance hall crashers rip-off but there you go. Why 2 stars then? Because they undo all their hard work by ramming religion down our throats in every song. It is preachy and condescending, and it gets really old, really fast. They wouldnt like it if bad religion said 'you are all wrong, god is a myth' in every single chorus of every single song would they? ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars not there best work
as a friend of the Israelites and former assitant to Rich Carlstedt, I have to say that out of all there works (recorded and non) Montego Bay is not ther best work. As seen through the eyes of any fan of original Jamaican Ska. It is good when you look at the time frame and take in to consideration every thing that line up went through. but when you listen to it after listening to "Washaway" (Kingston Beat Records) or "Roots" (Jump Up Records) your left wondering what happend? for the best in Israelite music don't buy a CD don't evan go to a show, but go to the tiny practise studio in Up Town Whittier dubbed "studio two" and here them try new songs, come up with new music for older songs or just do what they do best play for GOD

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Traditional Ska, but not as good as Washaway & others
I recently bought this CD and was a little disappointed.I enjoy listening to it, but after listening non-stop to one of theirprevious CDs, Washaway, this one lackssome of the unpolished roots ska sound.Still, this CD is a good selection for big Israelites fans as well asdedicated first-waveska listeners. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Might have been good as a first attempt
Let me start out with a disclaimer: a lot of people love this album, and, musically it's sound. (no pun intended) FIFs constantly changing style missed me with this album, although "ugly day" was acceptable, it sounded much better on the live album...
If you're a FIF fan you'll like it. If you're not, try Electric Boogaloo or "Our newest album ever" first. (Electric Boogaloo was the best IMO, but i think i'm in the minority on that choice )

3-0 out of 5 stars Worst FIF album ever
This album came during a very difficult time for Five Iron Frenzy. One of their chief song writers left the group before songs for this album were written, and the various members of the band (all 8 of them) kind of traded off on song writing duties for this album. As a result, it lacks the unity in sound that a lot of their other albums had (Electric Boogaloo has the same failing, but not to the same extent).

This is, in my opinion, the least catchy and least appealing of all FIF albums. I was a hardcore fan before this came out, I bought it on the first day and I remember sitting in the car listening to it on the way home and my girlfriend saying to me "It kind of [bad isn't] it" I hated to agree, but I had to.

For the FIF beginner go for one of their first two albums or the Quantity is Job 1 EP for their finer work. Eventually the FIF faithful talked themselves into liking this one, but without the previous FIF experience, this album will really fall flat for the uninitiated.

The only really stand out track on the album is A New Hope (and possibly Solidarity). Go buy those two songs on ITunes, and you aren't missing much of anything from the rest of the album.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun CD
I bought this CD after I heard about FIF from a friend and I am really glad that I did. At first I thought that many of the songs sounded similar, but after a few listens I can now appreciate them all individually. The songs on this CD are fun and are uplifting. I especially enjoy Phantom Mullet, Ugly Day and Greatest Story Ever Told. Five Iron Frenzy is a unique group that should appeal to most people. I recommend this CD to anyone looking for a different type of music that you don't normally hear. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars CD for when you don't feel like flying anymore
This CD would get 5 stars strictly on the strength of "Every New Day" - my favorite song from the early days of the incredibly fun and random Christian ska era (and maybe the 90's as a whole).I remember the first time I heard it (ca 1998), driving I-90 across Indiana, and feeling like my restless faith and tired passions had been given a voice. But beyond the final track "Our Newest Album Ever" was a solid piece of work as FIF wrestled with their passion becoming their job, were honing their social voice, and refused to take anything too seriously (Canada will get lodged in your brain resulting in spontaneous inadvertent smirking (SIS) for days). Can a CD from the late 90's be a classic? If so, this one is.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is without a doubt the best FIF album, & one of the...
The BEST CD'S OF ALL TIME!I'm not lieing when I say that this album came to me at a time of a real depression. I had FIF's first album, Upbeats & Beatdowns, and I was really excited about this album. It helped me through a lot of difficult times being a pre-teen, and now looking back on it, almost ten years ago, I still listen to this album on a regular bases. The only song on this album that I do not like is track 9. The rest of the album just has an amazing muscial oddessy that everyone will enjoy. I'll go in order of the track listing:

Handbook For The Sellout: 10/10: Amazing opener for any album
Where is Micah? 8/10: Good song, not the most catchy though
Superheros 9/10: Good song, funny lyrics
Fistful of Sand: 10/10: Amazing song, not a good one live though
Suckerpunch 10/10: A very fun song, fun lyrics, and fun live
Kitty-Doggy 10/10: Fun song, very short old demo song taken from a previous live show.
Blue Comb 78' 10/10: Perhaps one of the best songs FIF has ever recorded, this song is a very good song, slower, but has very good lyrics and is overall very fun and intriguing.
Banner Year: 10/10: More upbeat then the last song, has good lyrics and very upbeat and good sounding, pleasing to the ears.
Seasons (forgot the name of it): 5/10: the least best song of this album, feels like a filler for the cd
Litmus 10/10: Very good song, good lyrics, and fun.
Oh Canada! 10/10: One of the most fun FIF songs, and very fun lyrics.
Most Likely to Succeed 9/10: A very good song, not very uplifting, but it's very very good overall.
Every New Day Infinate/10: The best song that FIF has ever recorded, the most popular and most favorite of any FIF fan. A Truly amazing song with amazing lyrics.

Overall I would say, now that FIF is over, if your new to this band, definitly start with this cd, then get "The End is Here" for I find that to be the 2nd best FIF cd over all their cd's.I have all of thier cd's and they were definitly the best christian band ever!

5-0 out of 5 stars Music with a Smile!
In simplest terms, BUY THIS ALBUM. These guys are unbeliveable. The energy they put into it will keep this CD in your boombox for a long time. Unbeliveable album. Favorites: Canada Song, Superpowers, Every New Day, Suckerpunch, and Where is Micah? If you only wanted to get one album from 5 iron frenzy, this would be the album. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite FiF cd!
I love everything on this CD.
My Evil Plan to Save the World: Great lyrics and great tune make this a instant hit. 9/10
All That is Good:I LOVE THIS SONG! It speaks so much to me. I love everything about it 10/10
Dandelions: Slower than the previous two tracks, but just as good. Great lyrics and tune make this track a winner. 9/10
One Girl Army: Another great song, the lyrical style changes dramatically once the chorus starts. 8/10
Sweet Talkin' Woman: A great Electric Light Orchestra cover. In my opinion, better than the original. 8/10
When I Go out: The first time you hear this song it will leave you confused. I had to listen to it a second time, and than I started laughing hysterically. 8/10
Get Your Riot Gear: LOVE the lyrics. The tone is very different than the rest of the cd. 9.5/10
The Untimely Death of Brad: A really good song with strange lyrics: 8/10
These Are Not My Pants(all versions): Really funny the first couple of listens, but gets old. 7/10

I love this cd. I try not to over listen it, but its so good!
I would recomend this CD to anyone who likes Five Iron Frenzy, or a first time listener.

      Overall rating: 10/10

3-0 out of 5 stars Impressed me all throughout the CD
I abslolutely love Five Iron Frenzy since their first cd ,Upbeats and Beatdowns, and they have always impressed me.. The only reason why I didn't give it more stars is because this one was only an EP and it had several good songs on it! The bassist I must say is also amazing and they have pulled it through all the way!

4-0 out of 5 stars If you like rock at all, buy this... now... hurry!
I was really glad i bought this CD when i got it.It combines FIF's solemness in songs like Dandelions "dandelions, you see flowers in these weeds" with their cleverness in My Evil Plan to Save the World (very fun song) and then that wacky junk that somtimes u just cant get enough of: the last nine songs are all about pants -u will crack up so hard listening to them. The only thing wrong with this awesome album is that it didn't seem to have enough real written songs (there are only about 7) otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Quantity is completely worth buying. So far i would say this is my favorite FIF album. ... Read more

I've had this cd for four years now and I still listen to it every day.For a live album, this one is awesome! Most live albums are not good. This is totaly opposite. LISTEN TO THE HIDDEN TRACK ON "EVERY NEW DAY"!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Five Irons Gratest CD Ever!
This Was My First Five Iron CD my second was Chesses of Nazareth. When I first listened to One Girl Army, Oh, Canada, A Flowery Song, Dandilions, Suckerpunch, ansd so on I fell in love with Five Irons sound and had to get all of there cds. There one of my favorite bands and if you haven't got this cd i would highly recomend it. It has the awsomest mix of Five Irons early songs. Which I think are the best.I would give this cd 10 stars but they won't let me.

      Five Iron Frenzy Rules!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Quintessential Five Iron? Perhaps
Five Iron Frenzy makes a solid compilation of some of their best songs with the release of this live album, which will delight die-hard fans of the Denver ska-core ensemble and curious listeners alike. One of the things that has always set Five Iron Frenzy apart from other groups in their genre has been their unique stage presence and sense of humor, (which encludes dressing as the cast of Star Trek and crowd surfing a giant pinata filled with chili across their crowd) and these qualities are shown in this album. However, apart from the outrageously entertaining gimmicks of their live preformances, Five Iron Frenzy also offers fine musicianship and songwriting which is played out with even more energy than their studio records. These aspects distinguish the band from their contemporaries and make for an exillarating live experience. In short, Five Iron is a dish best experienced live, but this album is the next best thing (and is sadly the only thing available after the band announced their breakup in late November of 2003.) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A little inconsistent, but a lot of fun to listen to
This album contains a good portion of Five Iron Frenzy's best songs, including their consensus best song, "A Flowery Song." There are some tracks I find a bit annoying, boring, or repetitive in the middle of the album, but the beginning and the end make it worthwhile. A lot of the songs won't be the type to be your favorite song, but they're enjoyable to listen to. Not just that, but unlike a lot of ska, Five Iron Frenzy songs often make you want to sing along. The lyrics are actually a bit heavy with political and social commentary, but that's easy enough to ignore if you want to.

If you're looking for some poppy ska, buy this album, and you won't regret it, if only because you'll hear "A Flowery Song."

5-0 out of 5 stars FiF in general
This cd, like all of FiF's is a great cd, with meaningful, and sometimes comical songs... with a religious attitude and all the talent they need, i'd rush out and not only get this cd, but all of them... they're not often blatantly religious about things, rather, they have hidden meanings in thier songs, and address problems with the real world, and real people...

Songs like "A Flowery Song"(our newest album ever, and live...), "Amalgamate"(upbeats and beatdowns), "World Without End"(all the hype that money can buy) and my favorite, "Every New Day" (live) and the alternate version of it "On Distant Shores" from their last album (the end is near) are beautifully written and performed songs about God...

Songs like "My Evil Plan to Save the World"(quantity is job1), "Suckerpunch"(live), and "Handbook for the Sellout"(live) are more punk/ska type songs, that still have their own significances...

overall, FiF is a great band, with lovely, and sometimes funny songs... you should get this cd... buh, if you only get one... get the "Live: Proof the Youth are Revolting" cd...

4-0 out of 5 stars A must have.
My wife actually put me onto FIF - and she hates punk and ska!I love ska and punk and told my wife one day that I wished I could find a Christian ska band and she found FIF for me (this was a few years ago).I thought OK, cool, but let's see if they're any good.Yup, they're one of the best. I get a kick out of the sarcasm in "The Old West" and "Beautiful America."The quote from Westside Story - priceless."A Flowery Song" has to be the most creative arraingment of the Doxology that I've ever heard (I'm almost tempted to give this disc 5 stars for "A Flowery Song" alone). A bit of advice - get this disc now and listen to it over and over - you'll have trouble finding anything much better.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best skunk bands ever!
I was captivated from track 1 to the final. Sort of a mix between Catch 22 and Sublime, except better. Definately a fun band. This is such a great CD I'm still listening to it, and I strongly suggest that you buy this before they're all gone,so what are you waiting for? Listen to a sample, and if you like that, then TRUST me you'll love the CD!

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good CD
This cd is pretty good. This is for Sublime fans. I'm not a big fan, but I like the lyrics to this, they present a clear message of the gospel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Plane Cool!!
I don't know I just like these guys, they aren't Ska-Core, like "The Insyderz,"but they have a way of getting their songs in your head. From tunes like:"Run Joseph Run, My Greatest Day, and CB, to ScrewUp." They are very creative and original. When I saw they wereclassified as Ska-Core I was expecting something like "Less ThanJake." If you like "Five Iron Frenzy, or Silage," You willvery much like these guys.Check them out!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars insyderz, indeed
After reading some other reviews, I thought I would give a more accurate, informative one.
I first heard the Insyderz when my friend burned me skalleluia too.I was already hooked. When I bought this album, it made me so happy. This is the best insyderz album out there. It is much better than skalleluia too, because there's less experimenting and the music is better. If you're a fan of good ska, don't hesistate to get this album. This album is amazing and full of musically advanced songs. The horns are stellar and this album can cheer you up anytime.THIS IS REAL MUSIC.Worship is 20 times as good with the insyderz. good stuff.

4-0 out of 5 stars Skalleluia
I first ran across some Insyderz MP3s while trying to find some MxPx (a long time fan). The first track I ever heard from them was "In The Secret" and I was hooked. These guys do some great stuff with the classic songs that we grew up singing in church and at camps and retreats.Lord, I Lift Your Name on High gives us both sides - a nice traditional version and then jumps into a real ska/punk version of the song.Draw Me Close is practically reggae, but it keeps you interested in Jesus.

      Why 4 stars?:
These guys do some great work with making some of our favorite songs a ska/punk classic. These will keep your toes tapping while your praying and are just good, clean fun.Plus, these guys really know how to rock!I just wish this disc had more songs on it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Singn' praise was never so fun!
This album rocks to heaven! If you like first-class Christian ska then you've got to get this CD. You'll be amazed to hear the rockn' ska twist to songs that you've heard for years in church. It includes gutsy hard-rock hits as well as dancable praise numbers. A great way to liven up your worship time or any social gathering.

From old-time favorites like "O Lord You're Beautiful" to a truly romping version of "Awesome God", The Insyderz sport a unique blend of ska and rock whitch I've never heard done better. Get ready to sing "Skalleluia"! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST OF SKA
I LOVE THIS ALBUM!! This is definitlety one of the best ska albums ever made, maybe not as great as the first but the second best. I didn't hear it hen it first came out but i heard it and loved it. They have a better ska sound than the o.c. supertones and out of their 5 albums (two worship/praise albums) this is 2nd best. The best tracks are: ("The Hunted", "Jigsaw", and "Fight Of My Life". This is a definite must!

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as the first one
This album is worth buying if you're into Christian Ska.I like Jigsaw and Paradise the best. However, their Motor City Ska album is superb and a lot better to skank to.I've seen the Insyderz live, and nothing gets you movin' like their songs from the Motor City Ska album.I do give them kudos though for experimenting in this CD.The Skalleluia CD is ok, but is extremely limited in terms of creativity for obvious reasons (they're tweaking mainstream church songs).Overall:Motor City Ska--BUY IT NOW / Fight of my Life--Buy it when you get around to it / Skalleluia--Borrow it from a friend first

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT SKANKING SKA MUSIC!!!
I must say at first I was not too crazy about this album but after giving it a few listens it grew on me. It is now in my top 5 ska albums of all time!!!! Musically the insyderz lean more towards pure ska on this CD but there are only 10 songs. Tracks 1,2,4, & 10 are the songs that have some hardcore influence. You can hear punk influence on track 5 and 9 and track 7 is an interesting instrumental song. Yes it is different but it's still the insyderz brand of music. AWESOME SKA-CORE! ... Read more
